A/N: I would like to thank everyone who added this story to their favorites and follows as well as everyone who reviewed the last chapter.
I have never been so embarrassed in my life.
Naruto kept her expression completely blank as Fon flickered his eyes from her to Kyoya. The toddler did not look frazzled; he didn't even seem embarrassed over the fact that he had just given them the talk. It had to be the Hibari's family thing because her partner didn't seem to be one bit shy about what had just happened.
I don't even know why I'm embarrassed because this is a natural thing. She took a deep breath and gazed at the blank television screen. From the moment Jiraiya came into her life, she had been helping him with his smut work. There were so many acts in those books that had been so much worse then what they had done. Naruto bobbed her head.
Yup, they hadn't done anything that bad.
"I apologize for giving the two of you the talk but I would rather be safe than sorry," Fon explained. He picked up a teacup and took a sip of his tea; his brown eyes glowed with amusement. "But now that I've gotten that talk out of the way, I can finally say that I-Pin was right about you being very pretty."
Kyoya narrowed his eyes at his uncle. You had your student watching us? That was what she understood from that stilted grey eyes and if she was being honest, it was rather concerning that he had his student watching them. Her lips almost tugged into a frown. A little girl should definitely not watch them, especially when that was the only time her partner felt comfortable with showing affection.
"Is it wise to have a little girl watch us?" Naruto finally asked. She smoothed the wrinkles of Kyoya's shirt and glanced at her partner. There might not have been any expression on the older boy's face but his grey eyes seemed focused on her. Slight amusement flashed before his eyes and she looked away from him.
It wasn't funny at all that she might be embarrassed about having a child watch them when they were being rather affectionate. I can't imagine how scarred that child might be from watching us. She grimaced and darted her eyes to the smiling toddler, who sat right in front of her.
Fon took a sip of his tea. "Oh, I didn't tell I-Pin to watch the both of you but you know little girls."
"You should stop her before it becomes a problem," Naruto stated. Kyoya raised a single eyebrow and fixed his grey eyes on her. Do you really believe that little girls will start stalking from that age? She offered a weary nod and glanced at Fon. The toddler gazed at them with amused eyes as if he found their interaction to be amusing.
There was nothing amusing about informing Kyoya that little girls could potentially become stalkers at a young age. Naruto relaxed her shoulders and rubbed her neck. Even though it had been nearly three years since she ran away from Konoha, she could still remember how some of the girls in the Academy stalked Sasuke.
Fon chuckled. "I'll have a talk with her about this but at least I know now that my niece has nothing to worry about when it comes to her son's dating life."
Naruto blinked and flickered her eyes to her partner. Kyoya curled his lips into a very thin line and his eyebrows twitched as if he didn't like the idea of his mother finding out about them. If he made this reaction in the beginning of our relationship then I would have presumed he wasn't serious about us. She took in a deep breath and waited for her jittery nerves to calm down.
"Do not tell her," her partner said calmly. There was a slight tint of weariness and frustration coloring his tone but that was enough for her to figure out the type of relationship that her partner had with his mother. His mother must be the type to question everything. That had to be the only explanation for why Kyoya had no desire to have his mother know about them.
I wonder if I would have the same reaction if it had been my parents. Naruto rubbed her jaw and darted her eyes down to her thighs before shaking her head. Jiraiya had told her some stories of her biological parents and from what she could infer about her mother…well she would have annoyed her partner just a little bit.
Fon looked at her for the longest time and his eyes inspected her like he was trying to figure her out. She only offered him a blank expression and inched slightly closer to her partner. If the toddler thought a simple look was enough to figure her out then the toddler was wrong. There was no way in hell that she was going to allow him to figure her out.
"Your mother is the type to pry about your relationship with Naruto," Fon commented lightly. He took another sip of his tea and shook his head. The toddler thinned his lips; he offered them a light grimace. "If I do tell her about Naruto and the fact that you are fond of her, then your mother would be here faster than I snap my fingers."
