Kaga Kusha smirked to himself, seated at his office in his lab. Finally, the apocalypse had come. Finally, he had the chance to show the world what he had been creating. Honestly, he didn't care much about the hero scene. In fact, he could almost be considered the opposite of a hero: a supervillain.
"Kaga, I told you not to release those," Metal Knight's voice boomed from a glowing screen.
"Oh, but it's the perfect time!" Kaga cackled. "That Yandere won't see it coming. Especially since my clones used to be a good friend of hers."
"As long as you use your other projects as well," Metal Knight huffed. "This is a joint effort."
"Of course, of course," Kaga rubbed his hands together. He faced a big green button. "Now enter the world, my children. Show her what you can do."
Ayano continued walking forward, mindless, empty, dead in the eyes. Corpses surrounded her slouching form. There was nothing but dead silence filling the air.
… until a single high pitched voice pierced through the silence.
"Yan-chan!"
Ayano didn't react to the voice. She still didn't say anything, even as more voices like that continued popping up.
"Yan-chan!" "Hey, Yan-chan!" "Yan-chan, my bestie!" "Hey, Yan-chan! Wanna come and play some Magical Girl Pretty Miyuki?" "Yan-chan, guess what, Class G is real!"
Then they appeared. Hundreds of them, an army, all wearing the same cheerful grin, all with the same long, green hair. Midori Gurin.
"Hey, Yan-chan!" The Midoris waved at their former childhood friend. "We told you Class G is real! We are Class G!"
Ayano made no reaction, and kept moving forward. Suddenly, a massive robot similar to G5 crashed into her, crushing her under its large robotic legs. Fire and dust exploded around it.
"BWAHAHAHA!" Kaga emerged from the robot's cockpit. "THIS IS IT, AYANO AISHI! I AM TAKING OVER THE WORLD!" He paused. "And, uh, saving everyone, of course." He clapped his hands. "GIRLS, YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!"
"MAGICAL GIRL TRANSFORMATION!" the Midoris screamed. "MAGICAL GIRL, PRETTY MIDORI!"
The army of Midori clones flew into the air, surrounded by green energy. Then their outfits began to change. Soon, they went from wearing regular school girl outfits to green magical girl outfits, complete with puffs on the sleeves, a small cape, and dark green socks. Gold accents surrounded their dark green leotards, revealing black-covered midriffs.
"THE DUTY OF A MAGICAL GIRL IS TO PROTECT THE GOOD FROM ALL THAT IS EVIL!" they all shouted. "AND SO, IN THE NAME OF MIYUKI, WE WILL PUNISH YOU!"
Kaga piloted his robot into the air, avoiding Ayano's deadly slicing abilities. As usual, she was completely unharmed.
"GET HER, MY PRETTIES!" Kaga boomed. "GET HER! BWAHAHAHA!" He coughed, awkwardly. "Of course, when you're ready."
The Midori clones cried out, zooming towards Ayano.
"WE KNOW YOU'VE DONE A LOT OF BAD, YAN-CHAN," they boomed, "BUT SURELY THERE'S SOME GOOD LEFT IN YOU!"
Ayano sliced the air, taking out multiple Midoris at once.
"WE KNOW YOU CAN BE KIND!" they exclaimed. "WE KNOW YOU'RE STILL OUR BEST FRIEND!"
Ayano still didn't react, continuing to slaughter the Midori clones by the dozen. Blood pooled out onto the ground.
"YAN-CHAN, PLEASE!" the clones cried out, flying towards her. "WE JUST WANT TO BE FRIENDS AGAIN!"
But Ayano didn't say anything, continuing to slaughter them all. However, there was someone who did react. Someone by the sidelines.
"Midori…" Kuu put a hand over her heart, watching from a distance. Her eyes creased. "Of course you'd do something stupid like this. You really are stubborn."
"Ah, school librarian Kuu Dere!" Kaga's robot landed right beside her, which she somehow wasn't bothered by. "What a surprise to see you here!" He made a face. "Hang on, you're a part of Goddess' hero group… which means the rest of them must be here too!"
Kuu didn't respond. She looked away from the army of Midori clones. She couldn't bring herself to watch it anymore. Her heart ached.
Midori, I was always so cold towards you, she thought. Yet in return, you gave me nothing but kindness… I wish I could've been a better friend to you.
"Do you really think you can defeat Ayano with Midori clones?" she asked Kaga, voice deadpan.
