Anything Helps:
The group were rounding the corner to their neighborhood. Brianna and Kick had used their mind abilities, bringing in Gunther, as Brianna informed about what happened with Clara and Myra. Kick and Gunther weren't too happy about the incident, but given that Brianna handled it, not much could be done. However, now they wanted to watch them, Clara specifically given the threat she posed against Kendall and Jackie.
The group had idle chatter as they entered their neighborhood. Kendall, though couldn't help but glance at her hand, even more, couldn't help but be reminded as she laughed at a joke that Mouth told, the last time she last walked home from school all the way with her friends. Jackie noticed she was looking down.
"You okay?" She questioned. Brianna and the others glanced. Kendall looked up.
"Ah…oh, uh…yeah." Kendall let out. "Sorry…" She stopped, as they all did. Jackie had a small smile.
"You can tell us you know." Jackie assured her, trying to comfort her.
"No…I mean." Kendall tried to find the right way to say what she was thinking. "It's just…" She let out a small breath. "The last time I remember laughing and having a good time, and walking home from school like this…" She trailed. Brianna glanced down. Kick looked at her. 'No one blames you, and no one ever will.' He thought. She gave him a smile. Jackie held Kendall's hand, giving her a small smile. "I…I guess…I must have ruined the party…"
"You didn't ruin anything." Kick told her. Kendall looked at him. "If anything we all just wondered where you were so you could enjoy it with us." He admitted. "But, you didn't ruin it." He reassured.
"Yeah, trust us…" Jackie added. "We're all just happy you're doing better and trying to get back into the routine of everything."
"Thanks." Kendall had a small blush. She glanced at her hand again.
"Your hand hurt?" Brianna asked.
"Slightly." Kendall replied. "I admit when I did deck Ronaldo I'm surprised I didn't break my hand." She explained, "Plus I really shouldn't have slapped Gordie yesterday." She admitted. "Even if he was saying such horrible things about you." She glanced at Jackie. "I really don't know how to handle a "fighting" situation." She air-quoted.
"Personally I'm gladded you slapped him, and not me, because I was about ready to do a lot more." Gunther confessed. Jackie looked at him with that, her cheeks growing pink.
"I told you two, you guys are fine." Brianna remarked.
"Yeah, but it still doesn't mean knowing some self-defense isn't a bad idea." Jackie commented.
"Plus, for me, running away all the time, kinda doesn't help." Kendall mentioned.
"I disagree." Kick countered. "I think running away can save your guys' life in many situations."
"Yes, but it still be helpful to know how to defend ourselves." Kendall spoke.
"I'm sure you boys can help with that." Brianna glanced.
"Of course." Both Gunther and Kick responded.
"Wait, you would really train us, I mean like you would help me?" Kendall looked at Kick.
"Of course I would help you Kends." Kick told her. "You help me a lot, so why wouldn't I help you?" She had a smile.
"That makes me glad to hear that you'll help." Kendall stated.
"Yeah agreed." Jackie nodded with a small giggle. "I think anything will help us in learning some self-defense. Plus with the fact you two are like the strongest people we know."
"Yeah, definitely strongest people I know." Kendall agreed as they started walking again.
"Although, I will agree with my brother, running really is not a bad thing, seriously it's not." Brianna reminded.
"We know." The girls had a small laugh.
"Good thing is for this training we can go to the VSD gym." Mouth said.
"VSD gym?" Kendall had a questioning look.
"Oh yeah, you will finally get to go with us now, it's a fun gym, amazing really." Jackie beamed. "You'll really enjoy it."
"I think it should be interesting to see how these training sessions go." Brianna had a sly look aimed at the boys. Kick rolled his eyes, while Mouth chuckled.
"Meaning you're going." Kick was a bit annoyed.
"I think it'll be amusing." She replied. He let out a sigh.
"I think it will just be fun to have all of us there." Jackie commented.
"Yeah, I think so too." Kendall agreed. Kick and Gunther smiled at that.
"Clarence Buttowski!" A voice yelled
"Gunther Magnuson!" Another exclaimed. Both boys tensed as their mothers were in front of Kick's house. Everyone looked.
"I just got a call from Ms. Fitzpatrick young man!" Kick's mom was pissed. "Your ass better get in here and do your homework or you will not be doing your stunt tomorrow do you understand!?" She gave him a look that only mothers can give that instill fear. Kick gulped.
"You too Gunther!" Helga folded her arms. "If you don't do your work, you will regret it young man." His mother was serious as she walked away, causing him to shake slightly.
"Kick I mean it…" Honey walked out. "Oh Kendall dear lovely to see you, would you like to stay for dinner?" His mom literally flipped a switch like it was nothing, becoming completely sweet with her. "You absolutely are welcomed." She smiled.
"Oh thank you Mrs. Buttowski." Kendall thanked, a bit frightened at first but also knew that Kick wasn't doing his best in school. "Um, sure, if I'm not intruding…"
"Absolutely not dear." Honey assured. "You are family and are always welcomed. In fact I'll give Linnie a call and let her know." She smiled. "You as well Jackie, given that Gunther…" She gave the boys another pointed look as they gulped. "Will be doing his homework here and having dinner here, since the Magnuson's are going away for some business." She directed her attention to Jackie now. "You are more than welcome to stay as well."
"Thank you." Jackie smiled.
"And you two." Honey went back to the boys, grabbing them by the ears bringing them inside, the rest followed. "Kick if your homework is not finished, I will go on your website and cancel your stunt tomorrow myself." She told him as he rubbed his ear. "Do I make myself clear?" Both nodded. "Good, get it done."
"If you want, we can help them?" Kendall pointed at herself and Jackie.
"That's very sweet dear, however my son and Gunther need to learn a lesson here." She shot a look at them. "This homework they can do on their own." They glanced away. Brianna had a slight chuckle. Honey looked at her. "Is your homework done young lady?" She questioned. Brianna went silent. 'You deserve that.' Kick thought. 'Shut it.' Brianna fired back. "All of you." Honey pointed to her kids and Gunther. "Homework, get it done, now." She declared. "I'll bring you girls some drinks and sweet bread rolls." She was sweet again, walking into the kitchen leaving them. Brianna sitting by the coffee table as the three got out their homework.
"That was scary…" Jackie confessed as she and Kendall sat down.
"Yeah, but you guys aren't doing your homework?" Kendall asked curiously. Kick glanced away.
"I do mine, these two, they just…don't." Brianna gave them a look.
"I just don't like school." Kick stated.
"Well you better start, or at least tolerate it or else you won't be able to do stunts." Kendall commented. He gulped.
"Yeah…right." He looked at the homework he got out. The girls looked at each other.
"Maybe we can help…somehow." Kendall offered. The boys had out the books they needed and were working on their homework as the girls gave helpful hints on how to do things. The evening ending with them enjoying Mrs. Buttowski's cooking and Jackie staying the night at Kendall's, since they like enjoying more girl's nights now.
