In the end, there had been no escaping Toga and his alarm system, or her mother and her constant worrying. She'd acquiesced to the system being installed and had agreed to call her mother every evening at some point. It was the only concession she could make, despite the fact that she saw her mother on a daily basis.
Now, standing almost completely alone in her apartment, she was at a loss. He hadn't left, had in fact sat himself with some certain grace and aplomb on her loveseat, silent. She could do naught but stare at him, wondering, confused, uncertain. Finally, the silence was biting at her and she could take it no more. "Thank you for staying," she said softly, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye as she twisted her hands nervously.
Sesshoumaru watched her, saw how as each person slowly drifted out of her apartment, the tension eked back into her shoulders, the stress leaked back into her eyes. He knew it wasn't because of the bloody mess her room had become or the entirety of the situation at all. It was because of him and the fact that he had done nothing in his short semi-acquaintance of her, to alleviate her fear of him. Letting a near imperceptible sigh escape, he motioned to her couch. "This Sesshoumaru will not harm you, either," he said, thinking of the promise his father had made her.
She 'eeped', blushed and plunked gracelessly onto the soft cushions, staring at him. "I'm sorry!" she blurted.
"Hn."
