Chapter 60: Assault Strategy

''So, what do we do now,'' Ma'gann asked the mystics.

The mystics and team had taken refuge in Phantom's Keep in the Ghost Zone. They knew it was one of the few places they could go without the league following them. They were sitting in the library.

''First, we want to apologize,'' Danny says, all the mystics looking ashamed and guilty. ''We shouldn't have dragged you into this, pitting you against your own mentors.''

''If they could seriously just leave you guys hanging out to dry the way they did, we definitely chose the right side,'' Dick said.

''But we're about to cross a line that every hero knows not to cross,'' Ethan says. ''I've read enough comic books as a former geek to know that heroes don't kill.''

''And it will be avoided at all costs when it comes to us,'' Jaime tells them. ''We'll fight, but we'll also leave the messy work for you.''

''I can deal with that,'' Erica shrugged. ''More blood for me.''

''So, what exactly are we gonna do,'' Gar asks.

''Let me look something up,'' Danny said. ''I have a bad feeling about something. And I don't mean in the ghost sense type of sense.''

Going over to one of the bookshelves, he pulled out a book. Putting it on the table, and opening it, out came a magical hologram of Earth.

''This can help us map out the location of the most serious attacks against our kinds,'' Danny instructed.

''Well, we can already put down the places where they tried to get the Weapons of the Ancients,'' White says.

Dots appeared on San Francisco, the forest in Spain, Transylvania, Rome, and Delos.

''We can add Greece, Salem, and England to the list,'' Orion said. ''That's where attacks against harpies and witches have mostly occurred.''

Three more dots went up on the globe. The others all started thinking of places where the Guys In White could possibly have gone.

"They could be anywhere," Melinda says. "Without any pieces of their equipment or a part of their uniform, I can't cast any locator spells. I hate not being able to use a spell."

"They've seen all of us, so do you think they'll go after us specifically," Lena wondered. "We are the ones that keep putting a stop to their plans."

"Oh gods," Krinos swore. "They might go after my forest."

"Or the Eternal Spring," Alya gasped in horror. "They could cause the spring to dry up."

"What if they get to the Isle of the Enchanted Forest," Juliet freaked. "Without fairy tales, the magic that brings hope to children will wither away. Fairies, angels, and pixies run on belief. Without a child's belief in hope and magic, they'll all start to fade."

"If they get their hands on our sacred objects, all will be lost," Orion pointed out. "If they get the Diamond Breeze, no harpy will ever fly again."

"We need to separate," Danny suddenly said.

"What," everyone else asked the half ghost.

"We all have more power than we care to admit," Danny says, the mystics all looking at the floor. "We have access to Frostbite's, Pandora's, and Princess Dora's armies. Plus all your Isle homes. We need to defend all the magic left on Earth."

The mystics and team all nodded in agreement.

"First off, we know that their main targets will most likely be Camelot, Krinos's forest, Delos, the Eternal Spring, Athens, Transylvania, and London," Danny told them, the mystics agreeing,

"Why London," Conner asked.

"There's a school for witches and wizards there, like the ones in New Orleans, Athens, Argentina, Sydney, and Japan," Melinda explained. "Let me remind you that every witch, wizard, warlock, and gypsy all start out on Earth. We have to learn the craft somewhere, you know."

"A magic school in England," Gar wondered. "Please tell me the name of the school is Hogwarts."

"Sorry, that school was made up by J.K. Rowling," Mason answered the shapeshifter. "Doesn't surprise me that she wrote those books, though. She is the daughter of Calliope, muse of epic poetry."

"A famous author is a demigod," Ma'gann gasped.

"If might come as a surprise to you, but a lot of artists are either demigods, witches, or wizards," Orion said. "Musicians and authors come from Athena, the muses, or Apollo. Actors from the muses, Apollo, Dionysus, or Pan. Other gods of the arts are Minerva of Rome, Loni and Pele of Hawaii, Odin of the norse, and many others."

