Hey guys, here it is! I know its been a long time coming but hopefully I am getting back into the swing of writing. As always I am not a writer so please don't judge to harshly! Thank you for the continued support, it means a lot!

Carla and Peter had been back on track for the past week. After their spa day and the amazing make up sex they had things had gotten better. There was a lot to work on but they were headed in the right direction.

Peter had been seeing his therapist, the one he liked from LA from the first time for the past week, whilst Carla would stay at home with the children. He needed to get himself firmly back on the wagon for everybody's sake. They only had one more week left in LA before they had to get back to normal.

Peter was going to continue with the LA therapist on the phone for a while once back in Weatherfield but for now, face to face sessions were needed.

Carla enjoyed watching Haisley thrive in the LA lifestyle, it suited her. Theodore on the other hand was getting to be a handful in a house that wasn't designed for a six month old baby. Haisley celebrated her birthday out in LA and had a blast and was spoilt rotten.

"Carla, I have got some things from the store to make the house more Theo safe" Suzie told Carla, placing a brown bag on the counter.

"Thank you Suzie, you are a godsend" Carla replied. Theo was sitting in the highchair Peter bought for him when they knew they were staying longer. Carla was feeding him some lunch whilst Haisley was on the tablet doing some school work her teacher sent over.

"Anything to make you more comfortable" Suzie smiled "Hais, how is the work coming along?"

"It's good auntie Suzie, I am going to grow up to be clever like mummy and run my own business" Haisley answered.

"That's my girl" Peter said, as he entered the kitchen, returning from his latest session. He placed a kiss onto the top of Haisley's head.

"Daddy" she laughed, shrugging him away.

Peter made his way to Carla, placing a small and gentle kiss onto her lips. Carla smiled as he pulled away.

"Good session then?" Carla asked him.

Peter nodded "I really get along with him Carla, he really understands me"

"That is great Peter, but we do have to go home soon" she reminded him.

"I know that but he is going to do phone calls until I find someone else I really like" Peter told her.

"So you think this is a constant thing, the therapy?" Carla asked him. She was a little worried that he would need to see someone constantly, even at home.

"This is working, I haven't thought about you know what since being here and I think he is a big part of that, so maybe therapy is what I need for the foreseeable, Weatherfield meetings are not cutting it"

"Ok, we will talk about this some more when little ears aren't around" Carla said, pointing at Haisley.

Peter looked at his daughter and smiled. He nodded at Carla.

Later that evening, Carla had put the kids to bed so she was ready to join Peter. He was sat out round the pool, starting into space.

Carla approached him from behind, snaking her arms around his neck. She placed her chin on his shoulder, looking in the direction he was "anything interesting?"

"What?" Peter asked, pulling himself out of his daydream.

"Must have been a good one, you were miles away" Carla smiled at him, now joining him on a chair.

"I was just thinking about everything" Peter told her.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, just everything" Peter sighed "Things are good here Carla but when we go back to Weatherfield they may not be"

"Why wouldn't they be?"

"Not for any reason in particular but it's just going back to normal life, it worries me sometimes" Peter admitted.

"Peter, nothing is going to happen" Carla took his hand "you have just been open and honest with me about how you are feeling and that is half the battle"

"I know"

"We will be fine when we go home, as long as we keep communicating and are honest" Carla placed a kiss onto his cheek.

"How did I get so lucky?" Peter asked, pulling Carla in for a passionate kiss.

The next couple of days were family time. The family had a lot of that whilst being away. This made Peter miss Simon.

He felt bad that Simon always seemed to get the bad end of the deal and was always left behind. Although the last time Peter saw Simon he was half naked in his house with his girlfriend.

Simon was in touch regularly. Peter wanted to make sure he was ok and that he was kept in the know so he didn't worry about his dad.

Peter made sure he would repeat that Simon was not to be in the house on his own and Simon would just shut his dad down but he made sure Simon's school work was a priority.

One night Peter was putting the children to sleep whilst Carla had a girly night with Suzie.

"How are things with you two then?" Suzie asked, pouring them both another glass of wine.

Carla pulled a face at another glass before Suzie said "Stop it, Peter is on child duty tonight, you can have another glass"

Carla laughed "we are really good actually"

"That is good to hear"

"Obviously there are still some things we need to work on but the communication is back which was a big problem for us"

"What about the wedding?" Suzie asked.

"We haven't spoken about it, I think he is too scared to mention it and I haven't been able to think about it really, just because I have been busy"

"Carla, nothing is more important than your family"

"I know that, maybe we will talk about it when we get home but we have spoken about changing Haisley's last name so we can discuss it all when it's back to normality, whilst we are here I want to be in holiday mode"

"Ok" Suzie said, slightly unsure of her friends reaction "But make sure I have an invite"

"Of course you do" Carla laughed.

After a couple more wines Carla made her way up to bed. Peter was laid on it reading a book.

"I'm sorry, is this the wrong room?" Carla joked, leaning on the doorway "Is my fiance in another room?"

Peter jumped up "very funny" he slowly took steps closer to Carla as he spoke "you dare try to find another fiance"

Carla bit her lip. She turned to leave but Peter grabbed her arm, spinning her back into his arms.

"You are mine, always mine" Peter softly spoke, looking into her excited eyes. Carla bit her lip.

Peter kicked the door shut with his foot. He placed a kiss onto her lips, his hand sliding down her back, grabbing onto her arse giving it a squeeze. Carlas hands rubbed one hand through his hair as the other was placed at the bottom of his neck.