Kyoya grunted. "Mother is too emotional."
"Both of your parents are emotional," Fon agreed with a chuckle.
Naruto blinked and swirled her head at her stoic partner. How can they be emotional but not capable of offering him affection? That was a curious contradiction but then everything about Kyoya was a contradiction if you asked her. She stroke her jaw and gazed at her blank-faced partner before looking at the photo of her partner with his brother.
He looked almost innocent at that age. She stopped the twitch of the corner of her lip and drank in the image of her partner with his older brother. He must have been around five in the photo, but it was already clear from the glint of danger in his eyes that her partner was going to grow up to be the devil. A really good-looking devil that can make me forget everything. She shook her head.
"Father can control himself," Kyoya stated. "Mother is the overemotional one."
Fon snorted and darted his eyes from her blank-faced partner before focusing his attention in the direction of the hallway. He shook his head and took another deep breath. "Both of them would have had made a scene if they heard your loud moans and knew you were having sex in their kitchen's counter."
This could be worse. Her nerves frizzled and crackled at the reminder and she fought hard against the urge to blush. Instead of having a calm toddler talking to either of them, they could have had that perverted mentor of hers here. Now that man would have made a big deal about it from yelling at Kyoya to demanding to know the details of their actions.
"I apologize for that," she finally stated. The words barely came out of her mouth as they seemed more focused on being stuck inside of her throat. Kyoya flickered his eyes at her and raised a single eyebrow. Why are you apologizing? It should be him apologizing for coming in. That was the question coming out of his eyes and Naruto released her breath.
Even if you think we did nothing wrong, I'm not going to be reminded of the fact that we nearly had an audience. She hoped her eyes showed the answer and she guessed that her partner understood her thoughts. That had to be the only explanation for why he grunted and shot a glare at his uncle.
"As long as the two of you use protection and try to keep the noise down then I won't bring it up again," Fon commented. Naruto bit back a groan; she glanced at Kyoya. Her partner looked ready to murder the toddler for reminding them of what happened and the whiskered teen bit her lips. If they weren't in front of his uncle then she would use other methods to calm him down.
I don't think it is wise for him to kill his uncle even if I'm a little bit tempted. She shook her head and glanced at the black-haired toddler. Brown eyes glowed with amusement as if he found her partner's reaction to be amusing. If Naruto was being honest, it was rather amusing to see her partner looked annoyed at the reminder of what happened.
"Uncle," Kyoya barked.
You don't need to constantly remind us of what happened. That was the hidden message behind her partner's word and Naruto chuckled. Her partner threw her a familiar look. A look that promised her that once his uncle was gone that he was going to find ways to punish her. Just the knowledge and that dark look brought out a shiver of delight down her spine.
Fon smiled and cleared his throat. "I apologize Kyoya-kun but your mother will kill the both of us if you get your pretty girlfriend pregnant before either of you go to college."
"I will make your life hell if the both of you ever decide to forgo protection," Kyuubi growled. Naruto pinched her nose and tried to direct her blood down her neck instead of going straight to her cheeks. That damn fox was going to be the death of her one day. She paused. Actually, the fox was going to be the best form of a reminder that she would ever get.
"Uncle, we have no plans for that happening anytime soon."
Her partner could say that again.
"Why didn't you tell me the truth about Naruto or about her plans?"
Tsuna balled his hands into a fist and shot a glare at both his father and the Ninth. He had to wait until his mother was out of earshot before bellowing the question at them. Did those two have any idea of how much life would have been easier if they had told him about Naruto being his distant relative? All of this could have been avoided.
He darted his eyes to the hallway before throwing an irritated gaze at the two adults. He could figure out why Naruto didn't tell him. The whiskered teen never had a faith that he could keep his mouth shut. She might have thought I would get lax. He grinded his teeth together. The teen wouldn't have been wrong for making that conclusion.
