Dragon Ball: Governed

Chapter 44 - True Warrior

Despite how far behind the inhabitants of Planet Earth were technologically and intelligently in comparison to other species out in the cosmos, the planet's atmosphere holds ground as one of the best - it's beauty being far more alluring than other worlds. And its ocean being able to get a hypnotic gaze out of those with even just an inch of creativity and imagination.

But Kakarot wasn't hovering over the Earth's great, vast ocean for meditation or to bask in the bright, warm sun above him. Kakarot, bare-feet and bare-chested, had just got done with one of his own training sessions. As the cool sweat dripped down the tip of his toes and onto the body of water, causing slight ripples in the body of water, the wild-haired man took in a deep breath.

The last time he had done this had been some while ago but through vigorous training, he had become much stronger. With his body relaxed and cool, Kakarot appears to be meditating, but in a moment's notice, his hands are clenched and he begins screaming at the top of his lungs, power spiking as much as he possibly can.

He's hundreds of miles out in the ocean so that there is no collateral damage. Sure enough other Martial Artists such as Gyumao and Krillin would be able to sense him, but they all know why he's doing this - he's trying to take his power to the next level.

Kakarot screams so hard and loud that his throat starts to scratch and his head feels like it's about to explode. The ocean of water just inches below his feet rise at the intense pressure of his power and circle around him. The cool waters help him keep on as his body heat continued to rise with his incessant screaming. His energy crackled and his aura flickered to a bright color that even he couldn't notice. When he felt he couldn't go anymore, Kakarot finally stopped.

And just like that, he decided to call it a day. Huffing and puffing with his head down and shoulders slouched, Kakarot mumbled to himself. He knew he was almost there. He could feel it.

"Reporting an emergency at East City hospital. Everyone's been evacuated, criminals in the building. All Units respond."

And just like that, Kakarot's unbelievable speed caused him to leave a trail of his aura for the marine animals to see by leaving in a split second.

Being an unofficial aid with the police came with its perks. Many considered Kakarot a bounty hunter, but to him it was more than that. He was helping keeping this world safe. He had connections from all big cities revolving around crime and thanks to him, it was a big reason why crime was reduced eighty percent.

The Saiyan's disappointing frown due to his lack of success transforming earlier was turned upside down at the realization that he just may have the chance to let some steam off on some law-breaking punk. Without a moment's notice, he was gone from the ocean and already near town.

As soon as Kakarot showed up above the hospital, he expected to see many cop cars and policemen with their weapons out expecting his arrival. Much to his surprise, it appeared to be a normal day outside. His curiosity now piqued, the shirtless man descends onto land and enters the hospital. Not one second after stepping foot into the door, there are dozens of unfamiliar faces shouting surprise, most of them being law enforcement.

His face showed that he wasn't pleased. "What the hell is going on here."

Gyumao pushes his way through the crowd and shoves Kakarot ahead with a push on the back before going ahead of him. "Follow me."

Under any other circumstance, the Saiyan would have considered punching Gyumao did in the face for being so disrespectful and demanding, but he let it slide. He was in a building full of innocent people and it was Chi-Chi's father. But what he found most perplexing was the fact that people decided to surprise and congratulate him for apparently no reason upon his arrival. Last time he checked, the hospital was meant for ill, unable, and hurting individuals. He didn't fit any of those categories.

After a few turn and an elevator ride a few stories up, Kakarot is greeted by the old man Muten Roshi. "Today's a very special day for you."

Kakarot scoffs with a dry chuckle as he wipes his mouth. His shoulders jump up and down as he tries to hide his laughter. What shame he felt for taking so long to catch on. "Right," he sighed. "The brat is born."

"I wouldn't refer to him as a brat," Krillin speaks up, approaching Roshi from behind with a cup of coffee in hand. His eyes are saggy and it appeared as if he hadn't been getting in sleep in hours.

"So he's a boy," Kakarot points out. Krillin just nods as he sips on his sugared black coffee.

"Go and see him," Gyumao said. "It's right over there.

"Sure."

Kakarot didn't know what to expect out of this. He has a son, but it hadn't registered with him yet. He didn't know anything about families or any of that nonsense. Growing up, all he knew was battle, destruction, and sadistic pleasures. When Chi-Chi said family, he didn't think he'd actually have his own kid. But if this meant this took him a step further to achieving his goal, then so be it.