"Magic has more ties to the world than any of those Guys In White conspiracy nuts care to admit," Sarah smirked.

"Continue, Phantom," Kaldur told the ghost prince.

"With those seven places most likely to go under siege, we will have to prepare," Danny stood strong. "Orion, I want you to take myself and Nightwing to Athens. Alya, your with Kaldur and Valerie to protect the Eternal Spring. Conner and Roy, go with Alain and Caitlin back to Delos with Pandora's army. Ethan, Erica, Sarah, you'll lead Frostbite and his army in Transylvania. Siren, Jaime, Melinda, and Skylar will be in London, try to get the school to fight back as well. Beast Boy and , you'll go back to Camelot with Juliet and Mason to help lead Dorothea's army."

"I can get some of my harpies to help out in Athens," Orion offered. "We're all looking for payback and a chance to start clawing out their eyes."

"With magic under attack, i'm sure that everyone in the school will want to help," Melinda says.

"And if needed, the pegasi can get us out of the battle quickly," Skylar stated. "My kind has always been an ally to the mages."

"My fellow sirens can help me and Krinos, especially with permission to me merciless from our crowned prince," Lena says, getting a nod from Siren.

"If need be, me and Alain will call more were-creatures from the Isles if we need to," Caitlin put her hands on her hips.

"I want first crack at them," Alya growled. "And it won't just be a lion that i'll use to maul them. I'll unleash the entire animal kingdom on those sorry excuses for government agents."

"I'll have popcorn prepped and ready so I can enjoy that show," Valerie smirked.

"We all have our assignments, so let's collect our allies, armies, and weapons and get to work," White says, standing up.

"I can't wait to watch white turn red from the blood of our enemies," Erica evilly grinned, making everyone take a step away from her.

*****Justice League*****

Every member of the league was on high alert, everyone afraid of what the mystics were capable of. They were all currently having a meeting.

"You just let them leave," Hal Jordan yelled. "And the team went with them!"

"I'd like to see you try to stop over ten all powerful beings from leaving during an earthquake that one of them caused," Green Arrow protested.

"They're kids," John Stewart pointed out.

"Well, one of those 'kids' just nearly brought all of Mount Justice down on us," Canary argued. "They're angry, they're powerful, and they're out for blood."

"So, what now," Flash asked. "Do we just let them go and kill off the Guys In White?"

"Surprising to hear you ask, as your own protégé helped them," said.

Flash glared at the lord of order.

"Enough, all of you," Superman shouted, the league turning to him. "The mystics feel that we have failed them. That they can't feel safe on Earth because their laws and our own don't mix. We can't arrest the agents because their crimes are against the mystics and we have no laws to protect their kinds. They are dealing with them the only ways that they know will let them feel safe again."

"Can you blame them," Martian Manhunter asked, the league gasping. "I went through the same types of problems when I first came to this planet. The fear of rejection, of having to hide who you are, of not being accepted. The mystics can't have their justice the same time as their secret."

"They did bring up fair points," Tornado points out. "They are not human, so the Metahuman Protection Act can't help them. They're world is meant to be secret, so they can't testify to send the agents to jail without exposing their world. This is the only way they can find justice."

"By killing," the Atom cried. "How is that justice?"

"It is their own rights, traditions, and laws," answered. "Like the chosen of Apollo said, in were-creature law it is 'an eye for an eye, a life for a life. Who are we to interfere with how their world works?"

"We can't let them kill, no matter their reasons," Wonder Woman said.

The rest of the league agreed with her. But Batman had stayed silent the whole time. Most would think he'd be a little more vocal with three of his sons involved. But for the first time in the history of the Caped Crusader, the Dark Knight did not have a clue what to do.
(Hell freezes over, the fat lady sings, pigs fly, a blue moon rises, the sky falls, the Cubs win the World Series. You get the idea.)
