Strength of the World
It had been a good while and Ursa saw that it was time that Sabine and her family had a place of their own. So, she gave them a small wooden cabin a few klicks north of the stronghold. At the moment, Ezra was helping Mira and Anna get better with their force abilities, while Sabine and Celeste were sword fighting with Ezra's 'training sabers'. Ezra had the girls in meditation and was speaking to them calmly.
"Now, breath deeply and let it out. Feel your surroundings and feel their life force. You can feel it in the trees, the animals, and even Krownest itself. A planet can give someone strength. Lothal gives me strength." Ezra paused and opened his eyes. "But since you're are indeed your mother's daughters, Krownest can give strength. Feel the earth beneath you, draw your strength from it. Can you feel it?"
"Yes Daddy." Both girls said in unison.
"Okay good. Now, what I want you to do is to focus again. Before you there are two stones, one for each of you. I want you left them up." He smiled as the stones began to shake and slowly rise up. "Good, good. Now, Mira, I want you to push your stone to Anna. I want you to then grab Anna's stone as she pushes her own to you. Anna, do the same and take Mira's stone when she pushes it to you."
"Ready, Mira?" Anna asked her twin sister.
"Yup."
The stone that Anna had floated away from her and moved over to Mira's side of things. Mira's stone moved over too. The twins switched stones with each other. After a few minutes, they dopped the stones.
"Good job you two. This lesson will teach you focus and concentration. Meditation is key. You will need to keep meditating on your own. When you do meditate on your own, listen to the Force, listen to what it's trying to tell you. Do you understand?" Ezra asked his children.
"Yes Daddy." Both girls answered.
"Good. Now, would you like to join your sister and mother with sword practice? Or are you too tired? The Force can wear you out if you are not used to it."
"I wanna fight!" Anna yelled happily as she stood up and ran off.
"I wanna sleep." Mira wobbled a bit and Ezra picked her up.
"Alright angel. Let's go back to the house." Ezra walked over to Sabine and his other daughters. "I'm taking Mira back to the house. She feels tired after meditation."
"Alright, are you coming back?" Sabine asked her husband.
"In time, I need to meditate as well. It has been a while since I truly connected with the Force."
"Well, in the meantime, we'll be having fun, won't we girls?" She got a resounding yes in response. "Okay. Anna, do you remember the positions?"
"Yes Mommy."
"Good. Ready? 1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. 5.. 6.. Again 1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. 5.. 6.." Sabine counted as she led them through the form 3 positions. She led them as well as Ezra had led her back on Atallon. Picturing the dusty brownish red planet. She saw Kanan, Fenn Rau, and Ezra. All were kneeling around her as she held the darksaber in her hands.
"Mommy?" She heard Celeste ask her as she stood in silence.
"Sorry you two. I was just remembering the time when your Daddy taught me all of this stuff." Sabine wiped the tear she didn't realize she had.
"What did he do?" Anna pointed her stick down and looked up at her mother.
Sabine paused and sat down on a log nearby. "Well, it was a time when me and your Grandma weren't very close. We had a fight and she kicked me out. Ezra helped me get my life together, he helped me to be strong again. He also taught me how to use a lightsaber. It was annoying, and slow, and tedious. But in the end, he helped me get my family back. I guess that is part of the reason I love him." She smiled as she giggled at her daughters' expression. Both girls happy to see their mother happy.
"Was he good with a sword?" Celeste asked.
"Oh, he was amazing. He pulled so many different tricks and other moves that I thought it was impossible to learn it. But after some hard work and him encouraging me, I was able to reach his skill. Of course, he does have the Force as his ally, but I have him. And I have you three." She reached down and pulled her daughters into a hug. "Alright, enough of that. Who thinks they can beat me?"
"I can, I can, I can!" Anna spoke up.
"Bring it on Cuyanna." Sabine taunted her daughter to come forward.
The little girl rushed her mother, instead of waiting with patience. Anna swung left and right and left and right. Sabine blocked every attack with ease. But just to make it interesting, she allowed Anna to hit her leg once. She shook it off and stepped back.
"Good hit, honey. Let's see if you can do it again. Ready. 1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. 5.. 6.." Sabine led her through the motions while attacking. "Good, baby girl. Now, it's getting late. Let's go check on your father and his meditation." The two girls followed her to the house where Ezra was kneeling in his trance.
About an hour earlier
Ezra took Mira into the small cabin and laid her down on her bed. She was asleep before her head hit the pillow. Afterwards, he walked into the living room and kneeled down. Reaching into the Force he tried to connect with Jedi of the past. Eventually, he did make a connection. Although not one he expected.
"Master?"
Ezra was shocked, he never had been called Master before. "I'm sorry, who are you?"
"I am Eris. Eris Smoak. Your padawan learner." The young human girl kneeled in front of him. "You do not know me as of yet, at least I don't think. Well why would you, we haven't met and I- I am babbling again, aren't I?"
"A little bit young one, but that is ok. I do not know you, but I do remember Luke Skywalker requesting me take on a padawan. Might you be that said padawan?" Ezra chuckled as she smiled back Her blonde hair and hazel eyes seemingly shining. "I guess Master Skywalker has asked you to contact me?"
"Yes Master. He told me to talk to you and inform you that it is time you come and meet him on Yavin-4." Eris smiled.
"Alright, I will talk it over with my wife and see when we can come and get you."
"You have a wife?"
"Did Luke not tell you? I have a wife and three daughters, and child on the way. No bother. Unless you have an issue with it?"
"No Master. How old are your daughters might I ask?"
"They are about 5 years old now."
"Oh, so they are younger than me. It will be like having little sisters I guess."
"Yes indeed, Eris. Now, allow me to speak with my wife and see if she is willing to come along."
"Yes Master. I will see you when you arrive, I guess."
"Goodbye Eris." Ezra shut down his force connection and sat in silence for a moment. He had not expected to have a padawan besides his daughters any time soon. Thinking about it for a minute, he realized this could help him too. To be a padawan she had to be trained in the Force in some way, maybe he could get Eris to help him train his daughters. It seemed wrong, that he was using her for his own gain. But Eris would need to learn patience and understanding, something he never really got as a padawan.
Boom padawan. That was not where I was expecting this to go, but hey, it's a fanfic. It does what it wants. TB out!
