Don't Overdo It:
With the tutoring now as the new priority, Kendall went over to Kick's house helping him with his assignments that day and Friday. He needed a lot of help, given the fact he had to have quite a few cheetah chugs to focus on his homework assignments. She enjoyed being over at his house though. His home was welcoming, his mom made her feel safe and like she was part of their family, plus made the best of meals. Kendall felt at home, which was something she had to admit she hadn't felt in a long time.
Linnie would call to check in, since she had taken off almost all her vacation days she had from work. She couldn't stay over as often as she wanted. However, she wanted to check in with Kendall, which they talked for almost an hour each of those days to make sure everything was okay. Linnie knew things were still adjusting given that Kendall was doing both phone, and in house therapy, plus now that she was back at school, she was getting back into her student council and other club work. Linnie, though was grateful for Mrs. Buttowski, Mrs. Magnuson and even Mrs. Wackerman as they assured her they would help Kendall, be there for her in any way she needed, which offered her a comfort that she really appreciated, plus knew that Kendall also needed.
With Kendall helping Kick with his homework, it was clear to her that he could get it done within the week and half he was given. The fact he already turned a few in that Friday, because of her help proved he could do it. He was still passing PE and was actually passing weight training. So when Kendall received the email regarding all that Kick needed to do, he didn't need to do much for his weight training class but one extra credit assignment packet to make up for a few quizzes he didn't turn in. That was the first thing he did, and was now fine in that class. However, the two still had more to do.
Friday night, Jackie and Brianna spent the night at Kendall's. They enjoyed the night with movies, gossip, games and fun, which Kendall loved filling the house with that. Kendall was either over Brianna's or Jackie's when she was younger, so it wasn't often that the two got to spend the night at her place for many reasons. However, now she got to enjoy their company, got to enjoy having them fill her home with warmth, laughter and fun. Something she really missed.
As the morning rolled around, the three did a few errands before splitting up since Kendall still had to set up for Kick's tutoring at her place. Jackie went off to do something with her mom, helping her out with some things and her business, while Brianna got ready for her lunch date with Chris. Kick, for the time being did some stunts at the park since he wanted to blow off some stress, Gunther tagging along as the two did a few tricks before Kick had to go to Kendall's.

"You ready to get more done?" Kendall questioned as she opened some textbooks and got her laptop out. He let out a sigh.
"Honesty, I rather not do it, but I know it needs to get done." He stated, sitting down at her coffee table and looking at the unfinished assignments she laid out. She shook her head.
"Let's start easy again and go with the science labs." She offered. "You only have a few and it shouldn't take too long. Plus doing the lab reports won't take too long either as you just have to fill out these answers, which are just observations." She pointed out, bringing the assignments before him. He sighed again then nodded. The labs consisted of temperature, density, salinity, and Acid/Base experiments. She helped him work with the different types of water as well as the different types of solutions to get the labs done. It didn't take as long as he thought to get the labs done, just about two hours, but he still didn't like doing them. However, once done he felt relieved that the science part of his homework was done. He cracked his knuckles.
"Okay, thankfully that's out of the way." He let out.
"See not too bad and you got that done pretty quickly." She smiled. "Told ya you can do it. Just need to focus."
"Yeah still doesn't mean I like it." He countered. She giggled.
"Maybe, but now all you have to worry about for science is studying for the test, which it's not going to be too hard given it is going to be 20 multiple choice questions and a group lab experiment." She responded. "I think you will do fine." She assured. "Now, why don't we move on to the next subject?" She glanced at the other assignments. He nodded.
"Still am not liking this though." He told her.
"Well if we get most of your assignments done this weekend, I think it will be beneficial in helping you study for your tests. Plus helping you finish your final project for history and final essay for English." She explained.
"I know." He agreed.
"Let's do the hard one next. This one is probably going to take a while." She got the assignments.
"Oh no…not." He gulped.
"Math." She brought the papers before him. He smacked his head on the table, grunting. She had a sympathetic smile. "Don't worry, I'm here to help." She reassured. He glanced at her.
"I really hate this subject." He commented.
"It's okay." She said. "I know it's not everyone's favorite." She mentioned. "But you got this." He let out another sigh.
"Right…." He looked at the questions on the page, his brain already hurting.
Another few hours went by, Kendall helping him understand the graphs and formulas on the pages. He needed more cheetah chugs as time went on and as he continued to work with the subject matter. He didn't like it one bit, but he was trying his best with it. With her help, though, he was able to understand what formula went to which graph, how to graph them; he was able to comprehend the variables in the equations, and re-learned the formulas for triangles, their angles and other shapes. He was thankful for help, because he wouldn't have been able to focus or do this work without her.
