CN: Sex talk

Hiya!

So it seems I won't be able to commit to a second update during the week that I promised twice. Since there is only a few chapters, I guess I'll keep to the weekly updates and keep you all hanging for a while more lol

Special shout out to 52dreamer52 who binged read everything in 3 days! I was so excited to see your reviews as you went, and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one reading non-stop for days until I finish something! I never thought I would write something worthy of binge-reading, so thank you so much!

Happy reading!

She couldn't sleep, she quickly realized, and as much as she loved laying in Natsu's arms, she needed to get up. She slowly pried herself away from him and stood up, looking at his sleeping form. Not quite believing how much their relationship had just changed. She had seen him naked. Touched him. Much like a lot of things had with Natsu, she felt like it should be more awkward than it was. She smiled softly and grabbed her phone before she left the room, still wearing her night gown. She figured she could stay in it all day. They weren't going anywhere, after all.

She sat on the couch, wondering if she should tell her friends. Cana had called out Levy pretty hard in front of everyone. And her friends had been really interested in knowing how far along they were in their relationship when they had girl's night the week before. Cana had decided that Natsu had to still be a virgin. Lucy admitted she didn't have a definite answer on that, but she had a feeling her friend was right. Natsu had confessed he never had a girlfriend and had never done anything of the sort before. She had a hard time believing he would have had a one-night stand before, but she didn't know for sure. She didn't know that she wanted to know.

'What are you guy's plan for Valentine's?' Cana had sent out.

'My darling Gray is taking me to the aquarium for a date,' Juvia had replied.

'Gajeel and I are meeting for dinner, he's cooking,' Levy had sent out.

'We're staying in, and I'm making his favourite for dinner,' Lucy replied.

'You're cooking for him on Valentine's?' Lucy could only guess the scoff in Cana's text.

'He made breakfast in bed,' she argued. 'And I've been planning on this since we came back from Acalypha. What about you?'

Cana was silent for a moment. 'Laki and I are going to the bar tonight, we'll see what happens.' Lucy smiled. That was Cana's way to say she would get plastered and drunk text Bacchus. 'So if you two are staying in, got any plans?' Cana sent back with a suggestive faced emoji. Lucy hesitated.

'I did, but it kinda happened sooner than I expected,' she sent.

'My dad heard me squeal and I'll die from embarrassment after you give us the juicy bits,' Cana replied and Lucy laughed.

'Then you'll have to live until girl's night.'

'No fair!' Lucy raised a brow at Levy's answer. Coming from someone who didn't even say she was dating…

'I hope you're not that much of a tease for your man,' Cana sent. Lucy could almost hear her mumble it.

"Luce?" She looked over her shoulder, finding Natsu walking her way, still only clad in his boxers. She set her phone down without answering. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah. Why d'you ask?"

"You left. I thought you wanted to stay in bed all day."

"I do, but my back's a bit sore," she explained.

"I can give you a massage if you want."

"You don't have to."

"I know," he assured. "But I want to."

"A massage does sound pretty good," she admitted, taking his hand as he led her back to the bedroom. She laid down on her stomach and Natsu paused. "What's wrong?"

"Is it okay if I sit on your legs? I can stand if not."

"It's fine," she reassured him, shuffling toward the middle of the bed. Natsu straddled her thighs just under the nightgown and slowly, carefully ran his hands along her back. She hummed contently as he started massaging her lower back. She could get used to this.

...

It was a few hours later when she woke up, Natsu laying next to her. She was so relaxed she didn't even want to move, but she really needed to go to the bathroom. She reluctantly pulled herself up and left the room. As she left the bathroom, she noticed the phone she had forgotten on the couch and grabbed it. The latest message, sent from Cana, said 'I bet Natsu won't be a virgin after today.'

She shook her head and pulled up Anna's curry recipe, starting to cook instead of indulging in her friend's antics. It wasn't long before Natsu came rushing out of the bedroom. "I know that smell!" he called out, taking in a deep breath. Lucy's eyes watered at the idea of it. The spice blend was so strong she could barely breathe.

"How am I supposed to surprise you with that nose of yours?" she pouted.

