Cedric is certain of many things in life.

He likes eclairs.

He isn't particularly fond of carrots.

He likes to think that the professors in his life are relatively competent, or at the very least not set to harm anyone in their care. But, as he watches Percy Weasley swings at Professor Lockhart, whilst Ron and Harry dive at his neck and knees respectively, he finds that his thinking was just a tiny bit flawed. Taking a thick copy of one of Lockhart's own books, Cedric uses all his strength to smack him in the back of his head. Once. Twice. Until he seems unconscious, and then for good measure Steve gives him a stunner straight to his stupid and now bruised face.

Both Percy and Ron and puffing and huffing like a train, their faces deadly and serious.

Honestly, Cedric is with them, his anger so great that he feels his hands shaking.

"Welp," said Steve, voice hard, "Who knows the spell to tie someone up? Because I wouldn't put it past this fucker from trying to do something the second he wakes up. He's attacked every single person he stole his books from, and he was just going to let Ginny die."

Percy is already moving, and thick ropes surround Lockhart. He throws a simple petrification spell for good measure. Cedric is tempted to hit the man again.

"We need to get to a Professor," said Percy, voice trembling.

"Lot good they did us the first time around," countered Ron, voice thick, "We need to find Ginny."

"Ron we don't even know where the Chamber is!"

"I think I know where the Chambers is," said Harry, abruptly, emerald eyes wide.

Everyone turned to him. His eyes were looking towards the parchment in Cedric's pocket, still tucked in the front pocket of his robe.

"The basilisk is moving around in the pipes. It attacked fifty years ago, and who do we know died fifty years ago?"

Cedric blinked, confused, as Ron let out a swear.

"Are you telling me the Chamber of Secrets is in the girl's second-floor bathroom?!" screeched Ron.

Steve just started laughing, a tinge of hysteria in his voice.

"Slytherin is never going to live this down."