When they finished he let out an exhausted sigh, Kendall going over the assignments to make sure the last assignment was done. She quickly re-checked them all to make sure the work was done correctly and that everything made sense. Kick, meanwhile stretched a bit since he had been sitting on the floor a bit.
"Well done Kick." She complimented. "Everything is done correctly and you worked really hard to finish your math." She beamed. He leaned back on his hands.
"Yeah…. My head hurts though." He commented.
"You only have a few more assignments from your other classes." She encouraged. "You're almost done."
"Thankfully." He spoke.
"Maybe next semester, don't get this behind." She suggested.
"I know." He had a small laugh. She gather his science and math assignments together, placing them in different folders, but putting them in one big folder that was marked as assignments. She was trying to keep things organized as she tidied up the table a little.
"Why don't we start on English next?" She asked. "It's just a few story summaries you have to write." She informed. "I think they have to be like a paragraph or two long, not huge." She got out the short stories he had to read. "And you don't have to read that many stories, just like, four, five if you want extra credit." She continued. "Pretty easy." She handed him the stories. They were short, between 10 to 20 pages each. He just breathed.
As he tried to read the first one, he found himself, having trouble concentrating. She noticed. He still had the headache from math, plus now had to read stories that at the moment required more concentration. She placed her hand over the page, which caused him to glance up.
"Something up?" He questioned.
"Maybe having so many academic materials back to back was a bit much, especially without a break." She commented. "Why don't we do the cooking stuff?" She had a small smile. "Or you can do your woodshop stuff?" She suggested. "Although, your woodshop teacher never sent me what you need to do…" She thought about it. He placed the stories on the table.
"Don't worry about woodshop." Kick replied. "One-eyed Jackson said all I have to do is make a vanity wardrobe for his wife, and I get an A for the semester. He's calling it an extra credit assignment that's worth more than the grade." He mentioned. "His wife gets a Christmas gift and you know I pass the class."
"I see." Kendall giggled.
"But a break does sound really good right now." He admitted.
"I'm sure." She nodded. "Plus doing the cooking assignments kills two birds with one stone." She smiled. "I left some recipes out for you to do since I think you have to do a cutting assignment, and then make two baked items." She informed.
"Thanks, plus I did tell my mom I would make her something for her and her book club." He confessed.
"Then why don't you go do that. I know for me, cooking and baking always relieve some stress." She commented. "Then when you're done we can get back to the English and History stuff." She told him.
"Right." He agreed, getting up and heading to the kitchen.
"Just don't blow up my kitchen." She giggled. He glanced back at her.
"You still can't get over that soufflé incident." He quirked. She got out her notebook as she proceeded to work on her laptop.
"Oh I can, I just hope your cooking and backing can." She pointed her pen at him, still smiling. He rolled his eyes
"Yeah, yeah." He chuckled. "What do you think I should make for the baked goods?" He asked
"Not your mom's chocolate chip cookies." She answered. "I don't want to deal with your dad's craziness." He laughed at that.
"Actually he doesn't get crazy about them anymore." He replied.
"What?" She was shocked. "Seriously?"
"Yeah." He responded as he got out a platter, the fruits, and veggies to start working on the cutting assignment to which he would make a fruit and veggie platter for his mom. "He's more into fudge and brownies now. That's kinda his new phase, or has been for the past few years." He explained.
"Interesting, how'd that happen? I thought he would always love your mom's cookies?" She placed her pen on her chin thinking about it, before going back to her notes and working on her laptop.
"Yeah well I think Brianna and I just got to good at hiding the cookies." Kick stated.
"How'd you hide them so well?" She inquired.
"Simple, when our mom gave them to us, don't open the container, and don't act suspicious." Kick informed. "If he never knew they were made, never knew where to find them and didn't know who hid them because we didn't act suspicious and we kept a level head, he gave up." He continued. "I think that made him want to find something new to love, which got him into the fudge and brownie phase."
"Wow. That's impressive." Kendall complimented. "Don't know why I never thought of that…although admittedly, your mom's cookies did smell and taste amazing." Kendall remember. "Couldn't help but open the container." She giggled.
"Yeah, that's were self-control and determination come in." Kick chuckled. "But trust me, we know, we all wanted them." He laughed. "Anyway should get to figuring out what to bake."
"Okay, let me know if you need help or don't know where anything is." She remarked.
