Chapter 43- Greenish Blue With Envy
"High standards." Weiss chuckled.
"Greenish-Blue With Envy" appeared on the screen with the theme.
Blake chuckled "That's clever."
Pyrrha sighed with a laugh, "It is, Carolina is envious of Tex's skills, number one leaderboard position, and the special attention the Director gives her."
"It's normally green with envy right?" Jaune asked.
Weiss nodded. "But none of them know what color Carolina's armor is."
Fade in to Valhalla, where both bases fire off a bolt of energy. The theme plays as Carolina, along with the Red and Blues, drive into view. Wash walks up to Carolina as she hops off her Mongoose.
"OUTPOST 17-B: VALHALLA. PRESENT DAY." Appeared on the screen.
Washington: "Pelican's over there. That's where Tex ended up."
Carolina: "You mean her body ended up there."
"One of them at least." Yang took in a breath, "Beta Tex's first one got blown up by Donut, her second was one of Sarge's robots and I'm pretty sure that's the one that ended up there." She gestured to Valhalla.
Jaune nodded, "It is, and we all know where she actually ended up."
Yang nodded back with a sigh, "Then Epsilon Tex's body got left out in the snow. Or taken by the UNSC."
Washington: "Right."
Carolina: "Show me."
The ex-Freelancers leave for the crash site until Simmons runs up from behind one of the Warthogs.
Simmons: "Wait! What about the military? This could all be a trap remember?"
Blake chuckled, "Wash's words are coming back to bite him."
Carolina: "What are you talking about?"
Sarge: "Wash told us we were fugitives of the law. Bandits. Cast out by society with no hope of redemption!"
Simmons: "Yeah, and that the UNSC would be waiting for us when we got back to base!"
Carolina turns to Wash.
Washington: "It was a possibility…"
"He was serious?" Ruby asked.
"I doubt it." Blake chuckled, "He sounds worried."
"He's probably scared of Carolina's wrath." Yang added.
Carolina: "So let me get this straight…"
"Yep." Yang chuckled. "She's like Tex in so many ways."
"Which to them is a reason to compete and hate each other." Pyrrha sighed.
"I think Tex might be indifferent, or just mean to everyone." Yang shrugged.
"That, doesn't make it any better." Pyrrha smiled apologetically.
Tucker, along with Caboose, calls Church over to them.
Tucker: "Psst! Hey Church! Over here!"
Epsilon appears in front of the two.
Epsilon: "Yeah, hey. Can't talk too long. My connection with Carolina's memory unit's not so good. What's up?"
Tucker: "Ah, not much, my first time here so I'm just taking it all in. Really enjoying the scenery. What about you?"
"...He's not serious is he?" Ruby asked. "I can never tell when anyone's serious in this show!"
"I highly doubt he's serious." Weiss commented.
"He may be, I'd enjoy the scenery there too." Ren hummed. "It's more pleasant than Blood Gulch's."
"Blood Gulch was great." Nora pouted. "Even the name is cool."
Epsilon: "Well, I mean, yeah, you know, now that you mention it, the trees are kinda nice. Especially in comparison with the desolate environment of the sand and the- wait, wait, wait, wait, wha? is that it?!"
Tucker: "No that's not it! What the fuck are you doing with Carolina?"
"Woah he blew up." Yang commented.
"Isn't it a good thing that he's in her memory unit?" Jaune asked, "They wanted information and now they don't have to spy anymore."
"Weird." Ruby agreed.
"I think he's worried that Church will side with Carolina." Blake explained. "In the past Church has gone against the others' better judgement to side with Tex."
"Yeah that's a good point, and Carolina just like Tex is the scary freelancer lady that can beat them all up." Yang added.
Epsilon: "Hey, calm down! Turns out she's more complicated than we thought."
Caboose: "Like Monopoly! Or like the board game."
"They have a monopoly board game?" Weiss raised an eyebrow.
"For baby CEO's." Yang mock cooed.
"I don't find that mental image very cute." Weiss grimaced.
"Monopoly's aren't that complicated are they?" Ruby asked, "It just means the company owns everything right."
"In the SDC's case yes." Weiss sighed, "But in other cases it can get much more complicated."
Tucker: "Church, just because you want to get close to someone doesn't mean that you have to end up inside them!"
Yang snorted.
"Oh please." Weiss groaned.
Yang snickered, "Sorry I just wasn't expecting it."
"You weren't expecting Tucker to make a dirty joke?" Blake raised her eyebrows.
