The penultimate chapter for this part, and we finally reveal something interesting about that book that Honami's spent three years trying to find out how to obtain. Disclaimer: I don't own Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, or Danganronpa.

Jojolion Chapter 47: We Have Tomorrow

As soon as the group entered the first part of the tower, Hajime felt Dragonforce fade. "What's going on? I can't access my Stand." "It's part of an experimental inhibitor field designed by Speedwagon to contain Stand using criminals," Josefumi explained, "Since our power comes from a virus, this field emits a sort of anti-virus, shutting down our powers until we leave the field's area of affect. However unlike viral pathogens the Stand virus is either perfectly lethal or perfectly integrates into a host's system, meaning the anti-virus can only affect it while we're inside the field."

"And the same will hold true for Honami until she leaves the field," Kyoko realized. Yasuho nodded. "It's the first part of the final test. We need to sneak by sentry turrets fielding BB guns." "You mean those robots Honami created," Kaede said as she pointed to the robotic bears from the surface. "Monokumas?," Shuichi said in shock, "There are dozens of them." "Is that what they're called?," Makoto asked. "They were in my old world," Shuichi clarified, "Monokuma was basically the mascot of the Danganronpa franchise."

"Honami must have directed them into the testing area using Rebel Yell's power," Chiaki noted, "She took one step inside and realized that her power couldn't work. Then she figured the same would hold true for any other Stand user, and stepped out long enough to direct her demented teddy bear army inside." Sneaking through the area was no easy task. Apparently Honami had put the Monokumas on a programming loop to search as thoroughly as possible. But there were still gaps in the search pattern, so while it was tough, the team was able to make it through.

Up on the second testing floor, the group found themselves outside the field's range, letting them access their Stands again. However, so did Honami, who was using Hungry For Another One's power to tear through the sentries in an obstacle course where subjects had to find a series of keys. She was a little surprised to see the group following her. "Well well. I expected someone to find me inside here, but not this early. Heck of a buzzkill, that inhibitor field. I recognized it the second I walked inside. Most Stand users would be able to breeze through it, since despite relying on their Stands for fighting they still have to know how to move around. So I decided to put the test on hard mode."

She grabbed the remains of one of the sentries. "The added strength from Banica's Stand is quite useful for things other than grabbing something to eat." She flung the turret at the group. "Pac-Man Fever!" Chiaki manifested Mega Man's Mega Buster and fired a charged shot to destroy the remains of the turret before it reached them. However, this gave Honami time to leave the test area. "She must have already gotten all the keys," Yasuho realized. "No need to worry," Kyoko said, "The area's already reset, and my In Sync can already see where each of the keys are. We'll track her down."

The next area was all about platforming, but all the platforms had Monokumas stationed on them, constantly warping to the top as the platforms dipped into the recycler at the bottom. "Honami's using Viva La Vida to teleport them," Kyoko realized. "She's trying to make it as hard as possible for us to get through," Hajime realized, "I'll try and blaze us a path. Follow along carefully." He engaged Dragonforce and took to the sky, blasting the Monokumas as he flew while the others carefully hopped across the platforms.

Honami was waiting at the far end, using her powers to bring in more Monokuma units to attack. But being just robots, they weren't much of a match for the experienced Stand users. Shuichi had really been practicing his Stand and how to properly use it, and he was firing off several red energy shots to deal with the long-range attackers. Finally, Honami realized they were getting too close for comfort, and hurried through the gate into the next part of the tower. "She's still climbing ahead of us," Kaede said. "We'll catch up," Yasuho assured her, "There's only one way up the tower, and Honami will be waiting at the job just to gloat to us."

During the next test, a narrow tunnel full of laser grids that had to be bypassed, it was clear Honami was still trying to delay the group, using nightmares pulled from the people of the city. Clearly, Honami had been using Never Wake Again's power to put the citizens asleep long enough to grab reinforcements. "Still they keep coming," Honami mused, "I knew they'd be persistent, but this is getting infuriating. All I had studied about them is amounting to less than nothing. Still, I can't be too far from the end. I'll just use a bit of their power in order to keep climbing."

Naturally, Honami was talking about using Tailor Swift. She had already seen the group and what they could do, and now with her own Stand giving her the powers of her former slaves, she could use that power as her own. Stitching the powers together, she used the flying ability of Dragonforce to move across the platforms. "This seems to be a power core with several data points that can lead to the next area." She looked at the sheer walls and smirked. "I'll just use Chiaki's power to climb them. It's a good thing me and Mahiru played Splatoon together."

Manifesting an Ink Shot from said game, she splattered her way up the wall. One by one she started unlocking the various points until she was able to access the center of the core, which allowed her to open the gate to the next area. However, she noticed the Jojo group coming into the area just as she was about to leave it. "It's like they enjoy hounding me at every step. Well, I'll deal with them once I finally have the book. With the power it has, I'm certain I can deal with them without issue." She smiled as she moved into the next area.

