Sorry for the delay in posts. Life has been hectic and hard and I keep breaking myself. But please enjoy.
Lloyd banked up hard. He didn't want to stay low and along the ground. The person he picked up, the young women swung around behind him in a swift motion. Holding on tight around his waist. He had absolutely no idea what to say to her. Cole was farther ahead but Morrow and Harumi caught up right behind him. Harumi looked absolutely furious. For a second Lloyd wondered what the fuck he did this time. But then realized that it wasn't him that Harumi was glaring at. But at the person seated behind him. Morrow looked more apprehensive than her and for once was not swearing like a sailor. But gestured ahead to Cole zooming away. Meaning that they needed to not waste time and catch up to him quickly.
"I need to go see if my family is ok. Are those birds going to attack us again if we land?" Lloyd asked her.
The pause was uncomfortable for them both.
"I said are those devil birds going to follow or attack us" Lloyd asked harshly.
"I heard you the first time. And no. I asked them to back off. Hopefully they are going to listen this time" She snapped at him. Her voice, though young and higher pitched than either Harumi or Brees held the slightest bit of familiarity to it. Her accent and language he could understand.
Lloyd was processing this when he saw Cole land on a relatively flat and open spot up ahead. His blood ran cold when he put two and two together. This person he just saved had told the birds to back off. Had she told them to snatch Bree to begin with? Glancing around he looked for more of the Rocs and saw none. Morrow caught his eye and looked around doing the same. Harumi spared the girl another nasty glare and jumped down and ran to Bree and Cole before Morrow even dropped his dragon.
"What in gods good green fuck just happened here?" Morrow asked. His face a mixture of confusion and utter disgust. "And who the hell is she? Did the seagull on steroids drop her too?"
Lloyd drew up a ball of brilliant green energy, held it for a fraction of time and then blasted it off at a set of rocks below them. The energy hit the rocks and blew them apart. Dust and pebbles being the largest pieces left in a cloud of grit. slowly Lloyd stalked a little closer to the young women. And he looked pissed.
"And what do you mean they hopefully will listen to you this time? Like they didn't listen well enough when you told them to snatch my cousin? What the hell did you want with her? Are you responsible for getting us trapped here?" Lloyd asked with a snarl to his voice.
"I never asked Sesmi to grab Brianna, I had asked him to get a closer look to make sure I wasn't off my rocker and I really was seeing who I thought I was. She looks so different in so little time." The young woman answered with a roll of her eyes and as she tossed her hood back to revel her face.
"How do you know my cousins name?" Harumi asked. Her voice lower, smoother but no less deadly.
"Liar, Brianna has, or well had two cousins, Nadi and Hurem. Both of them have to be dead at this point or the sword would have called them here just like it called her." She responded no less smoothly. Reaching and grabbing the stray whisps of hair and gathering them up into a high smooth pony tail on the top of her head once again. Shimmering but as black as could be and stick straight. Much closer in texture if not color to Harumis.
"She is not my cousin, Bree is my friggin cousin, on her fathers side. Harumi is from her mothers side." Lloyd answered in annoyance. He didn't want to come across as related to Harumi. Not when he had the ridiculous hots for her still. That would be ten shades of creepy.
"You can both fuck right well off as far as it matters. Who the hell are and what the hell do you think you were gonna do here?" Morrow interjected. As of recently he had been much more pleasant to deal with and talk to. Now he sounded like the old short tempered Morrow again.
"Will you just shut the hell up Morrow. I wasn't talking to you." Lloyd yelled loosing his temper. His eyes burning a brighter green.
"I can say whatever I want greenie weanie, what makes you think you are any sort of the boss of me" Morrow yelled back. The wind picking up around him not so subtly.
The young woman looked at them both in annoyance and then leaned and looked around them to see how Bree was doing. Cole was helping her to her feet and held her steady while she rubbed her face and then her eyes. Harumi had walked over and was talking to her quietly and gesturing to the young women in the dark clothing while Morrow and Lloyd kept arguing loudly.
"Moria?!" Bree gasped loudly. Stepping forward only to walk right into Morrow because she wasn't paying attention.
"Hold on Bree, how can you be sure this is... someone you know. Here, in Djinjago. Land of the dead" Morrow said stopping her.
Bree and Moria stood standing and staring at each other gobsmacked. Bree waved her hand and a glow of purple magic washed over Moria. Doing... Nothing? Before breaking out in a grin.
"Its pretty hard to fool the master of magic this close up" Bree said squealing. Pushing Morrow out of the way she stepped forward and grabbed Moria in a rough hug, which she returned.
Morrow had stepped back and into Lloyd. Before they could start fighting again Cole muscled his way in between them and grabbing each by the shirt collar held them away from each other. There was no way they were getting out of his grip without tearing what was left of their clothing to shreds.
"Moria... she was the daughter of one of the Djins guard" Harumi questioned quietly.
Turning Bree and Moria faced Rumi.
"Yes, mom was actually the head of the guard. Before everything fell. You are?" Moria asked.
"Aside from I really can't wait to hear how the hell you are alive introductions are in order. Moria... This is Cole my husband, Lloyd, my cousin on my fathers side, Morrow, my techinically adopted brother on my fathers side and this here is Harumi. You would have known her as baby Hurem" Bree said pulling Harumi closer to her side.
"This is baby Hurem? You can't mean? Oh my god." Moria gushed and reached for Harumi's hands. "So you and Bree are here to take the sword back from that asshole and free everyone in it! I'll take you right to him."
With a whistle Moria called out loudly, "Sesmi! Lets go!" and pulling Harumi and then Bree along to the edge.
"Whoa! Wait, what are you talking about?! Who the hell is Sesmi?" Bree said putting on the breaks.
Cole dropped the still bristling Morrow and Lloyd quickly. And stepped in front of them. Blocking the drop off of the cliff. His arms briefly glowing orange. No matter how strong Bree and Harumi's powers or how capable they are. He still desperately loved his wife and her family and wanted to protect them no matter what.
A dark shape loomed behind him. Bree and Harumi both looking up with wide eyes. Lloyd on the other hand brought up a ball of brilliant green energy and held in in case he needed to pitch it. Behind Cole The very large dark colored roc flew and landed on the mountain side. Chirping and making small whistling noises.
"This is Sesmi" Moria explained. "My best friend and the only reason I am alive. I take it I have a lot of explaining to do?"
"Just the slightest bit" Cole answered defensively but with a touch of sarcasm.
"I thought you said you told the birds to take a hike" Lloyd ground out. Not dropping the ball of green energy and stepping forward slowly, but cautiously. Like he was debating how fast he could hit the roc and what it could do in the interim.
"I did, I called him back" Moria said tappign the side of her head.
"How?" Lloyd asked aghast. "He was no where in hearing range a second ago."
""That, Lloyd is going to be part of the explanation" Bree said smoothly. Harumi looking at her like she was nuts.
