The house is larger than anything that Jupiter had ever seen belonging to as small a family as three. Four with Grey, because Grey is family too.

Three stories tall including an attic, with too many bedrooms, a proper dining room, and some other details that had gone over Jupiter's head. Names blurred in her mind, proper designations of rooms and parlors and lounges and offices and other places that Seraphi had used blurring with what was meant to be used on Earth. Seraphi would use so many rooms, somewhat superfluous reasons of tradition propelling her from one room to the next throughout the day.

To be Entitled was to be on ceremony, for the majority of your life, and ceremonies needed space, needed different settings to be perfect.

Jupiter thought it stupid, and more than a waste. So many rooms to do so many things, but when you aren't doing the things they are for, it seems so much more empty. It makes you realize how small you are and how little space you actually need to take up. She had lived most of her short life in a very small, cramped space. Sharing said space with two adult women and other rooms with her cousins. Seraphi's excess through her memories seemed ridiculous to her.

The house in front of her is little like that too, she knows. Her grandfather's wealth a fraction of what was possible when you owned entire solar systems and planets, but still very much different than Jupiter's own experience.

It is much smaller than any Alcazar, however. So point to Grandfather for not going too crazy.

Vaguely, Jupiter remembers that Seraphi had owned three at the end of her life(countless others throughout it), but never really spent much time on any of them. She preferred to be more mobile and was constantly adrift between work and any parties if it was required during a Season, which took place each century or so. She had one near the Jupiter Refinery, on one of its moons, IO, and that's where she died. One near Orous as was required by anyone of her status, and one just out of the solar system. The closest she had to home had been her ship, the Red Hawk… I'm going to own all of those. They were set aside in a trust to Seraphi's Recurrence, aka me. The rest of Seraphi's assets were too connected to her businesses and were conditionally given out to her children. I think it's Balem that has the most to lose in that case. He would have become the Primary of the House, and hence in charge of the majority of the operations.

Is burning the site where she died to the ground too much of an overreaction?

But the house in front of her was not like that, Jupiter could see.

"I love it," she whispered, happily, barely glancing at the house to turn to the expecting face of her guardians.

Because she loved that she would be here with them, and that was the best thing about it. Not the size of the rooms. Not the newness of the furniture. Not the amount of rooms.

But the people filling in those rooms with her.