But just as he is in the midst of walking over toward the door he was appointed to by Gyumao, Kakarot stops. Feeling a disturbing presence in the air, he questions whether or not he should check it out. It wasn't until the hospital's special alarms went off that he realized that it was much more than some strange power headed for him.

"CODE ZERO, CODE ZERO! Unidentified Flying Object in Earth's atmosphere! East City will be on lockdown until the potential threat is thoroughly examined."

The cries of Kakarot's new-born child rang out in the distance. He felt the boy's sudden rise in power. Looking back, Gyumao and Krillin reassure Kakarot that they will be the ones to take care of it and go on to gather the others. They tell him he needs to be with his family.

And they may have been right. But Kakarot saw this from another perspective - a perspective to further his personal resolve.

The Saiyan ignores their words and dashes right by them. Just as Gyumao goes to stop Kakarot, Roshi was there to prevent the giant from doing so by softly driving the tip of his walking cane into the big man's rock hard belly. "Let him be. If he chooses not to be there for this, then we will."

Kakarot felt that he could easily convince the others that he was doing this for his son, fighting to protect he and the currently vulnerable Chi-Chi from danger. But everyone would be quick to call his bullshit out on it. This was personal for Kakarot and only he knew why. He did this as a way to force himself to be better in the eyes of others, in hopes it'd take him a step closer in achieving his one and only true goal. The power he sensed could be wiped away by Krillin or anyone else with proper training effortlessly. There was no reason for Kakarot to head out and deal with someone that paled in comparison to his own battle power. But deep down, his Saiyan instincts drove him toward this battle. He couldn't deny.

"He wasn't lying when he told us that the planet wasn't too advanced…" Onio muttered to his wife. Just outside North City's barrier was where he and his dearest had landed. Being expected, army personnel and other enforcements had Onio surrounded.

"State your purpose for being here!" a man holding a gun and megaphone announced.

Onio and his wife both proceed to ascend to the sky where helicopters and jets surrounded the both of them. "I want to make this world my new home!"

"In what way!?" the man asks. "Do you intend on becoming a contributing member of society!?"

Onio just grinned. "No…" With the tip of his index finger, he charges a crackling, tiny ball of ki. "I have other ways of doing so." With the flick of said finger, all of the tanks below them are wiped away from the face of the Earth, as well as the army men who had Onio surrounded outside North City. All of the citizens screamed in panic after also witnessing the helicopters and jets being blasted to hell by Onio's wife with ease.

"It's a good thing they have a little barrier of their own," Onio's wife pointed out. "We don't have to worry about being careful and ruining all the resources for our 17th anniversary planet."

Stepping down through all the debris, Onio spots one man missing both legs, doing his best to crawl back to North City's safety zone. His mind is in a daze and the only thing that functioned cerebrally was his lizard brain - the pure concept of survival. But pain overcomes him as Onio smashes his spine, cracking his bones and eliciting a final squeal before he finally croaks.

"Honey, I just had an idea!" Onio yelled from below.

"What's that?" she shouted back.

"We turn this into a little game. We destroy this planet's finest defenses and just hunt down every other weakling on this planet. It'll be fun for our 17th anniversary and rekindled honey-moon, wouldn't you agree?"

"Oouh!" she blushed. "That sounds lovely!"

"You'd have to get through me first!" Onio is met with a surprise punch to the face, which sends him sliding across the ground. With Kakarot's arrival, the people in North City start to cheer on. There was hope.

Getting up as he held his bloody nose, Onio growled. "You...you'll pay for that." Once he wiped the blood away, he managed to finally get a good look at Kakarot. At first he thought he was going crazy, though subsequent to fluttering his eyes and taking it all in, he came to the conclusion that he had just fought this man prior to arriving on Earth. "You...what the hell are you doing here!? You want to fight me again already!?"

"What are you babbling on about," Kakarot growled. "I don't know you, you morbidly obese chunk of lard. I live here. This is my home."

"No, we just fought you on Planet Kayuk. You live on Planet Vegeta...and you fought with the old King's son!" He scoffed. "Ya got brain damage or just struggling with split personalities?"

"Sorry, but you have me mistaken for someone else."

"It's not him," Onio's wife points out. "You can tell if you look hard enough! His complexion isn't as dark. He's more built and he doesn't have that scar on his cheek! They just have the same hair."

