Even as victors are selected, there are many who chose not to submit to their greatest falls. Just as there are those who attempt to avoid being subject to the consequences of their actions, there are those who are more than eager to reap what they have sown. Where many see an ending, the strongest see their defeat as a reason to struggle for the cause that is most important to them. Such has been the nature of humans since the dawn of war. It is for those who live to witness history that such defiance is judged. The year is After Colony 225. This principle remains unshaken.

Episode 45: Unwelcome Partnerships

The rebellion in Scotland fared well for the first hours. All approaching amphibious enemies were shot down with specially prepared torpedoes. What disturbed them was that they were fighting Earth Sphere forces as the familiar IFF indicated. For Andrew, the Earth Sphere now had to be either with him or against him. "The amphibious units, were they decoys?" He thought. It would make sense for the Earth Sphere units to be forcefully mobilized for their expendability. Now with their defeat, they will know about the anti-Naval defenses. If he would be right, next will be an aerial attack to see the strength of the aerial forces.

Tano followed Cao to be guided to the bridge to speak with the Admiral. He looked briefly at the soldier, reminding him of one of his subordinates he lost on Mars. The thought left him distracted briefly but returned to himself shortly. "I'm ready to head to the bridge." He said to her.

Cao entered the floor level to the elevator panel greeting, "Of course. Right this way Lieutenant."

Norma observed the map of Earth with the crew working to maintain the perimeter within their ship range. The Admiral questioned one of the observers, "Has the enemy given any indication of their location?"

An area of the Earth Sphere map brightened around the Sahara showing every possible path the Rogue Wings were taking. "We've estimated the perimeter Admiral. They haven't likely hit any major cities within the Sahara."

"Does the leadership want us to remain here for now?" Another of the operatives tried to question.

The Admiral continued the order, "And remain on lookout for the enemy Sol Thero units. They might be trying to find their way here."

Another one of the operatives tried to consider the possibility, "Is it possible they might be sent here to touch down on Earth?"

Norma was deeply concerned with the notion when she answered, "That's the worst-case scenario we can imagine. We'll have to hope that we can muster the forces necessary to defend against them."

One of the operatives found himself deeply concerned with the probability, "This is going to be a nightmare. Those things will probably chew us alive if they manage to get here."

Cao entered the bridge with Tano behind her saluting, "Admiral, Lieutenant Tano Kiprotich is on deck to speak with you."

Norma gave a salute to them greeting, "Morning Lieutenant. I take it you have a pretty sizable number of questions after what just happened. I'll do my best to bring you up to speed, but I can't promise I have all of the info." She remembered the key order she was given earlier about the injured Lieutenant when she offered, "Command has told me that you will be brought to the colonies for something less demanding. The war is officially about to end in a matter of days, but we'll need to maintain the security."

Crossing into France was one of the few signs that General Darren Celler had been able to achieve something in driving back the remaining Earth Sphere forces. For him, it was not enough to know that only this much progress had been made as he remembered the three Gundams that were still out on the run trying to reach the capital.

Darren looked out of the hatch of his Scutum unit while smoking his pipe to comment, "They cannot hope to have anywhere to run now that they are so pressed for safety." He turned his attention to the operators below when he asked, "Do we have an indication of the enemy location?"

One of them answered, "We're getting on to something general. Out near the Vosges rang there seems to be some activity going on."

Darren gave the order, "Continue forward. We now have the ability to crush them through force of numbers by now."

The operator agreed, "Sending the order to advance now general."

One of the other operators announced, "Sir we have a signal from Brussels requesting contact."

Darren deposited his pie when he made his way down and ordered, "Give me a connection." Darren saw a hologram of General Hui Kung appear and greet, "General Celler. I trust that your progression to facing these renegade Gundams is going forward?"

Darren confirmed, "Quite so. If things progress as we hope, they will be destroyed far away from Brussels and there will be no opportunity for them to challenge our hold."

Hui noted, "It would seem that our mobile armor number reflect that we have taken less than satisfactory losses however. The further south you march, the more likely we are left defenseless in this particular area."

Darren agreed, "These loses are not ones that I hoped would come to become a reality. However, the strength of the Gundams is not something that can be simply dismissed. For right now we were simply able to force them into hiding because we now recognize they can only demonstrate their strength in so limited a field. As of right now however we should be able to destroy any remaining resistance with this upcoming offense."

Hui observed, "A strategy built on sacrifices. I'm afraid that I will have to correct you on something important general. This will not be the last bastion of resistance we will have to quell. Up north in Scotland we have reports of a potential resistance building that could arise to challenge us. It seems to be consistent of the Earth Sphere's remaining squadrons of these Griffon units we have come to identify."

Darren told him, "This issue will be easily resolved. If our numbers are capable of destroying a handful of Gundams, we will be able to see the remainder of resistance fighters destroyed thereafter."

Hui warned, "These pockets of resistance are not ones that we can dismiss just as you remind us of the power of the Gundams. Our men are already feeling strain of having to destroy so many. We may be closer to reaching a point than we are allowed."

Darren reminded, "It is all a mere demonstration of our resilience of men who are already broken general. I was witness to seeing Gundams face odds that would have been impossible not succeed, but also seen them fail. I was witness to what they are capable of at Bulge. They have limits in numbers regardless of what their actions may say."

Hui reminded, "If your plan is to succeed then you had best accomplish it quickly. The president is soon to be put on trial and the summit will be held briefly after. Wee cannot proceed with the Coalition perceiving a weakness about our support."

Darren agreed, "They will have us at a disadvantage indeed if Nathaniel Falson and his subordinates see us as unable to hold the Earth against the remains of Kecker's forces. Still do you believe that even doing so will be enough to prevent any future outbreak of conflict?"

Hui told him, "Nathaniel only has a desire to see that the men who wronged his father be brought to justice. The men he has surrounded himself with is a matter of another concern unfortunately. For now, your strategies of using your men to cut off and devastate the enemy is what you must be focused on."

Darren agreed, "I have foreseen every scenario where they intend to establish an advance. Let the news be that these men will not allow an Earth Sphere development attempt to take the capital while I draw breath."

