"Wot?" Rose asked dumbly. Did she look like their deity? Oh, this could mean trouble. They better not try to sacrifice anything to her or she'd flip.
"Oh, right, of course, in the scripture it is written." The woman started, linking an arm with Rose, leading her away from the garden. "Come with me. Leeta, go see that our other guest is taken care of." The hand maiden, Leeta, scurried away excitedly. Rose didn't like the sound of that, but she needed to know more, so she walked with the woman.
"You had foretold your return; a century shall pass and a you without knowledge would return to us. We are to teach you as payment to our savior." The woman continued, leading Rose down a long corridor.
"Teach me?" Rose asked as they came to a large pair of double doors. She eerily noted the carvings in the gold; roses. "Wot are ya supposed to be teaching me?"
"Your story." She answered simply. The woman motioned at the guards and the unlocked the doors, pushing them open.
It was a small oblong room that reminded Rose of a place of worship. There, directly in front of them, was a wall to ceiling tapestry of Rose. There was no mistaking it. There she was, woven twenty feet tall and bathed in golden light. At the bottom, in block letters, were the words BAD WOLF.
"My name is Mother Ophelia the Third. I am descended from the ones you saved; far in our past but soon in your future. You tasked my ancestors with the knowledge you need."
"The Game Station." Rose said. "Wot happened to me, tha's wot this is about, yeah?"
"Indeed. A battle for Earth against the Daleks, a genocidal race engineered with the task of wiping out all they deem unfit for life. Those who aren't Dalek are dead. Our planet was one of the few in the galaxy spared from the Time War."
"Tha's good. Many other civilizations weren't as lucky." Rose said mournfully.
"I cannot reveal our planet's history, per your request, but know that you will save our people and in thanks, we tell of your story."
"Of course, revealing future knowledge is dangerous. Better I not know wot I did."
"There is one thing, however, that you wished we tell you. You told my ancestor your story, wished it to be passed down to whomever would take charge next until your return."
"I thought you said my story was known by all your people?"
"The story that pertains to our planet, yes. This story, however, is one you already know, one that has yet to happen. Your first time becoming the power we praise."
"I told your ancestor how I became the Bad Wolf?" Rose was shocked. As far as she remembered, she couldn't remember. How could she tell a story she didn't know?
"Yes." Mother Ophelia lead her down a corridor out of the shrine room, taking them lower and lower down the large palace. "Remember the power is within you, it does not control you just as you do not control it. The Bad Wolf is a being that coexists inside you, so much so that there is no way to draw the line between who you are and who she is. This power is to be honored and respected."
"So, I'll never be able to use it again."
Mother Ophelia stopped and chuckled to herself. "Never? Haven't you already used it?"
"At the GameStation, yeah, but I don't think wiping out entire fleets of Daleks is something imma do again."
"True, the power inside you is no longer as great as it was, but that does not mean it is not still there. You are still destined for great things, Goddess."
"Wait, I'm trying to understand. I get why you need to be cryptic, but this is a bit odd. You're tellin' me that I still have the Bad Wolf inside me to the point where I can tap into that power?"
"Precisely." Mother Ophelia stopped in front of a large door that practically screamed dungeon entrance and faced Rose. "One last thing. Know you are right. You shall share your life with the one you call Doctor. As long as his timeline goes on, yours shall as well."
Rose stood shocked for a moment. Forever, it was finally possible. Not just that, it was real. She would spend the rest of her life with the Doctor because he could spend the rest of his with her. Without thinking, she laughed and embraced Mother Ophelia, squeezing her tight. When she let go, the royal was quite ruffled and perplexed. Rose coughed.
"Sorry." She muttered. Mother Ophelia just game her a warm, motherly smile. No wonder they called her mother, she radiated that energy far more than one of a Queen or Empress.
"Go to your Doctor. You are free to leave."
"Thank you." Rose bowed her head, but Mother Ophelia lifted her chin.
"No need for such things, now go."
Mother Ophelia made her way down the corridor, but Rose called out to her.
"Wait! Why did you imprison him if you were just gonna let 'em go?"
"Well, it was a good way to gain privacy, don't want all your secrets out. It was per your request."
Rose chuckled. She never did miss a chance to poke fun at the Doctor. They nodded goodbye to one another. When Mother Ophelia turned the corner, Rose walked carefully through the door. There were no guard. In fact, the chair where she assumed the guard would have been only had the Doctor's coat hanging from it.
The Doctor was in a fairly large cell, pacing back and forth and muttering to himself. Rose was digging in his bigger-on-the-inside pockets when he started ruffling his hair manically, shouting at himself to think.
"How is it you find yourself in these situations?" Rose asked the Doctor teasingly, sonic in hand
"Rose!" The Doctor exclaimed, running up to the bars. "Are you alright? Did they hurt you?"
"Better than yourself, I see." She joked, pointing to his messy hair.
"How'd you get here?"
"No time, we gotta get out before they find I'm gone." Rose said, coming up with a half-truth that would get him to stop asking questions. "They think I'm their goddess, I only just slipped away."
She soniced the lock and the door flew open, the Doctor immediately going for the hug. Rose squeezed him for only half as long though, because he immediately pulled back. He stared into her eyes for a long while, flitting his eyes across her face.
"Wot's wrong?" She asked him, huffing a laugh. "Really, I wasn't in any…"
But before she could finish, the Doctor came crashing down on her. He crushed his lips to hers and kissed her for all he was worth. Immediately, she was consumed by him. He wrapped his arms around her and gripped her like a lifeline. Rose couldn't move her arms from where they were trapped between them, since he was holding her so tight, so she gripped his lapels till her knuckles turned white and savored every second she could.
She couldn't believe everything that had happened in such a short span of time. She wanted to tell him everything right then and there, not just what she had done to get to this moment, but that her promise of forever wasn't just a feeble dream, it was a fact. That she could be his and he could be hers for all of time. But, in that moment, her mouth was occupied with his. She swiped her tongue against his bottom lip, tasting tea with honey and something else that she could only describe as purely him.
He groaned out loud, opening his mouth to her like an invitation. She greedily accepted. They swayed slightly as their tongues danced, entangled in one another. They spent a long time in each other's arms, gripping and panting and kissing as though their lives depended on them being as close as possible.
Rose felt a burning in her lungs, the need to properly breathe growing more and more insistent. The Doctor felt it too, his past boasts of superior Time Lord biology failing him. As if they could read each other's thoughts, they began to slowly come down.
They parted with one final sweet kiss, much less urgent, and pulled only far enough away to take in the stuffy dungeon air. Rose's eyes fluttered open to see the Doctor staring intently at her.
"I didn't ask." He croaked.
"You never have to." She replied.
When the guard burst through the front door was when they finally ran back to the TARDIS. Hand in hand, laughing the whole way, they went home.
