Since the last two Sin Stand users existed during the lifetime of George Joestar I, I decided to do something and go more in-depth with how they were dealt with, starting with Gallerian. It also shows that Jonathan clearly got his badassery from his father's side of the family. Disclaimer: I don't own Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Danganronpa, or the Evillious Chronicles.
Jojolion Chapter 44: Greed of Gallerian
Let's turn the clock back for real, to the year 1863. George Joestar I was meeting with his old college friend Nathaniel Twilight, sometimes known as Night Light to his friends because of his midnight-black hair. "I assume you've been reading the papers, Jojo?," Nathaniel asked. George nodded. "Judge Marlon has been getting more and more corrupt as of late. Ever since the death of his wife and daughter five years ago." Coincidentally this event takes place five years before the fateful coach accident that was the ultimate catalyst for the bizarre events of the Joestar clan's lives. In fact at this point in time, neither Jonathan Joestar nor Lydia Twilight had even been born.
"I heard you recently got back from Egypt," George said. Nathaniel nodded. "I found a peculiar item buried not far from a sealed tomb. Seven ornate arrows, made from materials different from what was used in Egypt at the time. I brought one back for further study." "I've also found a peculiar artifact from a travelling circus," George noted, "The circus's patron, Baron Kelvin, promised to sell me the mask the next time he was in London. Which should be in about five years." As you might have guessed, Kelvin would use this mask sometime in those five years to become a vampire.
The two of them entered the courthouse, where Gallerian Marlon presided as judge. He was one of several judges, but he was by far the most corrupt. Many innocent people were sentenced because of him, and many who should have been guilty got away with bribing him for freedom. This was causing serious tension in the people of London. The man on trial that day was one Tony Ausdin, a general in Her Majesty's Armed Forces. The man was on trial for the massacre of an entire Indian village under the crown's protection.
"This is his last chance," came the voice of a young woman. George and Nathaniel turned to see the green-haired woman. This was Nemesis Sudo, Gallerian's younger daughter through a brief affair with the granddaughter of Kayo Sudo. She had once been an assassin for her father, tracking down criminals Scotland Yard couldn't, until a fateful mission which saw her own boyfriend as her target. She had tried to commit suicide, but the bullet didn't kill her, though it did leave her blind in one eye. "If Father sees fit to have Ausdin convicted, it will relieve much tension with the public. But if Ausdin is found..." "Not guilty!," came Gallerian's voice as he banged his gavel.
This caused an uproar with the audience as Ausdin was led away, smiling smugly. "There was far too much evidence against Ausdin," Nathaniel noted, "There's no other explanation anymore. Gallerian had to have accepted a bribe." George was busy watching a cloaked man speak with Gallerian. This was Avaritia, another member of the sect. Gallerian handed Avaritia a satchel of coins. "This is the last payment," Avaritia said, "My contacts have found the last of the Vessels for you." Gallerian smiled. "Now I can make my wish."
Gallerian had actually been deceived. Avaritia had offered to find the seven Vessels of Sin for Gallerian, having told him about the ritual but lying about its purpose. He said that gathering the eight artifacts would allow one to have their greatest wish, even giving him the Marlon Spoon without needing any payment. However, this was simply a ruse to gather the artifacts in one location in preparation for the ritual, and to find users for the last two sins. Gallerian had gained his Stand when he absentmindedly used the Marlon Spoon for his morning breakfast soup, causing small particles of the meteorite to enter his system.
Inside his manor, he knelt down next to the Clockworker's Doll, propped up in a wheelchair. "Don't you worry, Michelle. Once I have all of the Vessels, I can make a new life for us. One where you won't be so inferred." The sound of shattering glass caught his attention as he whirled around, gasping when he saw a torch had been thrown into his home, landing just right to catch the nearby curtain ablaze. Another torch landed on his desk, catching his paperwork. Outside, more fires were starting. "What in God's name is going on out there!?"
He looked out the window and gasped at the large mob that had formed outside. It seemed his decision to have Ausdin acquitted was the final straw. Even Scotland Yard was joining in, clearly angered at losing their prisoner who should have been rightly sent to the gallows. Gallerian quickly ran back to the wheelchair and grabbed the doll, but whirled around when something caused the door to be broken down. Inside walked Nemesis, George, and Nathaniel. "We're here on behalf on Her Royal Majesty," George said simply, "Gallerian Marlon, the other judges have counseled, and agree you are guilty of the crime of treason."
"That said," Nemesis chimed in, "Her Majesty has magnanimously offered you amnesty, if you agree to hand over your ill-gotten gains, and return them to the people." Gallerian chuckled at first, then cackled madly. "Give up all I have obtained!? All I have saved for the sake of my beloved daughter!? I will not hand anything of mine over! I'm going to build a bright future for Michelle! Don't you worry, my beloved Michelle..." He hugged the doll. "I will see you have your future." Nathaniel was confused. "I thought his daughter Michelle was dead."