Hui accepted, "The news of our enemies being destroyed will be the only acceptable scenario where you are right to proclaim such a promise. We will expect your results to be nothing short of optimal. There will be no reinforcements as long as this offense continues."

Darren agreed, "There will be no need. As long as the capital is held, this news will be satisfactory."

Hui concluded the contact, "We will await your report general. We wish to hear only your success."

The hologram faded and Darren was left to his men when he asked, "How close are we to the enemy's position?"

The operator in front answered, "We're closing in on their forward unit sir, but it seems like they don't have anything else making sure they aren't trying to reach us sir?"

Darren observed, "That may be possible. WE must use this to our advantage. Fire the main cannon towards their scout unit now."

The operators followed Darren's order as they loaded the shell into the cannon of the Scutum and fired towards the scout unit. Daisuke saw the shell coming towards him as he turned his Leo III around and rushed back to the area he came from. A loud explosion erupted from behind him as he saw dirt and trees fly over the eyes of his camera. He continued his rush forward as he yelled into his radio, "The enemy is here! The enemy is here! Get a move now!"

Christoph heard Daisuke deliver his warning when he responded, "Head to our location first. We're not leaving you behind."

Christoph saw another explosion in the distance and announced to everyone nearby, "Let's get a move on! We're headed this way!" He saw the other two Gundam units activate as the Leo III units followed behind them and Fredric asked, "We have a destination set then? Lead the way and get us out of here."

Christoph turned his Clotho to the northwest when he agreed, "Don't let anything slow you down. Move out and follow."

The three Nornir Gundams lead the way while the Leo IIIs followed behind and checked the areas nearby. A few seconds passed before Christoph heard Daisuke warn, "This still have a Scutum unit or two out there. They're trying to close in on our position."

Christoph saw another explosion in the distance as Daisuke's Leo III cam closer in range. The concerns began to grow as he saw several beam rifles fire from the distance while the escaping Leo III had to weave its way to safety. The Urth Gundam raised its arms as it rushed to the side of Daisuke's retreat and blocked every shot that came his way. The arms were still stable as the Gundam reached out its fists and fired a volley of missiles form its knuckles. Richard saw the explosions building when he told Christian, "Hey no distractions! We're supposed to be getting out of here!"

The Urth pulled back next to Daisuke's unit when Christian responded, "We aren't getting anywhere if we lose more of our guys!"

Christoph broke the argument, "Keep the advance going! They're closing in on us already!" The six remaining mobile suits formed on one another as they continued their escape and shots of shellfire landed right next to them.

Elna told them, "We aren't doing much better if we keep this route going! We're really cutting it close out here!"

Richard checked the skies to his right as he drew bother of his machine pistols and took aim with another shell that came soaring through the air. He was relieved to see the explosion in mid-air but was off put by the sight of multiple rifle shots from the distance taking aim at him. The incoming series of shots mostly missed with only the exception of his left arm and right side of the body being hit. Richard saw the damage warning on his computer when he told everyone, "Guys, I don't think I'm going to hold for much longer at this rate and I don't mean mentally either!"

Christoph saw the Lachesis Gundam having taken damage and told Richard, "Keep headed our current direction! Speed ahead if you can!"

Richard reached for his speed control as he felt the Lachesis rush ahead of the others. Christian told him, "Don't leave us behind! We need some kind of support against that shellfire!"

Richard saw an explosion from the ground right in front of them as he took a sharp turn and made his way back to the location of his fellow pilots. He asked, "How the hell are we supposed to pull this off?"

Fredric saw the shots from the distant brigade building when he warned, "If we keep this speed going, we're as good as dead meat!"

Christoph tried to determine a way out when he asked himself, "Our units could make it but what about the others?"

He contacted Daisuke, "Are you and the others moving at maximum speed?"

Another explosion sounded through the air as the Lachesis shot down another round of shell fire. Daisuke answered, "Yeah, we're pushing these things as hard as we can! I literally can't do shit else!"

Christoph cursed his luck, "We may not have anything else to fall back on. Do we really have nothing else?"

Richard contacted him, "Hey crazy idea time but what if we tried carrying the others out of here as the Nornir?"

Another explosion of shellfire sounded while a multitude of rifle fire landed nearby and built on the impending danger that had been building. Christoph couldn't evaluate the idea when he simply told him, "That's the only option we have right now." He contacted the three Leo III pilots, "Get ready to ditch those Leos! Once we combine, each one of you needs to get on and hold on to something when we get out of here!"

Daisuke cursed as another explosion occurred, "We're just supposed to be backseat drivers now? Our resistance is becoming too pathetic!"

Elna told him, "Better than being dead! Let's do as he says!"

Fredric agreed, "Let's bitch about our lack of options after we come out alive!"

Christoph contacted Christian and Richard as the crossfire grew, "We need to confirm now guys! Wait and see if the others can leap on after we're finished!"

Richard agreed, "You heard him, let's move it!"

Christian accepted, "As long as they aren't whining about our skills afterwards."

The Clotho Gundam took lead as it opened its back and allowed the Urth to form behind it as its arms connected with the Clothos. A series of gunfire hit the combined Gundams from behind as it brought them to wobble slightly from the it. Richard across another explosion, "You guys have issues?"

Christoph told him, "Were still even. Nothing else should be creating issues here."

Christian told him, "Just form up already!"

Richard heard this as he rushed forward with his Lachesis. The back of the Clotho closed as the three became the Nornir Triumvirate. The Gundam stood without issue as Christoph checked his systems to find he was not seeing any signs of slowing down before asking Fredric, "Do you guys see anywhere to hang on?"

He confirmed, "Seems like the neck area is secure. You should see us on there when our own mobile suits start to slow down."

Another explosion rocked the area when Christoph told them, "Just get on here alive. We're not losing anyone else."

The three Leo III units followed behind the Nornir Triumvirate when Elna told the brothers, "We're going to rush you guys. Don't disappoint."

Elna shut off her radio when the mobile suit before Christoph was able to notice the main computer notify of a foreign presence on the Nornir's back. Several explosions nearby rocked the path of the Nornir while Christoph tried to take account of the presence when he checked to see the remaining two Leo IIIs catch up to them. The registration on his computer signaled for a second and then a third presence on the back of the Nornir. He asked his brothers, "Have we got the main thrusters ready to go?"

