Author's Note:

So this took far longer than I'd hoped to be able to even start let alone finish, between college prep and my job my writing time is almost non-existent, which has stressed me to no end. I have 36 how weeks stacked with moving into dorms and new COVID procedures so I included a start date here (08/04/20) as a reference of how little time I had to get this done there will be an end date at the end note for comparison. All I can say is this is the end of Izuku's crusade, and it has been a pleasure writing for you all I hope to tie everything together in a nice bow.

Q1- How did Izuku help Mei and Jiro when both their fights were happening at the same time.

A- You'll have to wait and see.

Chapter Forty-five

The camera's that had been filming the funeral only moments before abandoned while they were still rolling had shown the viewers at home a rather horrifying scene of Carnage and his group attacking the event, and now they faced an empty stage and abandoned podium. The stations hadn't cut from these cameras because they like their viewers at home watched with baited breath for something, anything to clue them into the results of this attack. Then the blood red monster moved into view pushing the Vice Minister forward towards the podium. The man turned seeming to want to retaliate against the red being but a loud thump cut him of and he turned slowly like a poorly oiled machine and then visibly paled. Then a second Carnage moved into the frame who moved to stand next to the first Carnage. Both beings were identical in all ways, and stared down the Vice Minister until he slumped down and turned to face the cameras.

Seeming to have resigned himself to his fate the man spoke in a defeated voice, "many of you know who I am and who it is that stands behind me, but for those of you who are unaware, I am... was your Vice Minister, and this is Carnage." He made a vague gesture towards one of Japans more famous villains. My predecessor was supposed to be the one giving you this speech but due to his uncooperative nature I've been given his position as Prime Minister, and I'll be the one to inform you of the events that have happened today. My colleagues, meaning the other heads of state have been forcibly removed of their positions and Carnage has forced us to give him the access to our governments deterrent codes as well as access to our information databases and effective immediately he will be taking control of Japan through his forceful methods.

The largest reaction from the public was disbelief for to them it seemed like they'd been abandoned into the hands of a mad man, but that very same mad man moved the ex-Vice Minister out of his way as he moved behind the podium. The other Carnage moving behind him then both of them seemed to liquefy and rush together forming on Carnage behind the podium, staring directly into the cameras. "People of Japan I understand your fear and apprehension of me, you believe the lies the government has given you that I did what I did out of some sick enjoyment, well I'm here to tell you that's not true. I did what I had to, to gather people like myself to me, people who have suffered at the hands of the government bigots like this," he gestured to the ex-Vice Minister, "helped to create, run, and continue to allow the oppression of those they saw as less than themselves. The quirkless, those with weak quirks, and those with quirks that are seen as evil or dark, you are my brothers and sisters in the bondage of these views and I couldn't watch any longer as you were persecuted for being born."

A lavender haired boy sitting in front of the tv in his UA dorm stared as the person he thought was a monster started to sound more and more like himself. 'Carnage if you truly mean what you say I wouldn't be able to say you weren't some kind of hero to people like me' he thought as his hand clutched over his heart. More and more of the people whom Carnage had described began to echo the boy's sentiments as they continued to watch someone proclaim they no longer had to fear those around them.

"Many of you ask yourselves everyday, is there no way to make things better, is there no one who will fight for me? I'm here to do both those of you who are tired of living everyday hoping that just for today you could enjoy yourself, I'll welcome you help me fight for that future for all our brothers and sisters, and for those of you who couldn't bring yourselves to fight others we'll be there for you so the days when you find yourself pushed to the ground we'll help you to your feet and hold your head high. My friends today marks the era where we say enough to those few who look down from their ivory towers to day is the day where man, woman, and child who find themselves with dark, or weak quirks, or no quirk at all gets the chance to help use build our freedom. For those of you out there who did everything in your power to keep us down we tried to reason with you but our words fell on deaf ears, well the words of the unheard turn into revolution and you forced us to change the game you made us play. My brothers and sisters some of you may still fear me because you have not seen me, that changes now."

Japan watched holding its breath as Carnage turned into a swirling pool of what appeared to be blood, only to condense himself down into a young man between the ages of 17 and 18. "I want you all to remember this day you saw my face, and it is the one of a generation that won't be slaves to those who think themselves to be gods amongst men. I spent too long under the feet of others and I won't allow anyone else to feel the same way I had to, if you won't fight for yourself do so for your children and your grandchildren who may find themselves in the same situation I went through, help me end this tyranny."

