Girl I Know

Ezra stood when he heard the door open. Sabine walked in, trailed by Anna and Celeste. Since it was so late, the girls went to bed while Sabine joined her husband on the couch.

"Sabine, I need to ask you something." Ezra wrapped an arm around his wife and pulled her close.

"Oh no, what now?" She giggled at her husband's antics.

"No, no. It's nothing bad. Just a new addition to our little family here is all."

"Addition?" She seemed really confused now.

"Yes. I have been contacted by a young girl. She claims to be my padawan. Assigned by Luke and Mara. She says that I need to come and pick her up from Yavin." He explained to his loving wife. He leaned in and kissed her tenderly on the lips. "Don't worry, love. She won't take away time with our children. If anything, she can help me train the twins."

"What is her name?"

"Eris Smoak. She is a young human female, can't be older than 14. A perfect role model for Anna and Mira."

"Well, we shall see I suppose." Sabine laid her head down on her husband's lap and started to doze off

"Do you want to come to Yavin to meet her? Or do you want to stay here?"

"I think I'll stay with the girls. Besides, its probably not good for me to travel so far being pregnant." She said in a sleepy voice. She was soon sound asleep and snoring lightly.

"Well, that settle it then, my love." He gently rubbed her back as they sat in the dimly lighted living room.

They Next Day

Ezra woke the next morning to find his wife lying on his chest. He pushed her purple and white hair out of her face and kissed her now exposed cheek. She stirred only ever so slightly as he went to move her over. When she hit the pillow on her side of the bed, the morning sickness hit her. She stood and raced past Ezra into the refresher. He stepped back and chuckled at her. Despite the retching sound coming from within the small room, he followed her in. He stepped behind his wife and pulled her hair out of her face.

"Never gets easier. You get used to it, but it never gets easier." Sabine sighed, pulling her head from the toilet.

"I know. It kills me that you have to go through this much stress and pain. But you gotta remember, the result is well worth it." Ezra smiled as she leaned back on him and breathed in and out slowly. "Now, if you don't mind. I do need to shower, and you need to brush your teeth."

"Are you saying my breath smells Bridger?" She snapped back.

"Indeed, my loving wife. I know that you can control all of this, but you know that you need to keep up your hygiene." Ezra spoke soft and wrapped her up in an embrace.

"I'm sorry Ez, I just hate all of this pregnancy stuff. I know the result is what I want, but I hate going through it every time." She sobbed as her hormones got the best of her.

"Shhh. It's okay love. I know, I know. Just hang in there. Maybe this time we'll have a baby boy." Ezra stood and carried her back to the bedroom. He then got ready for his trip. "I should be gone no longer than three days. I love you."

"I love you too." She held him close, not wanting him to go. Eventually she was content and let go.

Ezra walked out the door and moved over to his speeder. He took off through the trees along the path to the stronghold. The engines hummed and the wind whistled by. The trees flew past, and the radio played. Ezra had taken time to install a radio able to play his music chips. He heard a song that he was very familiar with. 'Dear God'. He was singing as he drove, and he soon reached the stronghold. After a short conversation with Alrich explaining everything, he fired up the Gauntlet and took off.

Yavin

Eris was packing her small bag of belongings, getting ready from when Ezra got there. Unfortunately, she had to say goodbye to her best friend Crista. They had arrived at the temple together from a backwater planet called Titan. Both were extremely skilled with a blade and determined to be there best. Eris was not looking forward to saying goodbye, she hadn't even told her she was leaving. This wasn't going to be easy.

"I really don't wanna do this." Eris said to herself.

"Do what, young one?" Mara's motherly voice came from the door.

"Oh, Master Skywalker. I-I uh."

"Sit, Eris. And please call me Mara, I have been your instructor for some time. I really don't mind while in private." Mara walked in with Ben cradled in her arms. "What don't you want to do?"

"I don't wanna have to tell Crista that I am leaving. It will break her heart. We have been friends since the beginning." Eris held her head in her hands.

"It will be okay Eris. Crista is strong, we both know that. She will be fine. We are also thinking of her having her own Master soon." Mara rocked Ben back and forth. She had an idea in mind, but she would have to talk it over with Luke later. "For now, let's just go and see Crista."

The two stood and walked out of the room. Eris knew Crista's favorite spot, the top of the old tower. She was a girl that loved to be outdoors. Eris approached the tower's top and stopped. Crista was sitting cross legged on the tower's ledge. Her long blonde hair was flowing in the wind, her sky-blue eyes shimmered off of the sun's rays. Eris stood a moment before going over to her friend. She admired her beauty in the morning light a moment, then walked over.

"H-Hey Crista. What's up?"

The short blonde girl jumped up and front flipped to the ground. She walked over to her taller friend and looked up.

"Oh, nothing much. Just finishing my daily meditation. What's up?" Crista asked with a smile.

"I-I have to tell you something. I am gonna be assigned a Master. I will be leaving the tower."

"W-What?" The shorter girl shed a tear. She ran forward and hugged her friend. "No, you can't go. I will miss you."

"Crista, you must understand. Eris needs to be trained by a Jedi Knight. Luke feels that Ezra Bridger is the best suit for her." Mara interjected.

"W-When will you be leaving?" Crista said, still holding on to the girl she saw as a sister.

"Tomorrow. He will come tomorrow." Eris held the smaller girl. Even though they were the same age, Eris was around 5'5" while Crista was about 4'10". That made Crista very agile in battle, but it also got her made fun of for a long time. Eris was the only one to stick up for her.

"Don't worry Crista, it will all be alright. I promise." Mara smiled and placed a hand on the smaller girl's shoulder. "One day soon, you will have a master too."

"I don't want a master, I want Eris!" Crista was still crying. The girl she though of as a sister was leaving her, and she had no idea when she'd see her again.

"I know, Cris. I know." Eris tried to comfort her friend as they sat on top of the tower. Mara walked back down to her and Luke's chambers. She walked in to find her husband deep in thought. She decided to bring up the subject of Crista's master now.

Ah don't mind me, just gonna leave this little cliff hanger here. I will go into more of Eris and Crista's backstory next chapter. But until then, its mighty memeing time! TB OUT!