Richard confirmed, "Just waiting for the signal to go is all."

Christian agreed, "If getting out of here can help us give a serious punch, I'm ready."

The Nornir raised its arms while the three Leo IIIs erupted in an explosion right behind them. Shots from the brigade continued to rain on them but with one final burst, the jets of the Nornir from its legs, arms, and aback sent thrusting forward towards the direction of the Earth Sphere capital. Only a few seconds had come to pass before the only thing that any of the brothers could see the shots of shellfire signaled the last dash away from their attempt to destroy them. Behind the Nornir Triumvirate, a blaze of devastation left itself with the three pilots of Leo IIIs left behind. The leading Scutum unit with Darren inside continued its advance while one of his operators announced, "We have at least three confirmed kills general. It looks like the reports were right about the trio of Gundams combining into one thing."

Darren looked over the map when he contemplated, "It would seem that their intention is far different from what we would have guessed. We could be prepared to crush them at only a slower rate than we could have asked for."

The map operator confirmed, "It would seem they intend to reach Brussels. They will be crossing path with the range of the Testudo if it proceeds as we are to assume."

Darren confirmed, "They will continue their way towards the Testudo and be forced back. If their retreat is successful, we will be able to cut them off and destroy them once and for all."

One of the operators asked, "Shall we set a course for the first city that can cut them off then sir?"

Darren confirmed, "Adjust our course. We will be prepared to crush them and become a front against the future Gundams if it must become necessary."

One of the operators typed the order to the brigade and observed, "It looks like things might be as easy as President Falson thought. Will our numbers still be enough though sir?"

Darren answered, "They will be. And we will see the undams arriving next with the same fate."

16 hours had passed as the long trip from Ghat became the longest most of the Earth Sphere had endured since their trip from Warsaw to Rome. The soldiers were easily getting tired and stiff from the long wait but the city of their destination was soon within sight.

Roy was the first to ask when he saw the lights before him, "Alright I think I should at least get this out of my system. Is this the place?"

Mercurio agreed that the arrival was about right when he answered, "It probably is. We'll have to hear confirmation from Majewski if we're here though."

"It better be. Al' Aziziyah and Gharyan were too much of a tease."

"I can tell you this much, you really underestimate just how much bigger the actual capital is."

"What? It's not like I'd assume several million people would actually want to live in this hell pit."

After the 16-hour journey she had to go through, Donna was relieved to see the sight of a coastal city helped with the visible sea and lights from houses. "After all this work I hope we haven't gone all this way to end up in Sirte." She looked ahead to the city in front of her when she wondered what was waiting for them there from the coordinates. "Father. Please tell me that you're still alive out there. We need something to push us along other than a rallying cry."

Ermes adjusted the camera to zoom to the ocean that he saw for the first time. The moon reflected on the surface, giving it a calm and mystic effect that can't be seen on Mars. "The ocean's beautiful." He commented.

Donna took notice on Ermes's comment. "I usually saw the ocean from Rostock." She replied. "But it looks better from here."

Gawel overlooked the map system as the troops made their way towards the capital city when he announced, "Well here's some good news guys. We're finally there."

One of the soldiers overheard the evaluation asking, "You're sure we're here? I seriously need to get out and walk again."

"No doubt about it. We're near the ocean and we've got the right coordinates." Gawel confirmed.

As if to shoot down the anticipation on cue Dana pointed to several Coalition planes making their way into the city. "Looks like there's some guests waiting for us as well."

Maurycy considered the situation when he cursed at the situation. "Aw shit. There's Coalition people waiting for us here too?"

Nasir reminded him of an obvious reason for why this would happen. "I would guess that last broadcast didn't really tell everyone that it's safe to head here."

Dana tried to consider the other option they had when she realized what the Coalition could be trying to accomplish. "We'll have to see if we can get our mobile suits to a safe location then. We might end up attracting some attention."

"With all due respect sir, while we could easily just head in guns blazing and take out everything that gets between us?" Nasir asked wondering about his leader's capability.

Dana decided against the action when she reminded them of the possible trap, "We don't even know why we've been sent here. For all we know the Coalition might be waiting for our mobile suits to arrive."

"Whatever you say..." Nasir reluctantly agreed.

Gawel searched around on his map hoping to offer a hiding location. "If it's a hiding spot you're looking for the Nafusa Mountains should provide some decent cover. We'll be able to rush back there if we do encounter anything serious."

Dana announced to her soldiers, "Alright, we'll head down and get ready to enter the city. Everyone get ready to stop and we'll try to come up with a plan."

It was a significant relief for Mercurio to hear that the forces would be stopping for now. If they were going to be outside of the city range it likely meant there wasn't any forces in any other direction that would be ready to find their location.

The mobile suits landed and the pilots had met around Dana hoping to hear out her strategy. Mercurio agreed to the need for a plan hoping to hear out what they could do now. "So how do we find out what we're looking for anyway Captain?"

Dana looked out towards the nearby area of the city with only the skyline lighting up the still night sky at the beginning of this day. She turned to her crew when she explained what plan might be possible with this infiltration. "As far as our plan we should probably go in separate directions to find out where the signal came from. Once we've found it, we'll be able to search the city and find out where this new OZ is supposed to be located." She emphasized the idea, "Majewski, you and most others should stay back here and prepare to send a warning in case the Coalition shows up around here. If they do, make sure you contact us first before you think about engaging anyone."

Gawel nodded, "Will do sir. Easy enough."

"We'll need at least eight other people to head into the city with us. We'll cover the four corner areas and then report in case we see any sign of this new OZ we're supposed to be part of."

Donna listened to splitting up to find OZ. "The only clue we have is the coordinates that led us here." She commented. "That will take a long time to search."

"Which is why we split up." Ermes reminded. "Tripoli is small city compared to Berlin and Brussels but it's still necessary to save time. If there are eight people and four corners are going to be covered, the search will be have to be done this way."

"So how do we get in looking like we do?" Trenton pointed out. The obvious problem in their uniforms being a dead giveaway as Earth Sphere soldiers.

