Evelyn glanced at the two boys on the other sofa before smiling. Sirius and James were utterly immersed in the television. James' eyes had been glued to it since they arrived while Sirius had leaned forward when the film started to get interesting. For Evelyn, it wasn't that much. She had seen 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' many times and it was too long for her to watch it one more time. The boys, on the other hand, were finding cowboys very interesting.

As the film continued, Evelyn looked away. It was the end of July, a Monday afternoon. Her mum and Ezra were at work and Christina was at Gabriela's. She was staying there for the remainder of summer. Evelyn was leaving in four days for the States. She wasn't excited about going there as she had been the previous years, but it wasn't as if she didn't want to go. It had become a routine to her by this point.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard an owl approach the window closest to her. She turned her head and her eyes widened at the sight of the owl. She could recognize the black-banded owl from anywhere. It was Rabastan's Midnight.

Without wasting any time, she rushed to the window. When she opened it, she was careful with Midnight. He was aggressive and wouldn't give her the letter without her giving him some treats first. So, she pulled out a few treats from the box near the window and put it on the window still. Midnight threw the letter on the ground and started to eat the treats.

Her hands started to shake as she opened the door. The last letter she had gotten from her boyfriend had been close to her boyfriend. Because of this family, they weren't allowed to exchange letters as much as they wanted to. This was the last letter Evelyn was going to receive from him this summer.

Dear Evelyn

I'm sorry to hear about Gabriela's mum. I can't imagine what she is going through and I offer her my condolences. I'm also sad to hear that you had to attend a funeral. Those events are quite sorrowful and they seem to last for hours. So, I hope you are doing alright and the funeral didn't have any impact on you.

To answer your question, I'm having a good time in Italy. I spend most of the time swimming and when I'm not swimming, I'm eating, sleeping or catching up in school work. We haven't travelled around as much as I wanted to. Father has been busy, mother never does things without him and my brother is still in England. It's still a good holiday though. Yes, I would have loved spending my summer with you, but sadly, my parents would have never let me stay in England.

Talking about England, I'm returning on the eighth of August. It's Lucius Malfoy and Narcissa Black's wedding next week. My mother says that we're all obligated to attend it since Narcissa is Bellatrix's sister. I thought at first that I would get to see you, but I then remembered you're heading in America. I would love for you to stay, so I can see you. I know it's impossible since your dad is very adamant and is part of the custody agreement between your parents. Still, a bloke can dream of seeing his beautiful girlfriend.

Either way, I'll see you on the first of September. I'll try finding you by looking for the prefect badge you're going to get.

Yours, Rabastan

A smile spread over Evelyn's face as she read the letter. She had missed Rabastan immensely these past few weeks. Her nights were haunted by memories of holding him, talking to him and kissing him. She had started to count the days until she would see him again. Only thirty-five days until she saw him again.

"Letter from lover boy?" Sirius' voice rang making her look up. Her gaze landed on him and saw that he had an amusing smile on his face.

"Yes." She answered him as she folded the letter. When she turned around, she saw that Midnight had flown away. "And please, don't call him lover boy."

Sirius snorted. "Should I call him future Death Eater instead?"

His answer made James look away from the telly while she pursued her lips. "Really, Sirius? Can't you do something better than that?" While she enjoyed Sirius' company, she found it irritating his dislike of Slytherin, specifically her boyfriend.

"Better than telling the truth."

Evelyn tightened her grip on the letter. "Rabastan isn't going to be a Death Eater. He hates it."

"Sure, Lynn." He murmured. "Whatever makes you sleep at night."

Evelyn curled her lips. She was tired of this. She was tired that he dismissed her words like this. Rabastan had told her many times that he hated that ideology and Evelyn believed him. "Why are you such an arsehole, huh?" She snapped at him. This caused James to turn his attention to her. "How many times do I have to tell you that he's not a bad person or that he will never be a Death Eater?"

"And how many times do I have to tell you that he's lying to you?"

"How would you know if he's lying?"

"Because I know him longer and better than you." Sirius got up from his seat and narrowed his eyes at her. "I know his family and I know nothing good comes out of it."

