5 years later.

Jack, was sitting in his office. He had been General for about about two years now. He was now in charge of the SGC, and although there were some long nights, he usually was home every day. Things seemed to be looking up, the bad guys were few and far between. Some critical missions took out key players against Earth. It wasn't as though everything was perfect but Jack was relatively sure there was no immediate threat of the world coming to an end.

Lupali had just turned 8 and Myalah was 12 and in middle school and Jack thought someways she was five and other days she was 25. She was going to dig his early grave Jack was sure. She even talked about a boy to him and Sam the other day and Jack thought he was going to be sick. Baby Benton Carter O'Neill wasn't a baby anymore and he was hell bent to do what ever his sisters were doing. Jack was amazed by the boy everyday. He had his mother's smarts and his lack of discipline. That boy could probably outsmart them all. Sam was usually up on his game but there was a time or two Benton had given them heart attacks. One time he had figured out mixing vinegar and baking soda made a big reaction and he had dumped a 5lb box of it in the sink pouring the vinegar on top of it right as Jack walked into the kitchen. Another time, Sam found him climbing the tree, not that it was a big deal but he had gotten himself all the way to the top of the 60 foot tree towering over the backyard. He simply came back down on his own, they both knew then the boy had no fear. Being four almost 5 had him in the gifted kindergarten class at school. Sam and Jack didn't talk to much about it, not wanting the girls to feel like under achievers. They both did outstanding their self and Myalah was top of her class. Sam was still chief scientist despite being contracted and though she rarely went through the gate anymore, she enjoyed her time off world.

Sam felt time ticking by too fast in her opinion, it wasn't long ago that Jack O'neill was just a dream to her. Sometimes she would wake up and for a second still think she was dreaming because Jack was in her bed. Five years had seemed like a blink of an eye. There were still bad dreams. There were still days when Jack would kiss her lips at work and it would shock her. The ring on her finger no longer felt heavy on her hand and instead she felt weird when it wasn't on her finger.

Sam smiled when she was at home, when she had first met Jack and had been to her very first team night, she had thought Jack's house was huge. Now, the two of them shared it with 3 kids, it didn't feel as big as it once did. Myalah had taken over the basement room that Cassie had, and they still had a spare room. Myalah didn't really enjoy the toy room as the younger two did, and as she was growing up. They figured eventually they would be able to turn it into a hobby room one day.

Cassie and Elliott had a rough couple years. It seemed that no one really knew when they were together and when they weren't. They did good the first year Elliott was in college, so well that Cassie was convinced that he was going to propose to her after she graduated. Cassie's senior year came and everything seemed to change. She had suddenly became involved with her classmates running around so much that even when Elliott had come to see her she wasn't home to be seen. Elliott had finally given her a choice him, or all the other stuff. Cassie had picked everything else. Jack and Sam had promised Elliott still had a place with them when ever he needed. He would call time to time but going to the Carter-O'Neill household was a real rarity.

Cassie had applied to a ton of different colleges finally deciding to major in pre-med with hopes of being a physicist. Cassie had invited Elliott as a friend to graduation and he showed up, leading to them getting back together. Cassie and he even got an apartment together, against Janet wishes but she was 18 and could do as she pleased as Janet claimed. Ever since then the two lived together sometimes as lovers sometimes as room mates. It was a shock to everyone right before her 21st birthday Cassie found out she was pregnant. Both Cassie and Elliott were told they needed to stop playing games. They knew they put themselves in a tough spot, but Elliott was getting his masters and graduating as Cassie got her bachelors. Cassie was taking a year break, wanting to be there for baby Leonna every step. Elliott got a research position at the university enabling Cassie to stay with Leonna until she could start the program. Janet wasn't too happy with Cassie and Elliott when she found out she was to be a grandmother, but the second she saw Cassie glowing with tiny baby bump she instantly forgave them.

Cassie had told both Janet and Elliott she was a one and done kind of mom and didn't think she wanted another baby. The two still hadn't gotten married but no one seemed to care. They were happy and that's all that matter to her family. Jack had been a little weirded out that his little girl now had a little girl and cringed when Cassie called him grandpa but he was happy, and demanded regular visits with the precious baby.