Yang shrugged, "Huh, yeah I guess I wasn't."
Brief pause.
Epsilon: "...Oh come on. Aren't you going to say it?"
Tucker: "No, because I'm pissed off!"
"Well that is something I didn't expect." Weiss commented.
"Me neither." Blake said.
"My respect for Tucker has grown slightly." Weiss added. "Hm."
Epsilon: "Alright, alright, look guys. I'm still on your side, okay? But if Carolina is hiding something, I'm gonna have to stay close to her in order to find it. See? Proximity is the key."
Tucker: "I thought memory was the key?"
Ren chuckled.
Caboose: "Oh! Yeah, and the sword. Sword is the key too!"
The rest of the group laughed or chuckled.
"I forgot about the sword being a key." Jaune commented.
Tucker: "Caboose, shut up!"
Epsilon: "Uh Hey, I gotta go. We'll talk later."
Epsilon vanishes
Caboose: "We should probably get a key ring."
"Does Caboose mean a ring of keys or a ring that is also a key?" Ruby asked.
"A literal key ring." Yang laughed.
"I'd say both." Pyrrha chuckled.
Cut to Simmons talking to Carolina
Simmons: "So are you going to give us something to do?"
Carolina: "Just sit tight. In fact, don't do anything. At all."
"Carolina seems, happier?" Ruby tilted her head.
"Yeah she's not growling or snapping at them." Jaune nodded.
Blake turned to Jaune, "You make Carolina sound like a dog." The trace of a grin on her face showed the others that she was amused.
Jaune blushed and flinched, "Uh well- but- she did do those things! She growled at Caboose."
Blake chuckled, "She did."
"Church cheered her up." Pyrrha explained, "Ruby's right, she's happier. Or at the least she's in a good mood."
Simmons: "(sigh) Fine."
Jaune laughed.
Cut to a larger shot of the Reds
Grif: "Now that's the kind of order I can get behind. Next do you think she'll tell us to sleep in tomorrow or order us to stop bathing a week?"
"I wouldn't go that far." Weiss grimaced.
Simmons: "Wait, what? You've done that?"
Grif: "No...I wanna say no."
"That's disgusting." Pyrrha recoiled.
Sarge: "We've been sitting tight for days. If I sit any tighter, I'll strangle my seat."
Nora giggled.
Grif: "I'm not worried, I could use the break."
Sarge: "We haven't done anything!"
Grif: "Exactly. Avoiding work is kind of what I do, so if you think about it, I've been on the clock this entire time! I should be getting paid overtime for this!"
"Avoiding work is not work." Weiss pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Well to be fair, he does go through a lot of effort to avoid work." Nora pointed out.
"Yeah." Ruby nodded.
Weiss rolled her eyes.
Simmons: "You get paid overtime?"
Grif: "Uh, yeah. Time and a half over forty hours dude. Time and a half and a half over sixty. It's a shame there aren't any numbers higher than sixty."
"Hold on, what?" Weiss sat up.
"Sixty one!" Nora shouted.
"I'm confused too." Blake said with a bemused grin.
"Hm, strange." Ren hummed, "In the past Simmons has been bad at math. Not Grif."
"He said it so confidently." Weiss muttered.
Simmons: "What?! Seriously?!"
Grif: "I've never gotten it though. One time I thought I did, but it turns out you have to do it in just one week. Could've sworn it was monthly."
"Going over 40 hours in a month is not hard." Yang pointed out. "Oh right I guess it would be hard for Grif."
"Ten hours is hard for Grif." Weiss scoffed.
Simmons: "They told me I wasn't eligible for overtime! I put in sixty hours a week!"
Grif: "Weird. Well tell me they at least match your 401k."
Blake frowned, "What I'm taking away from this conversation is that the Reds and Blues get paid more than the freelancers. More than Wash."
"They get the same pay as Doc." Jaune nodded.
"Wash doesn't even get vacation days." Blake shook her head.
Ruby gasped, "Wait but he does! Because he took Church's place, he's a blue now! He probably gets all the pay and benefits too."
"Well none of the blues get paid remember?" Nora snickered, "They don't exist."
Blake shook her head, Jaune laughed, and Ruby giggled.
Sarge: "Fringe, benefits, I'm tired of all this waiting! Come on fellas, now's our chance!"
Simmons: "Uh, I don't know. You know how I feel about taking chances, sir."
Sarge: "You said Lopez was shot here. Let's go get him back! Leave no man behind Simmons! No robot without his nuts. No warthog unlubed."