She pressed her lips together. "Rabastan is nothing like his family." When Sirius scoffed, Evelyn reached her limit. "If you're going to continue insulting my boyfriend, you should leave my house."

Her words lingered on the air for a few seconds. As seconds passed, Evelyn knew she didn't regret her words. She meant them and she would prefer if he left.

"Fine." Sirius retorted soon after. He turned his head towards James. "Come on, James."

"But the film-"

"James." It was all James needed to get up from the sofa and follow Sirius outside the house. As James passed her, he sent her an apologetic look. She only nodded her head and waited for them to leave. When she heard the back door close, she dropped her shoulders and looked at the letter.

She wasn't going to let Sirius Black ruin the joy the letter gave her. So, she focused the attention on it and tried to block the words he said to her.

Out of boredom, Evelyn found herself in the terrace, reading one of the books in the house's massive library. She had looked for one that would draw her attention and had found an interesting book that talked about Hit Wizards, one of the most corrupted divisions of the Ministry. Hit Wizards dealt with criminals while Aurors dealt with Dark wizards. In the occasion, Aurors did take the lead in important cases or when a serial offender was involved.

As she flipped the page that talked about the creation of the division, she heard someone move below the terrace. She put the book on the table and got up from her chair. She looked down only to spot Sirius walking towards her.

"I'm sorry. Did I not tell you not to be around this house if you continue insulting my boyfriend?"

Sirius looked up. He covered his face when the sun hit his face. "I'm not here to insult your boyfriend."

"Then why are you here?"

"To warn you."

His answer made a shiver run down her spine. She gripped the railings and gulped down. "Warn me about what?"

Sirius walked towards the stairs that lead to the terrace. As he climbed the stairs, Evelyn's heart started to beat fast. What did Sirius know that she didn't? Many things, she thought. He had been raised alongside Rabastan and his peers.

"About his family."

A sigh of relief escaped Evelyn. She had thought of the worst immediately. "I know about his family, Sirius. Rabastan has told me that they are quite dangerous."

Sirius stopped in front of her and raised an eyebrow. "Has he told that out of all the Sacred Twenty-Eight families it's the most dangerous?" She stayed silent. She didn't remember Rabastan telling her that. "Has he told you that my cousin Bellatrix who used to hurt animals when we were little, fits so well with them?"

Evelyn's stomach fell. Just the image of what Sirius described made her want to vomit. "What...?" He nodded his head. "That's horrible." He nodded again. "But that doesn't make your family dangerous too?"

"Oh, no one is denying my family is dangerous," Sirius answered her and she raised an eyebrow. "But what Bellatrix did was a bit too much for us too. In our family, we only cut house-elves' heads to celebrate them." Evelyn's jaw fell. Her mum had told her that the families had disturbing traditions. Evelyn just would never have thought it was this level of disturbing. "But the family is dangerous. If they ever find out about you and Lestrange,-"

"He'd be in danger."

Sirius scoffed. "Him?" He shook his head and she frowned. "He'll suffer a few hexes and he'll be finer after it. They will never kill their own kin. Not even the Lestranges sunk that low." Her body tensed as she knew where Sirius was alluding to. "You're the one who's in danger, Lynn. Lestrange might be a great bloke, but if his family finds out that he's with you, you'd better pack your bags to go to your dad's. Or better off, just disappear from the world."

Evelyn's hands started to shake and her heart was beating too fast for her liking. Rabastan had told her many times how dangerous his family was. She had always thought he was the one in main danger, but according to Sirius, she was the one most likely to be.

She gripped the railings and breathed out. She knew that this information was going to haunt her forever. She knew that tonight and the following nights, she wouldn't be able to sleep. "Thank you for telling me." She whispered. As much as she hated hearing about it, she was glad to know about it. It was better to know than not to.

"Don't thank me," Sirus mumbled as he moved to stand beside her.

"Is this why you hate Slytherins?" She asked him and he stiffened. Evelyn was sure that his relationship with his family was the primary reason he hated Slytherins. "Because of families like Rabastan's and yours?"

