September 10
Going to the arcade a few days ago was so much fun and we've been having a good time ever since.
When he would come here three years ago we didn't really have many opportunities to go out like this. I was always worried about school and my tests and he was always so hasty to get back to his era to find the jewel shards. It's been kinda nice to really experience it all. Most importantly we were together, that was what matters the most.
Inuyasha said that this era was so loud and bright and everyone was always rushing around. There were tons of things he didn't understand here. The clothes were so tight and he hated wearing shoes, although I still thought he looked really sexy. Despite it all, he was having a good time here and I was glad. It was exciting to be to be able to show him around.
I took Yasha to a museum yesterday. He was fascinated by the different historical artifacts and artwork and learning about all of the history that had happened between the Feudal Era and this era. He'd had a lot of questions and I answered them the best she could. It was all very interesting.
Today we went to the mall. We went to as many stores as we could and we also went to the movie theater. I talked about movies and TV shows with him a lot back home, it was one of the main things I missed here, so he was excited to finally see one. I took him to see Avengers: Endgame. He really enjoyed all of the action in it and was definitely a fan afterward. He wanted to see more of these so I promised we would see another movie before we went back home.
"That movie was fucking amazing!" Inuyasha said as we walked through the mall.
I couldn't help but laugh. Inuyasha hadn't stopped talking about it since we left the theater.
"Although I will say, I could have clobbered those aliens with one swipe of my tetsusaiga."
I elbowed him. "You really think so?"
He elbowed me back. "I know so. Hell, I could have taken out the Hulk with one punch."
"You sure are modest aren't you?"
"What I am is hungry. What's for lunch?"
"Let's go to the food court and see what we can get you."
We decided to get food from Sarku. Just as we had gotten out of line with the food, I heard someone calling me.
"Kagome!"
"Oh my God, it's Kagome!"
I was surprised to see my friends Yuka, Eri, and Ayumi coming towards us. I hadn't seen any of my friends in such a long time and suddenly I became nervous. How on earth was I going to explain everything to them?!
"Kagome, where have you been?!" Ayumi exclaimed, giving me a hug.
"Well, um, it's a long story…" I said.
"Oh my God, you're Kagome's delinquent boyfriend!" Eri said, pointing to Inuyasha.
"You're back together?!" Yuka said just as surprised.
Inuyasha raised his eyebrows and looked at me. "Delinquent boyfriend?"
"Come sit! We've got so much to catch up on," Eri said.
We all went to sit at a table with our food.
"So where have you been, Kagome?" Yuka asked.
"Yeah, you just kinda disappeared after graduation," Ayumi said. "We thought you had gone to school abroad."
"Oh, well, um, we've been living...quite far away," I said hoping they would just leave it at that. I glanced at Inuyasha and at least he shared my concern. Surely it would be way too complicated to tell them everything about the well and the jewel.
Luckily they seemed to be more interested in something else.
"So when did you two get back together?" Eri asked.
"It's been about four months now," Inuyasha replied.
"That's so nice!" Ayumi said.
"Is it serious?" Yuka asked.
"We got married a while ago," Inuyasha said.
I glared at him. Now they were going to ask a million more questions! Inuyasha didn't understand that people didn't just up and get married right out of high school here.
My friends gasped. "Really?!"
"Wow, that was really fast!" Eri said.
"Did you elope or something?" Ayumi asked.
"Did we what?" Inuyasha asked. Eloping wasn't something people did in his era.
"No of course not!" I said.
"Why didn't you invite us to the wedding?" Yuka asked.
"It was just a small wedding," I replied.
"I think it's sweet," Ayumi said. "It's nice that you got back together. Kagome was so torn up after you two broke up all those years ago."
I just wanted to disappear. I blushed even more at the look Inuyasha was giving me.
"Oh really?" he said with that usual smirk.
"Oh yeah, she was sad for such a long time. It was impossible for her to move on."
"We tried to set her up with a few different guys. We thought for sure things would work out with her and Hojo," Eri said. "After all, he'd had a crush on her for such a long time."
Inuyasha continued to look at me curiously. I know he'd always suspected that Hojo liked me.
"So it's good that you've found your way back to each other," Eri continued.
"At least you didn't end up with that guy you said had asked you to have his children, huh Kagome?" Yuka laughed. "How weird would that be?"
"Wasn't there another guy you said Inuyasha was really jealous of?" Ayumi asked. "What was his name? Koga?"
This time Inuyasha burst out laughing. He'd had no idea I had ever told my friends about Miroku and Koga.
I was still mortified and I stomped on Inuyasha's foot under the table to get him to shut up. Then I took a sip of my drink. "Well, Inuyasha was the only guy I was ever serious about."
"Really baby?" Inuyasha said. He put his arm around me and kissed my cheek and it made me blush even more.
"Aww!" my friends exclaimed.
"You two are adorable!" Eri said.
Inuyasha held my hand but still smirked, finding my friends amusing.
"Inuyasha, how do you get your nails so long? And they're so sharp too," Eri asked.
"It's just how they are. They're good for cutting down my enemies."
They stared at him for a moment unable to tell if he was serious or not. This time I laughed. I knew good and well the kind of destruction he could cause with them.
"So what's it like where you live?" Ayumi asked.
"It's nice and quiet," Inuyasha replied. "Our house is kinda far away from the rest of the village."
"He means the neighborhood!" I interrupted. "Our house is at the edge of the neighborhood. It's very nice and peaceful."
"That's so cool!" Eri said. "We've got to come to visit one day."
"Um, well…" I tried to come up with an explanation for why they couldn't.
"It's really far away," Inuyasha tried. "Like, really far away. And hard to get to."
"I see," Yuka said. "But we'll see you again soon, right?"
"Um, maybe," I said. I had no idea if we'd ever be able to come back through the well so I left it at that. "We'll see what we can do."
Soon we parted ways with my friends and Inuyasha and I walked off.
"I think that went well," I said. I was just relieved that I didn't have to explain everything. Otherwise, we would be there all day.
"You've told your friends a lot of stuff," Inuyasha said.
I blushed again. Of course, I never expected him to find out about this. "Well, not that much…"
"So I was your 'delinquent boyfriend,' huh?" Clearly, he still found this amusing.
"I never came up with that, that was them drawing their own conclusions!" I sighed. "They just didn't understand. They kinda had the wrong idea for a while."
Now I wish I had been more discreet about some of the things I told my friends back then. I know they meant well, but I didn't think Inuyasha would ever find out about it.
