Chapter 57
Teddy's P.O.V:
Just as I came down the stairs from putting Noah down for his afternoon nap, Arizona comes barging through the front door, tears streaming down her face.
"How the fuck can you even ask me that," Arizona shouts, storming past me.
"It was just a question," Callie states, coming in behind her.
"Yeah, a fucking question that should've never been asked in the first place," Arizona shot back. Looking between both women, I couldn't help but stand there, a confusing look flashing across my face. Clearly, something happened while they were gone because this a complete change of tone from when they left this morning. They seemed more chipper and happy, but now this was a completely different side.
"I was just asking, Arizona, You would have done the same if the roles were switched around,"
I knew that if I didn't step in soon, they were going to wake Noah up after I just put him down.
"Okay, both of you shut up!" I say, sternly. When I finally got both of their attention, I looked at Callie, then back at Arizona, "What the hell is going on?"
"Callie here is questioning whether Noah is hers or not," she says.
"What?" I ask, turning my attention to Callie, "Why?"
"Because, apparently my wife lied to me, and actually got around in high school."
"Okay, wherein the hell did you hear that?" I ask her.
"Lauren Boswell, today, at the Drs. Office,"
"What?" I ask, confusingly, "Who the hell..ohhh.." I stop mid-sentence, when the name finally registered, "The BITCH!"
"Oh, so you know her too? Because apparently, Arizona did too, all too well. She was at the party the other day, with Mark," Callie says.
"Yeah, I know her," I say, "that girl got around, especially after Arizona dumped her,"
"So, Arizona did date her then?"
"For like a week, but they broke up because Arizona wasn't into her, and she wanted to keep her focus,"
"See," Arizona snaps.
"So, that's what this is about? Lauren?" I ask. I was still a little confused about why they were arguing over Lauren.
"Not just that, Lauren had brought up and said that Arizona got around in high school and that the Captain of the basketball team had told everyone that Arizona wasn't afraid to put out,"
"You actually believed that?" I asked her, in disbelief. Callie just shook her head.
"Yeah apparently she does," Arizona stepped in, "Because she's now questioning whether Noah is her's or not." My mouth nearly dropped to the floor.
"Callie..are you serious? why would you do that?" I ask her, still in disbelief, "There's no doubt in my mind that, that little boy is yours. He looks so much like you."
"Wouldn't you question it too if were you me and you were just finding out all this? I mean hell, was she even really gay in college? She could have easily slept with some guy while she was in college,"
"That's enough, Callie," I snapped, "I would never believe what I hear, especially not when it comes to Arizona, not in a million years. Just because you hear something, doesn't make it true," I tell her, shaking my head, "Lauren is a bitch. Always has been and always will be. A lot of the rumors that went around school always came from her. She had a huge crush on Arizona and tried so hard to get into her pants, but was always shot down. The only reason why she had said that stuff back then, was because she was pissed that she got dumped, especially by someone who was younger than her."
"See, I told you," Arizona scoffed out.
"Arizona, hush," I say, "Why don't you go up and check on Noah. He's probably awake up there now since you both came barging in, screaming at each other."
"Whatever!" She says, rolling her eyes at me. She stormed up the stairs, leaving Callie and me in the living room to finish talking. Once I knew she was out of earshot, I walked up to her and put my hand on her shoulder.
"Let's sit down," I tell her, grabbing her wrist, pulling her to the couch, "Sit," After we sat down, I placed my hand on her leg. Letting out a sigh, I finally spoke, "Callie, I know that you never knew Arizona in high school and that she never you about her past relationships. That's because she barely has any. She's only had two. Lauren and Joanne, the captain of the basketball team. She and Joanne only went out once, that was it. She never slept with anyone, ever. Her main focus was on school and getting into college. Relationships were the last thing on her mind. Until she met you. You weren't just some girl in the bar, you're much more than that. You became her everything. You and Noah both. You were her first and will always be that way."
"I'm sorry, Teddy," she says, wiping away a tear.
"Don't tell me, tell your wife upstairs. The way she came in here, you broke that woman's heart with your accusations. But what I think got her the most was when you questioned about Noah being yours. So I'm going to go so you two can talk this out."
I Stood up from the couch and made my way to the door, "Talk to her," I say, then walked out the door.
Callie's P.O.V:
After Teddy left, I went upstairs to find my wife. When I walked into Noah's room, Arizona was sitting in the chair, with her eyes closed, slowly rocking a sleepy Noah. Walking up to her, I place my hand on her shoulder.
"Arizona.." I say in a low whisper. All I get is a long frustrating sigh in return. "Arizona," I whisper again, kneeling down beside her. This time she opened her eyes, then turns to look at me.
"What do you want, Callie?" she snaps.
"Can we talk?" I ask.
"I'm a little busy," she says, snapping once more.
"Please?" my voice coming out as a plea.
"Fine, let's talk," She says standing up from her spot in the chair. She walked over and placed Noah back into his crib. After turning on the mobile, she walked past me and exited the room. Letting out a sigh, I followed her out and into our bedroom.
"Okay, you said you wanted to talk," she says, folding her arms across her chest.
"I'm really sorry about earlier," I start, "I just.."
"Just what? Just thought I was just some slut in high school? That I made my way around the whole girl's basketball team? After I've told you I was a fucking virgin, Callie."
"I know, Arizona and I'm sorry."
"You're sorry? You're sorry that you couldn't trust me enough to take my word about you being my first? or maybe needing assurance from my sister-in-law? I'm not pissed about that, I'm pissed that you questioned about Noah being yours. Because that fucking hurt and pissed me off a hella of lot worse. What's next Callie, are you going to question this next one?" She asks, pointing to her stomach.
"What, no. I wouldn't do that," I tell her.
"Oh really? You did with Noah, why not this one too?"
"Arizona, please. I'm sorry," I plead with her again, "and can you calm down, you're going to stress yourself out. I don't want that,"
"You should have that about that before you made accusations, Callie." She says, her voice cracking, "How could you do that? How could you question that sweet little boy across the hall? You should know he's yours. He looks so much like you. He's got most of your features, Callie. I mean, look at his hair, it's starting to get a little darker now too,"
"I-I know, I'm sorry, babe," I say, stepping closer to her. As I pull her into a hug, she buries her face into my chest and just sobs, "I'm so, so sorry,"
*So Drs. Appointment didn't go the way they planned. That Lauren Boswell is something else huh? Now we know who Marks date was to the party.*
