Series 2, Episode 72 ~ House of Hijack
"look, guys, we've got Trudy, let's just go."
"she's right, guys come on," Fabian ordered.
It was too little too late.
As Fabian pushed on the door, they found it was locked.
They were trapped inside.
"RUFUS!" Jerome screamed as he and Fabian started pounding on the door as if that would help somehow.
"LET US OUT!" Amber and Camilla screamed to whoever was on the other side of the door locking them in.
"You're not going to get away with this!" Fabian shouted at whoever was on the other side, "we know it was you!"
"RUFUS!" Jerome let out a frustrated scream before kicking the door causing him to flinch in pain as he turned away from the door. All of them hearing footsteps fade away and they knew whoever was on the other side was gone.
Fabian turned and looked to Camilla seeing the girl shake her head at him looking apologetic, both twins knowing any magic usage was not an option because Trudy was with them. They needed to find a way-out using muggle methods.
"The windows are barred," Fabian spoke up as he analysed the room. "this is no good... we are trapped!"
"once again," Amber smiled at them, "Agent Millington saves the day. What would you guys do without me?" She pulled out her last Curby grip and held it out to Fabian to use causing the boy to look back at her perplexed. "that is my last one, you can use it to pick the lock. Just keep me away from anything reflective upon exit."
Jerome groaned as he turned away from the girl biting his tongue from saying something harsh knowing the girl's heart was in the right place, even if she hadn't realised the locks in question where on the opposite side of the door.
"Thanks..." Fabian spoke kindly to Amber, "but the locks are on the other side of the door."
"Oh." Amber realised looking to the door.
"This is all my fault." A hysterical Trudy spoke up leaning into Camilla's comforting embrace.
"technically true!" Jerome spoke up but was silenced with one stern look from Camilla, and a hit from Fabian for good measure.
"Trudy," Amber spoke up taking the woman's hand, "we would never leave you."
"we're all on the same team, don't worry."
"Actually, if it comes to it, I am happy for all of us to get out separately. I don't even mind going first!" Jerome's panic had gotten the better of him.
"Jerome Clarke," Camilla warned him in a tone even Trudy knew to be deadly as she watched the girl point a finger at him, "do yourself a favour and shut the hell up before I do something dangerous."
Jerome gulped slightly and nodded his head slightly. Rufus might be petrifying but he was sure Camilla could be equally so if she put her mind to it.
"Yeah, man up Clarke!" Amber agreed with Camilla after she and Fabian shared a bemused smile at how easily the boy could be scared of their friend.
The five had been trapped in the barn for at least half an hour, all of them taking turns at banging on the door. Camilla was sat next to Jerome using his shoulder as a lean as she watched Amber and Trudy screaming for help and Fabian looking around for anything to help them in the dusty old place.
"its no use... it won't budge." Amber groaned as she moved away from the door and sat next to Camilla. The two girls instantly taking each other's hands for comfort, "we're never going to get out of here."
"yes, we will!" Jerome spoke as he eyed up a metal wall, knowing with enough magic Camilla probably could push it open – if only Trudy wasn't with them. Amber and Camilla followed his eye line and knew instantly what he was hinting at.
"too noisy... even if we did it at night she'd wake up." Camilla sighed.
"its better than nothing," Jerome whispered, all of them knowing they at least had a plan B even if they had no clue how they were going to lie their way out of Trudy's questions.
"Listen... listen..." Trudy shouted from the door causing Fabian to rush to her and press his ear against the wood too. "it's an engine."
"its Rufus." Fabian groaned, turning to his sister worry flooding his features, "he's back."
Jerome shook his head as he got to his feet to approach the door too, "that doesn't sound like his car."
"is it me or does it sound like its getting closer?" Camilla asked as she too got to her feet, before turning to help Amber up too.
"There is someone out there!" Amber realised causing them all to start screaming hoping to get their attention.
"Whoa..." Jerome shut them all up, "listen, listen, listen..."
They all paused to hear the engine noises get closer and closer.
"don't you think we should—" Fabian spoke up, before he could finish the sentence Camilla had grabbed Amber and hauled the pair of them out of the way, Fabian and Jerome doing the same Trudy not being so lucky as whoever was on the other side knocked into the door the woman and the door went crashing to the ground.
The four Sibuna's looked up panting from the dusty floor to see Alfie Lewis looking at them all with a huge grin on his face sat on top of a motorised lawnmower. Of all things, he could rescue them with.
"YES!" The boy screamed victoriously. "HOW COOL WAS THAT!"