A rock flew into the view of the screen as it streaked towards the stage, and the person who threw it moved into the front rows before the podium. The rock however never touched Carnage instead it struck the ex-Vice Minister in the temple knocking him to the ground. The man responsible spoke as more people moved onto the screen some holding rocks as well, "my quirk give me the ability to move tattoos around on my body, and I went through hell for having such a weak quirk, men like you never did anything to help me." Soon cries of agreement roared from the gathered people, people who had no need to fear Carnage for they were his brothers and sisters the children of suffering. Rocks flew from the crowd pelting the man before Carnage moved pulling him to his feet which cut the barrage short.

The man who had been hauled to his feet looked at Izuku hoping for salvation but found only coldness, he was thrown to the feet of the crowd before Japan heard the words that damned him. "The people decide your fate no man should be judge, jury, and executioner, Sic Semper Tyrannus" (A/N: Latin meaning thus always to tyrants). The crowd surged forward cutting the man from view and muffling his screams while Izuku addressed Japan one last time, "brothers and sisters these times may seem uncertain, but with your help I wish to change that, not as Carnage any longer but as Izuku. Together we'll remake Japan so all have a place at the table, as equals." with his piece said he turned to let the people digest what they heard and come to find the person seeking to even the scales.

Jiro had made her way to the back of the stage out of the camera's view next to her stood Mei and both watched in awe as Izuku finished his speech and made his way to them making a point to not return to his form as Carnage to drive his intentions home to Japan. As he stepped past them he shook his head signaling them that they couldn't talk here and to follow him, the two girls moved behind him neither one leaving his shadow. The sounds of the crowd melted behind them as they moved back to the cars of the ex-Heads of state which were now smoking wrecks guarded be the remaining droids.

Jiro finally broke their silence, "So Red how did you do that, where you split into two of you?"

Izuku looked over his shoulder to make sure they weren't being followed. "I kind of could always do that it's just hard to control and both parts of me are weaker than when we're together. I mean when I split parts of me off before I could always control them, and they gave me sensory input. So in theory my body isn't made of liquid my mind controls it's one massive hivemind liquid, all I had to do to make a copy was learn to split my attention between the two sets of input. That said I can't manage it for more than an hour before I start to lose sense of what's around me."

Jiro smirked at her boyfriend/fiancé which was still something she was getting used to, "leave it to you Red to to do the impossible and be in two places at once to pull off your plans."

Izuku smiled back at her, "did you expect anything else?"

Mei grinned like the cat that got the cream, "of course not! Now lets get home so we can see how things start to play out and so I can get my reward."

Jiro sighed and smiled knowingly at the pink haired girl, while Izuku who was still clueless smiled and pulled out his extra phone. "Hey Soei we need a pick up." The smiled vanished from Izuku's face as he listened, "bring us in now," he turned to the girls, "Jack's hurt bad we're moving back home now."

The jovial attitude from before vanished as Soei appeared in the alleyway and they moved back to see their injured friend.

The world held its breath as it watched Japan with intense care, everyone wanted to see how the powerful nation would handle this situation. To the shock of the world the nation's response wasn't one of military suppression to the new uprising, but one of the trodden upon stepping forward into the light, and they moved into the path that Carnage had opened for them. The uprising used Carnage as a rallying point as they gathered, but civilians weren't the only ones who marched in the name of change, police and soldiers who had taken their jobs to stop the oppression they faced. People from all over Japan stepped forward and only then was it made clear to the rest of the world how many people had been stepped on, when more than half of Japan stood together in the name of new order. As those without the aid of a powerful quirk were pulled down by the masses those with true power found themselves outcast by the people they used to lord over, in only a few months it was made clear how effective Carnage's plan had been. In all this time Carnage hadn't been seen as himself or as the boy who the public had discovered was called Izuku Midoriya since the day of his speech now the fate of Japan stood on rocky ground as the revolution waited for the voice of it's leader.

