Chapter 46: Sayonara Motherf*cker
Sakura shot at Sasuke, which hit him squarely in the gut. And though he was wearing his bullet proof vest inside his dress shirt, that did not stop the blinding pain he felt which was similar to being hit at the stomach with a demolition hammer.
"God fucking dammit, Sakura! What are you doing?!" He wheezed.
"You think I don't remember?! That's for kidnapping me and taking me here!" Sakura screamed at him.
When Sasuke heard what she said, he couldn't help but sigh in defeat because she was right. He deserved to be shot at. And though the bullet merely grazed him at the left shoulder when the second shot was fired, Sasuke no longer flinched as he allowed Sakura to bring out the anger she was feeling.
"And that's for letting me suffer this much!"
Tears were free flowing from Sakura's eyes when Sasuke looked at her. At first he couldn't move. He knew he had no right to console her after what he did to her. But he still built the resolve to go near her and it didn't matter to him whether Sakura would continue shooting at him or not.
"Go on." He urged her. "Empty that magazine on me. Shoot at me if it makes you feel any better. Hell, just shoot me already!" He provoked her. "I don't care anymore, but I'll still make sure that you get out of here alive. It's the least I could do for what I did to you."
Sakura realized that Sasuke was wearing a bullet proof vest and so she did what she was told. She emptied the magazine on him and watched as the few remaining bullets hit him at his body's vital spots. She oh so wanted to just end everything and shoot at his skull but she just couldn't force herself to do it! And when there were no bullets left, Sakura threw the gun at him with all her might which Sasuke easily caught despite grunting in pain with one knee on the floor to keep him from completely falling over.
"And that...that's for saving me. For that time when I was almost raped, and for this time when I thought I was going to die." Sakura sobbed.
"I'm sorry." He whispered. "I really am." It took Sasuke all his might and strength to stand up and to get to where Sakura was standing. Being shot multiple times at a relatively close range was indeed a punishment he deserved. Heck, dying with one of the bullets Sakura shot him with would be the easy way out but he reminded himself that this was his fault and that he deserved far worse.
When he reached her, Sakura no longer put up a fight and instead continued to sob on his chest as Sasuke embraced her.
"How could you do this to me, Sasuke? How?!" She sobbed. "I—I know you have your reasons. So, give me one thing…I just need one thing…one thing to keep me sane. One thing to make me believe that this was all for something, that I didn't suffer for nothing."
Sasuke gripped her shoulders as he willed himself to look her in the eyes.
"Everything…everything is just so difficult to explain right now, Sakura, but the one thing I can tell you now is that, I did everything for my brother. I thought I made the right choice. But I was clearly mistaken. I'm sorry. And Itachi, he's here right now. He's at the basement. I need to get to him fast."
When Sakura heard what Sasuke said, the hatred she was originally feeling seemed to dissipate even just a little. Yes, she was still very angry with Sasuke, frustrated even, but she knew how important Itachi was to him. She knew how much Sasuke cared for his brother. Itachi too, had a special place in her heart. Growing up as an only child, Itachi was like the older brother she never had.
"I hate you." Sakura gritted through her teeth, "but I believe you."
Sasuke nodded and uttered a whisper of thanks, then another series of explosions took place which reminded him of the danger they were in. He then secured his coat around Sakura and gave her back the gun she threw at him. Sakura was fast to grab it and replace the empty magazine. Unfortunately, because of all the drama that took place, they failed to notice that the elevator where Sakura and Kabuto had just been in, had begun moving again. They had only been alerted when the elevator pinged which completely startled them as they realized that they had really nowhere to hide in that vast and exposed parking space.
That's when Sasuke did what he thought was the most logical thing to do. And that was to pull Sakura behind him and shoot one bullet at the elevator just in time when the panel doors opened.
He hoped that the bullet would go through and hit whoever it was in it. He hoped that it was enough to startle the enemies if there were a few of them inside. However, Sasuke did not expect that his bullet would be squarely met by another bullet as the elevator doors fully opened, and a man wearing a wolf's mane got off.