Sirius shrugged. "I guess." He muttered and glanced at her. "When you grow up in this kind of families, you are taught to believe in pureblood supremacy. It's enforced in you from the moment you were born and it never stops." Evelyn pressed her lips. "And while you are taught about all of this, you're also told that there's only one house that embodies these lessons. It doesn't make it better that most of Slytherin right now is filled with pure-blood supremacist. Even half-bloods are becoming like them."

"But not all of them are bad-"

"If you're talking about Alphard and your mum, I need you to remember that they weren't always good people." Evelyn didn't say anything. While she didn't know much about Alphard's ideologies in the past, she was quite aware of her mum's. "Alphard was fine to pretend he believed in this until it started to impact him. Until my family showed that they didn't care just about supremacy, they cared about homophobia as well." As Sirius spoke, Evelyn noticed a fire in his eyes. A fire that seemed to burn so much. "And your mum, well, I don't think she realized until she was kicked out for having you."

Evelyn let out a scoff. "My mum wasn't kicked out, Sirius, she left." Sirius' jaw fell and his eyes widened. "She wasn't kicked out when she was pregnant, she left when I was six months old." The utter shock in Sirius' face proved that everyone thought her mum was kicked out. "When she met my dad, he changed her ideology. He showed her the way, but my mum struggled still when she returned. She could have left with my dad when she was pregnant. Instead, she made a mistake and stayed for a few more months." To this day, Evelyn couldn't believe her mum chose money over her dad. "One night, she heard her father and brothers discuss Voldemort with other purebloods. She was terrified of what she heard. So, she packed her bags, took me and left. Her first stop was to report the Ministry of what happened."

"She reported Voldemort was gathering people?" Evelyn hummed. "Why didn't anyone do anything about it?"

"Because they didn't believe her. She was a young woman with a baby in her arm from a conservative family. They thought she was trying to ruin her family's image. So, they didn't believe her and look where we are today." A few days ago, Death Eaters had attacked a Ministry official to the point where he was in a comatose state in St. Mungo's.

When she glanced at Sirius, she saw that his jaw was clenched and his eyes were focused on the ground. To her, it seemed like he was thinking about all of this.

After a few seconds, he drifted his gaze towards her. "I had no idea that happened."

"I know," Evelyn muttered. "Even when my mum spoke the truth, people refused to believe her."

"Why?" Sirius sounded a bit irritated and she couldn't blame him.

"Because people believe what they want to believe." She responded as a light breeze passed over them.

A few minutes later, Evelyn and Sirius entered the house. The two of them walked in the living room and Sirius sat on the sofa. When she glanced at him, she noticed that he seemed to still be in disbelief of what he heard. Both of them had learned a lot today and both of them couldn't shake it off.

So, to distract both her and Sirius, Evelyn decided that she should change the subject. A question immediately came to her mind when she looked at Sirius. "Where is James?" She asked. It was a bit odd to see Sirius alone. All summer, he was attached to James.

"He broke one of his mum's precious vase. So, she gave him some gloves, a muggle glue and told him to put it back." She raised an eyebrow at the news. "She would have just fixed it with magic, but James has broken too many vases this year. Do you want to know what's worse?"

Evelyn walked towards Ezra's record player. Next to it, there were a few of his albums and five of hers as well. "What?" She asked as she wondered which album she should choose.

"The vase contained fire lilies."

She gasped. "Scandalous." She mocked and he snorted. "How did James take it?"

"He was devastated." She chuckled as she picked one of the Beatles' albums she owned. "What are you doing?"

"Come and see." Sirius didn't hesitate. He got up from the sofa and walked towards her. "I'm playing some muggle music on the record player. Have you ever heard of the Beatles?"

"Remus mentioned them, but for a long time, I thought he was talking about beetles as the insect." Evelyn started to laugh and he rolled his eyes. "Don't mock me about my lack of knowledge. Growing up, all I heard was classical and opera music." He winced. "I would rather hex myself than listen to another opera."

