Finn and Paris left in their respective Ubers that night. They were still coherent and alert, but a little too drunk to drive. Their goodbyes had been friendly, promising to do this again sometime, with a quick hug. Perfectly charming, and indistinct. Finn didn't feel particularly proud about that vagueness, but he had been the one to actually invite her out, even if it wasn't unmistakably out-out. But he'd hoped to see some indication from her before he made any move that he wasn't just imagining this.

Paris rode home, staring out into the darkness, utterly confused about what she had just experienced. She was not cut out to deal with people, she had said so out loud before. Her social antennae had been off more times they had been on, feeling uncomfortable whenever there was any ubiquity concerning the guy's intentions. She hated feeling like this and her leg that bounced against the floor of the car was a clear sign of nerves. She arrived at her house and threw off her boots. The nanny and her kids were already fast asleep. She paced around the kitchen for a good twenty minutes, not sure what she wanted. She checked the fridge - no it wasn't hunger or thirst. She was too wired to sleep, too bouncy to work. She needed to know what this was.

Five minutes later the same Uber that had dropped her off was back in front of her house. She'd considered canceling at least three times after ordering it, but there it now stood. She took a deep breath, quickly pulled on some sneakers and hopped into the car.

"Fairfield, I'll tell you which one," she said to the driver

She arrived to see Finn's figure through the kitchen window. Adrenalin raced in her veins.

Finn saw the familiar figure march up his front door determinedly, and opened the door before she got there.

"Paris?" he said, looking at her a little surprised. It was her alright, except her heels had been changed to sneakers and instead of her wool coat she wore a light cardigan.

"Listen Finn, I know it might be a little weird, but I've got to ask. I hate this guessing game. I suck at guessing people's intentions or reading their ques, so here goes. I know I am not some standardized package you probably usually go for, but, hey, we share some interests and we even like the same people, we're both single with kids. What I want to ask is, was this what we did just now a date?" she confronted him, unable to stand still, and doing the only thing she knew that could relieve the tensity.

Finn listened at her brief lecture from his doorway, looking over her far too lightly dressed figure thinking she must've been freezing. "Are you done?" he asked just as she finished, with a smug smile, as his hands grabbed her waist and pulled her close firmly while leaning down to kiss her fiercely. He could feel her cool skin warm slightly up again against his touch. It only took him two steps backwards to reverse and shut the door, still holding on to her.

"You must be freezing," he stated, unwilling to let go of her waist.

"I didn't notice," she replied, slightly trembling.

"Do you need to get back?" Finn asked, begging inside that she didn't.

The last two minutes had been such a rush, her inner self screamed for it to continue. "No yet," she replied.

Rory was just making Leah dinner, boiled broccoli and rice-noodles with a stir-fried egg, when Logan's driver pulled up with the Audi and opened the door for him. Sometimes she forgot how much money he really had and how used to he was to that kind of treatment. This was normal for him. He'd had a car service when he first met her even. Rory shook the thought away, focusing herself to plate Leah's food and handing it to her already hungry toddler impatiently waiting for her meal. Luckily Leah was always easy when it came to food. She wasn't fussy, ate everything offered and anywhere. She'd even tried spicy and sour tastes. She served her a little cup of peanut butter sauce, she'd brought along from an Indonesian place she'd been to over lunch the other day, which she knew Leah enjoyed.

"Hey, you miss me?" Logan stepped into the kitchen.

"Of course," Rory said, handing Leah a babyfork.

Logan stepped close giving her a side-ways hug and a quick kiss.

"That looks yummy, Leah. Mind if I have some?" he teased Leah.

"No!" declared Leah.

"Fine, you can have it," he laughed.

"Are you hungry?" Rory asked.

"I ate in the car, I'll just make something later," he replied.

Rory looked at the fridge, choosing between a day old Chinese fried rice and the Indonesian Gado Gado. "So anything new at work?" she inquired, picking up the fried rice, she preferred to eat cold.

"Well actually I did get an interesting offer, but I am pretty sure I am going to turn it down," he began.

"What is it?" she asked, taking a large mouthful of rice, keeping an eye on Leah at the same time.

"One of the older partners is stepping down, so there'll be a vacancy in the Miami office," he explained. "But as I said, it's more about the rush of being offered a new opportunity than actually wanting to move," he added.

Rory chewed her food, swallowing it before replaying, "But is the job what you want to do?"

"It's something new, but not something I have been longing for in particular. The marketing department just has grown a little dull on me," he explained.

"You have my full support if you want to do something different, but I would prefer not having to move," she stated. Logan knew what she meant. Staying close to Finn was important for both her and Leah, and she'd just gotten a home she could call her's.

"I know, don't worry," he said knowing that Rory came not only with Leah, but with a bundle of Finn, Paris, Lorelai and almost everyone else in Stars Hollow. He'd made the mistake of pushing her to pick-up and leave with him before, which had backfired notoriously. Of course back then there had been other contributing factors, now instead of insecurities there were blood ties and roots.

"Rory, hi!" Emily called.

"Hi grandma," Rory answered.

"I'm just sending you over some links on possible venues. Berta just showed me how. You should be getting it any second now," she said.

"Look at you, getting tech-savvy! Good for you!" Rory commented.

"Read them through and tell me which one you like. They all have some vacancies in June," she added.

"Sure thing, I will! Thank you!" Rory said, hanging up and opening her laptop to check her emails.

Indeed there were three e-mails from Emily Gilmore. All the e-mails had the same contents but it was the thought that counted. She browsed through a 19th century Beaux Art Style mansion, a botanical garden, Hartford country club house, a Relais & Châteaux hotel and a refurbished lace factory. It didn't take her long to rule out the country club and the botanical gardens. She'd never been much of a fan of either golf or plants.

"Logan, are you busy?" she called from the doorway of her office to Logan who was working at the dinner table in the living room, adding, "We really should get you a proper desk, you know."

He closed his laptop, declaring, "all done for today." "If I get a desk, it'll feel like actually being in the office, I wouldn't want that," he said, adding, "at least not yet," feeling the minor strain on his neck.

"Emily sent over some venues, do you want to come and take a look?" Rory asked.

"Sure, Ace," he replied, stepping close and wrapping his hand around her, giving her a kiss.

Ten minutes later they'd excluded the mansion, which Logan remembered having been to for a wedding before.

"So that leaves the boutique hotel or the lace factory," she concluded, adding, "I'll have grandma check which dates they have available."

"You got an estimated guest list yet?" he asked

"I've been having a dilemma with it, " she began. "The immediate family and friends are like 30-40 people including some plus ones. I think it's going to be a bit outnumbered on your side. Emily once told me that was not appropriate. I figured, okay, I could invite some guys from the office, but I don't really want to rub it in, and inviting a bunch of old friends from Stars Hollow seems a little weird, I know most of them would just end up feeling uncomfortable in a very formal setting," Rory explained.

"Are you ashamed of my family, Ace?" he asked smugly, laughing.

"I guess I am a little. I just don't want them to feel out of place," she added.

"But that's just the thing, you are the one who gets to decide what kind of event this is going to be. And if there is more of them or at least more than currently, the event will very likely turn into something you'll fully enjoy," Logan explained.

"I'll call the Zydeco band then," Rory said jokingly, gaining confidence.

"I'd like to be there to see Shira's face when you tell her that," he laughed.