"Got it." He replied. He started to concentrate on his cutting more, making the veggies and fruit in different shapes and ways. He made apple bunnies, pineapple grape flowers, sliced and julienned veggies, and other shaped fruits and veggies. When he placed those on the platter, he decided to move the platter to the table and clean up the counter space so he could start working on the baked items. She had already placed some mixing bowls out for him plus some recipes. It was pretty easy to find the baking stuff. He decided to make the chocolate cake, seeing that might be easy, as well as making his mom's cookies. He also wanted to make a no-bake cheesecake, since he knew Kendall loved cheese cake. As he had all the ingredients out, he was able to make the batter for each and get the chocolate cake in the oven. As he prepped the spring pan with the cheesecake crust and had a tray of cookies ready, he knew he could place those in around the same time.
Once the chocolate cake timer went off and was done he set if off to cool, which he place the spring pan and trays of cookies in, setting a new timer. He cleaned up again, while he set the filling for the cheesecake aside, and started to make the frosting for the cake. He made a dark and white chocolate frosting, that when the cake was done cooling, he was able to swirl it around the cake. He made florets on top of it.
Before he started to frost the chocolate cake though, he brought out the spring pan as that timer went off, letting it cool for a few minutes before placing the cheesecake filing in and placing it in the fridge. When he brought out the cookies to cool, he separated them, so a smaller batch stay behind for him and Kendall while a bigger batch go to his mom's book club.
He finished baking and cleaned up the kitchen, putting things away so Kendall wouldn't have to worry about anything. He even texted his mother about the stuff so she know about stuff. He didn't realize it but baking really did take some stress away. He made sure he had all the pictures for the assignments, with him in it, of the products and a few of the process.
"Kends, I finished the cooking…" He walked out, a little bit surprised when he saw she was asleep, her notebook under her arms. He walked over to her, kneeling down by her, a small smile on his lips. "You shouldn't overdo it you know..." He placed a few of hair behind her ear. "Even geniuses need a break." He whispered, still playing with her hair. 'She really is just too cute…' He chuckled to himself. He picked her up, placing her on the coach, then covering her with the throw blanket so she wouldn't get cold. "Get some rest, genius." He move some strands of hair from her face, before going back to the kitchen.

She woke up to something soft and warm on her lips. If anything she could almost recognize that warmth. Her eyes refocusing and heart racing the second she realized who it was. She yelped in surprise, gasping when she scooted back against the cushion. Her fingers going to her lips. He chuckled at her response.
"Guess it is true." He smirked. "A kiss really does wake up sleeping beauty." She blushed at that reference, even more at the fact that he's referring to himself as her prince charming.
"What…why….did you…." Words weren't forming, if anything her heart was so loud, this, this didn't feel real. Her face felt hot, her mind felt fogged, and all she could think about is what he just did. "You just…" She was at a complete lost. He lifted himself up to her level, closing the space between, which made her even more nervous. Her breath was caught in her throat, she didn't know what to think anymore. He leaned forward, grabbing the hand that was on her lips.
"I know." He spoke, almost deviously. His stare seeming to see right through her, and when he let his lips trace over her fingers she thought she pass out. That glint in his eye said this was just the beginning, as his tongue also played a dangerous game over her fingers. She couldn't breathe. She couldn't think. When he was done with this simple teasing, he had his other hand on her chin, letting his thumb slowly linger up, tracing her lips and part them slightly. "And I think…" He was closer again, a mere few inches. "I might do it again." She let her eyes close as he pressed his lips to hers. She couldn't believe this was happening. She gladly sank into him, her mind gone as he claimed her. He had her on her back his hand running down.
She knew this didn't feel real. This was amazing though. And she really didn't want it to end. Her hands were on his chest and her body just wanted to naturally melt into him. He was passionate. He would get her caught up in something that she just didn't know because he was a forbidden fruit. And she didn't mind it. She was getting lost in his embrace, and she really loved it. She loved him.
"I want you Kends…more than you'll ever know…" He whispered in her ear as she felt his lips on her neck. They lingered up before they took her breath away again. Her mind was getting more clouded as things were getting more and more heated. Her eyes closing, enjoying the passion.
Her eyes fluttered open, to which she woke up slightly confused until she realized something hard was underneath her head, and what exactly it was. Or rather who it was. She glanced up, her cheeks reddening, and almost letting out a squeak. Kick glanced down, his history assignment book in hand.
"Sleep well sleeping beauty?" He asked. She blushed harder when she heard that. 'Did he…he just…' She screamed in her head. 'I was dreaming….right!?' She got up a bit quickly. He quirked an eyebrow at her. She then saw he was doing his history work.
"Oh no, I was supposed to be helping you with your work." She looked worried. "Not sleeping. I'm sorry."