Dana made a quick improvisation as she left herself in only an undershirt explaining, "Most we can do right now is lose whatever identity tags you have. We'll just have to hope we're able to identify ourselves if we find any of Tills guys. We'll maintain communications with our two-way radios. Make sure you don't lose them. These will be our best bet to communicate for right now."

Donna nodded when she saw the sense in the idea considering what limited hints on what they're looking for would make the work difficult. He claimed to be an expert in espionage from his time on Mars but he didn't have an idea of how he would be able to narrow down the locations here. "All things considered this might be our best chance after all." She said as she nodded along with the other pilots.

Dana approved of the agreement for the plan. She finalized everything, "Good to see we're in agreement. We'll have a good number of people back here to provide support and we'll be able to get in without attracting attention."

With the plan given out to the gathering of soldiers, Donna started to shudder as she sensed some snickers among her fellow pilots. She promised herself that anyone that suggests for her to be paired up with either Mercurio and Ermes will probably have a broken camera in their Mobile Suit.

"I'm not going this time." Suchart announced as he returned to his Ursa.

After a while into the plan Dana began to notice there was some of the usual activity going on with the pilots. Hoping to stave off against the anticipation she suggested to Mercurio, "... Hey Yuy. Why don't you go with Peacecraft? You guys could probably use the catching up."

Jasenka and Trenton stepped forward volunteering quickly, "We'll be out there too sir."

Mercurio heard Dana's offer and decided quickly he would have to settle with the idea. "Sure thing. He's proven to be a reliable addition to the cause so far."

Patrick stepped forward to move away from the possible discussion to build volunteering, "If there's any room left, I'll be headed in."

Belle did the same when she added, "Same here."

Cinzia decided to bring her contribution to the effort, "I can go with Donna if that settles anything." The eight had been decided and Dana now had a team to prepare with. The infiltration could now begin although Mercurio hoped everyone would be prepared to handle the group they had been given. Teamwork was key now and it would play more critical with the possible new hope of a military force lying in wait.

Donna was thankful for Cinzia stepping in and the two competitors paired. "Sure." She replied to the offer. "We'll see where everyone will be going, and we take the area left." She looked to see the other pairs to find where they'll be heading. A radio was given to her and remembered to get some money just in case. She briefly returned to her Mobile Suit and got her wallet out of the compartment.

Ermes walked to Mercurio. "So where do you think we should start?" He asked. With the identity tags being shed, he remembered the Earth Sphere coat of arms still on the Uriel. "I see you still have the Earth Sphere emblem there." He commented. "You're going to keep it on?"

"I still believe in the Earth Sphere cause. I hope that one day we'll be able to follow commands under their banner again." Mercurio answered with the sincere hope in his voice made clear. Even with this he still had a lingering doubt that troubled him. I'll still have several crimes to answer for.

Ermes recognized Mercurio's determination for his beliefs as a trait from his aunt. "I definitely know you're my cousin if you have the determination to fight with your old colors." He laughed.

Mercurio was grateful to see he was given some slack in his belief. He managed to maintain his previous demeanor when he thanked, "Thanks Ermes." It was another minute before he was able to make his move with Dana's plan. It was a fairly short time before they completely lost the others and were now free to wander their area of the city. He gave a brief warning when they headed in the northwestern direction. "Let's see if we find anything. And be ready for Gawel's signal if anyone finds Lord Lindemann first."

Donna overheard the conversation. When thinking of flying old colors. Her father maybe the champion by starting a rebellion. She realized that it also helps with the Coalition being distracted from total victory.

Cinzia looked over the options and noticed that there was only one area left that hadn't been claimed. She turned to Donna hoping to see her ready. "Sounds like that leaves the southwestern area for us. Ready to move out on order?"

Some time had passed before the eight soldiers found their way towards the edge of the city. Dana quickly ordered, "One pair at a time. Once the first pair makes its way out wait about sixty seconds before your turn. Move out to the area you agreed to but remember not to attract any attention from the Coalition."

"That'll be easy." Trenton assured.

"We won't let you down sir." Patrick added. Dana was fortunate to have met loyal people to follow orders seeing how they were needed for an operation of this scale.

Dana and Patrick were the first to move out when she took out her radio signaling, "Majewski we're moving out now."

"Read you loud and clear Captain. Just waiting for your signal."

"You remember the signal regardless of who finds a lead on Lindemann?"

"Ready to relay as well. Just try not to blow up the city while you're at it okay?"

"I'm the one who issues the orders remember."

Ermes watched as Dana and Patrick prepared to leave first. He counted a minute with his watch patiently. Once a minute passed, he returned to his cousin. "A minute passed." He informed him. "Time to go." He signaled Gawel as well, "Yuy and Peacecraft moving now."

Mercurio kept himself prepared for as he ran forward alongside Ermes to tell him, "According to the Captain's plan we should start to diverge from one another the moment we leave the city. Jasenka and Trenton say they're taking the northeastern area and Dana and Patrick will be headed in the southeastern. We should wait for them to be a distance away and then we can start searching the northwestern area without being noticed." Mercurio had decided his direction and now it was a matter of time before Dana gave the order to move out. "We'll just have to hope that this search is worth our time now."

"Right, got ya." Ermes replied to his cousin. He looked at the civilians around them and by the looks of it they are well-fed and slightly well-off for Tripoli doubling as a port. "It's possible that the Lord we're looking for isn't out in public and have someone to scout around for him instead. Can you think of anyone that might do it for him?"

Mercurio saw his cousin's point when "Out for him..." He tried to consider everyone who might be under the employ of Lord Lindemann. Just when he learned Donna was the daughter of the Lindemann household he didn't have much of a chance to find out what sort of connections she or other family members had. There was one face he hadn't seen in some time that did come to mind however. "It's probably a long shot but there should be someone named Instructor W working for him. He'll probably look sort of shady under normal circumstances but at least he'll probably be noticeable." At least hoping the soldiers here don't have that much of a knee jerk reaction to strangers... He wondered. The worst case scenario would definitely be the Instructor already arrested or currently being questioned.

Once the other three groups had made their way out into the city streets Dana looked to Patrick in preparation. "Alright we've got another two to wait for." As soon as Trenton and Jasenka had moved Dana waited her sixty seconds. "Let's move."