The man casually stepped over Kabuto's dead body as he raised his gun and pointed it at him. Sasuke wasn't aware of anyone wearing a mask. For the last half hour, his team had gone radio silent. There had been no reports and feedbacks, so he had not been informed of anyone who was wearing a wolf's mask. Hence, there was nothing he could do but to assume the worst as he raised his gun to him as well.
Sasuke was about to shoot at the newcomer when Sakura suddenly shouted 'stop' and got out from behind him, only to run towards the man in the wolf's headdress.
He tried to pull Sakura back but a bullet was suddenly shot at his direction.
'Shit.' He hissed. He was slowly getting fed up of being shot at.
Sakura was in panic when Sasuke suddenly shoved her behind him. If there were really enemies inside the elevator, then they were definitely doomed because they had nowhere to hide. She also had no idea how much ammo they had left.
So, it startled her when Sasuke shot at the elevator panels even when they have yet to fully open, but she was more startled when his bullet was met by another midair as a man stepped out of the lift and revealed himself to be someone who was wearing life-like wolf's mask.
Sakura knew that Sasuke was prepared to empty his magazine on the new comer but she knew better. Because she knew the man—she knew his built, she knew his form, and she knew him even when his face and hair were concealed. That's why, even before Sasuke pulled his trigger, she yelled stop and dashed right past him and onto the man.
Sakura felt Sasuke make a move to pull her back but was stopped when the man in the wolf's mask shot at him and intentionally missed. But she didn't stop running forward until she slammed into the man's body and held onto him tight.
She felt him lower his gun as he held her, and he held her tight. And as though they had all the time in the world, Sakura allowed herself to look up to him—but she didn't want to see those glassy wolf eyes—she wanted to see him. And so, she reached for his face as the man allowed her to slip his mask off of him 'til it revealed his beautifully handsome face and silver hair.
"Kakashi." She sobbed.
"It's okay. You're okay. I'm here." He said.
Sakura couldn't believe it. She couldn't believe that Kakashi was actually there in her arms. She briefly wondered if maybe it was all but a dream, but the way Kakashi held her and whispered loving, calming words to her—it kept her grounded as she held on to the fact that everything was real.
"H-how did you find me?" She asked, confused as her vision began to focus and she remembered where they were and what was happening.
Kakashi had just gotten out of the elevator wearing a wolf's mane with all the gunshots and explosions happening around them yet he seemed unperturbed. He was even armed and the dead bodies didn't seem to bother him. In fact, she had never seen him more dangerous than he was now and she wondered again if she was still under the influence of the hallucinogenic drug which Kabuto had administered to her a few hours before.
Have I gone crazy? She wondered, when all of a sudden, Kakashi raised his weapon once more and pointed at the direction of where Sasuke was standing.
'Oh god, Sasuke!'
Sakura swiftly turned to look at him and saw that he too had his gun raised and pointed at them, more specifically, at Kakashi.
"Stop! Stop! Sasuke, put your gun down, please." She yelled as she tried her best to pacify Kakashi.
"I will if he will." Sasuke answered as he remained at his position despite the several explosions happening below and above them.
"Kakashi, please. Stop this. Sasuke saved me." She begged.
"Well, you wouldn't be here in the first place if not for him" Kakashi grimly answered as he held her firmly beside him while he cocked his gun at Sasuke, ready to shoot.
"He has his reasons. He was just trying to save his brother. Kakashi, please. He's here. Itachi's here. We also need to save him." She begged again, and as though the heavens heard her plea, Kakashi brought his gun down, and so did Sasuke.
But then Kakashi spoke, and his words were directed to the man who was standing across them.
"Don't even think that you're forgiven because of this, Sasuke. And don't ever think that you can get away with this." He threatened.
"I'm not looking to be forgiven, Kakashi. And I'm not going anywhere. But please, let me save my brother. I will face whatever consequences that will come after." He pleaded.
Sakura didn't understand what was happening, and she was getting confused by the second. But one thing was for sure, they had to rescue Itachi and get out of that building.
