Pain was all Erin felt, excruciating pain. So much pain she could barely make any noise. But it was a familiar pain and she knew exactly what was happening, especially when she looked down and the bathtub was filled with red. So much red.
She gulped trying to catch her breath as she held her 14 week bump, hoping everything would be okay but yet that feeling was fading away as the seconds passed.
"Ja...Jay...Jay!" She yelled, trying to yell as loud as possible but it was just so hard.
She heard footsteps approaching and faint chuckles, "Patience Er, told you I wouldn't be..."
He was cut off when he saw the scared look on his wife's face, the most terrifying look, a look he never wanted to see, "Er?"
She shook her head as tears streamed down her face, "He...Hel...Help."
Jay looked her up and down and slightly had an idea on what was happening, he quickly put his shirt back on as he reached for a towel. Turning the water off quickly, he wrapped the towel around Erin and lifted her up out of the shower.
"It's okay, it's going to be okay." He said trying to reassure her, but how could you tell that to someone when you didn't believe it yourself.
He sat with her resting on his lap hunched over as he reached for his phone, he dialled Hanks number, thankfully it was on speed dial, because he wasn't even sure if his brain would be able to remember how to make a phone call at this stage.
"Voight?"
"Hank it's me, I need you to get to our place right now. I can't explain right now but it's an emergency."
"Is it Lily? I'm going to my car right now, I won't be long."
"No its...It's Erin."
"Okay I will be there soon."
Jay rubbed the back of Erins back as she stayed hunched over screaming in agony. The screams were gut wrenching, Jay held back the tears as best he could, "Just breathe Er, just breathe."
"It's not okay, is it?" She questioned, Jay didn't want to answer.
"It will be."
The ride to the hospital was a blur, Jay sped through every single traffic light with his lights and sirens on full noise. He had his hand stretched over squeezing Erins whom had clenched so hard onto his hand, harder then when she was in labour with Lily. But Jay didn't care, the last thing he cared about right now was broken fingers.
Erin was clutching onto her baby bump, hoping for the best. But she knew, and she knew Jay knew as well.
The car came to a halting stop as Jay pulled up into the emergency bay, "Babe you need to let my hand go. Two seconds."
Erin shook her head, "No. Jay I can't do this."
"Two seconds baby." He said reaching his other hand over to cup her face, she let go and Jay quickly got out of the car running around to the passenger side as he shouted for some help.
He opened the passenger door and helped Erin out, as soon as her feet hit the ground she screamed and hunched over. Then Jay noticed the liquid that was pooling at his and her feet.
"Jay? Erin?" Maggie appeared, as well as other nurses and Natalie.
Jay looked to Natalie, his eyes explaining everything. He couldn't speak, but she knew exactly what he was telling her. Erin was in labour and it was way to early.
They put Erin on a gurney and wheeled her into a room, Jay followed, his hand squeezing tight onto Erins. The next couple minutes Jay listened as Natalie spoke to the nurses and asked for some assistance. It was all medical jargon that was going in one ear and out the other.
"Erin your in labour and you 10cm dilated, I'm going to need you to start pushing when you feel your next contraction." Natalie said.
Erin let go of Jays hand, "Jay I don't want you in here."
He tilted his head down to her, tears in his eyes, "Baby I'm not leaving you."
"Jay I don't want you to see this."
"Erin..."
"Please Jay just go." She said, pain and anger in her voice.
He nodded and gave her a quick kiss on her forehead before walking out. Once he got out of the room his brother came running up to him, "Jay!"
"Will..." Was all Jay could say before he quickly broke down.
"It's going to be okay. You's will get through this."
"It's too early Will. Too early."
Will held onto his brother, "I know. I know."
Jay had been pacing out the front of Erins room, the screams and shouts were driving him insane and all he wanted to do was run in there and be by Erins side but he had to respect his wife even if he didn't understand why.
After about half an hour Will came out with some information but Jay knew by the look on his face, "You don't have to tell me Will. I already know what your going to say."
"I'm really sorry Jay." Will said squeezing his brothers shoulder.
"Can I go in? Does she want me in there?"
Will shook his head, "They are still doing everything to make sure everything's out. She doesn't want you to see the unseeable."
"But..."
"Jay she's grieving, she's numb and she has no idea how to feel right now. It won't be long until they have finished, then she said you can go in."
"I'm her husband, I should be in there." Jay shouted through his tears.
"Jay...Man, calm down. I will wait with you until she's ready okay? Do you want me to ring anyone?" Will asked.
"Uh yeah, Hank? He should probably know. But I can't..."
Will nodded, "I got it Jay. Don't worry."
Sorry guys! Don't hate me! They will get through this.
