Beginnings of a new life
Chapter 44th
Loreile couldn't stop crying with the possible chance of losing another husband. She continued to listen to her sister Elizabeth even though she wasn't really listening. "What are you going to do now Loreile?" She needed to asked over the phone.
"I really don't know but wait it out. Leon is going to keep me updated with Jethro's condition. And believe me it's not good at all. What h ewent through the last time was twice worse this time with Hernandez."
"What I don't understand Loreile is why do it in the first place knowing what might happened to him?" Elizabeth needed to say.
"Obsession Sis. Hernandez was obsessed with killing Gibbs and the vice versa with him finding Hernandez to get back at him for his pain and suffering. No matter what was said between myself and Jethro just was not getting through to his brain. And now I really feel bad about it that it actually happened."
"It's just too bad. I am wondering Loreile what Gibbs boss had to say on the subject matter?"
"Are you serious? He was the one to be pushing the issue with Gibbs and with the DOD and SECNAV. He went along in order to get the chance to kill Hernandez in the first place before Jethro. However it was Vance and Nick Torres running into the courtyard to see him hanging like a piece of meat on two poles. Otherwise he didn't go into further details on what else was done to my husband.
"Any rates you say he will write you with further updates. I suggest you try taking it easy or better yet go swimming, write your story or even take take Shane out in the carriage with the nanny. Call me when you know something."

It was the very next day when Leroy Jethro Gibbs was transferred to the marine medical base some 20 miles away from the compound. He was strong enough to be flown by an Apache helicopter from the base with two pilots and a technician on board to help with issues. They were able to land in the center of the courtyard.
Doctor Cyril Taft with Doctor Gilbert and Silverton the specialist on blood flow and circulation. They were leaving Vance and the other NICS agents behind to clean up and search the compound. The marines and the seals were able to find a underground tunnel behind Hernandez office leading miles out. They had Vance thinking after talking with the slave women that Hernandez and Riccio had gotten away again. Even though that Maria was found in her quarters with her throat slashed.
Once the helicopter had taken off. It was Vance, Torres and Lt. Brown job to begin the bonfire in order to burn the bodies before getting a chance to rest.
Meanwhile the helicopter had landed taking only 15th minutes later to arrive at the base with the marine base doctors waiting to further operate on Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Doctor Taft had updated the doctors with the specialist Doctor Greenway to work on repairing his anal and the internal bleeding with the damage to the muscles and veins inside. He was going to repair and place a special tubing in order to collect the additional blood and other elements.
Gibbs blood pressure was slightly better. Though they had additional AB Positive blood just in case. Giving the patient ready. It was Taft's job to keep track of his heart in case it gives up again on them with using the electrical shock treatment.
Everyone was able to scrub up in another room before beginning and with no one not knowing how long it was going to take with the repairs and the endless shots of antibiotics.
Some 12 hours later there was nothing more to be done with it being up to god to survive. They had brought the patient into the portable ICU area with strict orders from the doctors. There are going to be around the clock of nurses keeping an eye out on Gibbs and his vitals.
Back in Somalia, Paraguay
There was nothing more to be done accept getting the trucks ready for the trip to the marine base. Director Vance was tired of hearing the complaints from Torres and Lt. Brown in regard to the heat, humidity and most of all the insects.
Most or all of the marines and seals had driven back to the base to get transportation back to the states.
Everyone was packed up with their gear with McGee and Vance to be driving with the two trucks. McGee had been awfully quiet the past few days worried about Gibbs. Vance knew exactly what it was as with Torres and himself needing to speak with a therapist about the sight of Gibbs.
Hopefully there will be one at the base to help them temporarily with their emotions and feelings with seeing Gibbs strung up like that. Vance knew he had a issue as well with his friend had told him that he wasn't going to come out of this alive and he can imagine the pain and suffering he had gone through with Hernandez and the nightmares he was going to have once he's awake from his forced coma.
The doctors at the marine base were waiting for them to work on Gibbs further in the main operating building on the base. The Apache helicopter was landing in a few moments with the stretcher ready to move Gibbs quickly.
Doctor Silverton a specialist in circulation and blood flow on a number of patients over the years. And working on the groin area wasn't going to be an easy thing. Though the cell regeneration program has been really successful.
He was waiting having spoken with Doctor Taft over the phone in regard to the update on Leroy Jethro Gibbs. He was able to see the Apache helicopter coming into full view to be landing in the center of the airfield.
He and the others waited for the blades to stop turning before moving the stretcher to the hatchway with the patient in a forced coma.
They had brought him out looking so ashton with his blood count still low as with his blood pressure. They had carried him to have him prepped for surgery. While Doctor Taft will be advising as with Gilbert for now.