A smile spread across Weiss's face, "Lopez is coming back, perfect."
"I don't doubt it." Blake chuckled at Weiss's enthusiasm. "I don't think he'll be happy to see Wash."
Simmons: "That doesn't make any sense."
Sarge: "He's a robot Simmons! We can rebuild him and activate him at any time! Gives us an edge over those pesky Blues. In the battle of ghosts versus robots, robots always win. Except in anime."
"Ghosts vs robots? That sounds cool!" Ruby gasped. "What's anime?"
Jaune shrugged, "Don't know but ghosts fighting robots sounds like something from a comic."
"X-ray and Vav?" Ruby asked, Jaune nodded.
"Well we've seen ghosts vs robots in this show." Blake pointed out. "Er- Programs vs robots."
"The programs most of the time." Jaune added.
Simmons: "No. I mean it didn't make sense why we would do that. He's an awful soldier!"
"Lopez is not an awful soldier, he's probably one of the most competent soldiers they have." Weiss scowled. "He even saved Simmons from the Meta once while Simmons was too busy destroying both mongooses that Lopez himself built."
"Simmons is just jealous I think." Jaune explained.
"Jealousy in Red vs Blue is dangerous, as we've seen with Carolina." Pyrrha pointed out.
"We've seen it with Simmons too, in the memory unit Epsilon-Simmons electrocuted himself." Jaune added.
Sarge: "But he's a great mechanic."
Simmons: "Nothing's broken."
Sarge: "Au contraire. Lopez is broken. You said so yourself. He can get to work on that."
Nora giggled, Weiss raised an eyebrow. "How does that even make sense?"
"It doesn't." Nora continued to giggle.
Simmons: "But, but we would have to fix him in order to- You see he's the- You know what, just never mind."
Sarge: "Aha. So you see the point"
Simmons: "Yes. I see the point. It's just not the one you're making sir. Let's go."
"Wait what was Sarge's point?" Ruby asked.
"That no matter what they were going to fix Lopez." Nora explained.
"I think that's the point that Simmons saw." Jaune pointed out.
Grif: "Yeah(grunts as if he's stretching), I think I'll stay here and take a siesta. Lopez would've wanted it that way."
Grif walks away.
"I'm assuming siesta means break." Weiss commented, frowning at her pronunciation of the strange word.
Sarge: "A siesta! I don't know if I'm angry that he's bucking responsibilities, or happy that he took my multicultural squad seminar to heart. That was one of the best pep talks I've ever given. That's saying somethin'."
"That's saying a lot!" Nora laughed, "I want to hear that seminar, if it's better than his rallying call it has to be the best speech in history."
Blake grinned, "Sarge giving a multicultural seminar would be interesting." Maybe he can end the hate against the Faunus and end tensions between the kingdoms.
Simmons: "But sir, I gave that seminar. You made me work on it for weeks. I even did the traditional Quinceañera dance!"
"Oh Simmons made it? Boo." Nora booed, "Can't be better than Sarge's speech."
"Sarge's speech was really good." Pyrrha agreed. "Though if Simmons gave that speech, it would be interesting to hear."
Blake snorted, "Especially because Simmons has been very offensive towards Robots and Mexicans."
Pyrrha frowned, "I forgot about that."
Sarge: "Oh, couldn't have been that great. I don't even remember it. Let's go, Simmons."
Cut to the Blues watching the Reds leave.
Caboose: "Hey they're all leaving. You know what? I'm going to see our awesome new base. It's so much basey-er than our old one. I've missed it so much!"
"Even Caboose agrees that these bases are better than their old ones." Jaune commented. Nora pouted again.
Caboose runs off to Blue Base, leaving Tucker all by himself.
Tucker: "(scoffs) So much for sticking together…"
Ruby winced, "I feel bad for him."
"Me too." Nora nodded.
"He was the first one to realize that they were the same." Jaune reminded the group, "It's great that they're showing he cares about both teams, not just his."
"He's not one dimensional anymore, none of them are." Blake added. "And even in the beginning when they were mostly one sided, stereotypical personalities. They had depth. They've grown since then, especially Tucker."
Fade to Wyoming and Maine in the locker room, cleaning their guns
"FREELANCER TRAINING FACILITY. MANY YEARS AGO…" appeared on the screen.
Carolina enters and throws her helmet.
Carolina: "Huh, damn it!"
"So much for 'the importance of taking care of our equipment.'" Ruby paraphrased Carolina.
Wyoming gets up and leaves.
"Wyoming knows it's time to leave." Yang snickered.
