Heyy guys, here's another one. Thank you for reading and reviewing.

Vasily/Luka studied Steve and Catherine as best he could. The woman didn't concern him too much,
pretty but harmless. McGarrett, on the other hand, even sitting in a wheelchair he looked formidable.
He would now keep a discreet eye on the room to see when she left for the night. If she stays with him,
Vasily decided he'd take the man and his lady friend out. Night would be perfect. He started
formulating his plan as Catherine shut the door to Steve's room.

The reconstructive dentist arrived. Dr. Charity went to vouch for the dentist. She returned with a
beautiful strawberry blonde in tow, a blue dot on her visible hospital ID. "Dr. Fern Lionel please let me
introduce Commander Steve McGarrett, United States Navy."
"A pleasure, Dr. Lionel." Steve stood between the foot pedals of his wheelchair and offered his hand.
"My pleasure, Commander McGarrett." Dr. Lionel smiled a truly dazzling smile while cordially shaking
his hand.
Steve held his hand out toward Catherine, who joined him at his side immediately. Taking his hand, she
intertwined her fingers with is. "This is my fiancée, Catherine Rollins. Lt. Catherine Rollins."
Catherine stepped forward and shook the dentist's pale hand. "Pleased to meet you."
"Indeed, my pleasure as well." Fern said shaking Catherine's hand. "Would you mind showing me your
ring?"
"Not at all." Catherine smiled brightly as she proudly showed the dentist her engagement ring. Two 1-
carat diamond hearts wrapped around each other with a small sapphire stone between them with a
gold border with aquamarine chips down both sides of platinum bands.
"How beautifully unique. I see your man has excellent taste. Okay, I'll fix him." The dentist said
approvingly. She winked at Catherine. "Catherine, I promise to fix your man so you can have a wedding
worthy of that ring."
"Thank you." She looked at Steve lovingly. "I would appreciate it. I want his brilliant smile in our
wedding photos."
"Please, Dr. Lionel." Steve all but pleaded using his newly returned voice with his soulful lost puppy
look.
Dr. Charity smiled and when she and Catherine locked eyes, Catherine shook her head ever so slightly.
Both women knew Steve was applying the McGarrett 'charm,' rather thickly.
"Okay, let's get started." Dr. Lionel said as she sat down at Steve's small worktable. She motioned for
him to join her. She opened his file and pulled out her treatment plan.
Catherine quickly returned to the back of the wheelchair and released the brakes and started moving
before Steve sat down completely. He turned and shot her a dirty look. She kissed his forehead. "Sorry
'bout that."
Steve just shook his head and smiled. He was excited too.

It was almost the end of the work day and Danny was tired. Bone weary tired. He got up from his desk
and decided a walk to the breakroom. A drink was what he needed to get himself to the finish line of
the day.
He stretched as he walked. His shoulders were tight again. He made mental note to stop and pick up a
bottle of Rachel's favorite wine and a dozen roses. Maybe he'd score another shoulder massage. He
knew she'd do it if he asked but with their children, he knew she'd been running all day and was just as
tired as he was, just differently.
Danny decided against coffee; he already had drunk enough of that nuclear waste for the week and it
was only Tuesday. He selected a bottle of orange juice from the machine and hoped it was refrigerated:
nothing worse than warm orange juice.
The orange juice was ice cold by some miracle and that please him immensely. He said a very brief
thanks to God for the small miracle as he tore off the safety foil cap of his drink. Leaning against the
wall, he took a long drink. "Ahhhhh." Not too sweet, not too tart, completely refreshing.
"Please Lord, just a small lead. Point me in a direction." Danny prayed quietly. With that done, he
polished off his O.J. He made a pseudo jump shot with the empty bottle and hit it with nothing but the
dead center of the trashcan, nothing but air. "Yes!"
"Boss?" Danny heard Chin Ho Kelley call from the bull pen.
"Coming." He yelled and started back to his office.
Kelley ran up to him. "Boss, the door guard on Steve's room just filed his end of watch report. I think I
found Vasily Ferderchuk!
"What?! You're kiddin' me. Where?"
"At the Trauma Center, I'm pretty sure."
"You're 'pretty sure'? What the hell, Kelley?"
"The guard's report said all was quiet. Commander McGarrett went to his therapies as scheduled and
met with some specialist. A cleaning crew came in and freshened up his room; door open and he
watched them. And he reported a new LPN on the day shift. He wasn't cleared for Steve's room. The
man's name is Oleg 'Luka' Azov, six foot, approx. two hundred pounds; speaks with a Slavic accent;
medium brown hair, dark eyes, some weird tattoos. Except for the height, it could be George
Federchuk. So maybe this is his brother?"
Danny slapped Kelley hard on the shoulder. "Great and sound, logical reasoning. Let's get our team
together and get over there." The team gathered up their gear as Danny went to his office.
He dialed his home. Rachel picked up on the third ring.
"Hey Daniel. Don't tell me, let me guess: keep a plate warm for you. Right?"
"Yeah…but…"
"Oh Daniel, you promised the kids we'd go see the new 'Minions' movie.."
"Rach… Steve and probably Catherine are in grave danger. Our killer's brother is working at the
hospital…"
"Then why are you blabbing with me? Go get him, Daniel!"
"I love you!" That said, he hung up and called Trooper McTavish. Danny was drumming his fingers.
"McTavish."
"Mac. Sgt. Williams. DO NOT REACT. Treat me like a telemarketer."
"How did you get this number?!"
"The new LVN on the evening shift…he's our person of interest. Don't let him near McGarrett. Warn
Catherine, she'll handle him, if she has to you got to warn her, them."
"Look lassie, yes I'm interested in your cable bundle but this is an official line. Don't call again. I'll look it
up online." The call ended.
Danny released the breath he didn't realize he was holding. "Godspeed McTavish." He said quietly as
he grabbed his back up gun and went out to the outer office. "Are we ready to go?"
Nods all around.
"Let's go."
"Yeah, to the roof." Lou said, grabbing his gear.
Chin and Danny looked at each other in confusion. "Lou?" Danny finally managed.
"Boss, I was a S.W.A.T. leader in Chicago. I know most S.W.A.T. leaders in major metropolitan
departments. I know Billy Donovan. He offered both his team and their helicopter."
"Excellent. A two hour road trip becomes a …" Danny said, waiting for Lou to finish the sentence.
"Twenty-five minutes at the most, boss." Lou answered. "Plus, we're bringing our own back up."
"Lou, you are the gift that keeps giving. Let's go gentlemen."