Evelyn hummed in agreement. While she did enjoy classical music at times, opera had always been boring to her. "Well, you're about to hear the best band of all times." She had picked the 'Hey, Jude' album as it featured her favourite song of the band.

"Remus mentioned that they broke up."

"They did. Don and I were crushed when we heard about it. We always listened to their songs together." There was a reason that from the five albums she owned, four of them were the Beatles. "We were massive fans, but not quite wrapped up in the Beatlemania."

Sirius raised an eyebrow. "Beatlemania?"

"It's the phenomena that this group caused among the world, especially with young women and teenage girls." Evelyn started to explain it to him. "The four of them would get chased down the streets by their fans all the time."

"Finally, someone I can relate to."

Evelyn was unable to put the vinyl in the record player as she burst into laughter. Sirius joined her too.

It was known around the school that Sirius had fans. Fans that were so obsessed with him that they would chase him wherever he went, that would hex any girl that could potentially be his girlfriend etc. Marlene had been a victim of these fans and Sirius had been one so well. She remembered vividly when he had told her about the love potion infested sweets they gave him.

When their laughter died down, she turned to him. "Has it gotten better after you talked to McGonagall?"

"They aren't sending any more sweets with love potions. However, for Valentine's Day and my birthday, I get a lot of love letters." She cringed. "To be honest, they're quite the entertainment when we're bored. Some of them come up with the most ridiculous sentences known to wizardkind."

"I don't doubt it."

Evelyn put the vinyl down and adjusted the record player.

"Now, relax and enjoy the incredible music of the Beatles." The vinyl started to spin and Evelyn placed the needle on it. Soon enough, Paul McCartney started to sing Evelyn's favourite song by them.

'Hey, Jude'

"A pizza?" Sirius repeated as they entered the kitchen. It was almost lunchtime and Evelyn was craving pizza. So, she decided to make one for herself. When she had told Sirius about it, she had learned that he had no idea what it was.

She hummed as she got two aprons for them. "It's an Italian dish that is made of dough, tomato sauce, cheese and any other kind of toppings that you like." She explained to him before throwing him an apron. "Now, put this on."

Sirius looked down at the apron and frowned. "Why would I put this on?"

"Because you're making one for yourself." She answered him as she moved to get some flour.

"When did I give you the impression that I know my way into the kitchen?"

Evelyn shrugged. "You didn't give me the impression, but it's an important life skill to have." She put the flour on the counter and went to find the other ingredients. "Or do you expect to have a house-elf to do this for you?"

"I'm not very keen on the idea of house-elves. Our house-elf, Kreacher, is a bit of a snitch and there is nothing worse than snitches." Evelyn got the yeast, bowl, two cups (one was a measuring cup), salt, olive oil, sauce, cheese, mushrooms and other toppings she could find.

As she walked towards Sirius, she snorted. "I thought that the whole enslaving situation didn't make you keen on the idea of them."

"That's a general thought. My opinion of Kreacher is very personal." She smiled when she noticed that he had tied the apron. "So, how do we make this pizza thing?"

"Well, you need to tie your hair first." Evelyn had already tied her hair because of the heat. Sirius' hair which was longer than hers, was down. She got another tie from her pocket and handed it to him. "We don't want to have any hair accidents in our pizza. So, tie up." Sirius groaned but did as he was told nonetheless. When he tied his hair, Evelyn couldn't help but notice that it brought his high cheekbones and sharp jaw more into the light. "You should tie your hair more often. It looks very good on you."

She turned to face the counter and got a good look at the ingredients in front of her.

"Now, let's concentrate on the pizza instead of your hair. Can we do that?"

She heard Sirius scoff. "I don't know, Lynn." He muttered. "I get to see my hair every day while you don't. You probably can get overwhelmed by its perfection."

"I think I can manage." She quipped. "First, we get the bowl." She brought the bowl closer to her. "We need 300 grams of flour."

Sirius frowned. "How are we going to measure 300 grams of flour?"

