You Should Have Said It Sooner:
"What did you seriously do to get detention back then with your pen?" Mouth looked at Kendall, whose cheeks went pink. Jackie suddenly busting up laughing as this topic was brought back up.
"Yeah, even I have to know." Brianna confessed. "The fact your pen was involved." Kendall was growing more embarrassed, although her glasses wearing friend who was busting up wasn't helping. She eyed the girl.
"I told you guys it's between my pen and me." She replied.
"Okay, but even I have to conclude that what that means is that your detention was deserving." Gunther pointed out.
"Yeah it means that you technically did graffiti." Mouth mentioned. "I just want to know exactly what it is you got caught writing."
"Ooo, Kends did you write on a desk or something?" Brianna questioned with some excitement.
"Personally I still think it was an accident knowing her and knowing it was Chicarelli giving out the detentions." Kick defended.
"Maybe, but I still want to know what happened." Brianna stated. Kendall gulped. Jackie gave her a look through her laughing fit, which Kendall eyed the girl even more, knowing she could just as easily tell Gunther some things. Which kept Jackie from saying anything.
"Seriously guys it's not that big of a deal." Jackie finally had to stop laughing to try and help, which Kendall was glad she did. She let out a small breath, hoping her cheeks weren't as scarlet anymore.
"Jackie's right." Kendall added. "I just find it pretty embarrassing and when I can finally laugh about it, then maybe I'll tell all the details." She confessed. "Until then, just know yes I did sadly do graffiti, Mrs. Chicarelli caught me and that's how I got detention." She informed.
"Although I'm sure you're happy it's not on your permanent record." Jackie giggled. "Amongst other things about that time." She muttered, which only Kendall heard being she was right next to the girl. Kendall gave her an unnoticed sharp look. Brianna pouted, folding her arms.
"Unfair." She responded. "I demand to know details at some point here." Kick rolled his eyes.
"Ignore her." He stated. "She'll live without the info until you're ready to share." He spoke. 'Oh because you're not dying to know.' She slyly thought at him, which earned her a look. Brianna chuckled at her inner comment.
"Thanks." Kendall giggled as they all shared a laugh.
"You know, I kinda am reminded, though about another graffiti incident." Gunther thought. "Or rather not incident, but you guys remember Kick's first big billboard he got back in Eighth grade?" He asked, Kendall tensing a bit, Jackie giving her a small knowing look that went unnoticed. Which she gave the girl a hard look right back, thankful the others were not paying attention.
"Oh yeah, I think I know what you're talking about." Mouth nodded.
"I know where this going." Kick commented.
"Anyway, I remember before you were going to leave that summer to tour with Billy Stumps, Wade helped us do this great stunt from that billboard right before the school year ended, and we found this glittery, pink "I heart KB" in the corner of the billboard." Gunther explained. "I always wondered who put it there because no one ever graffitied your stuff and I thought it was funny you know." Kendall just kept silent, while Jackie had to keep her giggles really silent and contained. Kendall gave the girl cold stares.
"You really don't think a fan did it?" Mouth questioned.
"I mean his fans are crazy enough." Brianna had an annoyed look.
"Hey." Kick said. "You just don't like the fact I have fans."
"No, you can have fans all you want." Brianna replied. "I just don't like the fact you can't go anywhere without being swarmed practically, or you need to have places in act policies to keep your fans in place since they don't know boundaries." She countered. "That gets really annoying, real fast." Kick wanted to retort, but kept his mouth shut.
"She has a point Kick." Gunther agreed. "I like the fans, but even I want some peace at times…" Gunther admitted.
"Yeah…" He scratched behind his head.
"Tis the life of fame." Jackie shrugged as she came in.
"Either way, though, the person who did the graffiti wasn't a fan." Kick concluded.
"Well who else could it be?" Brianna rolled her eyes.
"Could have been an admirer." Mouth tried to think.
"That's different?" Brianna had a curious look.
"In ways." Mouth shrugged. "One can be a fan of your brothers due to his stunts, but the other can, you know like him, and not his stunts."
"Somehow I feel those get crisscrossed a lot." She stared at her brother with a knowing look. He swallowed.
"Still could be a non-fan, but admirer." Mouth said.
"Nah, I don't think it was either of those." Gunther retorted. "Again, remember no one really defaces Kick's stuff so this was kinda off and weird in the first place."
"Yeah, not to mention if you didn't think to look for the graffiti you would notice it." Kick informed. "Only after the stunt did I notice it. And it's pretty small, so I'm positive no one else is noticing it." Jackie gave Kendall a small sly look, which Kendall just had to breathe. She returned the look though, before focusing back on the conversation.