"Now now, I won't spoil my plans, Kuu Dere," Kaga smirked. "But trust me, you've seen nothing yet!" He threw back his head and cackled. "BWAHAHA!" He coughed. "Don't worry, I've got nothing evil planned."
"KUU DERE!" "Hey, it's Kuudere-chan!" "KUUUU!"
Kuu looked up. Some of the Midori clones had noticed her, waving jovially.
"YAY, OUR OTHER BEST FRIEND!" they grinned. "YOU'RE STILL OUR BEST FRIEND, RIGHT KUU?!"
Kuu realised she had a small smile on her face. "Of course."
"YAY!" the clones cheered, before promptly being slaughtered. Kuu saw Ayano right ahead. The two stared into each other's eyes. Kuu didn't understand what she was feeling, but her heart ached more. She stepped back.
Ayano's barely even a person anymore, she thought. But it's not like I can fight her. I'm weak. She shook her head, body shaking. I'm going to lose Midori all over again… she was always so much braver than me.
"YAHHHH!" more clones flew towards Ayano, only to die with a single slash.
"Ayano, stop," Kuu reached out, choking up. "Please… stop killing her…"
"Kuu, why are you crying?"
Kuu looked up at a Midori clone. She hadn't even realised tears were streaming down her cheeks.
"So this is what it's like to feel sad," Kuu choked.
"Don't be sad, Kuu," Midori said, putting her arm around Kuu. "We're going to be best friends forever! Things are looking pretty bad right now, but we'll make it out okay!"
"No, it's not," Kuu felt more hot tears flowing down her cheeks. "You're just going to die again, Midori. We're all going to die!"
"Don't be silly, Kuu!" Midori grinned. "There's no way we can die here! We haven't finished Magical Girl Pretty Miyuki 5 yet!"
Kuu kept sobbing. She let Midori help her stand up. Their arms wrapped around each other. Then Kuu realised how quiet the area had gotten. No magical girl chants, no annoying questions…
"Midori, you're the only one left," Kuu turned to Midori. "That means… she's coming for us."
"And we'll be ready for her!" Midori held out her fists. "We'll use our powers of love and friendship to… to…" She frowned. "What's the word I'm looking for?"
"NOT QUITE, LADIES!" Kaga boomed, starting up his robot. "NOW IT'S TIME FOR MY MASTER PLAN TO COMMENCE! BWAHAHAHA!" He coughed. "Uh, yeah, you might wanna stand back."
"Ooh, shiny robot!" Midori gasped, clinging onto Kuu's shirt. "How'd you make it, Kusha-san?"
"Same way I made you, Gurin," Kaga clicked his tongue. "Through hours and hours of PAIN AND SUFFERING- I mean, lots of work. Yes." He turned his robot in Ayano's direction. "FULL SPEED AHEAD!"
A white-hot blast was sent in Ayano's direction. The ground was blown up, dust rising. Despite the destruction, Ayano was completely unharmed.
"Wow!" Midori cried. "That did absolutely nothing! But it was so cool to watch!"
"I don't think it's going to be enough," Kuu muttered.
"AH, WE'RE JUST GETTING STARTED!" Kaga clapped his hands. "I'M METAL KNIGHT'S NUMBER ONE ASSISTANT FOR A REASON!" He coughed. "I hope he isn't watching, though…"
He pushed a button inside his robot, allowing it to grow even larger. More guns appeared on the side. It groaned with power. Ayano sat there, watching it with a dead expression.
"Why is she waiting for him to attack?" Kuu asked. She frowned. "Wait…"
Ayano suddenly teleported into a mist of red and black glitching. She emerged beside Kaga's robot, knife in hand.
"AH HA!" Kaga cackled, eyes wide. "PREDICTABLE AS EVER!"
He pushed another button. A gun fired right through Ayano's body. Despite that, nothing happened. Ayano was still holding onto the robot, gaping hole in her chest.
"What are you made of…?" Kaga asked, narrowing his eyes. "Seriously, for real. Are you elastic?"
Ayano began banging on the outer shell, cracking the walls. Kaga pushed every button he could, but Ayano wasn't budging.
"Kusha-san, she's trying to break in!" Midori gasped.
"Midori, he knows," Kuu sighed.
"YOU CAN'T KILL A MASTER SCIENTIST!" Kaga roared. He paled. "Well, at least I hope you can't."