Evelyn picked up the cup and showed it to him. "We have this cup. This cup weighs about 120 grams. That means we need to put two cups and a half in the bowl." Sirius held the cup while Evelyn put the flour. After the cup was filled, he poured it on the bowl. They did it two other times, the last time they only poured a half a cup of flour. "Now, we add the yeast, a teaspoon of yeast." She got the teaspoon and poured the yeast in. "While I put the salt and olive oil, can you fill the clean cup with water? The water needs to be warm. Not hot or cold."

"I know what warm is." He retorted before grabbing the cup and walking to the sink.

As Sirius filled the cup, she put the other ingredients of the dough. Sirius returned and she stepped back. He poured the water on the bowl.

"What do we do now?"

"Stir it," Evelyn explained before starting to do it. "If we stir it, it will turn to a soft and wet dough. Afterwards, we need to knead it." Sirius stayed silent. "Do you want to knead it?"

"I have no idea how to do that."

"It's okay. I can show it to you." She assured it. "You will be kneading it until I get the ingredients for the sauce. I forgot to get garlic which in my opinion adds so much flavour to the sauce."

When Evelyn was done stirring, she got some flour and put it on the counter. After that, she put the dough and turned to Sirius. "Put your hands on the dough." Sirius hesitated and frowned at her. "Come on, do it." He shook his head and put his hands on the dough.

She didn't waste a second before putting her hands over his. Her stomach pressed against his side and she leaned her chin forward to his shoulder. "Now, pay attention." She began to move her hands and his hands followed her. Soon enough, their hands moved together against the dough. "Do you get it now?"

The blonde girl looked up to see the boy gulp down. He didn't respond at first and Evelyn noticed that his breath had turned shallow.

She frowned and focused on his face. She didn't miss the fact that his neck had taken a red colour to it. She refused to believe that it was something else other than the summer heat.

As she studied his face, Evelyn couldn't help but notice how smooth his skin was. She could only imagine how great was to run a hand down it.

"Yes, I got it." When Sirius responded to her, she snapped out of her thoughts and took a step back.

"Good, good, good." She mumbled and he glanced at her. "I should prepare the sauce now."

Evelyn walked away to get a clover of garlic, some basil leaves and another bowl. This time, she picked a smaller one as it was only for the sauce. After finding the ingredients, she made her way back to the counter. She opened the passata sauce and poured in the bowl she got. This was followed by starting to chop the garlic.

"Is this enough kneading?" Sirius asked.

She looked up. "Yes, that's enough." She informed him and he stopped kneading it. "Now, we need to leave the dough to rise if we want a thick crust. In my opinion, thick crusts always taste better." Sirius hummed at what she was saying. "Put the dough back in the bowl, get the tea towel next to the oven and cover the bowl."

Sirius followed her instruction and while she started to finish chopping the garlic.

"How do you know to do this?" He asked her after he covered the bowl.

Evelyn pressed her lips together. "My mum taught me. We always find time to cook or bake together." She started to tell him. "We did this as long as I can remember. It's always been our thing." Evelyn smiled. When she was younger, she used to jump up and down when her mum told her that they were going to prepare something together. "Pizzas have always been one of our favourite dishes. So, when I turned nine, my mum surprised me with a recipe and we learned to do it together."

"That's nice." He commented before shifting. "What other meals do you know how to prepare?"

"I can make some kinds of pasta, cornish pasty, baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, biscuits, chocolate cake and trifle." She told him. "I can also make apple pie, but my step mum taught me that." She finished chopping the garlic and put it on the bowl. She also added a leaf of basil before she started to stir pizza. As she was making the sauce, she could feel Sirius' eyes on her. "So, you don't know how to make a single meal?"

"Well, I can make pizza now."

Evelyn smiled. "Yes, you can do that now. However, it's very important to learn how to prepare yourself a meal. You said yourself that you aren't keen on the idea of house-elves." Sirius pursed his lips before nodding. "So, who do you expect to make you a meal?" He didn't answer. "Let me guess, a woman?"

"Sure if she wants to." She rolled her eyes ta him. "I can bet that my little fans would all learn to make my favourite meals if they knew what they were." Evelyn didn't doubt it. "You're right though. I should learn how to make myself a meal. After all, James knows how to."