He would have definitely relax in his training if Naruto told him that she was fixing the problem. Tsuna paused. Wait, if she fixed her problem then that means I owe her a favor, don't I? My wallet! Tears almost burst out of his eyes and his wallet seemed lighter as the image of a smirking Naruto flashed before his eyes.
"Naruto and I agreed that you needed to focus on your training in case her plan doesn't work out." His father explained. No smile graced his lips and his brown eyes flickered from him to Timoteo. "And I didn't think of telling you because I wasn't certain about her heritage until I found out what was her birth father's last name."
Tsuna blinked. "Her father's last name? You mean Uzumaki is her mother's name?"
"Yes," Timoteo replied. Tsuna frowned and turned his head towards the elderly man, who took a tiny sip of his espresso. His father frowned and raised a single eyebrow at the Ninth. The Ninth sighed and continued on. "I had an interesting talk with her godfather and there is one main reason for Naruto taking her mother's last name. Apparently, her mother came from rather prominent family back in their home."
Tsuna blinked. "You mean like Mammon, right? I heard that he comes from a family that is very famous in Naruto's village."
"That girl never fails to surprise me," Timoteo mused. The brown-haired boy frowned while his father nodded with faint amusement shining through his eyes. The Ninth inhaled the bitter scent of the coffee and continued on. "No one knows where Mammon comes from and yet that girl managed to figure out his identity and also found a way to get him to cooperate."
But you have to worry about what she promised him. Tsuna inhaled the remains of the eggy odor and then exhaled as his stomach rumbled with hunger. He eyed the fluffy yellow goodness that was his breakfast before poking his tongue against his cheek. His older classmate would only be able to make someone like Mammon cooperate was to make an offer.
He knew from experience that Naruto was like the devil when she made offers because she would want something in return.
"Can Naruto take over then?" Tsuna finally asked. His father frowned while Timoteo arched his eyebrows at him. The man did not look one bit surprised by his request and the brown-haired teen continued on. "You saw her! Between the two of us, you have to admit that she is more capable of leading the Vongola Familigia than me."
His father pursed his lips into a thin line, looking almost as if he swallowed a bitter pill. Tsuna clenched his jaw. If he cared about him or the Vongola Family then he would understand that Naruto was the better option. She has the cruelty that is needed in the Mafia. He exhaled and pushed the remainder of his eggs back and forth.
"It is already too late to change," Timoteo commented. The white-haired man picked up his coffee and drank slowly, his eyes never strayed away from him. It isn't that late! I'll be happy to give it to her. This wasn't a job meant for someone like him. "Besides, Uzumaki Naruto has already made a deal with your father."
Tsuna eyed his father. "She didn't demand for money, did she?"
"Your friend might have the same traits as Mammon but she has great ambitions," his father replied. Tsuna nodded and tilted his head to the side while Timoteo let out a quiet hum. "What she wants is for me to give funds for her information organization and in exchange for those funds, I told her that she has to work…with you."
With me? At least you didn't suggest that she works under me. Tsuna shuddered and glanced at the window, where he could see Lambo and I-pin running around without a single care in the world. He envied them. Neither kids understood what had exactly happened nor did they know how terrifying Naruto could be because Naruto seemed nice to them.
If his father had been stupid enough to suggest that Naruto worked underneath him then she would have murder him.
"Naruto might be a better candidate in paper but she is also a wild card," Timoteo explained. The old man picked up his coffee mug, sipped on it for a couple of seconds, and continued on with a tired tone. "When I look at Naruto, I see she has a lot of similarities to Xanxus from that undying rage to that lack of trust. Also I believe she is a more unwillingly candidate then you."
Tsuna snorted. I think she will be more happy to take the job from me. His classmate would have enjoyed getting the money from being the heir of the Vongola Familigia. There was no way Naruto wouldn't have been happy to take the job and while the blonde had no problem with killing people; she was nothing like Xanxus. The blonde cared about her subordinates.