"It's a good thing Wash isn't there, he'd get himself hurt trying to help." Blake added.
Pyrrha sighed, "Help is what she needs."
"A pat on the head would not help Carolina." Yang quipped.
Pyrrha chuckled, "I think York could help her, but she's too stubborn to listen."
Carolina sits down on a bench, Sigma appears on Carolina's shoulder.
Sigma: "Did the training session go poorly, Agent Carolina?"
"That voice, it's so condescending." Yang growled.
"Like the counselor's." Weiss scoffed.
"As always, the little devil on Carolina's shoulder." Pyrrha crossed her arms. "Even though she gave him up he's still manipulating her. It makes you wonder if he knows he was meant to be implanted in her."
"He may even be bitter that he wasn't, he needs a vessel to carry out his dirty work." Blake explained, "We all know Carolina would make a terrifying Meta."
"Yeah if I was Sigma, I'd pick Carolina over Maine." Jaune nodded.
Carolina: "No, it went fine, just not good enough."
Pyrrha winced.
Sigma: "That is most unusual for you."
The camera focuses on Tex's locker which is in front of Carolina.
Carolina: "Why does she even have a locker in here if she doesn't use our locker room? What is so special about her?"
Sigma: "She does seem to get special treatment, doesn't she? Strange, considering she's not the best Freelancer."
"He's confirming thoughts and feelings Carolina already has." Blake noted, "Appealing more trustworthy to her."
"I wish she could see how manipulative he is." Ruby sighed sadly.
Me too Blake sighed, I wish I could have seen how manipulative Adam was. It is so obvious in hindsight.
Gamma appears over Carolina's other shoulder.
Gamma: "It's probably because of Omega."
"Gary- I mean Gamma!" Ruby gasped.
"He sounds different, a lot more robotic." Jaune commented. "But now they're both back."
"Tex definitely has Omega then, she probably got him not long after York got Delta." Yang commented.
"First logic, rage." Blake nodded.
Sigma: "Now Gamma, we're not meant to speak about Omega. You know the rules."
Carolina: "Well hello Gamma. Does Wyoming know you're talking to another A.I.?"
Gamma: "I am not talking to another A.I. We are both talking to you."
"They planned this." Jaune's eyes narrowed, "This isn't just a random conversation."
"I'm noticing that too." Blake nodded.
Carolina: "Who is Omega?"
Sigma: "He is one of our brothers."
Gamma: "He is the strongest of us."
"He inherited the ability to move from soldier to soldier, if they actually believe he's the strongest of them, then that would be the reason." Jaune explained.
Carolina: "And Agent Texas has him? She uses an A.I.?"
"I think they said he's the strongest to manipulate Carolina." Pyrrha sighed, "Now Carolina will think that Tex is only better than her because of Omega."
Sigma: "Hmm, I don't think it's our place to say."
Gamma: "All the top Agents have an A.I."
Sigma: "Well, except you, Agent Carolina. You chose not to."
Carolina: "That lying-! This all makes sense now. I have been an idiot. She's not better than me, it's all been Omega."
Pyrrha sighed.
"They've got her, hook line and sinker." Yang shook her head.
Ruby glared at the screen, specifically at Sigma and Gamma. "They're both devils on her shoulder, they're bad influences."
Yang had to stifle a chuckle, "Calling Gamma and Sigma bad influences makes what they're doing sound not as bad."
Ruby blushed, "But they are!" She stamped her foot. "And it doesn't make what they're doing any less evil."
Pyrrha chuckled and sighed, "Now I wish Wash had come to cheer her up. Him, or York, or even North. A decent freelancer."
"Or even a decent A.I." Jaune added, "Theta would be an angel on her shoulder." Yang and Weiss smiled at the thought.
"As would Delta." Ren added.
"Uh yeah." Jaune nodded weakly, avoiding Ren's eyes "With his caring algorithms."
Gamma: "Omega's strength is unmatched. I don't know if anyone could beat him. At least, not alone."
Sigma: "Hmm, no. Not alone. We are just fragments, after all. Pieces. Omega and Texas... are something else."
"Did the director order them to do this? Those are his words." Ruby growled.
"If he did I wouldn't be surprised, but Tex is something else. I don't know about Omega being anything other than crazy." Yang rolled her eyes.
Gamma: "But if we work together…"
Sigma: "Together. What an interesting concept, Gamma."
Gamma: "Together."
In the background, Maine grabs his head and growls under his breath.
"I don't like that." Pyrrha winced, "Sigma must be doing something to him."