Kakashi studied Sasuke with hawk-like eyes and mentally assessed the weapons he was carrying. Aside from the gun he was holding and the spare on his waist, he had no more.
The building was once more rattled by a series of explosions from above and below when his earpiece crackled to life and Sai's voice took over. He also noticed Sasuke's movement mimic his as though he also received a report.
[Kakashi, we've got a bit of a problem. The elevators are down and we're struggling to take control of The Glimpse. You have to take the stairs before the enemies blow all means of exit.]
As Sai gave his report, another explosion rattled from above which threatened the ceilings to collapse. Debris began to fall overhead which made Sakura shriek as she reflexively covered her head.
Kakashi grabbed her closer to him as he covered her head with the wolf's mane.
"Kakashi, there!" Sasuke pointed upon successfully locating the stairs leading to the fire exit.
However, even before Sasuke could reach for the exit, the elevator and the exit door bursted open and in came Orochimaru's men. It was only for a split second that Sasuke, Kakashi, and Sakura were able to hide themselves between the pillar foundations of the 21st floor before their enemies opened fire.
"Shit." Kakashi sneered because of the sudden turn of events. If they don't get to escape now, all of them may die either of being shot to death or the ceiling and the foundations of the building might collapse on them.
He needed to think of an escape plan, and he needed to think fast.
"Kakashi, what are we going to do?" Sakura asked, sounding determined, but she still cowered every time for every bullet that was received by the pillar that they were hiding behind in.
He had returned fire for a few times and saw Sasuke do the same but even when their bullets don't miss, they were steadily losing more of it while their enemies just kept on reloading theirs. That's when Kakashi decided on what he had to do.
"Sakura, I need you to stay here for a while and hide."
"Why? Where are you going?!" Sakura asked, alarmed.
"I'm going to get us out of here." He said firmly.
Kakashi willed for Sasuke to look at him despite knowing the difficulty of having bullets rain down on both of them. But when Sasuke turned to look, it was as though a silent understanding had passed between them and now, Sasuke was merely waiting for his signal.
Kakashi turned to Sakura.
"Sakura, you have your gun with you, correct? Use it and cover for Sasuke."
"W-wha? Wait!"
"Just aim and shoot, my love. Show them what you've got." He winked and kissed her forehead before turning to look at Sasuke and gave his signal.
Everything seemed to happen in slow motion in Sakura's eyes even when it happened all so fast.
She watched as Kakashi left her side and went straight to one of the nearest cars while Sasuke left the safety of his pillar and ran right at her hiding place. She was only able to grasp the gravity of their situation when Sasuke almost went to a sudden crouch in the middle of the parking lot. Sakura watched as Sasuke almost got hit by the rain of bullets that ran past him and towards Kakashi's direction. That's when she felt her blood swiftly rush to her ears and she opened fire.
Kakashi couldn't hide his pleasure as she watched Sakura take down Orochimaru's men, one sure hit at a time. The sound of her gun and every body that dropped on the cold concrete floor made his smile wider as though subjecting him in an unusual kind of high. Unfortunately, even when the urge was strong to just stand back and watch his beloved, he had to get them all out of here—and fast.
Without any second thoughts, Kakashi shot at the car's driver side window until it broke which allowed him to swiftly open the car door and get inside the driver's seat. He swiftly went into carjacking mode as his nimble fingers sought for the wires beneath the steering wheel. With skill and precision, and a few sparks with the smell of burnt copper wafting in the air, the engine went to life in a matter of seconds and he made it roar as he stirred the car directly towards their enemies only briefly stopping to get Sasuke and Sakura in the confines of their carjacked vehicle.
Sasuke secured Sakura in the passenger's seat while he made a jump at the back as the bullets began to rain on their car.
Kakashi was quick to stir the car's steering wheel with one hand while he made sure to cover Sakura's head with the other in order to make sure that she had it hidden, knowing fully well how trigger happy she had become.