He pressed another button, disappearing inside the robot's head. He emerged on the ground, wielding two guns. Midori and Kuu stood behind him.
"She's too strong," Kaga muttered. "Luckily I've called for backup, but I don't know how long we can wait her out."
"We'll be fine!" Midori beamed. "Because we have the power of friendship on our side! Don't we, Kuu?"
Kuu tried to smile one last time, tears still dripping down her cheeks. She grabbed Midori's hand, and they faced Ayano. The original trio of friends were back together again.
"Ayano," they both shouted, "Come back to us!"
SLASH!
The bodies of the girls fell to the ground, still holding hands. Ayano stood there, wielding a bloody knife.
BOOM
A gun hole went through her chest. Kaga scowled, weapon in hand. She turned to him, blinking.
"DAMMIT!" he roared, fumbling with his gun. "WE WON'T-"
Ayano sliced his head off, eyes dead and empty. Yet another meaningless death.
Glitching appeared around her; she teleported closer to another cluster of people, hiding in the streets. Panic arose.
"GET AWAY!" people screamed, backing up.
Then the ground began to shake. Cracks formed on the dark pavement. Windows on buildings cracked. Everything was surrounded by a green energy.
Fubuki stood in front of Ayano, hands out in front of her. Kencho was standing behind her, weapons in hand.
"Everyone, get to safety!" Fubuki boomed. The civilians obeyed, running away from the scene.
"Listen, you don't get to start the apocalypse yet, psycho," Kencho growled, sneering at Ayano. "I've just become the new heir to Saikou Corp!"
Fubuki squeezed her hand shut. "Hellstorm!"
A harsh wind with the screams of hell rushed through the city. Pieces of sharp rocks and metal zoomed towards Ayano, trapping her in a whirlwind.
"Finally, we get to continue our fight, Yan-chan," Fubuki growled. "You won't escape this time."
Then Ayano disappeared from the whirlwind. Instead, she was right beside Fubuki. The woman's eyes went wide.
"Fubuki!" Kencho roared.
SLASH
Fubuki opened her eyes. She was floating in the air, being held by another power. Kencho was standing on a nearby building, giving her a look. Her sister was floating beside her, power floating around her head. Her eyes were hard, battle-scorn. For once in her entire life, Tatsumaki actually looked her age.
"Sister..." Fubuki uttered, gazing up at her older sister.
"I told you to stay out of battles you can't win, Fubuki," Tatsumaki told her, voice cold. "Why don't you ever listen to me?"
Fubuki gritted her teeth. Tatsumaki clenched her fists. The ground began to crack at an alarming rate. The buildings shook.
She's going all out… Fubuki realised.
Tatsumaki raised her arms. The ground cracked around Ayano, trapping her on a little island. The green energy surrounded her body. Tatsumaki's body trembled.
"You won't escape this time," she boomed.
Ayano continued walking forward, ignoring the power surrounding her body. Tatsumaki stuttered.
No, impossible... she thought. Why can't I stop her?!
"Sister, look out!" Fubuki yelled.
Ayano had teleported beside Tatsumaki. Tatsumaki quickly summoned two barriers, breathing heavily. However, Ayano simply reached through the barriers, grabbing Tatsumaki by the neck. Tatsumaki roared. Ayano snapped her neck.
"Tatsumaki!" Fubuki cried. Her eyes watered.
Ayano turned to Fubuki, towering above her. All of a sudden, a different esper appeared. An esper with a sweetly sadistic smile, and iconic red hair.
"Remember me, dear?" Akane blew a kiss at Ayano.
A strawberry scented bath bomb was thrown at Ayano's face, covering her in the stuff. She didn't even blink.
"Come on, don't tell us you don't recognise some old pals," Shiroi smirked. "We know everything 'bout 'cha now. Even when you got rid of our memories."
"And that's a damn big mistake on your part," Aoi growled, putting her fist in her palm. "'Cause now we're gonna mess you up."
Ayano got up, glitching appearing around her. She teleported beside Shiromi, prepared to slice her head off. However, she was stopped by a black shield.
"Kuroko," Aoi growled.
Kuroko Kamenaga held up her shield, brows furrowed. Her lips were drawn into a tight line. She wore a coat covering her body, which flowed in the wind.
"You think you can just show up here?!" Aoi demanded, storming over to her. "You're half to blame for this!"