Camilla let go of Amber who had curled into the girl for protection. Fabian jumping to his feet and helping the blonde up Jerome doing the same with Camilla. All of them dusting down their clothes as they took in the destruction Alfie had caused.
"I knew you'd come, Alfie!" Amber joyfully called out to the boy who grinned her way.
"nice one Alfie," Jerome agreed.
"oh no..." Alfie jumped off the machine and rushed to the door which Trudy lay under, Camilla joining him in seconds to do a once over of their housemother. Nothing seemed broken or damaged but she would have had one huge bump to the head at least.
"Trudy!" Amber screamed following Camilla's movement to the woman, the boys going to the door to try to lift it and struggling.
Camilla noticed and flicked two fingers into the air, all of them feeling the wind rush around them as it lifted the door to help the boys before throwing it to one side.
Fabian let out a gasp as they saw the wreckage of what else was under the door. Trudy wasn't the only one hit, but the dollhouse had been too.
"Where am I?" Trudy asked Amber and Camilla who were knelt by her head groggily.
"oh no..." Jerome muttered.
"the dollhouse!" Amber screamed as she took in the broken mess that was the dollhouse. This hadn't been an all together win but at least they had gotten Trudy back... at least that was what Camilla was telling herself.
Fabian and Jerome helped Trudy into Anubis house, Camilla taking the led opening doors for them whilst Alfie tripled checked again that Amber was okay.
"Alfie get the pillows!" Fabian ordered as they entered the living room, causing the boy to leave the blonde's side and rush to the couch to arrange the pillows to the top so they could lay Trudy down to rest.
Nina and Patricia rushing in as Camilla looked at Victor with a serious expression. The four students in uniform were covered in dust and dirt and they had just brought Trudy back who had fainted the moment she sat down on the couch. She hoped it be enough of a scene to show Victor that if he didn't step in when it came to Rufus that the Sibuna's would deal with the problem themselves no matter the consequences.
"This is going to sound controversial, but I think that went well..." a whisper came from Jerome behind Camilla causing the girl to break eye contact with Victor and look to the boy. sending him a secret smile simply for him, as he put an arm around her shoulder and pulled her into a side hug. They were back in Anubis house. They where safe-ish and they had gotten Trudy. Not too bad for a group of 16-year olds.
"Where am I?" Trudy asked once again as she took in the group that was huddled around her. "why am I on the couch?"
"Eh..." was the resounding noise from the group.
"Why are you all staring at me?"
"don't you remember?" Fabian asked as Victor knelt down by the woman looking over her with a critical eye. She seemed exhausted and malnourished but there were no physical injuries on her.
"Remember what?" Trudy asked, glancing from Victor to Fabian.
"Oh no..." Amber sighed, "control alt delete Trudy's logged off."
Victor groaned slightly and got to his feet looking to the students, "can someone please tell me what is going on? Trudy, what has happened?"
Fabian's eye's widened as he quickly spoke up seeing the woman looking blankly at Victor, "Trudy you were going for a walk in the woods..."
"and there was, eh, a big branch," Camilla added for her brother.
"yes, a big branch... it fell on you." Fabian agreed with Camilla looking to the girl gratefully, before glancing back down at Trudy, "don't you remember?"
"Maybe... oh I don't know. Is that what happened?"
A round of 'Yep's' was heard from all the Sibuna's and Victor looked down at the old housemother in concern. He didn't believe the twin's story at all, but If she had really bumped her head they needed to look after her.
"What exactly happened?" Victor asked the woman gently.
"Don't bother her with questions." Vera interrupted as she rushed over to the group with a cool compress in her hand.
Camilla couldn't help but cross her arms at the woman's appearance a frown appearing on her face.
"The last thing I remember was..." Trudy trailed off looking to Vera. For a second Camilla swore Vera looked terrified about something as if Trudy was going to out her, which didn't really matter because the Sibuna's all knew the housemother to be evil anyway – hell Camilla had known most of the year the new housemother wasn't to be trusted. "who won the bake-off?" Trudy, however, asked with a small smile.
Vera looked relieved for a second before her practised kind smile graced her face, "you did dear," she laughed kindly, "it was a triumph."
"Oh... oh good."
The Sibuna's all looked at one another in worry, they no longer had Trudy to help them prove Rufus was back.
Camilla and Jerome were tidying up the dining room table after dinner. Amber had done a switch with chores once again, causing the two to be together. Though not that either of them minded. Fabian watched the pair with a smile on his face, Vera had popped out so the two knew they wouldn't get in trouble as they used the silverware to mock fight one another around the table. Despite everything, they were going through it was nice to see his sister laughing and smiling even if it was over something small.