Kakarot chuckled. He immediately knew to whom she was referring. "My father...you fought him and he survived, huh, given how you assumed he wanted to come back for more. Good on him, but bad on you. I'm not my father and I won't be letting you leave with your life after threatening my home."

Onio grinned. So that's what it was. Being referenced this planet from Bardock's partner, Onio wasn't able to tell whether this was just sheer coincidence or if he had been set up. He didn't care, though. Recalling on how Bardock praised his son's prowess, he started to get excited. "Your father told me how you're stronger than he is. Fighting him has made me even stronger. Let's see if you're up for the test."

Onio fires off a wave of ki toward Kakarot. The young man stands there and waits for the attack prior to deflecting it with the swat of his hand. Onio, shooting at him from above, misses horribly, smashing the ground into pieces with his boot. He hops over to Kakarot as said Saiyan dodges all of the chubby's punches and kicks with ease prior to smacking Onio across the face with his back-hand, which had more than enough power to send him spinning uncontrollably.

Onio recovers swiftly, landing on one hand, and launching a multitude of energy blasts. Kakarot glides through every single one of them, dodging them with great finesse. Onio gets out of the way at the last second, though only because Kakarot allowed him. Smirking, Kakarot blitzed Onio from behind and sent the man plummeting down. Before he crashed, Kakarot grabbed Onio by the ankle and smashed the man face first into the ground prior to tossing him into the clouds.

Kakarot shot up alongside Onio and kept at a steady pace. Onio didn't seem to be defying gravity for a while now as he continued going airborne.

"You're outclassed," Kakarot tells Onio as he rams his elbow into the man's chest-plate, cracking it in half. Onio crashes onto his back, coughing up blood in the process.

"Onio!" his wife shrieks.

Onio gets back up, growling, and seething at the teeth. "Your father wasn't wrong after-all. You are stronger than he is! But guess what!?" Kakarot leaned in, teasing Onio with his hands by his ear. "I'M THE ALL MIGHTY ONIO!" he shouts in a burst of rage. The pressure in the air increases, causing the wind to knock his wife over. Kakarot stands there as his hair is blowing in one direction, unfazed. The short man lunges at Kakarot, who ducks under a punch and retaliates with a gut-check. Before Onio fell to his knee, Kakarot kneed him in the face, grabbed him by the collar, punched him in the chest, let go and punted him back into the sky. Onio was then met with a fiery hot chi attack to the back, propelling him away for hundreds of miles per hour. Kakarot zoomed in on Onio, circled around him, chuckling and kicked him upside down in the pelvis, knocking Onio back down once more. As he was speeding downward toward land, Kakarot stretched out his hand and utilized a kiai push, striking the air so hard that the pressure of the wind punched Onio down hard enough to increase the velocity at which he fell.

Onio's crash left a gaping hole just right outside North City. Kakarot hadn't as much as gotten a proper warm-up out of him and yet it appeared that Onio was already out for the count.

Touching down, Kakarot walked over to the edge of the crater, arms folded as if he had just completed an easy task. Onio struggled, but the bloodied Saiyan climbed up the walls of the crater until he came at the edge. Aiming his hand directly down below him, Kakarot says, "Resilient, but that crater is where your body will begin rotting after I send you to the after life."

Before he could deliver the final attack, Onio's wife gets in the middle of him with her hands against Kakarot's chest. "YOU WILL NOT KILL MY HUSBAND!" Beating on his chest, she started to cry and beg for mercy on her husband. Onio felt nothing but shame but was powerless to do anything at this moment. He was just far too weak. His wife went as far as to get on her knees as tears streamed down her face, still verbally pleading that Kakarot let them both just live. She promised that they'd never come back. She just wanted to spend their 17th anniversary somewhere nice.

Her never-ending pleas drowned out in Kakarot's ears as he had his finger pointed directly at her forehead. Being brought to a flashback, he precisely remembered when he was in this position, as a little boy. A young mother pleaded for her life, crying right on the sidewalk. As a young and ruthless boy, he murdered and innocent woman without remorse.

But the thing about this woman came down to one simple thing.

She wasn't innocent.

Kakarot didn't hesitate. Right through the woman's cranium appeared a hole that was caused by a death-beam from Kakarot himself. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head as her body went limp prior to rolling over Onio's head and down into the deep crater far below. Onio cried her name out loudly, though there was no way she could hear him now.

"Now…" Kakarot re-directed his attention back to Onio. "Where were we?"