"Ah…well maybe someone just did it because they did want to tag." Kendall suggested. "I mean I know people normally don't graffiti Kick's stuff, but maybe they did it that time because…uh it was clean a surface." Kendall was trying to find a reason. The others trying to think about that.
"That or maybe it was a dare." Jackie added. Kendall giving Jackie a look, which she avoided.
"Yeah a really stupid, idiotic pathetic dare." Kendall bit back.
"Oh I don't think it was stupid at all." Jackie countered. "Although I think the person who was supposed to do the dare was certainly afraid, being that it wasn't finished."
"No it was stupid, and what do you mean unfinished?" Kendall argued.
"Could have been bigger I think and maybe the person should have signed it." Jackie retorted.
"That makes it even more idiotic and stupid." Kendall stated.
"No just makes the person afraid." Jackie chuckled. Kendall gave her a look.
"Ahh…" The others got the girls' attention, which Kendall tensed, while Jackie tried to contain her laughter.
"You two know something we don't about this?" Gunther was interested. Kendall gave Jackie a look which she instantly went silent.
"We…ah we might know who…ah, graffitied…Kick's billboard…" Kendall glanced away, getting nervous about the topic. Brianna quirked an eyebrow.
"Oh, and who might that be?" She asked. Kendall gulped.
"Ah…Ronaldo…" She said, which Jackie busted up, Kendall giving the girl another look, the others unsure of what to think.
"WHAT?!" They had their own mixed reactions. Kendall placed her hand on Jackie to calm her, reminding her that she had secrets on her as well.
"Ah, yeah." Kendall started. "I….I gave Ronaldo this stupid idiotic dare back in eighth grade to write that he loved Kick on his billboard with my pink pen and well as you can see, Jackie here still finds it the funniest thing around." She gave the girl a glance.
"Okay you have to start from the beginning on this one." Brianna was cracking up laughing, wiping some tears. "How in the hell did you get Ronaldo to do that?"
"Yeah, especially since him and Kick hate each other." Mouth added.
"Well I know it started when I made a stupid bet with him that if I could beat him in something chemistry related he have to do anything I say, which sort of lead to the dare." Kendall thought about it.
"Yeah, but why dare him to do that?" Gunther questioned.
"Well this was eighth grade…" Kendall tried to think of an excuse.
"I thought you dared him to do it because besides wanting to annoy him, being that you knew he didn't like Kick, you also wanted to break up with him." Jackie tried to help, but may have gave away too much information. Kendall cheeks went red.
"Jackie!" She looked at her. Jackie avoiding the look again.
"I'm sorry what now." Brianna gawked. The others having their own shocked expressions.
"You wanted to do what back then?" Mouth asked.
"Ah, Kendall…" Gunther was surprised.
"Hun explain now." Brianna demanded. "From the beginning." She spoke. "Forget the dare, I want this whole story." Kendall let out another breath, giving another look to Jackie, before looking at the others.
"I guess it started what…" Kendall glanced at Jackie. "I told you end of seventh, maybe beginning of eighth grade." She tried to think of the time frame. "I didn't have any feelings for Ronaldo anymore. If anything I thought he was sweet. He was a good friend. But that was it." She confessed. "I didn't like him, I didn't want to date him anymore and…" She let out another breath. "I kinda just, rode out, on my end a loveless relationship." She admitted. "I mean I admit I cared about him for a bit, but since pretty much eighth grade I never liked him. I never even wanted to stay with."
"I still think you should have broken up with him sooner." Jackie told her. "You prolonged that relationship too long and were too nice to him. And you know it." She pointed. Kendall let out a small huff.
"Yeah I know." She agreed.
"So you mean to tell me, you stayed with him because you were being nice to that jerk?" Brianna was in disbelief. 'All this time…' Kick thought. 'You could have so been dating her, if you tried.' Brianna responded in her thoughts. 'Shut it Bri…' He was still in disbelief.
"I mean somewhat." Kendall replied. "I didn't want to break his heart in eighth grade because he was so nice, sweet and kind. He actually was a good person back then. Plus I was….back then things were so…" Kendall glanced away. The others stared. "At that time things may have not exactly been bad, but they were starting." She admitted. "My father was starting to get secretive with his planning with not only his business work but…" She didn't want to think about the other event he was plotting. She glanced down. Jackie looked at her, grabbing her hand. "And I just…I settled." She finally spoke. "I settled because I thought it would be easiest, and since at that time no one really liked me….I….I just… I settled for someone who I thought at least was you know kind and liked me." She continued. "Only until after everything, did my mindset change from settling to punishing myself and being with someone who I didn't like. Since I felt I deserved it." She confessed.
"Kends…that's really…messed up you know." Brianna was saddened. The boys all looked sad as well.
"Trust me, there was a lot of stuff I felt I deserved back than because of what happened." Kendall admitted.
"You know it was never your fault." Jackie said. Kendall nodded.