Rachel was wrapping Danny's dinner plate in foil when Grace came in the kitchen hand in hand with
Charlie.
"Daddy not coming - again – is he?" Grace accused in a hurt voice. Charlie looked from his big sister to
his mother.
Rachel turned to put Danny's dinner plate in the oven and closed the oven door; glad her daughter
couldn't see her soft smile. "Gracie, darling." She put a serious face as she wiped her hands on her
apron. She turned to the children, trying not to smile. "He had to go and help 'Uncle Steve'."
The disappointed look on Grace's face faded. "Uncle Steve needs Danno? Okay, if he calls, please let
him know that I understand then."
Rachel looked incredulously at her daughter.

The helicopter took a sharp bank and Danny had a flashback to the night he went with Steve to the
trauma center. He refused to throw up then and he refused to throw up now.
"Do we know which side we're going to? They have two helipads, on opposite sides." The pilot called
back.
"He's in the front side, overlooking the street." Danny called forward; a bit embarrassed he'd forgotten
his friend's room number. "Above the cafeteria, the fourth floor."
"Okay, red pad." The pilot radioed ahead for clearance. "ETA: 9 minutes." He called back after getting
clearance from the hospital.
"Okay, get the game faces on everyone." Billy Donovan advised.
"Best we go to the fourth floor first, as visitors, so we can get a feel for the situation." Danny said.
"I'll wear a neck mike to keep you guys informed." Lou offered.
"Hey Billy, my wife had all our babies here." One of the S.W.A.T. guys yelled.
"Congrats! Focus on the op." Billy replied, clearly annoyed.
"My point was I know the layout pretty damn well. There are staircases on the east and west sides.
Suggest two breech teams."
"Oh. Good idea!" Billy recovered fast. "I got team A, east side and you take team B, west side."
"10-4."
There was no more conversation as the helicopter approached the hospital.

Doctors Charity and Lionel left Steve's room. They both nodded at McTavish, who nodded back. The
two women made their way to the elevator.
"When can you get to Commander McGarrett?" Dr. Charity asked leaning against the wall.
"Well, l will consider him a surgical consult so his case will get top priority." She pushed the elevator call
button again as she considered. "Maybe as soon as tomorrow." She said thoughtfully. "I don't think I
have any surgical consult cases so just free clinic work. He has priority, good insurance. He's too cute. I
feel bad that he has a broken smile so close to his wedding. I can't disappoint his lovely bride to be."
The elevator doors opened and Danny, Chin and Lou looked surprised to see the doctors standing there.
Danny recovered in a flash. "Ladies, Dr. Charity, I hope Steve is up for visitors."
"Hello detective. I think he's up to it and he's done for the day with therapies so I'm sure he and Miss
Catherine would enjoy some friendly company." Something in the detective's eyes told her he was
telling her to keep this chance encounter brief as possible. "Come on Fern, let's go grab an early
dinner."
"Thank you, Dr. Charity." Danny said a little too cordially. The policemen stepped aside and held the
elevator doors for the women. They waited until the elevator safely left.
As they turned to go to Steve's room, they all jumped at the sound of two quick gunshots.

"Ladies." McTavish nodded to the parting doctors. Once they were halfway to the elevator, he entered
McGarrett's room.
"Lt. Rollins, where's Commander McGarrett?" He asked urgently whispered.
Catherine was sitting at the table, reviewing Dr. Lionel's treatment plan but instantly came to her feet.
She pointed at the bathroom.
He quickly crossed the room. "The hired assassin is here."

Luka/Vasily watched the doctors leave. He took a deep breath, mentally preparing himself for his
coming assault.
"Hey Luka, want any coffee?" Melissa called on her way to the small breakroom with Karen.
"No thanks. Enjoy." He replied. He looked back to McGarrett's room. The policeman was gone.
Now was the time.

Catherine paled. "Here? Now?" She pulled her sidearm and faced the door.
"Now." He confirmed. McTavish was facing her.
The room door opened before the trooper could turn. Vasily shot, hitting the man in the back.
McTavish fell forward on Catherine, who was bringing her weapon up. She shot as McTavish fell on her.
Vasily was rushing forward as Catherine's bullet slammed into his shoulder just as Steve opened the
bathroom door.