"You surprised me this morning," he mused, nuzzling his nose in her hair. She blushed in-spite of herself. "Oh, so you gonna act shy now?" he chuckled, kissing that sweet spot on her neck, making her blush even more.

"Natsu! I'm cooking!" she giggled, pulling away.

"Fine," he pouted. "Do you need help?"

"I've got it," she assured him.

"I'm gonna have a shower then." He planted a kiss on her cheek and left her to her cooking. By the time he came out, she was dishing out food and he was almost drooling at the smell of the spices that still burned her eyes.

"I haven't been able to practice, so I hope it's okay," she informed him, setting the plates down.

"Smells better than okay," he grinned, shoveling a huge spoonful in his mouth. Lucy watched with apprehension as he pretty much swallowed it without chewing. "Awesome! Thanks, Luce!" She planted a hand on his chest before he could kiss her, facing his confused and slightly hurt look.

"I'd like to keep my taste buds while we eat. We can kiss after."

"It's not that spicy," he argued, and she was surprised to see that he was serious.

"You're a monster," she countered, making him laugh.

"I'd eat fire if I could," he chuckled. She gave him a look filled with wonder that made him pause with a spoon halfway to his lips. "What?"

"I just had an idea for a new character!" she exclaimed. And though he wasn't much of a reader, Natsu was happy to listen to her ramble on and on about a story of magic guilds and dragon slayers, throwing a few questions her way that made her light up in excitement as she had to figure out what the answers would be. Considering she had just had the idea and was working it into a story she was already working on, Natsu was impressed with how much detail she could get when put on the spot. And extremely glad, because he didn't recall she ever talked about her writing much before. He had heard most about it when they were still with Anna, and even then, Lucy had struggled to explain what she was going for. Nothing like her obvious passion now. And yet, her enthusiasm died down abruptly. "I'm sorry, I just got really excited."

"Don't be sorry," he argued. "Sounds like it's gonna be epic!"

"Thanks, Natsu." He didn't know who had ever made her feel like they didn't care for her writing, but he wanted to punch them in the face.

"Anytime you need to bounce off ideas, I'm here, okay?" She smiled softly and leaned forward to kiss him. The spices from his food still made her mouth tingle.

"I know it's Valentine's Day, but would you mind if I write for a bit? You could go to train, and when you come back, we can snuggle and watch a movie."

"Sounds like a great plan," he agreed. He went to brush and packed his gear, kissing her before leaving the apartment. Lucy watched him jog toward the club with a smile on her lips and sat at her computer.

...

"Ow! What was that for?" Natsu exclaimed, rubbing the back of his head.

"You left her alone on Valentine's Day?" Cana scolded him. "Even Gajeel and Gray aren't coming today!"

"She wanted some time to write," he argued. "She even suggested I come!"

"She wanted to write?" she repeated, finally lowering her hand, Natsu eyeing it with apprehension.

"Yeah. Why do you make it sound so weird?"

"It's been a while since she wrote anything."

"She had a new idea for a character," he shrugged. Lucy had told him pretty early on that she wanted to be a writer, but he didn't recall seeing her write much before. Now that he thought about it, he had only seen her write for school projects. Which explained why she was so awkward about talking to Anna about her work.

"Well, I'm glad to hear it. What are you doing after?"

"Going back and we'll watch a movie."

"After you come with me," she declared, leaving little room for argument. "I'll get you one of those chai latte from the coffee shop." He gave her a suspicious glance. "I just wanna have a chat. Laki will be picking me up at 9:30 to go to the bar, so I won't hold you too long."

"Throw in a cinnamon bun in and you're on," he grinned.

...

And so, after class, they showered and changed before they headed to the near-by café. Cana ordered their drinks – she had a latte with a shot of Bailey's – and dragged him to the furthest table, sitting facing the rest of the store.

"What's up?" Natsu questioned. He didn't think Cana and he had ever hung out just the two of them before, and her request was out of the blue.

"What base are you guys on?" she asked without preamble. Natsu studied her, feeling like she expected him to just know the answer.

"Base?" he repeated slowly.

"You don't…" She sighed, running her fingers through her hair. "You don't know about bases. You don't…" She groaned. "You're still a virgin, aren't ya?" He couldn't help a slight blush at the bluntness, but he had been expecting her to ask sooner or later – and this was much later than he had expected.