He doubt she would try and kill them like Xanxus tried to do with his own subordinates.
"And what makes you think I'm more willingly?" He demanded. His father shot him a warning look and Tsuna tightened his jaw just a little bit more. That man had no right to give him that look! They chose his path without even trying to ask him of what he wanted to do and when there was a better candidate, then they still didn't even ask his opinion. Tsuna exhaled.
Timoteo inspected him for the longest time as if he was trying to figure him out. His warm, brown eyes did not flash with any understanding but there was no coldness in his gaze. Tsuna gulped down a lump. There might not have been any emotions or threats but something about the gaze that brought a shudder of fear down his spine.
"You are more naïve and innocent then your distant relative," Timoteo commented. He picked up the coffee cup with a trembling hand. Some coffee spilled out of the cup and painted the white table cloth. "I don't know much about Uzumaki Naruto and her childhood but she is a child of the streets like Xanxus."
Iemitsu blinked. "How did you know?"
"They have a certain look and behavior," Timoteo replied in a calm tone. Tsuna blinked as the man clasped his hands together. "You haven't met Xanxus when he first came into my care but he had that same mistrust that Naruto has. I also know from the limited interactions that I had with her that she likes to play dirty and that is why Tsuna-kun, you are the candidate. You don't have the same capability."
I can't even deny it. He scowled and took a sip of his orange juice. His throat burned from the sourness; Tsuna let out a shaky breath and gazed down at his plates. There was no way he could ever compete with Naruto when it came to dirty tactics, not when the blonde seemed to have a different set of morals compared to him.
"Then what if I die without having kids then will she take over?" Tsuna asked. If he knew his terrible luck, he probably would die before he could even have the courage to ask a girl out. At this rate, I might have to ask Naruto on how to get Kyoko to notice me. He rubbed the sides of his head as his father looked at him with faint amusement.
It didn't really surprise him that Naruto and Hibari were together, but the fact they had been together for eight months without anyone knowing about it was an achievement if you asked him.
Timoteo hummed and tapped his finger against the cup. "She will take over if she doesn't have a child and if she has a child then that child will take over when she deemed them old enough."
"I don't think Uzumaki is going to accept that kind of deal so easily," Tsuna said wearily. The elderly man did not look surprised, his eyes only gleamed with amusement as if he already knew the fact. He glanced at his father and his frown deepened when his father threw a scowl at Timoteo. "Is there something that I'm missing? Because neither of you are surprised."
The brown-haired teen scrutinized the two males and exhaled. If those two weren't at all astonished by the knowledge that Naruto would potentially cause a problem. But what would she do? He gazed at the shining window and rubbed his throbbing head. There was a million things that Naruto would do to get rid of an unfavorable deal.
"I know she won't accept the deal," Timoteo commented. Tsuna blinked and the white-haired man took another sip of coffee before focusing his brown eyes on him. Slight amusement and cunningness shone through his eyes. "And I know that child will find a loophole that would ensure her freedom. If she plans to be a figurehead or her child then that is fine as long as she picked someone that has the familigia interest best heart."
Why do I have a feeling that if I ever tell Naruto about this, that she is going to make my life hell.
He hoped that no one ever told her about this.
"What did she give you to make you take the risk of betraying me?"
Mammon picked up his soda can and stared at the calm eyes of his boss. It had taken the whole night for Xanxus to calm down from his loss and only now did his boss seem ready to talk to him about his actions. A quick pop and the soda can began to frizzle as all eyes focused on him. His fellow Varia members looked at him with curious eyes.
Should I explain things to him? He tapped his finger against the can. There was no need for him to explain everything but he did have to give some kind of explanation or else he would have to run away again. Mammon exhaled and shut his eyes. The man did know about his greed for money but Xanxus also knew that he would never betray him for something light.