He turned his attention back to the small group in the living room as Nina started to talk – she was phoning the hospital about her gran. He was very quick to notice that he hadn't been the only one watching the pair's childlike antics. Mara sat next to Joy with a textbook out her face looking thunderous as she watched the pair, causing Fabian to frown. He had known Camilla had talked to Joy when he was with Nina at the start of the year, but if Jerome caused Camilla the same happiness as Nina did for him, he would fight for that happiness even if it meant putting on the big brother act.
Mara glanced at Fabian as if sensing his eyes on her and noticed the look on his face, causing her to let out a slightly nervous cough sound before focusing on her textbook again.
"I just wanted to leave a message," Nina spoke into the phone her voice caused Fabian to look away from the clearly jealous girl. He knew 'girl talk' and 'relationship talk' wasn't his strongest point but he couldn't help but feel a little odd at seeing the look on Mara's face. Maybe he needed to give Mick a message to see if the two had broken up or something, but the boy always spoke like they were doing the long-distance thing and it was going well, from what Fabian could gather. Maybe he needed Millington help with this situation.
"Evelin Meridian Martin," Nina spoke again, "just, let her know that her granddaughter called and that I'll come to visit really soon. Thanks." With that Nina hung up the phone as the pair sword fighting left the room with talks of saving Alfie from the Rom-Com marathon Amber was making him sit through that night.
Nina watched Camilla go with a smile on her face. Smiles seem so rare on the girl these days she was glad the twin had someone who could easily cause her to smile. The looked to Fabian. He was that person for Nina, it was nice to know Camilla might have found that someone too. "I haven't been to visit in forever," she told the boy who looked at her with a sympathetic smile as she sat down next to him. "I am a terrible person."
"no, Nina," Fabian instantly retorted, "you can't be in two places at once. You visit when you can and she knows that." Fabian looked down before adding, "there's other news."
Nina looked up at him confused.
"When Alfie broke down the barn door, the dollhouse..." Fabian trailed off as he lifted the small chimney he had managed to salvage from the wreckage. Nina took it off him looking upset. "I'm sorry it's beyond repair... even Camilla has tried everything she can think off." He added sorrow in his tone as he watched Nina cradle the piece of dollhouse Fabian had given her, it was one of her last links to Sarah. "I saved you that part."
The next day Camilla let out a yawn as she lay on her bed, laptop open a cup of tea on her desk as she waited for Amber to finish the complicated hairstyle, she was putting in her hair. While she waited, she decided she'd update her school profile because she hadn't actually done that since the start of the school year and as much as she loved Gary the goat it was time for a new profile picture.
To get to the profile pages you needed to go via the homepage and the newest Jackle article was up so Camilla decided to read that first. Within the first sentence, the girl sat up looking alarmed. The article was an utter bitchy thing about Nina.
"Cam, where are you going?" Amber asked as she watched her friend raced from the room with her laptop in her hand.
Camilla raced down the stairs and into the dining room seeing Nina stood with Fabian and Alfie, deciding to talk to her brother privately about how they would go about telling Nina about the article first.
"What is this?!" Alfie screamed as he looked at the empty table, "there should be stuff here! Right where this table is! There should be food."
"where is Vera?" Nina asked.
"who bloody cares," Camilla couldn't help but say causing the three to look at her, "what we all know I'm not team Vera."
"yeah, but it's not like her to be even a minute late." Nina countered causing Camilla to have to begrudgingly nod her head.
"Maybe we should go see if she's alright?"
"Oh?" Trudy wandered in with a smile on her face, "no Vera?" she asked the students who all shook their heads at her. "I'll make you breakfast then, at least I can remember how to do that."
"Trudy, you should be resting," Nina said following the woman into the kitchen as Alfie followed the pair telling Nina to hush as he wanted his breakfast.
Fabian hung back as he saw the look on his sister's face and the laptop she was clutching to her chest. "Cam, what's up?"
"Nina Martin," a yawning Victor walked into the room as Camilla wandered to her brother. "I have just had a phone call from Mr Sweet you are to go see him. directly before school, which is now."
Nina looked at Victor confused from inside the kitchen but nodded her head and exited.
"I'm sure that's nothing we should be worried about," Fabian told his sister.
"oh yeah, what have we done wrong along with Nina, bar skipping classes, lying and stealing."
"Oh har har," Fabian told the girl good-naturedly. "now what is wrong with you?"
"Fabian... have you read the school website today?" Camilla asked her brother with worry causing the boy's brows to furrow in confusion. What on the school website had Camilla so worked up.