"Yeah, I know that now." She replied. "Just took a lot to get there though." She spoke.
"I wish I knew you never like Ronaldo Kends." Brianna commented. "Even if you felt you deserved to punish yourself, I still would have helped you to break up with him sooner. Or tried to have done something." She told her
"Oh I tried." Jackie stated. "In fact I almost got her to do it in eighth grade." She remembered.
"You did?" Gunther questioned. "What happened?"
"Yeah, and again I'm not trying to be mean about this, why didn't it happen? Ronaldo definitely could have used the heart break Kendall he would have gotten over it, believe me." Mouth was curious. "His chemistry would have mended his heart quickly." He laughed a bit at that. Brianna rolled her eyes.
"Like I said just a few reasons, I just couldn't…" Kendall thought about that very clearly.
"Actually can I ask?" Kick let out, this whole topic making him think, as he had been listening. Kendall glanced.
"Ask what?" She wondered what he might ask.
"Before, when you said that you wanted to break up with Ronaldo but didn't, why did you want to break up with him?" Kick inquired. "What made you want to break up with him?" She flushed red, Jackie having a small sly look aimed at her.
"Oh yes do tell the main reason why you wanted…" Jackie started to speak.
"Jaclyn Angela Wackerman!" Kendall gave her another look, which Jackie instantly knew she should keep quiet given that her whole name was used now.
"Why does she know everything?" Brianna had a pout. "I am calling foul and unfair play on this!" As she pointed at Jackie. Kendall gave Jackie another look.
"Trust me it's neither, foul or unfair play when there's not much to tell." Kendall said. Jackie rolled her eyes.
"So is there a reason then?" Gunther asked. Kendall let out another breath.
"I…yes." She said. "I…I might as well just tell you what happened about when Jackie tried to convince me to break up with Ronaldo and me chickening out from doing so. Because pretty much that sums up all the reasons…" Kendall glanced away. 'Although I'm not going to include all the details since a certain dare devil is in the room…' She thought. The others nodded.
(**)
I was leaning against the lockers. It was afterschool and I was dreading this. Should I do this? Should I?
"Just go and do it!" Jackie smacked my head with her book. I rubbed my head. I gave her a pout. "Don't you think you're prolonging this? You already said you don't like him. So why stay with him?" She asked me.
"But he's nice. And helpful. Really smart, plus he likes me." I emphasized the he as I looked at Jackie.
"Just because you guys argue and don't always get a long doesn't mean he doesn't like you." She countered.
"Jackie that kinda is the definition of he does not like me." I argued. "Hell I don't even think he really wants me to be his friend."
"Now you're being melodramatic." She retorted. I gave her a look. "Point is you guys are more civil than you were."
"Still doesn't mean he likes me." I said. "Hell, let's be honest here lots of people don't like me…he'll….he'll never like me, especially like that."
"Keep thinking like that and being in relationship with Ronaldo, then yeah he'll never like you." Jackie spoke. "Think positive." She encouraged. "Now go break up with that boy, we'll get ice cream after, and then if you must know I think he has an event this weekend, huge one." She winked. I rolled my eyes.
"Jackie…"
"Go." She shooed. "Now. You can do it." She pushed me in the direction of the chemistry lab. "No weekend date, no more boyfriend. You got this." I looked back at her, let out a breath before walking forward. Maybe she was right. I got this.
He was in the chemistry lab as always, working on probably a few new formulas for his science experiments. He really did love science. Sometimes I had to admit too much. Although the second I walked in, sadly I was reminded, not only was Ronaldo was sweet, Ronaldo was nice, and Ronaldo liked me. But I was reminded that he didn't. He barely saw me as friend, and more to it, we'll never be together, unless it's in my dreams. Ronaldo was the safe option. Ronaldo noticed me.
"Kendall my dear is there something you wanted?" He stopped what he was doing walking over.
"Oh…I um…" I glanced down. I came to break up with him and now I have no idea what to say.
"My dear you look slightly pale. Are you feeling well?" He ungloved his hand placing it on my forehead. "You don't feel warm, but is everything okay? Do we need to cancel our date for this weekend so you can rest? Shall I bring you some soup?" He really was sweet, caring and nice. I let out a small sigh.
"Ah, no…I'm okay Ronaldo." I spoke. "I just wanted to see how you were given that you've been so busy with your chemistry work. Wanted to make sure you were okay. Sorry if I disturbed." I made up.
"Not at all dear, glad you came to check in on me." He smiled. "And I can't wait for our date this weekend as it will be a refreshing break." I nodded.
"We'll I leave you to your work." I headed to the door. "See you later." I waved. He smiled going back to his work while I walked out. I know Jackie is going to be disappointed.