The fact his clan had been annihilated to just two members was enough for him to join up with Uzumaki. I don't even care about the clan that much. His nephew's eyes and his sister-in-law's eyes flashed before his eyes and his heart twisted with subtle pain. Death was natural. It was a blessing at times but for someone to murder his family…that was unforgivable.
"She offers to help me get the money that belongs to my family," he explained with a blank tone. Xanxus raised a single eyebrow and took a sip of his whiskey while Squalo and Belphegor gazed at him with slightly wide eyes. Those fools must have believed he had been born in thin air. "It seemed like one heir was foolish and left behind so much money back home."
Belphegor twirled his knife and inspected him carefully. "It must be a lot of money for you to consider betrayal."
It is more money then you can imagine, unless the council decided to drain the money. He took a deep breath and sipped on the sugary drink. They would have ample amount of time to drain the money from the clan's accounts. Mammon inhaled and exhaled as everyone else looked at him with curious eyes. That foolish relative of his had no idea of how important money could be.
"Money isn't your only motive," Xanxus observed. His red eyes gleamed with accusation and the man raised his gun just a little bit higher, almost threatening him to talk. If he knew his boss well enough then he knew that was a definite threat. "If it was money then you wouldn't be quick to betray me. What did that little bitch offer you that you would double-cross me? What did she offer that you want to keep her happy?"
Nothing gets passed you but your arrogance nearly costed us. He tilted his head to the side and stared at them with blank eyes. If that man had done like he suggested and be weary of Uzumaki then he could have potentially won the whole thing. Mammon shook his head and blew a strand against his hair. The only good thing that came from yesterday night was that those children had some moral.
If Uzumaki had managed to corrupt them they would have been dead.
"She told me that a member of my family murdered the other members of my family," he commented. Squalo coughed while Belphegor's eyes lit up with interest. Of course that little sloth would be interested to know about that detail. Xanxus gulped down his whiskey like there was no tomorrow while the others continued to inspect him. "Of course, I told her that it would be impossible for a single member to do it."
Squalo snorted. "So she offers you revenge as well? I never pictured you as someone who wants revenge."
I want to know the truth as well because I can't trust a child to know every detail of that day. He frowned and shook his drink just a little bit. Revenge for the murder of his family was way too pointless for him, even though he wished agony for the boy who could have potentially murdered his family. Mammon exhaled and darted his eyes to Xanxus.
His leader gazed at him with unreadable eyes but the little twitch on his shoulders told him that the man was critically thinking about the whole thing. So many people presumed his boss was just an angry man, who lacked any brains but Xanxus would have never climbed up as high as he did if he wasn't intelligent. Oh no, the young man was probably analyzing the whole situation.
"If it was revenge then you would have never taken up her offer," Xanxus observed. The whole room grew quiet as red eyes gleamed with an intense curiosity and Mammon tapped his finger against his can. The man leaned further against his chair and looked at him with burning eyes. "And that girl has a similar personality to you, which means that what she wants in exchange is what making you compliant to her."
Mammon pursed his lips into a thin line. His Boss was thinking in the right line but should he just confess as to what made him compliant to such a petite little teen? Those red eyes burned and demanded to know if he was right; it would be a matter of minutes before his boss returned to his usual bad temper. He exhaled and put down his drink.
"She is more similar to you than me, Boss." Xanxus snorted and Mammon curled his lips into a little smirk. "If you wanted to get what you believed was rightly yours through dirty means then that girl wants to cause chaos in our home. For someone from her family to desire the destruction of our hometown means that she is fucked up."
Red eyes gleamed with interest.
"Oh? And what could your home had done to make her want her to cause destruction?"
Mammon shrugged.
"Try and get answers from her because I'm not prying information out of her."
A/N: So there may be one or two more chapters of this arc before the next arc happens. The Future arc will happen after the next arc. As you can see from this chapter, Naruto had some interaction with Fon. Tsuna finds out a little bit more about Timoteo's plans and Xanxus has now some interest in Naruto's plans.
Please do tell me of your thoughts on this chapter.