"I didn't think she was going to try and destroy the world," Kuroko responded, adjusting her glasses. "I want to-"
"THAT DOESN'T MATTER!" Aoi roared, grabbing the front of her shirt. "YOU BETRAYED MEGAMI! YOU'RE DEAD TO US!"
"Aoi, darling, please, now is not the time for this," Akane put a hand on her chest. "We could use all the help we can get."
"Don't you put on that stupid front," Aoi snapped at Akane. "There's no way in Hell I'm working with a traitor."
"I'm aware of what I've done," Kuroko breathed out. "But I still want to be a hero. I still want to protect Earth."
"YOU DON'T DESERVE TO BE A HERO!" Aoi screamed. "TRAITOR!" She leaned forward, punching her in the face.
Kuroko flailed back, blood dripping down her chin. She suddenly returned the punch, holding out her shield. Aoi growled, lunging towards her again.
"Ooh, getting juicy," Shiromi raised her brow.
Akane breathed heavily, red power flowing around her. "You motherfucking idiots! You don't-"
Then Ayano came up behind her, stabbing her through the gut. She collapsed to the ground. Aoi and Kuroko both stopped, faces pale.
"Dammit…" Aoi's body trembled. "I… I… NOOOOOO!"
Shiromi held out her phone, smirking. "Come on now, 'Info-chan', help us out here…"
"Of course," Info-chan's voice came from the phone. "Sending out reports to reinforcements…"
"I WON'T LET YOU KILL ANYONE ELSE!" Aoi screamed.
Oh, Aoi, you were always the passionate one, Shiromi chuckled to herself. She realised her own eyes were burning.
"Aoi…" Kuroko reached out.
Ayano glitched and teleported once again, instantly taking out both Kuroko and Aoi before they could blink. Two more pointless deaths.
"Well, looks like it's just you and me again," Shiromi smirked at Ayano. "But what's the point of even talking, anyway? You're just going to kill me too." She smiled. "But you know, I was pretty fond of those other girls. At least I got to make some good friends."
She still smiled, even when Ayano slaughtered her. Ayano perked up when she heard footsteps. Mumen Rider and Umeji Kizuguchi.
"We'll make you pay for their deaths!" Mumen Rider raced his bike towards Ayano. "JUSTICE CRASH!"
"Dammit," Umeji placed his fists together. "I'm not going to let you wi-"
But the two of them fell as well.
"Damn, that bitch…"
The remaining S Class heroes walked through the desolate streets. Bodies were everywhere. Humanity was running out of time.
Atomic Samurai chewed on some grass between his teeth. "She's already killed so many people…"
"Where's she hidin'?" Badd asked, putting his bat in his palm. "I'll knock her fuckin' brains out."
"Is that even possible?" Zombieman asked. He thought of what Dr. Genus had said. His warnings about the Yanderes…
"And then… well, you remember what he asked me to do to her," Genus said, looking down. He did not wish to discuss the original Goddess anymore, it seemed. "Travelling alongside that man I mentioned before, I saw another Yandere. In some ways, she was just like the original Goddess. Through a blood test, I realised she was the daughter of Ryoba Aishi, who is part of a family of those beings. But this girl has immense power too. For her entire life, she has been unable to feel emotions. Then that man awakened her to her purpose: becoming the strongest being in existence in order to become a destructive weapon. She is unlike the rest of her clan: her mother and predecessors' only purpose was to keep their lover with them, no matter the cost. But this girl was different. Her purpose puts her in an entirely different ballpark. She is a mutation, a Yandere with an ever greater power than her predecessors. Her destiny has been set in stone."
"Is she dangerous?" Zombieman asked. "Does she have noble intentions?"
"She is remorseless," Genus replied. "All Yanderes are. The only thing that matters to them is fulfilling their purpose. If it means they have to slaughter people, commit genocide, whatever it takes, they will."
"We do not have a choice," Genos turned to Zombieman. "We must stop her, or humanity will fall."
He narrowed his eyes, irises glowing. He scanned the area, soon locating the Yandere. She was up ahead.
"I am Master Saitama's disciple," he declared. "I will keep her down for you all. For real this time."
"What are you going on about…?" Badd asked him.
Without another word, Genos suddenly took off, fire coming out of his hands.
"Genos!" Taro shouted, lowering his hand.
Genos zoomed towards Ayano, who turned to face him.
"THIS IS YOUR END!" he declared. "INCINERATE!"