The next stage was probably the hardest for Honami. Normally Tried and Convicted couldn't work on inanimate objects like the sentry turrets, since they had no concept of guilt or innocence. However, Honami was able to improvise and used Tailor Swift to stitch on the imperfect version, which allowed the flames to unleash at full power. Which was good, since the idea behind the sixth test area was taking the core from the previous room and getting it plugged into an elevator leading to the final area where the book was supposed to be. A simple job, and ultimately Honami made it to the end.

The final obstacle at the top was a simple case containing the book. "There it is," Honami said, "I should thank Nemesis for being able to unleash her true power. The normal, immature version of One Step Closer could never break this thing open." She sprouted a few extra arms and smashed the case open. She laughed. "In the end, they couldn't stop me from reading it. Now I can... What...?" As she flipped through the pages, she was shocked. There were no instructions, just a bunch of files on certain powers that belonged to people throughout history.

"The book really is world-changing, isn't it?," Josefumi said as he and his team approached, "Who would have thought the greatest world leaders, inventors, and other important people were Stand users? People like George Washington, Ieyasu Tokugawa, Genghis Khan, Thomas Edison, Winston Churchill. If the people knew this, it would paint history in a whole new light. That is the power... Of The Book of Love, the real name of that Stand." Honami gasped as she dropped the book. "A Stand? This book is a Stand?"

"Truth is I knew all along," Josefumi admitted, "During my last year at Hope's Peak Academy, my friends and I took these tests just to see if we could. When we got to the top and read the book, we were stunned. But it really made sense. After all, Aleister Crowley himself was a magician. We know what he said the book was for, but he also said that he was refusing to do as the so-called voice was telling him. Meaning the book was never about controlling the world, but opening our perception of it." Honami just hung her head, before the chains of Seven Crimes and Punishments emerged and started lashing out against the group, causing them to scatter.

Kaede blasted a few of the chains with Clair de Lune, while Chiaki did the same using a combination of Samus Aran's arm cannon and Mega Man's Mega Buster, before doing a spin attack with the Master Sword. "She's gone off the deep end! Guys, we'll keep Kyoko and Yasuho safe here! Take Honami out before she brings down the whole tower!" Honami meanwhile, was both crying and laughing. The whole idea that her plans amounted to nothing in the end was humiliating in the worst way possible. Like no matter how much talent she was implanted with, it didn't matter because she couldn't change anything.

"All I wanted for a world for me and Mahiru alone," she muttered, "And just when I think I've found it, it turns out I was deceived. Not by anyone around me, but by my own perceptions. But if I can't have our perfect world... Then there's nothing left for me. Nothing has meaning anymore... I'll end it all... Starting with Hope's Peak Academy! Seven Crimes and Punishments!" She became a whirling dervish of electrical lashes, stopped only when Hajime used his body to block one of the chains. "You know, I could have wound up in the same situation as you. And now I can see... I was better off not taking that deal and going on my own merit, rather than the merits off others. Dragonforce!"

Honami quickly slammed her hand into ground to pull up a metal shield to block the flames, only for Shuichi to smash through it. "Ashes Remain!" He was bearing a dark aura fueled by his Stand's physical form, and created energy claws to slash at Honami. Claws clashed with chains until Honami was able to break away, only to get blindsided as Makoto made his move using Ooda-Booga Boogie. "SORE SORE SORE SORE SORE SORE SORE SORE SORE SORE SORE SORE! Sore wa chigau yo!" Honami was thrown backward, slamming into the nearby wall.

Josefumi approached Honami. "My friends and family have worked hard to restore Hope's Peak Academy to a school where students can achieve their dreams and learn to lead others! I won't let the proud school I graduated from fall to some omnicidal maniac! If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do! Soft & Wet!" Honami tried to use the powers contained in her Stand to fight back, but Soft & Wet's bubbles removed them before she could have a chance. It then proceeded to completely pummel her. "ARA ARA ARA ARA ARA ARA ARA ARA ARA ARA ARA ARA ARA ARA ARA ARA!"

Overwhelmed, Honami slumped to the ground unconscious. The group looked over her. "Will she be okay?," Kaede asked. "Soft & Wet isn't physically powerful," Josefumi admitted, "It could knock her out, but compared to my dad she wasn't seriously injured." He picked up the book and placed it back on the pedestal. "We'll contact Speedwagon about her. They're setting up a prison for Stand using criminals, and I think we've just found its first occupant. After that... I believe graduation is just around the corner." Hajime and Chiaki looked at each other and smiled.

Yeah, bet you never saw that coming, huh? I actually had this in mind even before I chose Honami as the main villain of this part instead of Junko. So let's look at this new Stand, shall we?

The Book of Love (Song by The Monotones)
User: Aleister Crowley
Ability: Originally a blank book, this Stand gave Crowley full knowledge of any Stand user that had existed before him, and any that appeared during his life. He was able to impart this knowledge into the book using writing mediums, typically ink. In fact, the ink he used contained ore dust from the Cape York meteorite, allowing the book to remain even after Crowley's death and continue to write about each new Stand user that appeared. The book can only be properly read by a Stand user, and it will actively confuse anyone else who tries to break the code it uses to disguise its knowledge. The book can never be destroyed, nor can its writing.