Patrick looked around the city to see there were some civilians making their way through the city as though their lives were still normal. "Place is kind of moving. We might lose some of these people if we keep blending in enough."

Dana turned around to notice that there were some Coalition soldiers making their way down the street. "Just be ready for the Coalition. It looks like they getting used to the place."

Patrick looked around the area when he asked, "I take it they see us out here they'll wonder if we were just passing by?"

Dana offered, "If we're really lucky we might get recognized as Earth Sphere pilots."

"Well this is just perfect." Trying to be more optimistic Patrick asked for details, "So how do we even search for Till? Are we supposed to guess he's hoping to live the high life ever after or taking the safe route in applying as a beggar?"

Dana searched around to find a few groups of people at a few stores still open. "Probably not anything extreme. We'll try to get some sources and try to avoid starting a conversation around Coalition people."

Instructor W kept count on the number of guards in Tripoli, which saw an increase and will continue to do so. They are all on a manhunt for the Lord, or as soldiers now call him the "Madlord of Prussia" for his insane broadcast. It however did its main job of inciting rebellions as heard in radio, reporting a suppressed rebellion in Barcelona. The Lord also made a big risk of adding the coordinates to Tripoli, but the Coalition and Earth Sphere knew the location anyway by the source of the broadcast and it was more likely for allies to gather. He returned to Lord Lindemann to report on the number of guards. "Numbers increased and more are likely to head here." The Instructor informed him.

Till remained in his room knowing he would be caught as soon as he attempted to leave. "We will be able to endure this in a few more days." He commented. "Once they start to force residents to open their houses, I will say we will be doomed."

After hearing the comment, Instructor W returned to searching around the city to see any change of action by the guards and to buy some food.

Cinzia and Donna were among the last members to go on their search when it was their turn. The walk was casual at first and they managed to avoid being seen by the Coalition soldiers. Once she was sure the soldiers were past their range of hearing Cinzia began to ask for assistance. "So just to make sure is the family resemblance going to be something to go off of? I know he isn't going to rush up to you in the middle of public but it should at least give us some pointers right?"

Donna thought of the description of her father. "Family resemblance might help." She agreed. "Black hair, clean shaven, fair skinned, usually wearing a suit and a keffiyeh in some form." She described her father in the best way possible. "Actually he's Prussian so he will stick out in public like a sore thumb." She thought. "He should be accompanied by Instructor W. Description is blonde, no beard, wears shades even in the dark and Berber I think." Describing them was a start.

Instructor W walked around the city, keeping a sharp eye on Coalition and Earth Sphere soldiers in the city. Coalition soldiers arrived yesterday to reinforce the occupation, making an escape difficult to pull off. Civilians live trying their best to ignore the soldiers as possible unless ordered. The earliest to respond to the broadcast should be today. He took a drink from a canteen and moved to the center of the city to begin his search.

"Well two leads isn't too bad of a deal. Just have to see if we're lucky enough." Cinzia only made a few looks across the street casually hoping to find some lead. It wasn't until a few moments after she thought she saw someone fitting at least one of Donna's description. "Think you could just give me a second?" Regardless of Donna's answer Cinzia snapped to one of the building corners to see if her guess was right. She whispered to Donna, "I think the blond guy might be here."

Donna followed to see where Cinzia was pointing. It was indeed the Instructor, still with a lab coat and the shades that covered his eyes. "That is the Instructor." She confirmed. She got out the radio to contact Gawel on the discovery. "We didn't find my father yet but we found Instructor W." She announced. "Cinzia and I will confirm now."

It was a matter of time before Dana and Patrick heard the news about Instructor W's discovery on their radio. She tried to make sure there were no Coalition soldiers watching when she heard Gawel announce, "Good new guys. Looks like Donna's search paid off."

"Did she find her dad out here?"

"Not really. They say they found someone real close to him though."

"You're sure they'll lead us to him then?"

"Good idea. See ya in a few." She hung up.

Instructor W was eating couscous from a bread when he noticed Donna initially surprising him. "Donna?" He asked her. "You got your father's broadcast?"

The Gundam pilot gave a nod while she tried to catch some air. "He said something about rebuilding OZ if he's serious." She replied.

The news of OZ isn't pleasant for the instructor, but knew he couldn't do anything to prevent what was currently in play. "He is unfortunately. The other pilots must be here in the city too. I'll take you two to your father's hiding place while I search for the rest. Having you search with me will be dangerous." He guided the pair to a quiet house in an isolated alley.

"Actually we can try to contact them with our radio." Donna said, holding the radio.

The Instructor was mildly surprised by the resourcefulness. "That will make things easier then." He replied. "If you can tell everyone to meet here, I'll wait outside and let them in if they mention you."

"Got it." Donna nodded. She opened the door and entered the house.

Ermes received Gawel's update and turned to Mercurio to inform him. "Ms. Sandesgeist found someone. We need to head to where they were searching and find Instructor W guarding a house." He informed. "We better get going then."

"We were fortunate." Mercurio commented to himself. The patrols weren't going to let up at any point but he at least had a lead for where to go. Now they had to meet before the Coalition had spotted anyone or their cover was somehow blown. "I'll let you know if I see the Instructor." He assured as they left for the location.

Time passed before Mercurio noticed Instructor W waiting outside. He pointed to his cousin, "There he is."

Dana met up with Trenton and Jasenka when they met back on the street Instructor W was reported to be on. "So, we've got a lead. Looks like we should be able to find out where Till is hiding if we find out where they headed."

Trenton hoped for the best when he asked, "Well Donna managed to do her part. Are we somehow going to get some reinforcements for a future attack?"

Patrick reminded him, "I wouldn't hold my breath on it. If he was forced to make a hiding out here it's probably because he can't fight back right now."

Jasenka only hoped out of the situation, "Guess so. He better be more than just talk for us to come all the way out here."

Dana saw the Instructor and greeted, "Hey there. You happen to be Instructor W?"

It had been a while since he had met the Instructor, but Mercurio knew that he would be able to remember him after brief introductions. Both he and his cousin walked cautiously to him introducing, "Greetings... Instructor." Mercurio kept the introduction to a minimum in hopes to avoid being overheard. There was one squad just passing that didn't seem to care about the small gathering. "Donna and her partner were the ones who found you right?"

