-Day 53: Misaki and Gerard's day out part 2-
A/N: I know it is Gerard not Gerald but since I've started maid sama fan fiction for some reason I stuck with Gerald. I'll use Gerard instead of Gerald if reading Gerald seems weird. I won't change his name in previous chapters/ stories since that's 4 years of writing Gerald I would need to change.
p.s I'm not a shipper of Miskai x Gerard so no need to worry.
Raven Castle
1 pm
Knock knock.
"Come in," Misaki said putting down a paper on a desk she used in her and Takumi's bedroom. She wondered who could be at the door since Takumi wouldn't return so early.
"Good afternoon Misaki," Gerard said opening the door with a huge smile on his face. He closed the door before approaching Misaki and glancing around at her little work station. "You know if you needed an office I would've given you a room for yourself. This seems so tight. No room to store things," He added looking at the desk full of papers.
"Thank you for the offer. The job was so short notice I wouldn't have time to create a proper space here to work. Plus I'm supposed to have an office there so I figured I would make use of this for now," Misaki answered. She was preparing for her first day of work at her new location tomorrow.
"Ah yes, a whole new work environment tomorrow. Good luck."
"Thank you. Why was it you came to visit me again? I'm sure it wasn't to talk about an office," Misaki stated. Gerard hardly ever came to look for her.
"Right. My brother is busy and I thought instead of you being bored I'd take you out to lunch. Have a proper chat one on one," Gerard explained. Their first day of hanging out had been cut short but he wanted to have a conversation with her away from the raven castle.
"Uhm sure. Just let me change," Misaki agreed to spend some time with him. She also wanted to spend more time with Gerard as he was Takumi's brother. They were family and that would never change so she hoped they could all have a better relationship.
"I shall wait outside," Gerard said before leaving the room. He closed the door then pulled a cellphone out of his pocket. He searched for a contact number and waited for the person to answer.
"What," Takumi answered the phone in a dull voice.
"That's not how you should speak to your older brother. Also, I'm taking your wife away for the next two hours. Hope you don't mind," Gerard stated then hung up the phone. He wore a large grin on his face knowing he probably irritated his brother.
The door of the bedroom opened and he turned to see Misaki who changed her clothes. Why was she so fast?
"I didn't want to make you wait long."
"Or you want to hurry back to work as soon as possible. Don't forget I use to keep tabs on you and my brother. I know what you are like with your workaholic ways," Gerard said remembering the past. It seemed not too long ago he was trying to keep his brother here and away from the woman beside him.
"Yes, I remember those times. Good times right," Misaki said sarcastically.
Gerard snickered at her words. "Nowhere in any of those reports did it say you had a sense of humor."
Misaki shrugged. "You should've spent your time and money on something else then."
"So it seems."
25 minutes later
Misaki and Gerard arrived at a restaurant he frequently visits. Upon their arrival, they were greeted by reporters and photographers who wanted a piece of news on the young heir and his sister-in-law. Misaki and Takumi hadn't done any interviews so images like this were a hot topic.
"Ignore them. They seem nonexistent after a while," Gerard gave Misaki a piece of advice. He knew she wasn't used to this but being married to someone in the raven castle would lead to this happening more often.
He leads Misaki away from the reporters and into the restaurant. There was no need for a private room so they went to a regular table. This was mostly Misaki's idea. Why would they need to add so much more money for a private room?
They both sat down, had their orders taken, and were served wine while they waited for their food.
"As you probably noticed I've been trying to repair the relationship I never truly had with Takumi," Gerard started off.
Misaki nodded her head. "It's been pretty obvious yes."
"Takumi hasn't been very open to my efforts and that is completely understandable because of our history and how much I meddled with his life. However, I would really love for us to move forward and have a better relationship," Gerard stated. "When our mother was pregnant with Takumi, I was angry because I thought she would be happier if she ran away with that man and Takumi, leaving me behind. I knew she loved me but I just couldn't help the way I felt. After she died and he was born I didn't want to consider him my brother. I felt like he caused her death and should've never existed. Grandfather didn't make that any better. I loved my grandfather but he should've allowed me and Takumi to connect in some way. Of course, I followed his every word instead because I can admit I was a bit scared of being on his bad side."
Gerard sighed stirring his wine. "A feeling of hatred carried on for many years. But now I wish to put an end to it, especially as our family circle is getting smaller and smaller. Hopefully, Takumi can forgive my actions."
"It's true you can't rush him into forgetting and forgiving so fast, however, I see that your efforts are working since the relationship between the two of you have changed little by little from the time I met you. I would also love for you two to depend on each other. If there's anything I could do to help I will try. Even if I have to tie up both of you and throw you in a dark room. Or maybe put you two in a dangerous maze and you both need to work together to get out," Misaki said seriously thinking it over.
"I know there was a reason I started to like you. You were a bit cool in the helicopter back then," He raised his glass for them to do cheers.
"Thanks, I guess," Misaki replied clinking her glass against his.
"Cheers," they both said.
