The weekend blew past for the family. Simon stayed with the family over the whole weekend, he wanted to make up for lost time.

It was now Monday morning, Carla let Peter have a lay in as she got up with Theo. He was now coming up for seven months and was teething throughout the night. They had taken it in turns, to get up with him throughout the night so Carla let Peter sleep.

Carla made sure Theo was fed, changed and sorted before waking a groggy Haisley from her sleep. It was her first day back at school since LA. It was the week before the christmas holidays but Carla wanted to make sure she got back into a routine before all the excitement of christmas took over.

"Morning, baby" Carla said, taking a seat on Haisley's bed. She placed her hand on her shoulder and a kiss on her forehead.

"No mummy" Haisley said rolling over.

For a six year old she acted more like a teenager but Carla just smiled at her daughter. "Come on baby, we have to get up to get ready for school"

A little while later and a whole lot more encouragement, Haisley was dressed and at the breakfast table eating some toast.

Carla sat next to her with Theo in the high chair. Peter emerged from the bedroom, smiling at his family.

"So who is ready for the first day back at school then?" Peter asked, making his way to Haisley. He placed a loving kiss onto her forehead.

"I am daddy, I can't wait to see all my friends"

"That's nice baby" Carla smiled at her.

"I can't wait to see Jamie" Haisley smiled before taking another bite of her toast.

Carla looked at Peter and laughed.

"What?" he asked but he knew what she was laughing about.

Carla rolled her eyes and stood "Come on Haisley, let's do your hair" she grabbed a hair brush and some hair bubbles and positioned herself behind Haisley.

Peter decided to join Carla and the kids on the walk to school. Once they got to the playground there were families waiting to drop their child off.

"JAMIE" Haisley shouted as they turned the corner. Haisley ran over to him and placed her arms around his neck. Jamie responded to her hug.

Peter huffed but Carla walked over to his mum, leaving Peter to follow with the buggy.

"Hello" Carla said.

"Oh hello, we hoped you would be back today" Anne, Jamie's mum replied.

"Yeah, I wanted to bring her back before we broke for Christmas, Anne, this is Haisley's dad Peter" Carla said with a smile. She must admit she liked showing Peter off to others, he was handsome for a dad in the playground.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Anne, Jamie's mum" Anne replied.

"Nice to meet you too, Haisley talks about Jamie all the time" Peter told her.

"Yes, so does Jamie"

"That's good, I was hoping he could come round for a playdate on afternoon after school this week?" Carla asked.

"That would be lovely, here is my number, I am sure we can sort something" Anne said, giving Carla her number.

A little while later, Carla, Peter and Theodore were at home.

"Peter, can we talk?" Carla asked.

Peter immediately stopped what he was doing and turned to Carla "Of course" he smiled trying to hide the panic.

Of course Carla saw straight through that and saw his panic "Don't panic Peter" she smiled and took his hand, leading him to the sofa.

"I want to talk about our wedding" Carla told him "I want to be your wife again"

"Oh thank god" Peter eventually breathed.

"Peter, what on earth did you think I was going to say?" she chuckled.

"I don't know, I thought you might be leaving me"

"Peter, I love you, you idiot" She placed a kiss onto his lips. Peter fell backwards, pulling her on top of him.

"Peter" Carla said between kisses.

The couple sprang apart to the sound of Theodore's cries.

Peter just stayed laid in place as Carla tended to Theo. He loved his children with all his heart but they really needed to work on their timing.

Carla laughed at Peter's disappointed face. She brought Theo over to the sofa to sit on her lap.

"I love having a boy you know" she said to Peter whilst staring at Theodore.

"Really?" Peter asked.

"Yeah, I loved having a girl when Haisley was little and having her is everything I thought it would be but a boy is different" Carla told him.

"I think it is perfect we have one of each" Peter took Theodore's hand in his.

"Me too" Carla kissed Theo on the head.

"So no chance of another one?" Peter asked gently.

Carla's face shot up to look at Peter in shock.

"I take that as a no" Peter sadly said.

"Peter, I didn't even know you wanted another one"

"I can't say I have thought about it until right now, it just seemed like a good time to bring it up"

"Peter, I love you but I am happy with the two children we have, all three of them"

Peter kissed Carla's forehead "Me too"

"Are you sure?" Carla asked.

"If you are sure, then I am sure"

"Peter that is not an answer, don't say what you think I want to hear"

"I'm not, I love all three of my children and that is enough for me" Peter told her honestly, taking Theo from her and sitting him on his lap.

"Ok, so back to our wedding" Carla reminded him "I think we should get married soon'

"Carla, I would marry you tomorrow if that's what you wanted" Peter told her, taking her hand.

"I think we should start planning, I want both our families there with us and I want to make the day special for the kids" Carla told him.

"I agree" Peter nodded "we deserve this day Carla"

Carla smiled at him, she squeezed it and took a breath before she brought up the next subject for business.

"Peter, I want to change Haisley's name"

"Really Carla"

"Yes, I am going to look into getting the forms ready"

"Let's ask Adam, he can get things moving"

"I want to talk to Haisley first, I have never done anything without her say so" Carla told him "so I want to make sure she wants this and that she is happy to do it"

"Ok, I understand" Peter told her. He was a little sad that she needed to do that, Haisley loved having him in her life so he was sure she would say yes but it worried him that there was a slight possibility she might say no.

After a day chilling at home, Carla left Theo with Peter to go and get Haisley. She was going to take her to the park for a bit before bringing her home.

It was December so it was cold but it was dry and a nice day for a park trip.

"Haisley, can mummy talk to you for a minute, before you go play" Carla asked the little girl.

