A/N:
@michiko-chan27: Gomen. I couldn't give you all of the omakes last week because I wasn't finished with PridexTsuna. But thank you for waiting.
@Reasta: Thank you. I understand why you wrote a review at the very end. Silent readers are that silent. Hahaha!
Thanks for the reviews! You might want to read chapter thirty-five before you read this. Bermuda is not present because he's searching for Namimori. You'll figure out the rest. Hahaha!
Anyway, go on. Don't mind me here.
Omake: (Chapter Thirty-Five: Wishful thoughts)
'Being summoned by Tsunayoshi must be nice.' Fon thought as he stared at the sky where he can see the biggest and the most beautiful summoning circle he ever saw in his entire life.
His heart thrummed with so much want. Something he never felt for a long time. Just listening to the soothing voice that accompanies the circle makes him feel so calm yet trapped. Like that circle is the only salvation he will ever see, that will only appear once and just for the demon who owns the sign drawn on the center of the circle.
He sniffled in sadness, grief and desire of not being able to be summoned. Then paused when he realized that he's crying. That he's feeling things he never knew still existing within him. Taking out a handkerchief as Skull dissolved to colorful particles and went for the summoning circle that is slowly vanishing, he wiped his face of tears as he stomped down those negative emotions he must not feel.
Those emotions will lower his guard and will cause him to lose control. He cannot be the dragon who kills. He cannot be the dragon who has no control. He must be calm and composed. He has to be.
However, he still yearned to he summoned like the cloud arcobaleno had been.
'Be real, Lal. It's for Skull.' Lal berated herself.
But she knew it can't be helped. To do so much effort to summon one demon and offer him a contract afterwards, it will be wonderful to appear on the other side of the circle to see the human who made them feel like they're special. That they mattered and they aren't discriminated in the Mundane world. That they belong anywhere.
Accompany it with this compelling and encompassing voice that utters the most heartfelt words? God. Tsuna is pushing himself to his very limits, and probably surpassing it even.
Lal smiled bitterly as Skull vanished after his name got called. Tears are worth it for this. She won't care if Viper or Colonnello will tease her for crying. Skull's experience is worth to be jealous for. And to even make the toughest woman of Arcobaleno cry, Tsunayoshi Sawada is such a powerful being who will never stop to amaze her.
'Please someone answer his call.' Colonnello begged inwardly as he cried for the hidden feelings expressed from the voice. 'Please. Someone. Anyone.'
Colonnello can't bear it.
Tsuna's voice was full of solace, understanding and acceptance. But he sounded so insecure. He fears rejection, abandonment and anger. He is searching Fiant with the use of his sky aura but it doesn't mean any demon can go for him. The summoner is afraid that he's playing favorites. That he's summoning one demon only over a million, trillion demon he could get. A reason why he fears anger.
Hell. He would have gone in himself to assure and cheer up Tsuna that it's okay for him to summon someone particular. To summon anyone. But he knew it's not for him or for any of them. It's only for Skull who deserve such attention and devotion. Who deserve the attention of a sky that treasures him like he's a living being despite his disposition as a demon.
And he knew he's not worthy nor good enough to receive such attention from that Sky.
When Skull went for Tsuna, Colonnello tried his hardest to keep himself upright. To not fall on his knees out of sheer satisfaction and misery. Cause regardless of how much he wanted Skull to go there for their human, he also wants to be the one who get to be summoned by that same person.
Colonnello couldn't help himself from sobbing. How he wish he's also worthy enough to be acknowledged like that.
'You're an impact to us, Tsunayoshi.' Verde praised mentally as he bowed his head, not wanting anyone to see his tears.
For once, Verde wondered if he should treat the situation a fair game or an unfair one. Is it fair to call Skull because he spent his time with him first? Is fair to call Skull when he didn't call Reborn? Is it fair to give Skull such gift for being the unluckiest among them? But Verde... Why would you call it unfair too if you're not putting your effort in it? Do you even know what effort means aside from dedicating all your attention to your research and inventions? Why call it unfair if Skull was the one who experienced the first intricate summoning circle Tsunayoshi made which gives the Cloud such rights to be summoned again with more beautifully made circle?
He looked up to the sky just as the summoning circle starts to fade. He should just marvel the sight, the voice and the words. He should just remember everything for safe keeping cause he knew he couldn't jot them down right after he got back to the house just yet. He'll just ask Skull what happen when he gets back.
Cause in that way, he will also feel like he was summoned there too.
'Punishment, Reborn. This is your punishment.' Reborn reminded himself as he gripped the brim of his hat to mask his expression.
He contented himself by seeing Tsuna's version of summoning circle in the sky from the window and hearing the melodious voice chanting those wonderful words he thought he will never hear again from the inside of the house. He contented himself with the fact that the brunet is alive and awake. He contented himself of hearing the hope in that voice he loves hearing so much to feel trust himself, that they'll see each other again.
How ironic, though. He can hear him, but he can't see him. He can hear him, but he can't go to him. He can hear him, but he's not the one being summoned to stand in front of him. He can hear him, but the other can't hear him.
Ah. No. It's not irony. It's torture.
This is what he had been doing to Tsuna. This is what his summoner suffered because of him. So why is he complaining in the inside that it's painful? That it hurts? That he's in misery when Tsuna endured this kind of treatment from him for months? He doesn't have the rights to justify his actions. Heck, he doesn't even deserve to hear the voice of the human who loves him so dearly, who he loves eanestly too.
