"Livvie."

"Fitz."

Olivia sat up and Fitz kept the ice pack to her head. She fainted in his driveway.

"I had a really weird dream. Pinch me."

"I'm not pinching you."

"Are you okay Ms. Pope?"

"I'm fine Amelia. I have to call my mom."

"She called when you were passed out. I told her you weren't feeling well. She is calling back to check on you later."

"I dreamed about surrogacy, egg donors and sperm donors."

"That is a weird dream."

"Ms. Pope I'm hungry."

"What did Angela get you for lunch?"

"A sandwich and chips. The delivery man brought the food to the door. I want more food. I usually only eat at school."

"What?" Fitz said.

"Mom and dad give me cereal for breakfast and dinner. They said I have to eat at school, so I won't be hungry."

"Abby didn't cook?" Olivia asked.

"No, she bought food at restaurants, but she never got me anything. Dad moved to his own house, and he never answers his phone. When the cereal is gone, I have to wait until I get to school to eat again because there is never any food in the house. Only cereal."

"That's terrible." Olivia said.

"I drink water, so I won't be hungry. Mom said she doesn't like me, so she won't buy me food."

Olivia's wide eyes had tears. Amelia was skinny, but Olivia didn't know she was starving with Jake and Abby. Now Olivia knew why Elana always brought two apples to school. The cafeteria was really strict about getting seconds. Amelia had to be starving the whole day.

"I'm sorry Amelia."

"Why are you crying Ms. Pope?"

Fitz excused himself when his phone rang. It was Angela.

"Hello?"

"I found a relative of Abby's. She has an uncle in Alaska. He sounded drunk on the phone. I told him about the car accident, and he said he'll keep Amelia. He then started rambling about getting another check for her living in Alaska and buying beer. I'll keep looking for you."

"I'll call you in a few hours Angela."

"Okay."