Jack was at his desk on a Tuesday when his phone rang he had his fingers crossed that this call would be the call he had been waiting for, and it was! Jack had discussed retiring. He agreed to contract for diplomacy sake but nothing more. He was begged to stay but after months had passed and Jack still hadn't changed his mind they began to look for his replacement. General Hammond himself was the one to deliver the news. Jack ran to Sam's lab to give her the good news.

"Guess what?" Jack asked as he popped into Sam's lab looking at her analyzing a crystal.

"What is it, sir?" Sam asked.

"You are looking at about to be retired General, O'Neill.

"Really?" Sam smiled.

"Yep! Of course contracted like you, but I can practically work from home." Jack said.

"I'll be raising four kids." Sam scoffed.

"Thanks but I'll have you know I am an adult thank, you very much." Jack claimed.

"No Jack, I wasn't counting you." Sam claimed and put his hand on her belly.

"No way!" Jack stated.

"When?" Jack asked.

Sam laughed, with three kids it was struggle to find the time but Jack would take a day Sam had off and with all three kids in school they had their ways.

"About 3 months ago." Sam admitted.

"Sam, and you're just saying something now?" Jack asked.

"I wasn't for sure, and had Janet give me a test a few weeks ago, I'm high risk Jack, I'm getting to old, I didn't want to bring your hopes up." Sam said honestly.

"You're high risk and your still on duty?" Jack asked.

"I'm not doing anything dangerous, and I haven't been lifting anything." Sam claimed.

Jack nodded his head.

"We're done after this right?" Jack asked.

"Yes!" Sam claimed.

"I really wasn't trying this time." Sam claimed.

"I know. It will be great though!" Jack admitted.

Sam nodded her head excited once again for a new baby on the way.

Jacob had passed away in the 5 years between her wedding and this happy moment, Sam looked at the picture on her desk knowing he would be excited for another grandchild. She brought her hand down to her belly knowing the baby inside would never meet her grandfather, and let out a heavy breath before smiling back at her husband.

Once again there was a huge celebration in the back yard, where they celebrated Jack's retirement and announced Sam's 2nd and last pregnancy. Everyone that Sam thought she had ever met was there at the party, more than she can remember for her engagement announcement, or the pregnancy. Considering it was Jack's retirement there were people from all over. Sam had felt a little overwhelmed by all the energy but greatful so many people cared about her husband. She was glad she wasn't center of attention, despite the pregnancy announcement, Jack seemed to be fielding all the questions leaving Sam to watch on the sidelines and take everything in.

She saw Daniel walk towards her and she could tell he had something on his mind. He had a nervous face as if he was about to ask her something or tell her something she wouldn't want to hear. She stood a little straighter and gave him her full attention.

"Hey Sam, congratulations! Janet told me there would be a surprise tonight." Daniel claimed.

Sam smiled. "I would have told you sooner, but Jack didn't even know until last week." Sam explained.

Daniel just looked at her oddly. "You can tell I'm upset, it has nothing to do with you not telling me. Actually I'm not upset at all I am really nervous actually, can we go inside?" Daniel asks her.

Sam nods and walks him into the house and he walks up the stairs, Sam assumes just in case someone is in the bathroom. He waits for her to walk them into the bedroom.

"What is it Daniel?" Sam asks.

"Do you think Janet will like this?" Daniel asks pulling a ring from his pocket. The engagement ring was oval and out shined anything she had ever seen. Similar to hers it laid flat but the diamond was spread more than hers with the most narrow band she had ever seen, it was perfect.

"Oh Daniel, of course." Sam claimed and started to cry. Once again Daniel looked surprised.

"Sorry, it's just the hormones it's beautiful, when are you going to ask her?" Sam asked.

"Well our 2 year anniversary is next Thursday and I was thinking it would be good to go out and I would propose after we got back home." Daniel explained.

Sam nodded knowing that Janet wasn't the one to want an audience.

"God, I'm so happy for you!" Sam said again clinging to him.