"Yeah, so?" He tried to act like it was no big deal, but he even he knew that it was pretty unusual at his age. Most of his guy friends had popped that cherry years ago.

"I thought so. Well Natsu, time to talk about the birds and the bees," she sighed, "and the bases."

"You took me here to talk about sex?" he realized, regretting he let her bribe him into this.

"Well, someone gotta. Listen, it's kinda weird for me too, okay, but Lucy is my friend and I need to know she won't be left hanging. As you know, she's only got the worse kind of experience, and it's gonna be up to you to make it better." He glanced back at the empty café. Did he really want to have this chat with Cana in such a public space?

"Alright," he agreed. "Tell me about those… bases or whatever."

"First base is kissing. Second base is chest touching. Third is fingering and oral. Home base is sex. Where are you guys at?"

"Err… Second, I guess." He guessed it meant Lucy was on third, after this morning, but he figured that was a discussion she would have with her friends when she was ready. But Cana seemed to be expecting this because she simply nodded.

He forced himself to listen closely as she told him a bit more about second base, then extensively talked to him about third base – the do's and don'ts and what to expect. She kept her voice down, which he was grateful for, gave him a lot of personal insights, which he was less grateful for, and kept a careful eye on the rest of the store, making sure to change the topic if the barista came too close – which confused him every time. She gave him a few tricks to take initiative, assuring him that it was fine for him to do so, as long as he paid attention to Lucy's responses and checked in to make sure she was okay with whatever it was.

Nothing would beat experience, but she was insistent that he needed to pay attention to the signs Lucy would give him.

"And when you get to home base, you never ever ever go to home base without stopping by every other base first," she repeated multiple times. "And in other circumstances, I would tell you to take the lead, but with Lucy… You might want to let her be in charge until she's more comfortable." He nodded. "And Natsu. If you haven't already, buy condoms. When you get there, you'll want them handy. And practice putting them on if you must." He blushed, but nodded again. Cana's phone buzzed and she picked it up. "Laki's here. Want a ride home?"

"Nah, I'll walk. Her driving is killing me."

"I'm right there with ya," Cana admitted with a laugh, standing up and finishing her latte.

"Hey, one more thing, Cana." She paused, looking back at him. "This… This is gonna stay between us, right?" The way she seemed to contemplate it for a moment made his heart rate pick up.

"Yeah, okay," she agreed. "See ya."

"See ya." He sighed once she was gone and looked back at the barista before standing up to go to the bathroom, glad that Cana had picked a table so close. All of this talk had gotten him half-hard.

...

Lucy hadn't noticed the time or paid attention to her phone since she had sat at her desk to write, caught in her zone. She had eventually shut the door to keep Happy from distracting her. She jumped when she heard a knock and turned to see Natsu walking in.

"Hey," he greeted her.

"Welcome back," she smiled. "How was class?"

"Pretty small," he admitted. "A few people were out on dates."

"I hope Erza didn't give you too much trouble." He considered telling her Cana had given him more trouble, but that implied thinking about Cana and all that she had told him.

"Not too much," he reassured her. "How's your writing coming along?"

"Pretty good," she replied, pretty pleased with herself. "I almost finished the second chapter already, but I could use a break."

"I thought you were already working on it?" he confessed, confused.

"I was but… It's been a while since I worked on it, so I figured I'd take it back from the start. This one is working out better, so far."

"That's great!" Lucy smiled back and went to close her computer, only now noticing the time.

"How come you're home so late?"

"Err… I got held back. Cana wanted to hang out before she went out with Laki."

"Oh… I hope she didn't make you uncomfortable. I didn't think you'd be going to class this morning, so I texted her earlier."

"It's okay," he assured her. "She got me one of those chai lattes and a cinnamon bun, so it was worth it." He'd rather not have to tell Lucy that Cana had made it her personal mission that she had a fulfilled sex-life if he didn't have to.

"I'm glad she made it worth your while," Lucy laughed. "What do you want to watch?" she added, standing up.

"We can watch one of those cheesy movies you like," he shrugged.

"When are you going to stop pretending like you don't like them?" she teased him.