He didn't slow down and stepped on the accelerator even if it meant running over their enemies. The sound of the squelch of their insides and the feel of their bones getting crushed under the tires reminded him of a squished tomato turned relish as he dragged the remains of his enemies towards the car exit and down the flight of floors, successfully making their escape.
He heard Sasuke sigh from the back as he also allowed Sakura to take a more comfortable position in her seat.
"I think I'm going to puke." Sakura suddenly blurted, but even before anyone could sigh a chuckle of relief, all three of them heard a distinct rumble in the air which prompted Kakashi to look at his rearview mirror while Sasuke looked behind him.
Just as the enemy cars came into view, Sasuke shouted 'duck!' as another wave of bullets showered upon them, completely shattering the rear window of their car.
Sakura screamed as she desperately sought refuge in that tiny hollow space beneath the car's compartment while Kakashi made use of every curve in that spiral exit as an opportunity to create a greater distance between them and the enemy cars. Sasuke, on the other hand, kept swearing at the back seat because of their lack of ammunition.
"Faster!" Sasuke shouted at Kakashi as he saw another bullet pierce through the windshield.
"Goddammit! Hold on!" Kakashi gritted as he no longer took caution for every curve they veered. Only a few more twist and turns and they'd already be at the ground floor parking lot, but the enemy cars behind still posed a huge problem to them.
"Prepare to jump!" Kakashi ordered as he went on full speed down the exit, gaining a considerable amount of distance between them and their enemies.
"What?!" Sakura screeched.
And just as they reached the bottom of the spiral exit, Kakashi stomped on the brake pedal, with their car completely blocking the narrow exit towards the ground parking lot while the three of them scrambled their way out and sought for cover as the first of the enemy car disastrously crashed onto theirs. The initial crash created a domino effect on the other succeeding cars which successfully eliminated most of their enemies.
The sound of the successive crashes—windows breaking and car hoods crumpling—were music to their ears, but just as they thought they escaped from the hail of bullets, some of Orochimaru's men—those who were able to escape the crash, charged through the ground parking lot which left the three of them no choice but to fight with whatever weapon they have left.
Fortunately, there were also a number of enemy casualties on the ground parking lot, and dead enemy body meant unused weapons! So, as the three of them sought for another place to hide, they made a grab for the nearest weapons they could find and hid themselves behind the stone pillars.
Sasuke went the other way while Kakashi made sure to hide Sakura somewhere safe.
"I'm pretty sure that you know how to use one of these…" Kakashi told Sakura as he handed over another fully-loaded gun towards her. Sakura's answer was merely a shocked "are-you-fucking-kidding-me" look as she stared at Kakashi's amused face. It made him give out a hearty chuckle as he secured the gun in her hands.
"I'll come back for you here. Don't go anywhere, okay?"
"I have nowhere to go, you dummy! Just…just make sure to come back for me." Sakura momentarily pouted but then she grabbed at Kakashi's tie and gave him a swift kiss on the lips. Kakashi was surprised by the unexpected show of affection amidst the chaos but he held the hand that was holding his tie and gave it a tender kiss.
"I love you." He told Sakura who gave him a weak but sweet smile in return.
"I love you. Now, get us out of here." Sakura whispered.
And as though Kakashi was given a renewed boost of energy, he stood up from behind the stone pillars and surveyed their surroundings.
There were plenty of hiding spots in the ground floor parking lot as there were still a number of cars left. He had no idea where Sasuke was hiding but he better be hiding his ass real good because there were still a few of Orochimaru's men that were left lurking around. And unlike them, their enemies were still fully armed and had a full supply of ammunition.
Kakashi tested his earpiece to see whether he could contact his team, unfortunately, all he heard was pure static when he called for Sai's name. He briefly looked at the CCTV cameras installed around and saw that there were a few of them. There had been a struggle over the control of The Glimpse during the last report so he had no idea who was manipulating the device now. He just wished that if his team weren't seeing their situation now, the same should go for their enemies.
"What's happening now?" Genma demanded as he almost broke through the door upon entering the secret lair where Sai, Gaara, and Neji had put up their equipment.