Instructor W found Mercurio speaking to him. He remembered him well to recognize him immediately. "Mercurio." He replied. "Donna is already in the house there." He pointed at the house at the edge. He noticed a new person with him also, vaguely familiar in a way. "And you are?"

"Ermes Peacecraft." He introduced. "I'm an emissary from Mars."

After they briefly shook hands, the two were guided to the house. Instructor soon met another group that approached him. When Dana spoke, the Instructor knew that she's part of the group also. "Yes, I am Instructor W." He answered. "The house at the end of the alley is where Lord Lindemann is in. I'll stay here to keep an eye out for Earth Sphere and Coalition guards." He guided them to the house and unlocked the door for them to enter. According to Donna, that was everyone who made their way into the city.

Till Lindemann counted the numbers as according to his daughter, eight should be there. Once he confirmed the number, he began to speak. "Hello I'm Lord Lindemann, the leader of the Earth Sphere OZ faction." He introduced to them. "If you're here means that you got my message on declaring a rebellion against the Coalition.

As you all know, the Coalition thinks they won the war with most government officials held at gunpoint. They failed to notice that the Earth Sphere won't bow to them easy with the new OZ. Although the Falson family are supposedly the successors of Romefeller, they are only the successors in the worst of the Foundation. I already incited rebellions in Western Europe and North America to stall their complete victory in the war." He moved on to tell them, "That is where you come in. If the Falsons are to be thrown out of power, OZ will need you. If we work together, we will be able to launch an attack to retake Earth. If you decide to join, we will have a better chance at winning with the combined strength of you and forces I will attempt to bring to the battle."

There were murmurs between the pilots assembled when the purpose of the coordinates were to recruit for OZ. Ermes wasn't sure to trust the Lord although his intention to liberate the Earth Sphere is what they're after but rebuilding OZ seemed like if an effort for him to further the militaries of Earth or, by his age, was simply nostalgic for his old days. Ironically, he was repeating the Civil War in Romefeller by branching out OZ loyalists.

Donna was torn between accepting or declining. Until now, she's been piloting the Sandesgeist in her family's name and refusing to join him will be against the principle. Her father is likely to divide the Rogue Wings with his militant ideals of old. She stayed quiet for the duration of the meeting, allowing everyone else to speak.

When the proposition was made Mercurio offered his response. "How can we permit this sort of action if we are meant to be the ones to prevent war from expanding again? This action is likely to make us look like we'll consider the colonies as the enemy without any consideration for future cooperation."

The questioning among the soldiers had been brought to a stop when they heard this and Cinzia was the first to speak to him. "Yuy, please tell me you signed up knowing you were going to kill some of these Coalition crack heads."

Mercurio gave his further concern when he spoke unlike the normal soldier would. "I signed on believing this war was meant to be ended. I thought we were meant to prevent continuous conflict in support of the Earth Sphere making amends with the ones we have aggressed with. Now we're considering a chance to make the Earth Sphere cause further militarized than before? Even our initial reasons for this war seem to have been diluted."

Patrick felt the need to take Cinzia's side when he pointed out, "When the Coalition came into existence there hasn't really been a lot of enthusiasm for the Earth Sphere cause on their side."

"So, we just accept this deal and be ready to let the Earth Sphere embrace the option of militarization?" Mercurio asked displeased with the OZ sentiment.

Cinzia tried to contain her anger with the situation when she offered, "If you have another option to take our planet back, I'm open to suggestions."

Mercurio tried to reiterate his point in a simplified form when he answered, "If we respond with force again, we'll only end up supporting the old ideas of war again."

Patrick was starting to feel the same pressure when he tried to press the situation further on Mercurio. "So we have the luxury to debate this sort of thing again? You have any clue about how much we always get shorthanded on those kinds of promises? What have we even been doing for the last month or so? And that's just what I've been through."

"Even if we managed to stop this cycle of violence do you think we're going to stop another one from erupting?" Dana asked as she ended the small conversation. Not even caring about ignoring their key supporter it was a matter that had to be dealt with if there was going to be any conversation. "I think I get you Yuy. You signed up thinking you could give pacifism the leg room it had years ago. The Earth Sphere managed to cap military warfare for two decades but now we're in the middle of another war nobody on this planet wanted. Even worse, we've got the most catastrophic war in human history behind us. If we're going to see the Earth Sphere have a peaceful solution we have to discard whatever chance of a pacifist world."

Dana had a sharp mind when suspecting Till of foul intentions during a teeth-clenched alliance. He observed under his breath, "Captain Houston, I see why you are capable of leading the Gundams."

The rebuttle was hopefully enough to remind Mercurio of the situation. She didn't have time for a debate like this. I'll give you this much. Saying you don't fight for peace is one of the better calls you can make. She thought to herself.

Jasenka confirmed Dana's agreement when she observed, "I take it you're planning on agreeing to this idea Captain?"

Dana answered diplomatically as possible, "I know that it's hard to accept. But can we expect a chance to handle this whole war by ourselves?"

Trenton was just as concerned when he tried to understand the situation. "… If we can't then we really have to take up the OZ name again?"

The fear was growing among some members of the Rogue Wings and it wasn't only because of Mercurio's arguments. "It sounds like this OZ isn't controlled by one specific person. We can probably just expect them to provide a further war effort."

"So you'll take us in regardless of group answers Captain?" Jasenka asked.

Dana shook her head when she answered, "It's still the choice of everyone involved with our group."

Having to be reminded of the situation had brought Mercurio back to reality when he saw that probably his only supporters would be Jasenka and Trenton. When the Captain turned to hear what he had to say he finally agreed, "I see. If this is the only way, we can hope for realistic support then this will have to be our only option."

Not minding what anyone else said she turned back to Till answering to his proposition, "I'm willing to give this a shot Till. I hope you haven't got any plans taking advantage of this situation or you won't be any better than the Coalition to me." It was a short while before she added, "The rest of my crew will need to give their answer on this idea. This is something that will require cooperation."