"She is," Nemesis said sadly, "I accidentally killed her during a routine assassination. Can't you see? My father's gone mad. The doll he holds looks much like her, to the point where he believes it is her." Gallerian then thrust his hand out, and a stream of fire emerged from it, causing the three of them to scatter, and burning more of the manor around them. Gallerian grimaced. "Still can't control the flames..." This was part of Gallerian's new Stand, Tried and Convicted. Of course, he didn't realize that the reason he couldn't control the flames he was shooting was because he was too focused on greed.
This would be his last mistake, as Nemesis took advantage of his lapse in concentration to move in and place her gun against his forehead. "Farewell, Father. I'd have you ask Michelle to forgive me for my own mistake, but you won't be going where she is." And with a pull of the trigger, she ended her father's life. There was only one final thing on George's mind. "Why on earth was he so fixated on this doll?" "That same hooded man he was paying gave him the doll," Nemesis explained, "And five other artifacts of similar composition. Maybe we should try to find them."
Gallerian was now standing in front of another group from Hope's Peak. Byakuya in particular had much disdain for the corrupt judge. "So foolish, to desire more and more regardless of how much you already have. I've easily obtained twice the fortune you've amassed just by day-trading over the course of a week. And for what? The future of a daughter who died, rather than one who lived?" Infinite appeared and created a virtual space, shocking Gallerian as Michelle's image appeared. "But how could it...?" He approached the image, only for it to shatter as Toko, her own stand active, leapt at the corrupt judge to stab him.
Gallerian thought quickly and leapt back, launching the flames of his own Stand. Toko just cackled as the flames danced around her harmlessly. "Thanks to Peko, my skin's become fireproof. She swapped the properties of my skin and clothes with some of the acoustic paneling in this metro." Gallerian scoffed and backed up to fire off two flames around Toko. However, Trixie caught the first flame in her hat using her Stand, while Himiko used Pixies to douse the second with several dozen water bottles. "My turn!," Kokichi called out, "Pharoah Sanders!" The full force of Kokichi's Stand stabbed into Gallerian, shocking him tremendously.
"Don't leave me out," Fuyuhiko said, "Specials!" Each of his Stand's forms attacked with their signature technique, ending with Gallerian caught in a bear trap. "Ouch, that must hurt," Joshu said as he approached, "But that's the pain a lot of others felt when the killers of their loved ones went free. Allow me. Nut King Call!" Joshu's Stand emerged and undid the trap with a quick machine nut. "You would release an enemy you have at your mercy?," Gallerian asked. "It's called charity," Joshu pointed out, "You once understood what it meant. What happened the man who promised his daughter a future free from crime?"
Gallerian gasped. 'Had they really learned that much about me? Come to think of it, what did become of my old self? All I wanted was a proper future for my daughter, one where she could find her own happiness. But it seems in the end I was used because I lost sight of that dream after her death. In fact, all I was doing was promoting more crime in London.' As he began to realize what he truly was, his shackle came undone, disappearing as it was reeled in. Gallerian sighed. "Be careful. My other daughter, Nemesis. Her power is perhaps the strongest of all of us."
Nemesis couldn't help but smile as she saw her father's shackle return to Honami. 'So you've returned to your old self, have you? Now we just have to see if they can help me come to terms with my wrath. It was because I couldn't control my power that George Joestar was able to kill me. But if I can fully control this power...' "There's only a little bit left to go," Honami said, "Once I find the book, I'll take back my other slaves. Can you push a little further, Nemesis?" Nemesis frowned. "Sure. But I hope you understand the forces against you." Honami smiled. "I've already began to study them. I'm sure I can counter anything they have to throw at me."
I hope you like how I filled in some blanks here and there. Let's look at Gallerian's Stand.
Tried and Convicted (Song by Bobby Womack)
User: Gallerian Marlon
Ability: This Stand is meant to determine the guilt or innocence of person at a glance based on a number of factors, and unleash a torrent of flame that will burn them depending on how much guilt they bear. Essentially, it is a Stand of judgement. However, Gallerian is consumed by his own greed, and can only determine guilt based on one factor, how much money a person has. To him, the less fortune a person has, the more likely they are to be sinless. Because he only uses one factor, his flames are always at maximum power, regardless of who he uses it on, and it can destroy inanimate objects, something it could not do normally due to such objects having no consciousness, and thus no concept of guilt or innocence. If Gallerian could balance greed with charity, he would fully unlock his power. The stats below are for the Stand's true power.
Power: A
Speed: B
Range: B
Durability: C
Precision: A
Potential: C
Once again I wanted to focus more on the Stand user and what he is rather than his sin. Not a lot good names for greed songs. Read and review.