"We still can't get ahold of the device. Someone's intercepting our line." Gaara answered.
"Do we have any idea where they are now?" Yamato asked.
"They made it to the ground floor parking area before everything became completely static." Neji responded.
Naruto, who came in with Genma and Yamato, groaned in exasperation because of their dilemma.
"Can't we just blow shit up? I mean, there is something that we can do, right?" He desperately asked.
"Well, there is one thing. Two things, actually." Neji answered as he looked towards Gaara and Sai before he began furiously tapping at his keyboard.
"Is the extraction operation finished?" Sai asked out of the blue.
"Yes. We've successfully delivered him to the big boss. Now, we've got to get Kakashi out of there."
"Naruto, you like blowing things up, correct?" Sai asked as he peered over Neji's shoulder and understood what the pale-eyed boy was about to do.
"You bet I do! Just Say the word!"
"Very well…here." Sai handed Naruto what seemed like a tiny silver device with a single button at the center.
"What does this do?" Naruto curiously asked and as he was about to press the button, Sai stopped him by almost punching him in the face. Naruto froze in his spot because of Sai's sudden semi-violent reaction.
"DO NOT! I mean… do not press the button until you get Kakashi, Sakura, and Sasuke out of that building."
"Why?"
"Because it blows shit up." Gaara answered. He explained why Naruto should get to the building first before pressing the small device. He reminded him of the "weapons" they left around the building the night before and said that there were several "special explosives" that were left in that parking lot where Kakashi and the rest were in. Unfortunately, though they can detonate the explosives from where they were, they still couldn't do it because they lost sight of Kakashi and the rest. If someone mistakenly pushed the button at that very moment, the explosives will all simultaneously go off, which will cause the building to collapse and bury their friends beneath it.
"Are you sure Naruto should be doing the job? I mean he gets a little clumsy at times." Genma incredulously asked, earning him a side-eye frown from Naruto.
"I can do it! How dare you question my capabilities!" Naruto bellowed.
"Then you better get your ass over there now and get them out of there because like you, I'll also be blowing shit up. Specifically, the building's main control room." Neji said as he turned from his swivel chair and looked at Naruto.
Naruto secured the tiny device in his hand before dashing outside the room. Things were slightly getting out of hand because there was a power struggle to control The Glimpse, but Neji had his own wonderful idea.
And as the lot of them watched Naruto from the screen, dashing his way to their parking lot, Sai instructed Genma and Yamato to contact the rest of Team Sasuke and prepare to mobilize. Neji, on the other hand, counted to twenty before pressing his own key which sent the whole of the control room of Orochimaru's building burning down to flames.
"If we can't see them, then no one can." He smirked, but then Sai spoke.
"Can anybody please, for the love of all things that are holy, tell me why Naruto took the stupid ugly minivan? We have other fucking cars! Damn, that blonde idiot!"
Neji and Gaara merely looked at each other before bursting into joyous bouts of laughter.
The foundations of the building shook when the explosion came but Kakashi took such opportunity to hunt his enemies down one by one as he took advantage of their temporary shock. He also saw some of the men go down one by one on the other side and deduced that Sasuke may have also done the same.
"Well, this is a piece of cake." He muttered to himself after shooting one man straight on the forehead in front of him and stabbed another on the side. He slashed away at the man's gut with his concealed weapon when he realized that the gun he picked up only held one bullet.
He then armed himself with the weapons that were carried by the two men he just killed when another shot at him from behind but missed which gave him the opportunity return the shot—only this time, it hit the target.
One after the other, their enemies diminished as he saw Sasuke mercilessly put a hole in each of the men who blocked his way as he moved his way towards the middle of the parking lot where he was standing. It even became more difficult for their enemies to put them down once he and Sasuke shared the same radius—both of them serving as the eyes and ears of each other even without need of any communication.
Their enemies couldn't even stop them even when both of them had lost their weapons and they fought bare fisted. Everything had become a fuck fest which involved flying teeth and broken bones and he and Sasuke knew that they both enjoyed it.
