Part 4

An Update: Sorry I went dark for a few months; I am just not comfortable writing a hero story at the moment. I do plan on picking this up again but for now since this a one-shot series the story will be marked as complete. Thanks for sticking with me on my warmup writing journey, you guys are awesome!

It didn't take long for the team to realize something was wrong after Tori failed to check in. There were a couple different ways they used to make sure everyone was alright and missing only one of them was upsetting but excusable, but when every single one of them went dark, that was cause for concern.

"To the weapons vault!" Adam yelled as he ran from the room they were using as a data center and towards the storage wall. The others followed and soon sound themselves helping Adam pushing a false wall out of the way to reveal the weapons vault.

The vaults itself was more tall than it was deep with two shelves pressed close together leaving just enough space to move around. There seemed to be an order to how things were laid out though it was difficult for anyone but Adam to understand it.

"You keep bug-spray in the weapon's vault?" Grant asked as he pulled a can down from his shelf.

"Because Jamie made me get rid of my tesla coil" Adam grumbled, poking through a box looking for something. Moments later he pulled out a small silver colored tube "This will do!" he said proudly before moving away from the shelf and back towards the front of the vault.

Soon the rest of the heroes had chosen their equipment and joined him. They all looked to Jamie for the final go.

"Lets do this"

And so they did.

Luckily Tori still had his back up tracker on him, it needed to be manually activated by Grant but that could be done in the car. They knew where Tori had last been so instead of waiting around for the tracker to activate, the heroes started towards the shop.

"Hey guys…" Grant said from his seat in the back. With only four of them now all the heroes could fit in one car but Jamie was driving separately in the car behind them. Always best to have two get away cars instead of one. And it also helps for when they gained back Tori, no need to shove him in the middle seat.

"What is it Grant-man?" Kari asked

"It, the tracker says Tori is still in the shop"

Adam chucked "Well that makes our job easier! We were heading there anyways!"

"Yes but" Grant said continuing to type on the computer "You would think they would have moved him. That place is not very big."

"Maybe they have a secret underground location?" Adam suggested.

The team nodded, basement were rare in California but if these people where are villainous are the heroes believed them to be, why not. As they approached the shop, weapons ready, they could only fear the worst.

Once the car pulled over in front of the shop Adam jumped out and stormed up to the door "Adam wait!" Kari called, "We need a plan" but Adam didn't listen.

The hero kicked open the door to the shop, completely ignoring that it was already unlocked and all he had done was left a shoe print on the glass, and made his presence known. "Where is he!" he yelled.

"We're in the back" came a faint voice.

Adam and the rest of the heroes rushed towards the back door and kicked that one open to.

"Oh hey guy!" Tori said from his spot on the couch "Check this out! These guys kids have made a fan film of us!"

To say the heroes were in shock was a bit of an understatement, Tori was completely unharmed, he wasn't bound, he was still in his hero costume though his tech was shoved onto the coffee table in front of him.

"Ah… you not in danger?" Adam asked slowly

"What, no!" Tori looked shocked "Oh, did I miss the check in? I have alarms on my phone to warn me when I'm supposed to do that but my phone died and I guess I lost track of time… You know how it goes"

So, when it came down to it, all was fine. Tori had been forgetful and the team had over reacted. At the end of the day everyone was fine and as an apology for leaving footprints on the doors, the heroes agreed to leave autographs for the kids who made the movies Tori was watching.

All was right in the world.