"Don't worry about it Kends." He told her. "Besides even you need to rest, don't you?" He reasoned.
"Yes, but I'm your tutor, I'm supposed to be helping you." She responded.
"It's okay." He assured. "Besides, after I did the cooking stuff, I was able to actually focus on reading the short stories and write those summaries." He mentioned. "You were right cooking really does relieve stress." He laughed. "As for this history assignments, not too sure if I'm liking it, but I just have a few assignments in the workbook so I thought I try it." He added. "Plus I figured you need rest too Kends. You been helping, getting back into things, did the gym stuff, plus settling with other stuff in your life, you needed the rest." He commented. She had a small smile.
"I still am supposed to be helping you, but I'm you glad you got the cooking and English stuff done." She spoke. "How about I check your summaries and if you need help with the history stuff you let me know?"
"Sounds good." He nodded. He handed her his laptop so she could go over his summaries. "Also my mom said she would send over dinner if you wanted, in case you didn't want to cook." He offered.
"You know I can always go for your mom's cooking." She giggled. "What did you make for her anyway?" She looked over the summaries, quickly reading through them.
"I made the veggie, fruit platter." He got out his phone, showing her, as she multitasked. "Then I baked my mom's chocolate chip cookies and a chocolate cake with dark and white chocolate frosting." He continued. "I gave them that stuff but I also did a no-bake cheesecake, a small one, but thought some of the cookies and the cake we can have for dessert later." He suggested.
"That sounds amazing." She was delighted. "And your fruit shapes are so cute." She loved the pictures. He chuckled.
"Mom said the same thing. Also said her book club is going to love it." He added.
"Wait your mom didn't see me asleep did she?" The thought suddenly occurring to her.
"Don't worry she knows everything like I do, and knows you need rest just like I do." Kick explained. "She will not be mad because you are going to rest for a few hours." Kendall felt a bit relieved. She finished checking the summaries.
"Anyway the last assignments you need to do is your history." She said. "Then you just need to study, do your history project and finish your essay."
"Kends I would never have done this without you." He told her. "I really owe you."
"You don't owe me anything." She assured. "Just don't get behind like this again, okay." She glanced. He let out a breath.
"Right." He nodded.
"How's the history?" She questioned.
"Another subject I really hate." He admitted.
"You know I don't get why you and Loraina don't like History." She had a small laugh.
"Reasons, trust me." He glanced away.
"Well just like math, let's just get it done okay." She encouraged.
"Okay." He agreed. "Then after I'll text my mom and we can eat."
"I like the sound of that." She giggled. She helped with the last few assignments, which weren't that bad, but Kick still didn't like doing them. Once they were done, he helped put everything away neatly. He also texted his mom to send over the food. Within a few minutes a knock came at the door and Brianna was there with the food. Kick had a questioning look aimed at his sister, as he knew her too well.
"Mom's still at her book club, chill." She responded. "Although anything interesting happen?" She had a sly expression. He rolled his eyes. 'No.' He thought. 'Been alone all day and you still can't tell her you like her…you're hopeless.' She retorted in her thoughts
"Oh Brianna." Kendall came up to the door as she had finished putting things away.
"Hey Kends." Brianna smiled, walking in with the food.
"Wanna stay and eat?" Kendall questioned. "Kick finished all his assignments." She smiled.
"Really, wow you two must have been working really hard today." Brianna complimented.
"Actually Kick was." Kendall corrected. "But you can stay, granted I think Kick could also use some relaxation now. Watch a movie or something." She added. Brianna glanced at her brother. He shrugged.
"That's fine." She agreed. "Could go for some dinner and a movie." She sat down as she helped place the food on the table.
"Plus Kick made dessert that we can have for later." Kendall mentioned.
"My sounds like quite the little night he had set up." Brianna giggle. Kick rolled his eyes. 'Shut up Brianna, it was not like that.' He commented in his thoughts. 'Oh but it could have been…jeez….' She rolled her eyes as well. Kendall cheeks reddened.
"Well, I'm sure he was just thinking about getting his assignments done is all…" She spoke. 'Calm down heart, calm down…' She thought. "Anyway let's enjoy the rest of the night." The three enjoyed the rest of the night, eating and laughing as they watched a few comedies. Kick and Brianna staying the night at Kendall's as they all fell asleep.
To be continued…
Wow chapter 60! Made it this far huh? Well I guess I have to first say thank you for keeping up if you are, and have to make a few announcements as I kind of haven't been saying anything.
Okay a few chapters ago I made an announcement about not wanting reviews, or rather me saying I just won't be placing the typical "please R&R" stuff on my chapters. I am sticking by that because I am writing for myself. If you like my stuff, that's great, and if you don't that really doesn't concern me anymore. I am not here to please others. And really you shouldn't be in that kind of mentality either.
