A/N

Probably the last update for today. I think three is enough!

Remember at the start of this thing when I said one -maybe two- updates per day? HA! Yeah. That lasted long.

Enjoy!

Rose stares at me, blinking blankly from my bed.

"I'm serious," I tell her, laughing nervously. Now that I've relayed the details, it sounds fucking crazy.

I'm met with nothing. For a moment I'm concerned. Turning to Alice -who's staring blankly at a picture of us on the wall, pushing herself from side to side with her foot, my old computer chair creaking like a steady beat as it moves- I throw my hands into the air. "It's not that unbelievable,"

Angela quirks a brow and looks at me skeptically -it's movement at least.

"Okay," Alice starts, leaning forward and resting her elbows on her knees. "Let me get this straight. You" —she points her finger in my direction— "and Edward Cullen, have decided to be 'friends'?" I narrow my eyes at her finger-quotations, but nod.

Before I can defend myself, Rose cuts in. "And you're going to see how it goes? Try to start over? You … and Edward 'manwhore' Cullen?" She's unconvinced, not that I can blame her.

I guess that's my fault, I left a few details out.

"He's not …" yeah, this is harder than I thought. He may not have been fucking other people, but I don't know how I can defend his sexual escapades without sounding naive.

I sigh, feeling defeated and downtrodden. "Can you just … give me the benefit of the doubt here?" Rose's eyebrow hitches again and I scowl. "What's the worst that can happen?"

Scoffing, Rose shakes her head. "You really want me to answer that?"

Alice sits back in the chair and chews her lip as she studies me. "Look, B, no offence, but … you've been all over the place since the very beginning with Edward Cullen, let's not underestimate the hold he has over you, okay?"

A stray thread on my jeans catches my attention, my fingers playing with it, pulling on it, watching it unravel. "I like him though." My voice is weak, timid. "I can't just forget him and move on. If there's a chance that we can … start over, I want to take it."

"And what about him?" Angela asks carefully from her usual spot on the floor.

"He said he wanted the same. And … I believe him."

Nodding, she lets it drop.

Which is more than I can expect from Rose. "There's too much about that boy that terrifies me. But," she shrugs, "I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. For you, not for him."

I smile gratefully, before turning to Alice who nods, silently agreeing with Rose. "We've got your back," she adds.