Onio goes into a state of shock. His breath freezes and his body receives an entire cold chill throughout. All those years with his wife, Onio always thought in the many more to come. And all of that was stripped away from him within seconds! It was unfair, unjust...

Slowly getting up on his feet as he seethed in anger, Kakarot complimented him. "That's right, die with pride like a true Saiyan warrior - on your feet! Go out a true Saiyan unlike your pathetic excuse of a wife."

That sent Onio into a fit of rage. He let out an ear-drum shattering scream as his energy crackled like never before. So much tension was behind his spiking power that Kakarot was taken off-guard and forced to stumble back. The bright and sunny area of North City is no longer bright. Dark clouds surround them, blocking the sun's rays. Lightning strikes just yards away from them. Rain immediately starts to pour.

But Onio doesn't care. The final imagery of scene his wife getting killed sends him over the edge.

"MY HONEY!"

His aura changes to that of a golden color as does his hair. The black eyes go teal and the power spike that Kakarot felt from within shocks him. It was far superior to that of the Kaio-Ken - and by a landslide. The power surge left a gaping hole that stopped just short of North City's barrier.

As soon as his power transformation is complete, Kakarot is punted off his behind right to the chin. Onio maneuvers behind Kakarot, grabs him in a choke-hold and drives both of them into the ground with nothing held back. Kakarot is grabbed from underneath and slammed against the barrier and proceeds to being punched so hard in the stomach that it breaks. People panic all over as the fight has broken the premises and came within their city.

Kakarot gets up from crashing into a car, swiping at Onio, only for him to miss. He gets kneed and elbowed in the back before being punted in the chest, grabbed by the face mid-air, and slammed down on top of a fire-hydrant. Water built up from within sends Kakarot into the sky. Subsequent to being followed, Kakarot is rendered over a thousand strikes to the gut consecutively until the water stops pumping. After, he's kicked in the abdomen, crashing down on top of another car.

Kakarot blocks his face with his arm as Onio comes right at him, but his defenses are broken and Kakarot's nose is shattered thanks to the tip of Onio's knee, which almost cracks his skull in half. Kakarot lets out an agonized yell. He grabs Onio at the waist, but the chubby Saiyan knees Kakarot in the chin to force the taller Saiyan to let him go. Onio hops off and only allows Kakarot once second to roll over before his face is slammed into the main street of North City and dragged on each and every different road prior to being swung over into a candy store.

Putting both his hands out, Onio screams, "DIE!" unleashing everything he has. The entire store is hit and five other buildings come crashing down as collateral, with some other people killed due to not escaping in time.

Huffing and puffing, Onio looks dead on until he notices some sign of life. Kakarot raising his hand above the rubble as a sign to show he was still alive was more than enough. Onio went over and picked Kakarot up from underneath it all.

His vision a daze, Kakarot truly believed he was seeing three of the same person. Still, he had enough common sense to articulate himself understandably. "W-What are you…"

Looking down at a broken piece of mirror, Onio spots his dusted reflection to be entirely different than what he was used to growing up. He was under the impression that anger had increased his power to new heights - which it technically did, but it turned out to be much more than that.

Placing the palm of his hand directly on the spot where Kakarot's kidney resides, Onio whispers in his ear, "Isn't it obvious? I'm a Super Saiyan…"

And Kakarot is sent into shock not just by the words of Onio, but at how he had the side of his stomach mercilessly blown into by a wave of ki. Letting go of his hand, Kakarot flies over until he lands down on a rusted pipe that was still standing amidst all the rubble, forcing the young warrior to let out a blood-curdling scream.

Hearing Kakarot's screams of agony brought much satisfaction to Onio. One side was completely blown away as the other was penetrated by a pipe. Sure enough, he'd be dead in minutes. Smiling down on Kakarot, Onio chuckled.

"Now, are you going to beg?" he asked. "Beg like my wife did? Or are you going to just choke on your own blood and die like the miserable trash you are?" Not getting a response, Onio leaned over and grabbed Kakarot by the collar, bringing him to his face. "ANSWER ME!"

Kakarot, somehow, miraculously, finds a way to smile through the pain. Spitting blood in Onio's face, he lets out a pained laugh. This only caused Kakarot to get clocked right in the jaw and left there. He wipes Kakarot's blood off his face and flicks it back onto him as he lied there.

