Viper floats up to find snacks in the cupboard above the fridge, generally where Colonnello tries to hide the nice protein bars.
They open the doors and pause curiously when they notice the top of the cupboard is slightly slanted, a gap appearing.
Viper reaches in and pushes up on the top of the cupboard, dislodging the light piece of thin wood. Viper hesitates for a moment but crawls inside the small cupboard and up into the narrow passageway that goes left along the kitchen wall.
Viper slithers through a few meters and then drops down behind the mirror splash back of the stove. The splash back is apparently a two-way mirror, and Viper can clearly see the entire room from this angle.
"Huh."
Inside Verde's closet, he finds a Reborn.
They stare at each other for a long moment.
"Why?" Verde asks.
"Okay, so Keiman just went to get something to eat, but I swear it's less weird when your alligator is in here with me."
"Get out."
"It's actually super comfortable, come in and try it."
"Reborn, I swear-"
Luce trips on the steps going up and catches herself on the handrail, patting her full stomach to reassure Aria that it was just a bit of a bumpy ride. She backtracks down onto the floor because she swears she felt something move under her when her foot got caught on the edge.
Luce toes around a bit and eventually her shoe pushes at something that jolts. She reaches down and lifts up. Two steps flip upwards and reveal a beanbag inside a cute little hidey-hole.
Luce walks around to the cupboard under the stairs and looks inside, only just realising that the end of the space, where it gets lower, is cut off to make room for this secret club house.
"Oh, cute."
Lal hears someone banging around under her desk.
"I locked it from this side," she calls down.
There is angry grumbling and then the sound of someone shuffling away.
Colonnello grumbles, wrestling with the showerhead, body dripping soap bubbles. Stupid Skull used the shower just before and so the showerhead is like eye level with Colonnello right now.
It's set on a vertical pole to slide up and down, and the showerhead detaches as well with a connecting silver pipe, so there's a lot of random twisty knobs that Colonnello has never really taken the time to fiddle with before now. He usually just brute forces it and it works fine.
Colonnello tries three knobs and then lands on a fourth that seems stuck tight. He grabs the vertical pole attached to the tiled wall and twists it right.
Wait. Righty-tighty, lefty-loosey?
Whatever, it's turning. So Colonnello keeps going right and then there's the sound of suction releasing and a whole chunk of tiled wall just pops out. Colonnello is left standing in the still running shower, gripping the vertical pole and tiled wall like it's a shield.
Colonnello turns off the water and props the wall piece up against the adjacent glass. He pokes his head into the narrow gap between the bathroom wall and the outside brick wall and then steps inside, still naked and soapy. It's very clean in the wall and he shuffles along, cursing when he stubs his toe on something. He steps on it, whatever this raised thing is, and tries to slide it away from his path.
At about knee height, the wall opens up again, back into the bathroom. Colonnello awkwardly slides down, knees twisted to the side because he can't fit in such a narrow space otherwise, and peers into the very nicely decorated gap underneath the bathtub.
"Alright then."
Skull stumbles sleepily past the giant, wall to wall tropical fish tank that he has set up for Oodako. He stops, backs up, and stares at the large castle he put in the corner.
A fake mermaid tail is poking out through the drawbridge.
And technically, Sun flames means someone can keep things going for quite a while even without oxygen.
"Don't bully the fish," Skull shouts through the glass.
The mermaid tail flicks up and slaps a passing Bala shark.
"Ohmygod!" Skull shrieks and scrambles for the ladder resting against the open top of the tank.
Fon shoves the three-seater couch back so he has more room to stretch. He usually does this outside on the grass but it's currently raining very heavily and the garage is taken up by large pieces of blimp that Skull and Verde are working on.
The couch slides back, and Fon pauses when he steps onto the now empty space. He bounces a bit on the balls of his feet and is quite certain the space underneath him should not feel so hollow.
He searches around and with a push at one end, the other side tips up. Fon pulls up a trap door and realises this is where all the throw pillows have been disappearing to.
"Interesting."
Shamal crawls under the bed, shoving blankets and snacks and firearms out of his way. Reborn rolls over and watches Shamal make himself a little dent in the nest.
After Shamal punches the blanket into submission, he settles in nicely. "You would not believe the shit I had to put up with today."
Reborn smirks. "Yeah, go on?"