Peter took one step at a time towards the bed, not taking his lips off of Carla's.

To say that Carla and Peter's sex life was back to it's finest would be an understatement. They would take any opportunity the children weren't around. Peter would call it reconnecting but Carla knew it was just them being in love and horny.

Before anyone knew it, it was time to go home. Carla and Peter had stayed for too long and needed to get back to normality but someone wasn't happy about it.

"I don't want to go" Haisley cried, watching her mum pull a large suitcase towards the front door.

"Baby, we need to go home, you have to see all your friends and family" Carla told her, whilst crouching at her level.

Peter had Theodore in his arms, who was unaware of any changes at six months old.

"Nope" Haisley shouted. She sat on the floor with her arms crossed.

"A little help" Carla turned to Peter to ask. Peter chuckled, rolling his eyes.

"What is so funny?" Carla asked, placing her hand on her forehead.

"I have just had a vision of our life in ten years, it will be just like this" Peter told her.

"I hope not" Carla walked over to Peter "come here little man" Carla said, taking Theo from Peter "you sort her out, i'm getting in the car with our son, who loves his mum"

Peter chuckled "Carla she loves you"

"Mhmm" Carla responded as she walked out the door.

The family had said their goodbyes to Suzie earlier in the day as she had to get to work and she was definitely sad they were leaving so once was enough for her.

"Haisley, we need to go home" Peter sat next to her on the floor "we have to go and see Simon and the rest of our family"

"They can come here" She demanded.

"We have to get you back to your room and your toys" Peter tried to use but Haisley shook her head "we can go to the park lots and lots"

"Nope"

"Right, don't make me carry out, young lady" Peter warned, changing his tone. Haisley looked at him with a soft face. Her dad was never usually this harsh with her but right now he had had enough.

"Daddy"

Peter stood up "No Haisley, we need to get you home and I want you to walk like a big girl but if you won't I will carry you"

Haisley began to cry.

"Come on princess" Peter said, holding out his hand for her to take.

Haisley wiped her tears then took her fathers hand.

Once in the car, Carla turned to Peter "How did you do that?"

"I am not giving away my secrets" Peter told her with a wink.

"Dads and daughters eh?" Carla shook her head.

A part of her was angry as it's always been just her and Haisley but since Peter was in her life she has a fantastic bond with him that challenges her own. Carla knew it was natural but it did bother her slightly.

The next day the family were home and settled back in. The journey home was long and tiring with two jetlagged children. The day was Friday so Carla kept Haisley off of school so she could readjust to being home and the time difference.

Most of the family has posted on the family groups asking to see them all but they wanted the weekend to settle back into a routine as Theo needed it.

"Mummy when am I seeing Jamie?" Haisley asked, entering the kitchen with both her parents in.

Peter looked straight up at his daughter as soon as he heard Jamie mentioned.

"Next week when you go back to school baby" Carla told her as she continued to make some food for Theo in the baby mixer.

"Ok, I miss him though" Haisley told her mum.

Carla looked at Peter smiling because she knew how much this would be irritating him "that's ok baby, you can spend some time with him next week can't you"

"Can he come over?" Haisley asked sweetly.

"I will talk to his mum next week" Carla told her.

Haisley seemed happy with that answer and skipped merrily out of the kitchen.

"I don't like that Carla"

"Peter, she's 6, he is a friend, there is no need to feel any way about it"

"It's my job" Peter told her as she rolled her eyes.

"You indeed have a job Barlow" she chuckled "I will show you what it is later" she winked at him.

Peter jumped off of the stool he was sitting on making his way to Carla.

He took her by the waist, placing her in front of him.

Theo was babbling away in the high chair, picking at some finger food.

"I love you Carla Connor" Peter told her.

"I love you Peter" She placed a kiss onto his lips.

Theo then cried because he dropped his food.

"It's ok baby, I'm coming" Carla told him, placing some more food on his tray.

Peter sat back down "Oh Carla, Simon is coming this evening for diner and to stay for a few days"

"Of course, it'll be nice to see him"

"I didn't tell you but before I left for LA, I caught him here with Paige again"

"Oh no" Carla sighed "He wasn't here whilst we were away, alone was he?"

"I don't think so, I told him before I ran after you that he shouldn't be" Peter told her "so we should talk about it when he gets here"

A little while later, dinner was nearly ready and Simon had just arrived. He asked to speak to Carla alone as he had some things to say to her.

"Si, we missed you" Carla said, pulling him in for a hug.

"I missed you all too, Carla I was gutted when you ran off" Simon told her, taking a seat on the sofa.

"Si I am so sorry but you know I would have come back didn't you, whichever way me and your dad worked out" Carla told him, placing her hand on his shoulder from her seat next to him.

"I was angry at first but I did understand why, I know things are difficult with dad sometimes, he is not the easiest person to have in your life"

"But that didn't give me the right to take the kids with me, I have learnt that I have to stay and process my problems and deal with them there and then"

"Carla, I know you are a strong women and I know you have been through a lot so you don't have to explain to me but just know I am always here if you need me because I know what dad can be like sometimes"

"Thanks Si" Carla said, with a tear in her eye "I am so sorry"

"No need to be, honest! I feel like running from dad sometimes" Simon stood up "come here" he held his arms open for her to hug him. She took the opportunity, she loved the relationship they had built over the years.

"Come on, let's get back to everyone else" Carla suggested.

Who would have imagined that they would be like this, definitely not Carla that's for sure.