"Just like your father...just when he knew he was going to lose, he laughed in the face of death - like he enjoyed it. Either that or he found my comment of being the strongest Saiyan funny." He smiled. "Well, there's no doubt about it now...I'm untouchable. I'm the strongest. And you can't do anything about it." Turning his back on Kakarot, Onio began to walk away. "I'll be sure to slaughter everyone here before catching up with your daddy and giving him the dreadful news."

Kakarot laughed even louder. It was the most agonizing pain he ever felt in his life. By each second, he felt his own life force fading, but he pushed on. Leaning up, Kakarot gripped onto the pipe through his stomach and continued to get up. a single centimeter felt like he was being crashed into by a dozen planets at once, but the only thing to keep him going was the realization of how much stronger he'd be after this. Laughing on like a mad man, Onio stops and turns around to watch Kakarot get on his two feet and immediately fall flat on his face. His vision is so blurred out that he feels himself to be in a different universe. His body is cold and weak. Yet, he knows what he has to do.

Onio just stands there, looking at Kakarot, who's becoming more lifeless by the second. Truth be told, he took no enjoyment out of this. Because at the end of the day, he wouldn't be able to get his wife back.

Reaching into his pants, Kakarot pulls out a green bean. His entire arm shakes as he tries to put it into his mouth. Onio, being unaware of what this little edible piece is, ignores it and just watches. "Foolish of you to think you'd actually get to enjoy a last meal. Clown."

Kakarot's dark, crimson blood colored lips curled wider as he chewed on the bean. He can already feel the healing process beginning. Slamming two of his hands on the ground, he slowly starts to get up.

"I win," Kakarot said once he's on his two feet.

As if he were seeing a ghost, Onio is in disbelief at the sight of Kakarot's sides healing. His wounds seem to just grow back like lost limbs in rapid fashion. "W-What the hell…"

Kakarot feels a great strength come over him, something like never before. "A Saiyan grows substantially in strength on death's door-step, fatty. That bean I just ate? It's the most powerful healing substance the universe has to offer." He then chuckled. "That beating you gave me?" He licked his lips. "I loved it."

Onio rushes in at Kakarot once more and the other Saiyan does the same. Now much stronger, the two continue their fight.

Holding her baby while in the hospital bed, Chi-Chi let out a sigh of relief. "Why did he have to wait until he almost died? He could have taken it sooner and still gotten strong enough." As she stressed, her new-born baby cried and cried on. She wouldn't dare let any of the doctors take him away from her. Hell, nobody had even cut the umbilical cord yet. But once she felt Kakarot's power grow, she chilled out, and so did her child.

"It's still a damn shame," Bulma voiced her opinion. "He should be here with you and the baby, not out there risking his life."

"Well, what do you expect from someone born from a warrior race? He's going to grab any fight he can get!" Krillin leans against the wall and closes his eyes as he takes another sip of his coffee. "A genius when it comes to fighting, sure. But he's an idiot in my eyes."

"I know for a fact you wouldn't have let the fight drag on so long," Roshi said to Gyumao. The giant just shook his head.

While Gyumao could respect the fact that Kakarot was doing something different for his life, fighting and protecting the world, he felt there was still something off about him. How could someone just change so quick with no hesitation? There had to be something to it, but he just couldn't put his finger on it. For sure, something was up with him.

Going at it head to head in an even matched battle, it didn't take all that long until Onio was no longer able to handle the outrageous power that came with being a Super Saiyan. Though still rightfully livid, his rage could only keep him going for so long. Kakarot went at him blow for blow, slowly but surely wearing the man out.

As they continued their aerial assault, back and forth, the heavy breathing and sweating was Kakarot's cue. He dodged Onio's oncoming direct ki blast to the face and drove his fist into the chubby man's stomach, making him double over. Kakarot followed with a brutal elbow to the neck turned around, grabbed Onio by the throat and rammed him face first into the concrete streets of North City.

No longer able to maintain his power, Onio's golden hair vanishes as he goes back to his normal state. Kakarot picks Onio up by the throat, smiling maliciously. As much as a changed man Kakarot 'showed' himself to be, the violence that came with this battle was the most thrilling he had in ages. Beating someone who just humiliated him mere moments ago was always the sweetest victory in his eyes, to kill his opponent who thought that they truly had him beat. It never got old.