Yet, this is torture. A torture that tempting him to come and end his punishment. To come and end everything for the last. To come and never see him again. Will it be a sin to be tempted for it? To at least see a glimpse of him? See those beautiful features he always stares at whenever they sleep together in a bed? Those red lips that speaks his name with velvety and full of adoration? Of awe? Those brown eyes that flashes orange whenever they see him?
"Patience." He whispered to himself as he felt Skull's aura going somewhere far. Somewhere his summoner is. "Patience, Reborn. If he needs you, he'll call you. If he forgives you, he will call you. Patience."
He sighed, letting go of his hat. Right. Patience. As they say, distance makes the hearts grow fonder.
"I love you, Tsuna." He whispered to the wind before he turned around to go back to his seat and eat his cooling meal.
'This is interesting.' Viper mused to himself as he followed the others inside the house.
He closed the door behind him and watched as they dispersed. Lal went for the backyard. Colonnello situated himself on the couch. Verde walked for the stairs to get to his room. Fon went straight for the bathroom. And Reborn is still in the dining room, eating. Viper may not be a rain like Colonnello and Lal, but he knew how to be sensitive enough to know who's hurting the most.
Lal is berating herself for wishing her name to be called. All because she knew how valuable effort is, when others disregard such a thing. She appreciates hard work and insatiable hunger to survive. It reminds her when she was in military in where praises were rarely heard and insults were always shouted. Because of that, she wants to answer Tsuna's call and give him good words of encouragement.
Viper wonders if Lal can see Colonnello's efforts to be acknowledged though. Oh well. He's gonna leave that for Tsuna to fix.
Colonnello though is between comforting Tsuna and either relieved or in grief for not experiencing such wonderful kind of summoning since he deemed himself unworthy. Because he thought he has to improve more. That his sister has to acknowledge him first before he will deem himself worthy of Tsuna's attention.
Viper mentally cackled to himself, it is Tsuna's problem now. That human can see through the siblings' relationship problem. He's that observant and perspective.
In terms of Verde, Viper doesn't know what's in the scientist mind. But he could take some guesses. One, got fascinated to Tsuna's adjusted summoning circle. Two, he doesn't know how to treat the situation. And three, he's scolding himself for not putting much thought on pursuing Tsuna as his summoner. Verde isn't that complex. He's... Just troubled. He knows how to deal with humans and demons, but he doesn't know how to show emotions he wanted to convey to them. Like when he's angry or annoyed, but his face can't give them off because he puts scientific facts on them so they suddenly come out of his mouth as a sign of insensitivity. It's pretty hilarious when the scientist just points them like they're facts. But not everyone can handle such blunt talks, except for those people who got used to him.
Viper suddenly remembered Luce's expression when Verde tallied off her personality towards the latter. She looked so hurt when the Lightning summarized everything to 'uncaring and unreasonable'. Reborn doesn't know, but Verde based those after him and everything she had done to the Arcobaleno. He wonders if Tsuna can do something about that issue though.
Fon is possibly confused with his emotions right now. It was a minute, but Viper saw what he saw. Negative emotions that he never saw even once on the Chinese demon. He always has this calm face that was honed for years, and not even Luce could break it. Let's just say that when it comes to poker face, Reborn trumps on that while Fon goes for the calm and serene look. But to see jealousy in his face of all emotions, Fon will be damned. He's becoming a real being, not some robit like thoes ones Verde makes.
Viper wonders what Tsuna will offer to Fon if he realizes that the latter is top two on the list of those who wear masks, just below Skull. The brunet will probably have fun making Fon worry all the time. He's fond of being reckless for the sake of his goals.
Moving from his spot, the esper went for the dining room. He didn't look at Reborn when he picked up his food. But he can still see the hitman in his peripheral view.
Reborn may have thought that hearing Tsuna's voice and seeing the latter's summoning circle is either a treat or a punishment. But knowing Reborn now that he's changing for the better, he's definitely taking them as punishment. And it's good. While he suffers, Viper will keep an eye on their summoner so Tsuna won't fall out of love. And knowing Tsuna (Why does it feel like he's taking care of two children?), he won't stop loving the demon who captured his heart. So faithful, so naive. Yet, he also know what's best for him and what he can do for himself before he succumbs too far.
Viper vanished from the quiet Arcobaleno house and appeared just beside Ietsuna. He sat beside the old man and started to eat his own portion while they watched Skull lean on Tsuna for him to not to fall over due to the latter's power. He can relate so much since he too suffered how powerful the brunet is, and to think it's growing more and more. What they felt in Fiant wasn't even the fullest strength yet.
"Skull is the cloud of your group, yes?" Ietsuna queried before he sipped his tea.
"Yes." He answered.
"Sometimes, the sky and the cloud are the closest, rivaling the tandem of the sky and the sun." The old man gave him a side glance. "If you aren't careful of how you treat that ancient one, you'll see yourself getting surprised every single time he opens his mouth. Not everyone is entitled to show themselves to every people they meet. We pick the right person to show who we really are."
Viper shrugged. "I'll wait. It will be worth it."
"Oh. Hey Mammon!" Tsuna called out from their spot with a big wave and a big smile. "Welcome home!"
The Mist nodded, heart fluttering with warmth. "I'm home. And it's Viper."
Skull and Tsuna only laughed at him in response to his latter statement.
