Chapter 77
.
Note: The mysterious women from the previous chapter, Julianna, Alex, and Britney are from the movies "Killing mommy" "Dead husbands" and "Wild things 2" respectively.
.
The Ambassador was being briefed on the recent situation by Chase Graves, this did not bode well for their people.
.
Chase: We've identified the other three women. Juliana Hansen murdered her own father, tried to kill her mother and frame her sister, all for money. Ended up executed by the state. Alex was involved in a conspiracy with other wealthy women to murder each other's husbands. She killed a man, but the plot was discovered before her husband could be killed. Even from prison she tried to hire someone to murder her husband, but the other woman was an informant. When faced with the prospect of life imprisonment, Alex hung herself in her jail cell. And Britney, involved in a fairly convoluted plot to murder her father, ended up being the last person standing, even poisoned her own mother. Apparently she got away with it, but ofcours wound up in Hell. Teri Bauer bringing them back presents, certain complications.
Ambassador: Have they been found yet?
Chase: No sir. As far as we can tell they made some sort of deal with evil, either to sabotage our efforts here in Antarctica, or to cause problems in the outside world and have our people blamed.
Ambassador: Why would they cooperate with evil?
Chase: Most likely Kim Bauer was interested in revenge, and perhaps better treatment in Hell. The other three, they were greedy to begin with. Even in Hell, they're only interested in improving their own lot. They're intelligent, manipulative, sociopaths. They're also attracive, one was even "Ms Elk Ridge." They'll use that to their advantage, we need to take precautions.
Ambassador: What exactly are you suggesting we do?
Chase: We need to be more careful about who we allow to settle in Antarctica.
Ambassador: We start sending people back to Hell, how long before we have a rebellion right here?
Chase: Agreed. There's little we can do about those already here, but we can eliminate only those who commit serious crimes. The people will see that as nothing more than justice. We should also place limits on rescue missions. Recon ofcourse is still neccessary. I'd recommend sending only those whom you trust not to get, carried away.
Ambassador: Soldiers like yourself?
Chase: Yes, I can keep my emotions in check.
Ambassador: You make valid points, but I've also spoken with Magneto. He is very wary of the kind of measures you recommend. And the last thing we need is a civil war here in Antarctica. I will consult with the council, hopefully we can find a middle ground.
Chase: I'm not sure that's possible. You cannot please everyone, especially with much of the outside world fearing and hating us.
Ambassador: You might be right, but I'm not ready to give up on peace just yet.