Carolina: "You've just given me an idea."
Sigma: "I do hope you'll use it well, Agent Carolina. Ideas are some of our most potent weapons."
Carolina: "Don't worry about me; I'll be fine."
Sigma: "Yes, I'm sure you will be."
Carolina leaves the locker room, and Wyoming walks up to the two A.I. as they vanish.
"Whatever Sigma and Gamma set out to do, it sounds like they accomplished it." Weiss grimaced.
"They convinced her to do something." Jaune frowned, "Whatever idea she has, Sigma and Gamma planted it in her."
"Those two are a horrible combination." Pyrrha shook her head.
Cut to the training room floor with Tex, the counselor and the director talking. There is a guard in the background.
Counselor: "How do you feel?"
Tex: "I need to get back into the fight. These targets just aren't doing it for me."
"Oh I know how she feels!" Nora sagged, "Training, training, training, sometimes I just want to jump off the cliff into the Emerald forest!"
"I'm sure Professor Ozpin allows students to do exactly that." Ren commented.
Nora's eyes widened, "Ohhh, perfect."
In the background, Carolina has entered the room and the training room guard is telling her to leave
Training Room Guard: "You have to get out. You need to go. Nobody's allowed in."
Pyrrha noticed the guard and Carolina. "Do you see them?"
Yang nodded, "He should take a lesson from Wyoming's book."
Counselor: "You'll be back in the field soon enough, Texas. For now, just focus on your training."
Tex: "I'm tired of training. I need something, else."
Training Room Guard: "You have to go. Orders are orders, nobody's allowed in."
Counselor: "Have you noticed a change in your aggression, Agent Texas?"
"That has to be Omega." Yang grimaced. "Church said she was always a rotten bitch and that the A.I. didn't do much. But it sounds like he was wrong
"I think that was just Church being.. well Church." Ruby shrugged.
Yang nodded, "She wanted him gone for a reason."
Training Room Guard: "I'm not allowed in. You're gonna have to-"
Tex: "I don't see how that-"
Carolina knocks the guard down and he slides across the floor to their feet. Carolina then approaches the trio.
"She knocked him out." Pyrrha scowled, "He was just doing his job."
"Yeah, that'd be like if we attacked the Atlas soldiers for doing their jobs." Ruby shook her head. "She could have just walked past him, she didn't have to do that."
Director: "Carolina. What are you doing here?"
Training Room Guard: "Euh, what hit me…"
"At least he's alright." Jaune grinned nervously, "Mostly."
Director: "The training room is off limits when we-"
Carolina: "When you're with your pet? Yes, I know. I don't care. I need to talk to you."
Tex: "Pet?! You know Counselor, I think I am noticing a change in my aggression levels."
Yang chuckled, "Yeah I bet, I would too."
"Yeah, didn't everyone call you a teacher's pet? Because of dad?" Ruby asked.
"People who called me a teacher's pet didn't have my class with him. Everyone in my class knew I was not a teacher's pet with dad. He said I was his most 'disruptive' student." Yang explained.
Ruby snickered, "Yeah he told me that too."
Counselor: "Everyone please just remain calm. Carolina, you can use the training room when you are next assigned."
Carolina: "I want an A.I."
Blake's eyes widened, "I think I see where this is going…"
Director: "An A.I.? What has caused this sudden change of heart?"
"Sigma and Gamma's manipulation." Ruby answered with a scowl. "And he probably ordered them to do it."
Carolina: "It doesn't matter. I'm still at the top of the leaderboard."
Tex: "Not the top of the leaderboard."
Pyrrha sighed, "She cares too."
Yang winced, "Yeah.. not surprising now that I think about it."
Carolina: "And you can keep your comments to yourself. I know all about your little secret; what you really are. The next A.I. that comes up is mine."
"She doesn't know what she really is does she?" Ruby asked with a frown, "She can't?"
"I think she only knows about Omega, and that's what she's talking about." Jaune explained.
Tex: "Fill me in, Carolina; what exactly is my secret?"
Director: "Both of you, stand down! Alright Carolina, if you want an A.I. then you will have an A.I. In fact, you can choose: Agents Washington and South Dakota are both due for implantation today. We have two A.I., Eta and Iota, ready for field testing. Which one o' your teammates do you think you should delay? I'll leave that up to you."
Blake nodded, "Here it is."
"Her two A.I." Realization dawned on Pyrrha's face.
Ruby gasped, "Oh no.. I was hoping that would get ret-conned or changed."