"She hasn't said yes yet, Sam." Daniel reminded her.

"Oh she will, Janet would kill me if she knew I told you this, but she has been waiting a while for that ring to be put on her finger." Sam smiled.

"And you didn't say anything before now?" Daniel asked.

Sam shrugged her shoulders and walked out of her bedroom, leaving Daniel alone in his thoughts before heading back to the party.

Jack had only a few weeks left as general, teaching the new general the ins and outs of the facility. Jack had let all the close allies know of the new leader of the SGC and advised that he would still be around when needed. When word got back to Edora, Laria insisted on a get together. Jack immediately accepted. They found out gate travel was fine during pregnancy, and Sam was packed up and ready to go. Cassie was going to stay with the kids bringing Leonna along. The old SG-1 was going and Sam couldn't wait to walk through the gate. She and Laria had become friends especially after Sam had Benton was born. Laria had brought her twins Breila and Tian a time or two to Earth to meet Sam and Jack's kids. It was a tall order to allow Laria and the kids to stay with Sam and Jack but after a lot of convincing it was doable and Laria and the kids were house guests a few times a year. Laria was excited for Sam and Jack that another little one was on the way and told Sam she could no longer bare children. Sam wasn't sure how to feel about it, Laria was only 7 years older than her. She knew she was done with this baby, but what if she changed her mind would they have time to have a third if she really wanted it? She wasn't even sure why she had cared, this baby would make a full house and they could barely keep up with the three they had now. She closed her eyes and relaxed pushing all the what ifs away, and enjoying her time on Edora.

Sam felt like she was ready to pop she was only 6 months along but she felt as though it had been about 10 or 12. Jack was home regularly which was a dream come true. The house was cleaner, they had more home cooked meals. There was more family time and more social visits. Sam was still doing light duty work at the SGC 10 hours a week. She was called in for an emergency, and helped fix the gate. It felt good to be needed, but she wasn't getting any younger. Most of the time they could figure it out but time to time she was the one brought in. She figured that eventually someone else would have figured it out but she had to wonder when she was no longer able to do this, would something happen the gate shut down forever and no one would get it working again. There wasn't anything she could really teach anyone it was just experience she had earned. She wished they would have had more people ready and willing to learn from her. She had several people she had shown over the years what was wrong and how to fix it, she wasn't sure if they were just to lazy or genuinely didn't understand her troubleshooting guide. It took a few different times but Sam figured out the issues and got the gate up and running in a few hours.

Sam was happy to get out of the SGC, not only was she tired and her back ached from the pregnancy, it was Lupali's 9th birthday party. Sam and Jack had invited her whole class. Jack had text Sam while she was still at the SGC if it was possible to bring back ice-cream 15 kids had shown up to the house. Sam had stopped at the local grocery store and piced up abucket of ice cream knowing if it wasn't all gone tonight it would be by the end of the week. The girls didn't have much of a sweet tooth but Benton and Jack could eat their weight in sugar. She wouldn't be to surprised if she caught Jack with a bowl of it in the morning before the kids got up.

Sam pulled up to the house, there were kids all over, none of seemed to notice her pull into the driveway. She walked in with the bucket of ice-cream in her hand. She looked out the back door.
There were kids running every where, Jack was holding Leonna, and Benton was tugging on his pant leg there was a huge cake and Janet was getting some chips for one of the kids. Daniel was there holding her close. Teal'c had picked up Lupali and Sam shook her head thinking at 9 years old she was getting to big for Teal'c to throw her in the air but she smiled. This was the day dream she had so long ago when she dreamed of having kids with Jack O'Neill. He literally made her dreams come true.

Sam grabbed the ice cream scoop and headed outside. Jack smiled at her and handed the baby back to Cassie. Jack immediately reached down to Sam's bump, and kissed her lips.

Sam couldn't quite believe that in 5 years she went from being single and dreaming of a life with Jack O'Neill, to having 4 kids with the man and loving every moment. 100 days of Jack being out of her life, her heart ripped from her chest fearing the worst, turned into forever with the man she truly loved.

THE END.
