Good morning!

Arriving at school, I notice Alice before anyone else; standing talking to Jasper at his jeep.
Walking over, I smile at Angela as she approaches me, falling into step without a word.
Until …
"Heard you were at the diner with Cullen last night."
"Word travels fast," I sigh.
"Um, yeah. It's Forks." Nudging me, drawing my attention, she looks worried for a second. "You okay?"
I nod, smiling wide in greeting as we make it to Alice and Jasper.
"So …" Alice starts, leaning against her boyfriend, wrapping her arms around his waist. "Tell us about your date, B."
I groan, making everyone laugh. "Not right now," I plead. Not until I've fixed things with Edward.
Rose joins us just as the bell rings. I practically run to my locker, determined not to be late to my first class of the day.
—
In English Lit, Edward meets my eye, but doesn't return my timid smile.
I know I need to tread carefully. Chasing him and asking him to talk in public hasn't worked out very well for me in the past.
Scribbling a quick note, I fold it, leaning back in my chair and sliding it towards him. He takes it tentatively, his fingertips brushing my palm.
I'm sorry.
I don't get a note back.
I don't look at him again.
Not until class is over and he appears beside me, walking tall, hands in his pockets. I'm surprised to see him, which is clearly evident. He rolls his eyes and smirks.
"Come on, Little Miss Sunshine, you know just as well as I do that I can't stay away from you."
Rolling my lips into my mouth, I look up at him, trying to hide my smile. Failing, obviously.
"You know," I start, narrowing my eyes teasingly, "this would be a really cute gesture, walking to me to class, if you didn't have the same class."
"I know," he smiles, mocking me. "Cute isn't really in my repertoire."
Sitting at our shared desk in biology, I look over at him, maneuvering my body so I'm facing him fully. "I really am—"
"Please don't," he cuts me off, closing his eyes and shaking his head.
"Okay." Pursing my lips, I can't help it, I need too. "It's just—" I stop when he glares at me, realising I'm pushing him again. Pushing him never works.
I turn to face the front, resigned, huffing.
Jessica passes, another glare in my direction and I'm rolling my eyes. Edward chuckles, noticing the display and I narrow my eyes in his direction, which only humours him more.
"You know," I start slowly, "I love it when you laugh, but don't think I won't hurt you."
He grunts, leaning towards me, mouth so achingly close to my ear. "I love it when you talk dirty."
Raising an eyebrow, biting my lip, shifting a little closer to him, so his mouth is against my ear, I decide to play along. "I should have known violence turns you on. But lucky for me, I know what else turns you on …"
He groans, moving back and I'm smug.
"Fucking friends thing …" is all I hear of his whining, laughing under my breath.
