Chapter 68: A Random Revival
A young man runs a hand through his black, white, and grey speckled hair. He takes a deep breath, steels himself, and dives into the PvP content on his phone.
… Missingno?
"..." Missingno climbs over the audience. "Excuse me. Pardon me. Main Character, coming through. Well, sorry for the intrusion. Do you people want to see something or not?"
He climbs onto a wooden stage with a hefty sigh.
Um, where are Cassandra and Koja?
"They are back in the real setting, duh!"
… So are you gonna go and start the plot?
He goes limp and groans for a solid minute. "UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-I guess."
With a snap of the fingers, Missingno appears next to Cassandra, Driller, and Koja-
"Missingno!" They jump away from the creepy existence.
-and half of all humans get wiped from existence.
MISSINGNO!
"What? There is only, like, 6 to 10 people in each town to begin with, anyways."
Cassandra grabs him by the back of the collar as they head towards the building.
"I don't know what you are saying or where you have been, but we have been waiting forever."
Not as long as the audience has.
"I know, right?"
As Missingno talks to the Narrator, the duo drag him through the front door of the Indigo Plateau.
"Wait. Is the Indigo Plateau the name of the plateau formation around the building, or the building itself?"
Everyone, including the Narrator, decides to ignore Missingno's remark, as they want to get on with the story.
"Oh, so that's how it is, huh?" Missingno jumps out of Cassandra's grip, and blocks the corridor to the stairs.
Missingno snaps his fingers-
NO!
-and a small platoon of Missingnos appear behind him.
Thank goodness.
-and another half of all humans drops out of existence.
COME ON!
The Missingnos harmonize a laugh as they scurry for the entrance to the most difficult challenge in the Pokemon World.
"... So, can we go now?" Koja eyebrows scrunch as he glares at the glitch.
"Yup! But be ready. The Elite Four is such a significant point in Pokemon, that they have surely all been glitched into extremely powerful foes. Each one will become a fearsome foe, and the battles that will ensue will be cherished as heart wrenching tales that have a climactic twist that no one could see coming! And after each glitch has been defeated, there is a Pokemon battle that must be overcome as well before we can move on! This will be a long, historic day!"
Cassandra rolls her eyes, and looks. "Yeah, do you think Driller will be ok? He hasn't gotten a lot of EXP, since someone keeps taking all the fights."
Koja scruches his eyebrows again as he looks over the giant bee Pokemon. "Even if he was at full strength, could he beat all of the Elite Four by himself?"
Driller brandishes his spear hands, weapons that this world frequently allows young children to wield at their pleasure.
"We'll be fine." Missingno walks to the PokeMart and drops a ton of cash on the counter.
"Good idea, we should stock up on medicine for the battles."
"I want all the bag of chips this money can buy!"
"What?!" Cassandra opens up her empty wallet and glares at the pile of chips that houses Missingno.
As the characters enter the first room, they prepare for whatever kind of enemy lay ahead.
Koja taps Cassandra on the shoulder, and points to the remains of a dramatic battle against a giant, Slowbro shaped ice dispenser monster.
Missingno walks up behind her, tossing the last empty bag aside. "Wow. That seems like a funny battle that was really slow for a while, and then everything happened at once."
Cassandra rolls her eyes. "Whatever, at least we can still fight the actual Pokemon-"
Driller taps her on the shoulder and points to Lorelei and a pile of fainted Pokemon.
"... Great."
The same occurrence repeats with the remnants of a non-fighting fight club, based in a rock garden. Then with the vestiges of a child eating clown that could only turn into bats and snakes. And finally the echoes of a green, rideable lizard that ate things and turned them into eggs. Totally a dragon, right?
Each room had been defeated, and then the elite four had been bested.
"Missingno, you couldn't have left any fights for us?" Cassandra and Driller cross their arms and stand between Missingno and the last doorway.
"What are you talking about? I needed to beat the trainers to move on to the next room."
"You're Missingno! You could have phased through the door! Or kicked it down! Or made it have never existed in the first place!"
"Yeah, but this is more fun. Plus, it was a snap!"
And another half of the population disappears.
MISSINGNOOOOOOOO!