(**)
"The reason was because I…well I…there was someone who, um kinda had my interested peaked, but…I couldn't…in the end I couldn't break up with him because I knew…well it was me… and I didn't want to be mean." Kendall glanced away.
"Kinda peaked your interest?" Jackie folded her arms, her eyebrows raised. Kendall rolled her eyes, before looking at Jackie.
"Kends I admit you were a bit different back then, but I mean anyone would want to be with you, plus be your friend you know." Brianna told her after hearing the story. "I don't think you were that bad back then." She mentioned.
"So you liked someone else…" Kick concluded, as he thought about it. "Which is why you wanted to break up with him." Kendall's cheeks were burning as she couldn't really look at him.
"Do you still like this person?" Gunther inquired, knowing Kick probably wanted to know. Jackie glanced at her. Kendall did a silent swallow.
"I….I…Let's just say, being that it's been a long time, I'm….I'm willing to find new people to like." She replied, glancing away. 'Besides it's still just a feeble dream anyway…' She thought. Brianna and Kick noticed. 'She must still like him.' Kick concluded in his thoughts. 'Then give her a reason to forget them.' Brianna smirked as she glanced at her brother with that thought. He let out a few small low chuckles. "Anyway we should get back to our weight training." Kendall brought up.
"Yeah I think we have had a long enough break." Jackie giggled. Kendall gave her a small look.
"Oh yeah. Definitely." She agreed.
"Sounds good." The boys nodded. The girls went back to lifting the weights, they started at fifteen again so they could reawaken their muscles. They were able to get all the way up to forty pound before they reached their limits. Their arms feeling like jelly and their bodies completely tired, since they also added in a few other exercises as well.
"I think we should call it a day." Kick said as the girls were on the mats breathing heavy, sweaty and tired.
"Yeah, you guys did really great on your first day." Gunther complimented.
"Best we end it here though." Brianna added. "Besides throughout the week we can always continue this. But like we said there's no rush and no need to overdo it." The girls nodded.
"Okay sounds good." Jackie said as she sat up. "Although now I can go for a shower." She admitted.
"Same." Kendall laughed.
"Hey let's use the use the girls' locker room showers. They have great water pressure." Jackie suggested. Kendall nodded as they got up, the soreness already in their bodies. "We'll meet you guys out front when we're done." Jackie commented as she and Kendall headed towards the locker room. Once the girls were out of ear shot, Brianna gave a look to her brother and Gunther.
"Can you boys seriously get your minds out of the damn gutter!?" She kicked their asses this time as they fell forward, Mouth holding his stomach. Brianna shaking her head. "You perverts." She glared.
"I can only bet what they're thinking." He wiped a tear.
"You really don't want to." She cracked her knuckles, all the more irritated.
"Can you stop hitting us!?" The boys glanced back.
"Get your minds cleared and I might." She folded her arms. "You both are horrible. Honestly." She rolled her eyes. "Let's go, come on." She grabbed them by their collars, dragging them out. Mouth laughing even more.
"We can walk damnit!" They protested
"Yeah, with what you're thinking," Brianna started, still pissed and annoyed. "Straight into the girls shower room, I don't think so. We're going outside. Now, come on." The boys folded their arms as she dragged them out. Mouth just enjoying this the whole time.
(*)
Laughter echoed throughout the girl's shower room.
"Jackie that wasn't funny!" Kendall countered as the girls were washing their bodies. "I told you not to bring it up." Kendall was trying to be serious, but failing given she was red faced due to her blushing face about a few things and Jackie laughing.
"I didn't bring it up, Gunther and Mouth brought up the billboard incident. So don't blame me." Jackie defended. "You're the one who doesn't want to admit you wrote on the lockers and the billboard." She pointed. "Ronaldo did it, I cannot believe you said that! I never laughed so hard!" She snickered.
"You are just lucky they believed that damnit!" Kendall told her. "I'd die if Kick found out it was me."
"Right because him finding out you been in love with him since, what forever, and is the reason you did want to break up with Ronaldo is such a big deal?" Jackie raised an eyebrow, as she let the water wash over her body.
"He was right in the room and yes!" Kendall thought her heart might burst. "I swear if there is another incident like this, and Gunther is in the room, your dirty little secrets are coming out to, got it Jackie?" She pointed. Jackie glanced away with her own blush.
"Okay I got it, I got it." She replied. Kendall eyed her.
"You better." Kendall told her.
"Trust me I am not trying to be as embarrassed as you are." Jackie spoke, "Although eventually you're going to have to tell Kick at some point you like him or something." She smirked. "Especially since you keep having dreams about him." She giggled.
"Jackie!" Kendall squeaked, her cheeks growing redder. "Are you trying to make me die of embarrassment?!" Jackie shook her head, laughing more.
"Oh Kendall…"