"Yes mummy"

"I need to talk to you and I need you to be a big girl" Carla said and Haisley nodded.

"Ok" Haisley said, quietly.

"You know you are Haisley Michelle Connor"

Haisley nodded.

"But daddy and Simon and Theodore are Barlows"

"Yes mummy"

"Well I was wondering if you wanted to be a Barlow, just like daddy and Theo" Carla told the little girl.

"So I would be Haisley Michelle Barlow?" Haisley asked.

"Yes baby that's right"

"But what about you mummy, you are Carla Connor"

"I know that baby"

"So I want to be the same as you so you are not alone" Haisley said sweetly.

"Oh baby, that is so kind of you but don't worry about mummy, I want to know if you want to be the same as daddy"

"Jamie has the same name as his daddy" Haisley told Carla.

"He does"

"And so do the other children in my class"

"They do baby" Carla smiled at her.

"So why don't I?" Haisley asked.

"Well baby, when you were born me and daddy were not together then so I had to move to LA so it was easier for me to have the same name as mummy because daddy had to stay here"

"Why?"

Carla knew this was coming. She wanted to be honest with her but she felt that she was too young to understand so she tried to explain the best she could.

"Daddy wasn't very well when you were a baby, so he had to stay here so grandad Ken could look after you but we had to go and keep auntie Suzie company"

"Ok mummy but is it ok if I can be a Barlow now?" Haisley asked.

"Of course it is" Carla kissed Haisley on the top of her head "go on, you can go and play now"

Haisley ran off to play. Carla watched her closely but let out a tear from one eye. She wished with all her heart that they were still married and that Peter never had his affair because at the end of the day that is what this comes down to. Again she has had to do something she didn't want to because he had an affair.

She shouldn't have to have these conversations with a six year old. She was angry but she didn't know why she was angry.

She wasn't exactly angry at Peter, she was just angry at the situation. Haisley should have his name but at the time it just wasn't important.

After a little play in the park, Carla walked home hand in hand with Haisley.

"Hello" Michelle said as she bumped into them on the way.

"Hello auntie Michelle" Haisley said.

"Hello Chelle" Carla replied. Michelle took one look at Carla and could tell she was sad.

"I haven't seen you two in a while, I want to hear all about LA"

"We had a great time" Carla told her "Chelle do you mind, I have to get her home and feed her"

"Are you ok?"

"Yes" Carla lied.

"What are you doing tomorrow?" Michelle asked Carla, who just shrugged in response.

"You are going to have some lunch with me in the bistro"

"Ok" Carla gave her a small smile.

"Auntie Michelle I am going to be a Barlow" Haisley told her. Carla looked at her a little annoyed she had just told Michelle because she wanted to tell Peter first.

"Oh really?" Michelle answered, now knowing what Carla was being off for.

"Listen Chelle we have to go, i will see you for lunch tomorrow" Carla told her practically pulling Haisley away.

Peter heard the front door shut "is that my girls home?" he called out from the kitchen.

"Yes daddy"

"Just in time for dinner, princess go and wash your hands and sit at the table and I will bring it over" Peter told her.

Carla placed her handbag down and went straight to the fridge for a drink. Peter watched her.

"You ok love?" he asked.

"Yeah" she smiled at him "I'm going to check Theo"

Peter watched her as she walked away from him, he knew she had the conversation with Haisley but he was unsure as to why she might be sad about it.

Peter watched Carla closely over dinner time, he wanted to make sure she was ok. They decided as a couple to not tell the children they were getting married before they had a date and had started planning.

Simon had decided that he was going to continue living there for the rest of the week, he wanted to spend time with his family.

"Si, how is college going?" Carla asked him.

Simon had finished school in july and started college in september. Peter had thrown him a party when he got his results. Peter and Carla bought him a new laptop to start college on a fresh note.

He loved college, he was studying IT. Paige also went to the same college. Simon and Paige were going from strength to strength.

Peter and Carla didn't know much about Paige other than she went to the same school and did well with her results. Simon never really speaks about her personal life, other than she lives at home with her mum and little sister.

"It is really good thanks Carla, I am learning loads to help with my job at the factory" Simon told her.

"That's good Si, I need the talent" Carla smiled at him.

"What are Paige's plans for christmas?" Peter asked Simon.

"I am not sure yet dad"

"Well what are you doing this christmas?" Peter asked Simon.

"There is no pressure Simon, you do what you want to do" Carla reminded him, glaring at Peter.

Peter shrugged at her "I just want to know what his plans are"

"I don't know yet, dad, I will ask mum and Paige and get back to you"

"Ok" Peter answered sadly.

"Well Paige is welcome to join us on christmas day if you do want to come here" Carla told him.

"Thanks Carla"

"It'll be nice to get to know her more, since she is with you and the other girl in this family" Carla told them.

Peter raised his eyebrow at her and chuckled.

"What?" Carla questioned.

"Nothing love" Peter smirked.

After dinner both children were asleep and Simon was in his room.

"Carla, are you ok?" Peter asked her. The couple were sitting on the sofa, chilling after a long day.

"I am ok" Carla took his hand "I am a bit sad"

Peter squeezed her hand "why?"

"Haisley wants to be a Barlow" Carla told Peter, who smiled at this information "I just got upset because it's what I have always wanted"

"It's my fault that everything happened the way it did Carla and you know I will always be sorry for that but I am trying my best to make up for it"

"I know you are" Carla placed a small kiss onto his lips "It just comes back from time to time that's all"

"I know" Peter lowered his head.

"But soon we will all be Barlow's and it will be like nothing ever happened" Carla told him.

"I love you so much Carla"

"I love you too"