She was a bit taken back. "He does?" She didn't expect such a spoiled person like him to know how to cook or bake.

"His mum taught him. Apparently, she hated that her mother had to make all of the meals with no help from her father. So, she made a vow to herself that she would teach all of her kids to cook."

Evelyn smiled. "That's smart. How about Remus and Peter?"

"Remus is a bit of klutz when it comes to the kitchen and he has an addiction to chocolate." Evelyn frowned. "While Peter is more of a food critic rather than a cook himself." He snorted. "I'm surprised you aren't a klutz in the kitchen too."

"It's because I'm very careful of the surroundings here. Don't want to have some freaky accident and lose my fingers." Evelyn told him. "Plus, nothing here moves. It stays in its place unlike the stairs in Hogwarts."

Sirius chuckled. "You can only blame the founder of your house for that."

"Oh, don't worry, I definitely do."

After the dough was done rising, Evelyn separated into two pieces. Her and Sirius spread the dough, put the sauce with a spatula, added the cheese and other toppings to the pizza. The last final step was putting the pizzas on the oven.

"They're going to taste amazing." She told Sirius as they walked back to the counter.

"I'm sure." He muttered as he leaned against the counter. His eyes drifted to the ingredients that were still on the counter before landing on her. "I have a question."

"Ask away."

"Didn't you sing a Beatles song in Hallowe'en?"

Evelyn shuddered as she remembered the bats on top of her head. "Yes, we sang 'Le It Be'."

Sirius smiled. A smile that made his eyes glint and his face glow. "Do you remember what happened afterwards?"

Before Evelyn could even think about it, Sirius grabbed a handful of flour and threw it at her.

She gasped while Sirius started to laugh. She whipped the flour off her face and turned to look at him. "You didn't just do that?"

"Oh, I did." He grinned and his eyes glinted even more.

Without wasting her time, she grabbed the spatula that still ahd tomato sauce and ran it down Sirius' cheek. He squeezed his eyes shut as she smiled.

"See, we're even now."

Sirius opened his eyes. His grey eyes were shining so bright that it made Evelyn's smile grow. "Oh, no, Lynn. We have just started."

Evelyn was faster than Sirius as she threw some flour at him, but he beat her at quantity. He had picked so much flour that she was sure that she covered head to toe. She didn't stop though. She continued to throw every ingredient her way.

The kitchen rang with their laughter as the food fight started to escalate more and more.

"What are you two doing?!"

At the sound of her mum's voice, Evelyn dropped the flour on the counter while Sirius lowered his hand that was holding the spatula.

Evelyn turned to look at her mum to find the woman glaring at them with her arms crossed.

"I ask again what are you two doing."

Evelyn cleared her throat. "Making pizza."

Her mum huffed before speaking her head. "Go get cleaned up. After you're done, come here and clean the mess that you made." Evelyn glanced at Sirius and saw that he was covered head to toe too. They had gone a bit too far with their food fight.

"What about the pizzas? They are in the oven."

"I'll take care of them." She snapped. "You two just go."

The two of them nodded before they made their way out of the kitchen. As they were leaving the kitchen, their eyes met. As soon as her baby blue eyes met his stormy grey ones, the two of them burst into another fit of laughter.

It took a bit too long for the two of them to get cleaned. Flour had gotten everywhere, even in their hair which proved to be difficult to be washed. Sirius even had to go back to the Potter's house. When he returned, they had to clean the kitchen. When they were done cleaning, the two of them could finally eat the pizzas they made.

So, now, the two of them were enjoying the pizza with some Coca Cola that Evelyn got from the fridge. "You were right about this. This is amazing." Sirius told her and she smiled.

"I told you, didn't I?" He hummed. "People should start believing me more. I'm right about things most of the time," He scoffed at her but didn't say anything to object her joke.

"Maybe you can teach me to cook more meals," Sirius suggested.

"We'll see if we have time. I'm leaving for the States in three days."

Sirius' smile vanished. Oh, right? I forgot about that." He bit his lip before looking at her again. "Are you excited to go?"