Mercurio nodded in reluctant acceptance of the idea when he saw what the others had planned to follow. "Perhaps this is the only way for the war to end." He threw in his support when he answered, "I shall lend my support to this OZ as well. Mostly for my fellow pilots and a chance to liberate the capital." With the agreement the Gundams now had a simple goal in mind. They were united again under the single idea that Brussels would no longer be held under the Coalition grasp. Nathaniel Falson would not be victorious.

Ermes had many reasons not to trust the Lord but his intentions were at least believable. He couldn't help but imagine that Till was still full of ambitions if he had the desire to free Brussels. He observed a power-hungry Federov before and this man could be just as dangerous for the power he can potentially acquire.

In spite of his concerns, he agreed, "I will agree in this alliance." He responded seriously and he well-hid his sentiment on not to trust him too much in contrast to his cousin who seemed to be vocal.

This turn of events went mildly well for Donna for an alliance was made, but on uneasy terms. She knew others like Mercurio and maybe Ermes disagreeing but tolerating for the support needed. "I will agree to the alliance also." She nodded. She avoided the discussion with her divided loyalties to the Rogue Wings and her family.

Till commended to Dana's decision. He first chose to confirm some facts. "There are other groups labelling themselves as OZ according to Instructor W." He confirmed. "Although we label ourselves in one name, we are like fractured warbands and communication between each other is severely limited for the threat of being tracked down."

He offered only one request after. "I should only ask that we begin an operation to liberate Brussels as soon as possible. Immediately after we should do everything to affiliate ourselves with the Earth Sphere again."

Patrick was still worried about Mercurio's decision when he reminded, "So you want us to head back there with the crime on our heads?"

Mercurio confirmed the idea, "We will have much to answer for, but it will be better than remaining on the run for the rest of our lives. If there is going to be anyone to answer for the destruction of the Earth Sphere battalions it had to be the ones who did so."

Till responded to Mercurio's suggestion to attack Brussels. "That is what I am planning for we cannot holdout too long. With the Gundams, the odds will shift strongly in our favor. When we are close to Brussels, we will rally other warbands to join the fight and once we liberate the city, we will reaffiliate ourselves with the Earth Sphere." Till correctly guessed that Mercurio would carry the same opinion of Pacifism as his parents. He didn't allow himself to have moment to spite his beliefs however since he still remembered the value that he was presented from when he was first told of him by Franz.

Instructor W continued guarding the alley. He correctly predicted the response of the Gundam pilots and shared the same opinion with Mercurio. If Lord Lindemann's madness can be ended before it enters full-throttle, he can do it but for Donna's sake tolerated him.

"Open up your houses! We will begin a search!"

The voice was from a Coalition sergeant accompanied with his armed subordinates and it caught the Instructor's attention. Trouble is coming soon and something will have to be done about it. He dashed to the house with the Gundam pilots to warn them. "Coalition soldiers are coming!" He shouted inside as a warning. When they arrive, he will do everything to stall them.

"Well it looks like we aren't helpless after all." Patrick noted out of hope.

Cinzia only commented, "At least hoping he's got the guts to stick with us."

Patrick answered back, "Most he can hope for now is that he doesn't get the Captain's justice dealt to him. I'm guessing she probably doesn't put up with being interruptions herself." Before the conversation could continue there was one key interruption.

As soon as Instructor W came to warn them about the patrol Patrick cursed their luck, "Ah damn I knew it."

Mercurio had hoped to hear orders of a plan when he turned to Dana, "Are we getting out of here Captain?"

The warning was enough to get Dana up and ready to find the quickest way out of the house. "Looks like we're about to have guests again." She commented on their situation. She turned to Lord Lindemann warning, "Hate to bust your spot your highness but if we don't get out of here we'll only be botching up this deal before we can even get started."

Trenton took a look outside trying to see who was making their way nearby when he found the inspections taking place. "We'll have a clear opening if we move out in just a few minutes. Don't know how it is on the other side."

Dana took out her radio quickly to contact Gawel on the other side while the others tried to find a way out. "Gawel. Do you see any Coalition forces prepared to sweep into the city?"

Gawel was groggily answering on the other line, "Negative Captain. We're not seeing any mobile suit activity. Looks like there's some intensive searches going on with the lights going on though."

"You guessed right. Prep some of the Ursa units and prepare for enemy contact. We'll just have to assume the worst if we're going to get out of the Coalition's hands."

"Might as well. Just get over here quick and we'll be able to find a way out of this pit."

Dana shut off the radio at that answer and quickly moved near Trenton hoping to see the opening he thought they had. Dana gave the order snapping to cover to everyone who followed her while keeping an eye on the inspecting Coalition regiments. "My signal we get out of here and head for the edge of the city. And don't attract any attention."

Mercurio saw the other side of the streets when Dana gave the order and signaled his preparation. "We're ready sir."

Patrick was hopeful for a better situation but knew the outcome at this point. "Knowing our luck we're probably going to snap a few of those necks out there."

Heero and the others were prepared for the trial when he saw the position plan quickly laid out. "We've had our positions determined Major."

He agreed to the plan, "We'll only have one shot at getting this right. It's all we have but we have a duty to fulfill."

As the trial was soon to begin, Nathaniel observed to himself, "It is soon time. I shall see how much resolve you have placed into your threat now Nathan."

Early into the morning at the Parliamentary Building in Brussles Nathaniel had called Rayen Vasquez and Edward Blare to the main room to oversee preparations for the trial that was only hours away. Earlier they were introduced with a third General, General Hui Kung, prepared to oversee the security operations of the city the Coalition had occupied. The meeting had continued from the introductions as Nathaniel sought to see what should be done with the new war effort.

"Very well, how shall we handle the situation with this resurgent OZ that hopes to reclaim its place in the twilight of this war?" Hui began the topic.

"This shall be a long and tiresome war for many of us. We have forces being sent to Libya and we shall begin overlooking the most probable areas the Earth Sphere's OZ is situated." Nathaniel answered this in a weary tone. The war may have ended but his responsibilities as a leader were going to demand answers of this level for a great long while.

Rayen pointed to various areas of the Earth map pointing out the possible strike zones. "As we have determined most of their members constitute of cities and areas here in Western Europe and along the Atlantic Coast of North America."

Edward asked his President for clarification, "If that is our only option then we shall only consider these fragments as mere splinters of an old order praying for relevance. Shall we indulge them in what they seek by answering?"