"Now I get it why your tattoo looked familiar." Sasuke grunted as he kicked one man in the gut after prying a gun out of the latter's hand and using it to permanently shut the man up.
"And why is that?" Kakashi asked in return as he locked another man in a ranger's choke hold before twisting its neck, completely immobilizing the latter.
"I saw it once during one of my team's missions when we were younger. Not sure if it was you but I saw the tattoo. It was quite difficult to forget because my team failed that mission. You guys won."
"Ah, I guess you still lacked training that time?" Kakashi casually answered as he made a grab for the enemy's gun after he punched him in the face, breaking the latter's nose and piercing his skull with a close-ranged shot to ease the man's pain.
Sasuke merely huffed because of Kakashi's cocky response that it surprised him when a splatter of blood suddenly stained the sleeve of his shirt. Everything seemed to move in slow motion as Kakashi saw Sasuke look at his right biceps as droplets of blood trickled on the cold cement floor. Sasuke's blood.
Kakashi frowned because of the sudden turn of events. They only had two enemies left but one of them already had its gun pointed at Sasuke's head while another had its own gun aimed at him. He couldn't seem to find it in him to move and retaliate…
That's when he heard Sakura's screams.
"LET ME GO! LET ME GO!"
Kakashi watched as a third man, one who was so huge, dragged Sakura by the hair out from behind the pillar where he previously hid her. He also had with him a gun which Kakashi knew was the one he gave Sakura. Now, it was already pointed dangerously close to her face.
Kakashi felt as though his blood left his body when the man used the butt of the gun to hit Sakura in the cheek while he forced her to a standing position so they could both face his and Sasuke's direction.
Meanwhile, the gun that was used to hit Sakura was now pointed at him but he was too preoccupied to notice because he was busy following the trail of blood which oozed from Sakura's cheekbone down the enemy's arm who had it wrapped around her shoulders.
"Drop your weapon!" The third man ordered which snapped Kakashi back to reality. "Drop your weapon or I swear I will kill this bitch!" He huffed but then, Sakura squirmed under his grasps.
"What did you say?" Sakura grunted, annoyed, as she made eye contact with Kakashi who immediately knew what she wanted to do. Sasuke, who was also staring at the scene despite his condition also understood what was about to take place.
When Kakashi gave an imperceptible nod, both he and Sasuke watched as Sakura bit the man's forearm hard which startled the latter, causing him to reflexively pull at the trigger but also simultaneously releasing Sakura because of the pain.
Sasuke swore aloud because that stray bullet almost hit him in the leg but he was swift enough to dodge out of the way. He and Kakashi took that split-second opportunity to finish their respective enemies as they watched Sakura wrestle the gun from the man twice her size by punching him in the throat which prompted the enemy to drop the gun in order to protect his neck from further assault.
But Sakura did not stop there as she made a grab for the same gun which Kakashi previously gave her and emptied what was left of the magazine on the huge enemy in front of her.
"How dare you pull my hair!"
*BANG.*
"How dare you point a gun at my face!"
*BANG. BANG.*
"AND HOW DARE YOU CALL ME A BITCH!" She screamed as she aimed her few remaining shots at the man's face which forced the man to fall flat on his back with a dull thud because of the impact.
Sakura stood over his body and watched as his blood began to form a small puddle surrounding his form. That's when she began to retch until she allowed herself to empty the contents of her stomach on the already desecrated corpse.
"Ugh. You deserve that by the way." She said as she wiped her mouth clean with the back of her hand.
"Remind me again not to piss her off." Sasuke grunted beside Kakashi as the latter helped him to his feet.
"Uh, haven't you already?" Kakashi innocently supplied as he looked at the state of Sasuke's dress shirt full of bullet holes, which made the raven-haired man sigh in defeat while he gingerly cradled his injured arm.
Kakashi then crossed the distance to get Sakura when they heard a familiar whirring sound and realized that it came from two of the ground floor elevators which were now miraculously working.