"Last chance," Kakarot told Onio. "Beg like a dog for mercy like your brainless wife did and I'll contemplate on letting you tuck your tail…" he then paused, looking at Onio's waist…"or lack there of, between your legs and you scatter away like the pussy cat that you are." Onio grunted and spat in Kakarot's face. This caused his smile to widen. "Just the answer I wanted." He let go of Onio and blasted a gaping hole through his stomach.

As he lies down on his back, Onio looks up at Kakarot with sheer hatred. "Since the tables have turned and you happen to be the one choking on your own blood, I will gladly be the one to share my final words to you before I send you to the greatest depths of hell." He walked over to Onio's side and crouched down to get close and personal.

"I've beaten you, a Super Saiyan, while I myself haven't transcended yet. You realize how unlikely that is? Hell, are you even remotely cognizant enough to see what this means? It means that you're no true Super Saiyan, just some fool who got a power spike out of anger." Kakarot smiles. "The first Super Saiyan in how long and you have nothing to show for it." He stares at Onio in his eyes for the last few minutes until he finally croaks before standing up and turning around.

Despite the victory, it was still bitter sweet for Kakarot. He could only leave seething at the teeth. The only thing that irked him the most? He still wasn't able to transcend like that pathetic excuse of a Saiyan did.

With the sun set on the horizon, Kakarot had finally managed to make it back home after dealing with press and enjoying solitude by taking a nice, hot spring bath out in the wild. Upon entering the door, he greeted Chi-Chi, who was already up on her two feet and cooking.

"Smells like fish," Kakarot said out loud. "My favorite." He stood there, expecting a response from Chi-Chi, but she didn't bother speaking to him and kept her sole attention on the food. The Saiyan thought it was odd as she would normally tell him just exactly what she had prepared, even if it happened to be the same meal for a week straight. But sensing his son's energy was what diverted his attention elsewhere.

Going to their room, Kakarot notices the crib in which the boy is sleeping. Wrapped in a blanket, all peaceful, yet for some reason his energy signals are through the roof. For the first time, Kakarot could say he had pride in someone else beside himself. It was a weird feeling, yet it felt good. The fact that something so powerful came from him meant something. It meant that, he too, was powerful - something he always believed in since he was a small boy.

Just as he was preparing to pick up the child, Chi-Chi's hand being firmly pressed on his shoulders prevented him from doing so. "Don't. He just went to sleep a few minutes ago. He's already making the house shake when he cries."

"That's good; a constant reminder that we've made a powerful boy."

Chi-Chi sighs as she heads over to the door of the bed-room. "Kakarot...out of all the options that you had today, why did you decide to go fight whoever came here instead of staying and spending time with your family like you should have?"

"That's my duty...to protect this family."

"Krillin, Tien, or anyone else we know could have quickly handled that problem with ease, yet you jumped ship immediately. That's not a good excuse. A true man sticks by his family no matter the circumstance."

"This is apart of what makes me a better man," Kakarot firmly tells her. "Need I remind you of all the horrible things I've done in the past? It's not just about my duty as that boy's father, but also a personal resolve of mine. To protect this home. The person who came to this planet was a Saiyan, like me...on a quest to conquer this world...something I've done all my life. I'm all too well familiar with it and for the first time I was on the opposite side of the spectrum. It's just another way for me to actually believe that I'm doing good. What's so hard to understand about that?" Chi-Chi just crossed her arms. Kakarot smiles at her innocently and reassures her that he'll stick by his family, no matter what. After all, that's the only thing he can do now to prove to himself that he's actually changed.

"Good," Chi-Chi says, relieved. "At least I know you'll be able to keep him in check when he gets stronger than me one of these days, and to get to spend some quality time with him."

"There's no better way for us to spend some quality time than to spar," Kakarot commented.

Chi-Chi chuckles. "We'll have to hold off a few years for that."

"I know...but that power I sense from him...that's just him sleeping. Amazing, isn't it?"

"It is," Chi-Chi says. She approaches Kakarot and grabs him by the waist, placing her head on his shoulder as they watch their new-born sleep. "It'll be our responsibility to train him so that he can control his power and use it properly. Perhaps one day, Gohan will do great things with it."

"Gohan, huh? That's his name?"

"We decided to name him after Gyumao's best friend and rival, Son Gohan...the man you killed as a boy by Roshi...remember?"

Kakarot nodded. "I remember all too well. And I like it. He has the name of a true warrior."
