Maya looked over at Amelia sleeping on the couch. She was worried about Olivia's mental health when she heard the news about Jake and Abby. Maya knew that Olivia was still not fully over her breakup with Jake, and Amelia was a constant reminder of how Jake got her pregnant and took Abby to prom. When Olivia was pregnant with Amelia, Maya wanted her to think about all of her options. Jake let Olivia know that he was marrying Abby. Olivia agreed to let Abby adopt Amelia. She was embarrassed, and she wanted to move on with her life. She cried the whole pregnancy saying she didn't want to be a teen mom statistic.

When she finally seemed to be doing better, Jake moved to DC with Amelia and Abby. Jake being a teacher at the same school made it worse for Olivia, but she was good at tuning him out. Olivia never acknowledged Amelia as anything more than her student. Now Olivia was going to take on the full responsibility of raising Amelia. Maya wasn't sure if Olivia should try to be a mom to Amelia. If Olivia couldn't hide her resentment about how Amelia came into this world, the girl would be hurt. In the last few weeks, Olivia met the man of her dreams and finalized Karen's adoption. Fitz was a great guy, and he was engaged to Olivia now. Maya didn't know if Amelia had any family. If Olivia couldn't deal with her resentment, Maya would keep Amelia. She didn't want her to go into the system. Maya had to think about what was best for Olivia and for Amelia.

"How is she?"Maya asked, putting her purse on the coffee table.

"She will be okay."

"How are you Livvie?"

"I have a lot of emotions right now. I've been trying to run from any reminders of Jake for six years. Now he's gone. I want Amelia to be okay, but I don't know how to get over this hatred I have for Jake. I still see her as part of Jake."

"She came from you."

"I know, and I don't want anybody to treat her wrong. I don't know how she fits into my dream."

"Livvie, are you really going to base your whole life on a dream? When are you going to live in reality? It's great that you found the man you dreamed about, but you can't let a dream dictate your decisions. You can keep her, or I'll take her if she doesn't have any other family. I don't want that girl to grow up with you resenting her existence."

"I wouldn't hurt Amelia."

"I don't think you would intentionally, but I do worry about how you would treat her when you have a flashback of Jake leaving you pregnant and alone."

"She called me mom. I can't send her away."

"You can call me when you need a break Livvie."

"Thank you. I'm sure I'll need a break. I'm used to having a baby around. Not a six year old that's full of energy."

"It's getting late. I want to be home before it gets dark."

"Okay."

"Are you okay?"

Fitz came downstairs with Karen on his shoulder. The baby would not sleep.

"I really don't know."

"I can take her home with me."

"No, she can stay here."

"I'm not a therapist, but I do know this. Amelia is her own person. She is not Jake."