"It's not." Weiss grimaced.
"She did not function very well or for very long." Ren paraphrased Delta's quote. "That could mean a lot of things."
"I hope it's not as bad as Delta made it sound." Ruby grimaced.
"Or as bad as Epsilon's implantation in Wash." Blake added.
"I think she just won't be able to focus." Pyrrha commented. "With two minds she won't be able to fight and Tex will easily beat her. It may not be as bad."
Blake and Ruby took in Pyrrha's explanation and sighed in relief.
Ren nodded, "Maybe, hm unless the Director planned this. Carolina is indirectly responsible for Epsilon getting implanted in Wash."
"She's not responsible for that at all, and she's not responsible for the Meta either." Yang cut in quickly and firmly.
Ren met her gaze and nodded, "I see your point, in the end it is the Director who is responsible."
Counselor: "Director-"
Director: "No! If she thinks our decisions are so easy, then let her make one. What's it going to be, Carolina?"
Carolina: "And whatever I choose you will do?"
Director: "That's right!"
Carolina: "Then I want them both."
The group winced and sighed.
Counselor: "Excuse me?"
Director: "Carolina, you cannot have them both."
"So the Director didn't plan this." Ruby frowned, "It was Sigma and Gamma."
"But the Director agreed." Jaune pointed out.
Carolina: "Yes I can! These suits, wherever they came from, are designed to handle a full A.I., and as you are so fond of telling us, these are not full A.I. They are just fragments, and from what I can tell the newer ones are getting weaker all the time. So I want them both. Or, I'm sorry, is that decision too tough for you?!"
"The newer A.I. get weaker." Ren frowned.
Jaune grimaced, "It kind of makes sense, you know the Alpha had to get rid of the most important parts of himself first to survive."
Yang winced, "Which is why he let go of Tex first."
"Then the logic of what they were doing to him, then his anger at what they were doing to him, and so on." Blake scowled.
Director: "Counselor, move Agents Washington and South Dakota back in the schedule, and prepare Agent Carolina for surgery."
"I bet he was thinking 'Ohh goodie, a new experiment.'" Yang rubbed her hands together in a stereotypical villain way. Trying to lighten the mood
"Excluding the cartoon villain hand gesture." Weiss rolled her eyes, "I'd say that's accurate." Blake chuckled.
Counselor: "I think if we let cooler heads prevail, we will-"
Director: "If you wanted to deal with cooler heads, Counselor, perhaps you should have joined the Coast Guard. Prep her for surgery."
Carolina: "You won't regret this."
Director: "No Agent Carolina, I very much doubt that I will."
"He instantly saw the value in such an experiment, despicable." Pyrrha growled.
"Sigma and Gamma were behind it all." Blake added, "Which makes me wonder about Gamma."
"Yeah, we know he ended up with the Meta but he wasn't with him from the beginning." Jaune added. "Why did he help?"
"Both of them are deceitful, it may not have taken much convincing to get Gamma to help." Blake explained. "I don't see a reason why he wouldn't want to help."
The Counselor and Director leave. Tex shoulders past Carolina then turns around
Tex: "Hey, that was gutsy. Hope it works out for you."
"Huh I wonder if that's a friendly gesture from her." Yang commented.
"What makes you think that was a friendly gesture?" Blake asked.
Yang shrugged, "The way she complimented Carolina, and I don't know. It fit's with Tex's personality, you know? Tex is weird like that."
"Didn't look friendly to me." Ruby frowned.
Carolina: "When it does, you'll be the first to know."
Tex: "I look forward to it."
"I don't like the sound of that." Pyrrha crossed her arms.
Tex looks up at the observation room and spots Maine, Sigma, Wyoming, and Gamma looking down at her, before proceeding to leave. Sigma watches her closely from above.
Fade to black.
"Sigma set that entire situation up, and it looks like he convinced Maine to watch so he, Sigma could see what happened." Blake frowned.
"Gamma too." Ruby added.
"I have a feeling Sigma convinced Carolina to do this because he wants to see what will happen to a person with two A.I.." Blake explained. "Like a test."
"The same reason the Director is allowing this to happen." Ruby scowled.
"Sigma is the Alpha's creativity and the Alpha is based off the Director, it makes sense." Jaune sighed.
QUESTION: What do you guys think about how I write BLAKE? Good, bad? In character? Annoying? Does she add to the reactions? Etc.
As you've probably noticed I'm asking this question every chapter. I think I write all the characters pretty well but it's nice to hear about any lingering problems or things I could do better with.