"Just cause I don't mind them doesn't mean I like them," he argued.

"Whatever you need to tell yourself," she chuckled. He mumbled and took her hand to go settle on the couch. He sat in the corner and she sat between his legs, letting her head rest against his chest while they looked for a movie. He chose one and wrapped his arms around her while they watched. They both blushed when there was an on-screen sex-scene that dragged on a bit longer than necessary.

Since they had both slept in late, they decided to watch another movie before going to bed, but then Natsu started fidgeting with the neckline of Lucy's gown. He eventually found his way inside, sensually caressing her until they both lost track of the movie.

He released her when she sat up to turn it off before she threw her leg over his, straddling him. He helped her take his shirt off and slid his arms under her to pick her up, making her yelp and giggle. She didn't argue, leaning in to kiss him as he took them to the bedroom. He wanted to lay her down, but he turned around instead to let her keep straddling him, pulling her in closer, snaking his hands under her gown. He felt her shudder and paused, pulling away from their kiss.

"Is it okay?" he asked. She nodded shyly and raised her arms. It took him a moment to realize. He trailed his hands higher, slowly lifting it. "Are you sure?"

"Yes." He finished taking it off and barely refrained himself from chucking it across the room, instead dropping it next to them on the bed. Lucy pressed herself against him before he could really look at her. The skin on skin contact made their blood rush and when she tugged on his hair, Natsu tilted his head back a bit more to allow her to deepen their kiss while he let his hands explore her back, feeling the soft and flawless skin. She could feel his erection between her legs and they both gasped when she shifted her weight ever so slightly.

They pulled apart and Natsu looked up at her with a content expression, and she lovingly grazed his cheek. He leaned in her touch with a purr and his eyes landed on her chest. He forgot how to breathe for a moment, and she crossed her arms when she realized where he was looking. His eyes snapped back up to hers and he cupped her cheek, softly caressing it with his thumb.

"I didn't mean to stare," he admitted sheepishly. "You're just so perfect." He looked down beside them and took her nightgown. "Do you want it back for now?"

"I… I think so." He gave it to her and closed his eyes and turned his head away to give her privacy. She hesitated for a moment. He was so sweet and caring. She knew she could trust him, but she couldn't help her discomfort, and she finally pulled the gown back over her head, wrapping her arms around Natsu. He hugged her back almost instantly.

"Don't you dare apologize," he warned against her neck when she opened her mouth to do just that. "It's okay, Luce." She held on to him, trying to simmer her emotions before she started crying. It seemed Natsu understood, because he held her a bit tighter.

I know some of you are writers and understand the feeling when someone says something random that sparks a new idea! Valentine's day is over rated, don't worry about spending it however you want!
Cana's intervention is pretty funny to me. I can't imagine I'd ever be the person giving people sex advice, but Cana would definitely be that friend.
Lucy wanted to go further, but she got uncomfortable. It's okay to back down if a situation makes you uncomfortable. If your partner doesn't back down, drop their sorry asses. You deserve better. Find you a Natsu!

Seems every one is chill with smut in the story if it's marked, so don't worry, there will be cuts to warn that it's coming if you want to skip it! (The pun was not intended, but I stand by it)

DaynatheAmazing: I'm glad you're enjoying it so much! And I appreciate the no pressure ;)

Bookwork129: Thank you for the feedback! I will still keep the smut marked for those who would rather skip it, but I don't think I'll cut it out.

Copperreign: Can't have him be a full dumbass all the time haha.

SummeryNights: They're a good bunch, love the chaos factor lol

Valerioux: I'm glad you think my story is worth the wait, it means a lot to me :D

Fafou14: I'm sure you'll find a new story to read, and I'm sure I'll be posting something else eventually (though I need to stop procrastinating my novel so hard)

Mushi9: I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Guest: I'm glad the characters are consistent! Not gonna lie, answering every comment is a commitment, especially as more people join, but I do enjoy it!

52dreamer52: Like I said at the beginning, I admire your dedication and am flattered by your reading! I totally feel wanting to slow down to have more to read but not being able to stop, I'm glad I can write something so enticing!

Shortymcnugget: I'm glad to see you join the party! Glad you made it this far :D