"This is pissing me off." Sasuke grumbled under his breath while he firmly gripped at his injured arm.
"Seems like there's no room for escape." Kakashi mumbled as he shielded Sakura from the view of the elevator.
"There's more of them?!" Sakura shrieked as she tugged at Kakashi's coat, willing him to take cover behind one of the pillars again.
The three of them subconsciously moved closer towards one another, probably trying to dilute the fear of the unescapable situation they got themselves into. Assuming that the two elevators were filled with more enemies who were armed, then yes…they were probably doomed.
"I'm not trying to be pessimistic here but this is probably where we're going to die." Sasuke said which made Sakura frown at him. But her features abruptly softened when she realized that the reason why he was probably soaked in his own blood was because of her. First, because Sasuke gave her his bullet proof coat, and second was because she was probably screaming like a mad woman just a while back and it probably distracted all of them.
"You're doing a very good job at trying not be pessimistic, Sasuke, but don't you believe in miracles?" Kakashi thoughtfully commented which earned him another grunt from the man. And just as the elevator doors began to open, a minivan crashed from the narrow opening of the parking lot and a howling Naruto came to view.
"Naruto?!" Sasuke and Sakura blurted disbelievingly as they watched their friend ungracefully crash the front of the minivan to several of the cars, pushing them towards the closest elevator which effectively served as a barricade in front of it before making an epic swerve and stopping right in front of them.
"And that my friends, is what I call a blonde miracle." Kakashi deadpanned as Naruto screamed at them, probably confused on why they weren't getting their butts inside the van.
Kakashi immediately helped Sakura get in as another wave of bullets came for them from the other side.
"Faster!" Naruto frantically ordered but he noticed that Sasuke wasn't even close in getting his ass inside, and instead, was scouting for other useable weapons on their dead enemies' bodies.
"What the fuck are you doing, Sasuke?! Get your slow fucking ass inside this van right now, before I drag you inside myself!" Naruto ordered.
"Just go, Naruto. I still have some business left to finish." Sasuke answered as he ducked behind the van when a bullet ricocheted at his direction.
"If you're talking about your brother, you have nothing to worry about! He's safe! I REPEAT! HE IS SAFE! Team Kakashi just extracted him a while back! He's with Tobirama Senju!" Naruto frantically explained which might have shocked Sasuke a little bit because it rendered him immobile.
Their enemies were getting closer now and Naruto may have probably lost his patience because of the racket happening around them, so he made the minivan roar, stepped on the gas as he turned the steering wheel which made the van turn into a semi-circle, successfully hitting some of the enemies who got dangerously close before he made an abrupt stop in front of Sasuke with the passenger's side door already wide open.
"Get in, Sasuke! Goddamit!"
And just when Naruto thought that Sasuke still wouldn't move an inch, Kakashi opened his side of the door, jumped out of car, made a grab for the front of Sasuke's dress shirt and hauled his ass in, beside Naruto.
"That's what I'm talking about!" Naruto hollered in excitement as he made the minivan roar one more time. He didn't even wait for Kakashi to close his side of the door before he swerved his way right towards the narrow exit—hitting and bumping not only the surrounding cars but a lot of their armed enemies as well.
But just as Kakashi was about to slide his door to a close, he saw one of the elevator panels, the one which Naruto crashed into a while back, being pried open and he caught a glimpse of the people inside.
For a brief second of eternity and just as several of Orochimaru's men scrambled out of the way, Kakashi caught the surprised look on Orochimaru's face as their gazes locked at one another. Then, he heard his door click as it locked itself just in time when Naruto reached the exit and the minivan safely got out of the open, rain-soaked air.
"Whooooo! Yeah!" Naruto yelled.
And just as they thought that they made a successful escape, Naruto stepped on the gas, lurching them forward and said, "Sayonara, motherfuckers!" as he pressed a button from a tiny device he was holding, and a massive, ear-deafening explosion took place. It shook the ground which made them look back as they watched the whole of the building crumble into flames.
Finally, it was over.
But was it, really?