Second my stories tackle really hard shit. I tackle assault, I tackle women's issues, I tackle mental illness, abuse, and other tough issue. THIS STORY WILL NEVER BE FOR THE FEIGHT OF HEART. I tackle things that people don't want to discuss. And if you do not want to read that, do not want to discuss that, do not like these topics, then please find something else to read. BECAUSE I WILL NEVER CHANGE, I WILL NOT SHUT UP, AND I WILL NOT FIND THESE TOPICS UNIMPORTANT. If you are so disturbed by these topics -which yes I can understand some people do not want to be reminded of their past, or just don't want to read about these kinds of situations, it is completely understandable (However, to think this doesn't happen to people, to believe that abuse is "a women's mind game" or "unrealistic" because "she asks for it- is insulting, and I think you should not be reading this until you educate yourself about the real world) then please do not read this and find something more to your liking and "realm" or "mindset" we'll call it.
I understand that you don't want to read this if you don't understand these topics, but there are others who do. Not to mention these topics are discussed in many ways from TV shows, movies, books and more, so if this is not what you want, then please find something else, as people are tired of being told these things are "taboo." Plus as I said, especially in a previous AN, if this is not for you, whether that be the rating, the genre, the topics, or whatever, then find something that you do like and read that. Other than that, please stop pming me about these things and go find those stories that you do like.
Also as for my Twitter presence. I am happy to hear that people have heard about me there, and that is why you found my stories. However, please don't suddenly be offended by my stories. Things will be changing, and again, if that is hard to believe, hard to accept, maybe that means you need to reevaluate yourself, and re-educate. Just a thought.
Something else I must address is that with these topics addressed, there is one in particular, that is majorly addressed in the pms and also in the reviews. And it actually is bothersome to me, because I am not trying to take it personally but I am just going to leave this topic out there for people to understand. Blood doesn't make someone your family. I keep getting things about Kendall being young, and the fact she won't know how to take of herself, she's an orphan, etc. So I am going to make this clear, right now. Kendall may be 16, but in certain countries, even certain states, at 16, even at 15, there are kids who are raising families, who are doing a hell of lot, with their parents going in and out of prison, some on drugs, while they raise little brothers and sisters, and they are working a job or two, while going to school, so I am not trying to be rude, but I am getting really sick of these pms and reviews, of how Kends is alone. She needs to have a family adopt her, she needs to do this, needs to that, etc. When in reality, there isn't some magical unicorn fairy for some kids who file for emancipation. Now I may have helped Kendall out, given in the will her mom left her stuff to live comfortably, and she does have Linnie. And have tried to make it clear her friends are right now her new family, but I think what really is bothersome is so many people can't seem to grasp that in reality, there are alone, 15, 16, 17 year olds who only have friends and siblings as their family. And I don't know how to make it clearer, that this topic is important too.
Not everyone is blessed to have a two parent or even one parent households. Sometimes it's our siblings and friends that make up our family.
Anyway I thought I just say that as this is a topic brought up, and no one is yet grasping it.
The last topic I bring up as there were a few pms about this, and I am just going to say this, I will never excuse abuse. NEVER. There is never an excuse for it. There is, though, reasons why people part take in it, whether this is to have power over the other, manipulation, or sadly an influence of some type- mostly substance like drug or alcohol. AGAIN THOUGH THIS NEVER EXCUSES IT! I understand people are upset that I didn't charge Ronaldo that he should have got what was coming to him. However, I wanted to develop his character. Now, again as I keep saying, and as I said abuse is never okay, and there is no excuse for it. I based Ronaldo on my friend's ex. Long story short, he went from being sober to sadly going back into drugs and abused her. (Yes my friend is okay, and a little over five years later they went back to being just friends) However, my point is when he became sober again, he regretted everything he did to her, and got on his hands and knees begging for forgiveness. The guilt and shame tormented him though. My friend did forgive him later, not then, but it took a lot.
What I am saying here, is when there is a strong influence, sadly people will do anything. Ronaldo, as I am developing his character, is one of those characters, who is influenced. But again I must keep reiterating this, ABUSE IS STILL NEVER OKAY! EVER! Kendall didn't forgive Ronaldo, she knows it torments him, but she hasn't forgiven him. But she also knew he was just another victim of her father, if that makes sense? It's a sad cycle, but I hope you are understanding.
Okay. I think I covered everything. Thank you for reading and hope to see you soon, also Lereda will be back soon.
Bye.
Please keep safe.