Nathaniel reminded them of the situation they would face against a new OZ. "OZ was the organization that almost brought the Eve Wars to a catastrophic end. If we permit this one to survive regardless of their size, they will only prove to be a threat further down the line to the peace the colonies shall offer."

"We obey your orders Mr. President. We are still in favor of seeing the Earth saved from these monsters." Hui assured his leader.

Nathaniel briefly thanked, "Your loyalty is greatly appreciated." before turning to the other Generals to move onto the most critical subject at hand. "I must know that we are prepared for the future meeting with the Colonial Representatives once they arrive to claim their stake of this planet."

Edward looked at his statistics sheet to read the results while placing markers on the holographic Earth map. "We have assembled our forces to their promised numbers Mr. President." When the focus was on the area of Brussels, he explained the upcoming occupation. "Currently we can expect our occupying mobile suit forces to increase to 800 total and with a military force of 100,000 prepared to oversee this capital transition to the control of the Coalition."

Nathaniel responded to the military plans, "We have made the proper steps forward in this dissolution. After tomorrow the Earth will be subject to that of the Colonies." He placed his hand on the folders he had before him and assured, "With this evidence the truth will get out on Kecker's true intentions. The hope of a united Earth will be shattered to see what such political monstrosities are had in such situations."

Edward maintained a neutral tone when he tried to understand the nature of the situation. "And I assume this is when you will take control Mr. President? Being the leader of this Coalition and righting vengeance against the Earth Sphere is a waiting opportunity." If he wanted to maintain a sense of loyalty to his President he couldn't allow any of his personal ambition to show.

"That is based on the idea that I wish to see the colonies bend to me as well. No. This is a transitional point in history gentlemen."

Hui was curious with the choice of words, "A transition?"

Nathaniel gave the explanation of his hopes as though he were declaring his last wishes to his plane of existence. "The Coalition has fulfilled its purpose in saving humanity from being destroyed by the delusions of President Kecker. It is our place to serve the people of the colonies and see their rightful reward is given for sacrificing so much in the name of our security."

Edward was the least impressed of the three but managed to congratulate, "Noble Mr. President. We can all pray that it is what comes to pass in the end."

The order to return to the Colonies disappointed Tano, for it meant his mission failed. He hid his shame in front of everyone and gave a reply. "Yes Admiral. I will prepare to return to the colonies." He answered. Packing up won't be a problem for he lost everything anyway. He just has to wait for his shuttle to take him back arrive.

Norma accepted Tano making his way to the shuttle bay when he walked out. She was left to comment on his leave, "Well he certainly doesn't seem as determined as expected."

Cao was curious about her superior's statement but had to be within right to speak. "Permission to speak freely Admiral?"

Norma stood up when she announced to the ship's Captain, "I could use a walk. Let me know about any developments that make their way up here Captain."

"Yes sir."

Norma and Cao were leaving the bridge room while Norma took a folder arranging paperwork Cao was unfamiliar with. She took her opportunity to ask when the conversation began. "Is this not the first Lieutenant Kiprotich endured something of this caliber?"

"It certainly isn't. If you ever saw his previous portfolio you would probably understand what he went through at L5 when the war started."

Why would she point this out? We're not supposed to pick favorites among soldiers regardless of their history... Cao managed to suppress these thoughts when she tried to be more diplomatic to the Admiral. "Is that an important thing to consider?"

"I used to think the Earth Sphere was a legitimate cause at one point. I even wondered if the previous administration might have exaggerated the claims. Now I know there's people in the Earth Sphere government who wanted to bring humanity back to war." Before the discussion on Tano's right to anger was continued Norma handed Cao an open folder with a keycard to in front of the papers. "Give this to him."

Cao knew the card the moment she read the model number. Now she felt the need to be inquisitive. "Admiral. The pass to the Anaconda?"

"He has determination. He has an honest contribution to this cause that only a few can boast carrying. If he wants this war to end when he strikes the hammer down, let's see how he does."

Cao lost whatever question she had on the matter in that explanation. Perhaps Tano had was the one meant to destroy the Gundams. She took the folder and saluted, "Understood Admiral." Before she went to catch up with Tano.

It was a matter of time before Cao found Tano again at the elevator preparing to make his way to the lower levels. She announced before his entrance, "Lieutenant. Admiral Miles would like me to present you with further orders in regards to your division." When she handed the folder it had the status of Brussels being watched over for the new summit. Obviously with the key item before him. "It seems they may be headed down to Earth to prepare for a summit with the Colonial Representatives. The President requires maximum security from the top personnel."

Tano's attention was caught by Cao and left the elevator doors before he selected a floor. He took a quick read at the details of the summit in Brussel with high profile Coalition personnel and paused at the equipment, examining the keycard to the Anaconda. He is given one of the Coalition's best, if not the best for his new duty with Sagittarius units as part of his new squad. He smiled. "Please tell the Admiral I will not let the Coalition down." He commented on the mission.

Cao saluted back before Tano left to the lower levels of the battleship. "Thank you Lieutenant. Please give them justice."

With the keycard given, he took the elevator to where the Anaconda is kept. With a swipe of the card at the electronic lock of the door, he was allowed in. He examined the Gundam near the completion of repair on the cockpit and close to it was the original chair slashed by Uriel's buster-sword with bloodstains still on. He read the report that the Anaconda is supposedly a close-combat Mobile Suit reminiscent of the Nataku that was prominent in the Eve Wars and Mariemeia Rebellion. This would be his new Mobile Suit. "And this will be the beginning of my redemption in the eyes of everyone who I have failed." Tano vowed to himself.

Upon an island shore, the damaged Tallgeese Authority set itself down and searched for any onlooking mobile suits that might have tried to attack her. Zelma checked her panel when she made a hail with her familiar contact. "Devine. The Gundams have proven to be more resourceful than anticipated."

Barra's voice offered no sign of surprise when he commented, "I do hope you haven't hesitated as warned Agent."

Zelma hesitated when she answered, "I was careless. I should have been ready to expect more from them."

"I shall see that you are given the required addition as required for such situation Agent."

"Prepare the exoskeleton. I will see they have been dealt with this time."