She shrugged. "Not really. It's become more of a routine, but I always enjoy myself." She only enjoyed herself when she wasn't studying. She sent most of the time there with her head buried in books.

"Are you close to your siblings?"

"Not as much as I want to." She admitted. "I only write to them around their birthdays and I don't hang out with them as much as I want to. My sister, Anna is two years younger than me and has her friends. Samuel is six years younger than me and we don't have that much in common. I'm way closer to Don and his siblings than I'm closer to them." It should have been odd that she wrote more letters to Gared and Phineas than Anna and Samuel, but it wasn't'. This was Evelyn's life as long as she could remember it. "How about you? Are you going back home?" Sirius puckered his lips at her question. "Rabastan mentioned that your cousin is getting married."

Sirius groaned. "Yes, I have to go even though weddings are dreadful events."

"Come on, weddings can be beautiful." She told him. "It's once to see two people who are in love get married-"

"Your first mistake is assuming that these two love each other." Evelyn's lips parted and her eyebrows rose. "Although, I'm pretty sure that they have some feelings for each other. Dear, uptight Cissy almost swoons when she sees Malfoy. However, the other marriages are all arranged and it's rare if the married couple falls in love. Almost unheard of."

Evelyn couldn't imagine how horrible it could be. Marrying someone because your family told you and not being able to love them. More and more, Evelyn was becoming grateful that her mum had left.

"At least, she always knew that she would marry him someday."

Evelyn blinked a few times. "Wait, are the marriages arranged from a young age?"

"More planned than talked about, but Narcissa has been betrothed to Lucius Malfoy since she was sixteen." Evelyn thought of Narcissa Black. She had stopped Cain from attacking her in the first year. Since she had graduated in Evelyn's second year, it meant that at the time, she was betrothed to Lucius Malfoy.

As Evelyn thought about this, she was reminded of Sirius who was biting his pizza.

"Has your marriage been talked about?"

Sirius snorted before he swallowed the bite. "Of course, I'm the heir of House Black." Her eyes widened. She couldn't imagine how containing and oppressive was to have your spouse being chosen by someone else. "They probably going to want me to marry your cousin, Elena."

Evelyn shuddered. This was horrible. Both Sirius and Elena were being taken away their right to choose. It pained her even more knowing that her cousin never had any kind of freedom. From what Evelyn could deduce, Elena had never made a choice of her own until she joined the club.

"I'm sorry, Sirius." She whispered as she looked up at him.

"Why? There's no way I'm going to be forced into a marriage." He responded to her and she blinked. "My family is well aware of that, but they are too proud and foolish to admit the truth. They think I'll go along with it as Bellatrix did. Little do they know, I'm not her. I would do everything not let take that freedom I have."

As Evelyn looked at him, she realized why Sirius was so different from her boyfriend. Yes, the two of them were raised in the same environment with the same horrible ideologies and by similar families. Yet Sirius did something that she had never seen Rabastan do. He spoke up against it. It was known all over the school he was against pureblood supremacy and loathed Voldemort and his followers. You could even say that Sirius was one of the most outspoken people about it.

While Evelyn knew that Rabastan didn't believe in it either, he never stood against it. He just stayed in the background and let his friends do their work. She knew that it was safer and smarter for Rabastan to do that. What Rabastan did was very much fit for a Slytherin.

Maybe this was why Sirius differentiated so much from the other pureblood families, including her mum and Alphard. He was brave enough to speak up. After all, there was a reason that Sirus Black broke his family tradition by being sorted in Gryffindor. You could even say that he embodied each virtue and flaw that Gryffindors had. There was no other place Sirius Black could have fitted other than Gryffindor.

Evelyn was sure of that.

I really enjoyed this chapter. While Sirius has become more of a prominent character these past few chapter, this chapter is all about Evelyn and Sirius. It was about time as they are the central romance story of this fic, to begin with. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter and please, let me know what you thought in the reviews.

Gues your fan: I'm glad that you enjoyed the chapter. It was rather a sad chapter with a bittersweet ending for Gabriela. Hopefully, this chapter will make you feel better as it's filled with happy and fun moments.
