Ap'lek
I ripped the fabric away from Kylo's wound and used it to tie a tourniquet then applied heavy pressure.
I heard the comm link beep, and Kuruk saying "We need medical assistance." There was a short reply, obviously someone on the other end asking for more information, but he simply said "It's the Supreme Leader." And ended the call.
A team of medics, officers, and droids were swarming around us moments later, pushing me away to tend to Kylo.
Others knelt next to Hux, the slain guard, and two Knights who had fallen as well.
I recognized Cardo and Vicrul amongst the dead and felt a stab of regret.
"What is the meaning of this?" I heard a man bellow and I looked to my left to see a graying man with officer bars, speaking to me as if I owed him an explanation.
"Hux made an attempt on the Supreme Leader's life." I told him. "And has paid for it with his own."
I knelt down and picked up the black box Rey had been stabbed with and saw six empty syringes inside.
Poison.
Of course he'd poisoned her, the fucking coward.
I called a medic to me. "Lady Rey has been poisoned with whatever was in these." I said, handing it to her. "We need an antidote immediately."
She nodded her understanding and took the box from me.
"Lady?" Grey guy spat. "That is Rey of Jakku, and the murderer of Supreme Leader Snoke! She is no lady, and no concern to us. And if General Hux poisoned her, he only did us a favor." He looked at the medic. "We will not waste time or effort with an antidote-"
I extended my hand toward him and he gasped, eyes widening in shock as he tried, fruitlessly, to pull in air.
"Try to listen carefully, I don't like repeating myself." I hissed. "Saving My Lady is not an option, nor a matter of opinion. She must be saved at all costs, am I understood?"
The man nodded quickly, and I dropped my arm, releasing him.
Kylo and Rey were both taken to the infirmary, where Kylo's wound was expertly mended using the latest bacta methods.
Thankfully, the wound was a clean cut, and while it had severed many veins and vessels, it had missed the femoral artery.
It was severe enough that he wouldn't have use of his leg for several days while it properly healed. More if he agitated it.
For now, he was heavily sedated, with myself or another Knight guarding him at all times. He was too vulnerable to be left unattended.
After tending to our own wounds, the worst of which being Ushar's broken arm, we each took rotating shifts guarding him or his Mate who was in a room down the hall.
While Kylo's condition improved, Rey's steadily declined.
The doctors were able to analyze the poison, finding that she'd been injected with a witches brew of toxins, including an anticoagulant.
"What do we do?" Trudgen asked, as we watched the medical team frantically try to save her.
I didn't presume to make decisions for my leaders Mate, especially when those decisions were literally life and death. But, neither could he if he was unconscious. I looked at Trudgen and sighed. "We have to wake up Kylo."