Sitting next to a bed Izuku sat staring at a shogi board as Jack who still sat in the bed due to his missing arm tried to find a way out of his current situation. His king was cornered by both of Izuku's bishops and one move from Izuku's gold general would seal his fate, finally realizing how futile it was Jack moved a pawn and allowed Izuku to go for the kill. "Checkmate," Izuku smiled as he moved to end the game, then the board began to shake and slowly vibrate to the floor spilling the pieces everywhere.

"Sorry Izuku looks like we had a few tremors," Jack replied cheekily with one hand on the table's leg.

In exasperated amusement Izuku just chuckled under his breath, soon a somber mood once more took the room, and Izuku was the one to finally break the new silence. "So how are you feeling?"

"After losing an arm? I've felt better."

"Well the good news is you can't look much worse."

"Thanks boss."

"Have you given it a second thought about getting you injury looked at once this is over?"

"I'm fine with my injury it's a badge of honor since now we've all given up something to create a new age." Noticing Izuku's confused expression Jack began to elaborate, you and Soei, gave up you normal lives, Jiro and Mei gave up their futures with UA, then you and Toga started this because of the abuse the two of you suffered at the hands of so many. Now I can say I gave my share to the cause, and as a soldier I can say I'm proud to have fought beside you guys."

"You know that you don't have to keep you injury to say you fought with us right."

"Izuku I served in the military for more than a few years and there were two kinds of soldiers who where looked down on the most, those who had their scars on their backs and those who had no scars at all, I'll keep my scars as proof of my honor." (A/N: My grandfather who served in Vietnam was the one who told me that, and I ended up basing some of Jack's personality off of my grandfather as a bit of a tribute to my grandfather whom I respect, the things that were based off of my grandfather was his sense of honor, and his caring attitude to those he saw as his family, as well as his bravery). He smirked as he touched the stump where his arm once was, "besides any injury I take is one, that a member of my family won't have too."

Izuku smiled softly before standing, "Your a good man, I'm glad I can call you family."

As he turned to leave Jack called out to him again, "today's the day isn't it? You've made your point to the world that the downtrodden can be powerful under one banner, so your going to take charge now aren't you."

"Yes I am, and when your feeling up too it I want to make sure your a part of it." Seeing Jack nod solemnly Izuku stepped through the doorway closing it behind him.

The stage had been set and Izuku let out the announcement of his next speech through a video where he sat at a simple table once more addressing the public in his human form, and he told them to find him outside the place where his quest began, otherwise known as Aldera Junior High. He signed off his video with a cryptic message "the end of any crusade is always a cleansing flame that purges the injustice it started fighting completely."

Izuku stood in front of his junior alma mater, he still had two hours before his speech was supposed to start and a crowd had already begun to form. 'I'm glad I had the girls wait in the car, I really can't promise this would go well.' Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, a smirk placed itself firmly on his face as he watched his old principal moving warily towards him. "Well if it isn't one of the people who helped bring about this new age."

"Midoriya this is madness, I know things were hard for you but that doesn't justify all of this. Please don't do something your going to regret." His nervous voice, paired with the sweat rolling off his face mad his appearance almost comical.

"Something I'll regret?" Izuku's voice was full of a smugness his former principal would have never thought possible from the once timid boy. "I think out of the two of us your the only one who's got regrets, you allowed the oppression of your students for things beyond their control, the sins of this institution will come to light today. On the other hand however I brought forth the wrongs inflicted upon the people you saw as too weak to stand up for themselves and pulled it all into the light. You caused or at least you did nothing to prevent needless suffering, and the pain I inflicted had a payoff to it." Izuku's voice took on a dangerous tone and the hatred in his eyes seemed to burn through the older man's soul.

He retreated a step under the younger man's gaze, a feeling as though Izuku had seen everything about him and none of it was up to his standards, which truly terrified him. "Izuku, please think about this, does the end truly justify the means..." The look of true disgust that shown on Izuku's face silenced the man.

"That was truly spoken like someone who's never had to live on the bottom of the totem pole, carrying the those who were placed above you by doing the things they believe themselves too good for. Someone who never felt the abuse of those who were merely born gifted." With that Izuku turned on his heels and began to climb the steps of the school till he reached the spot just before the doors, the crowd who gathered to hear his speech moved to the bottom of the steps so more people could see their rallying point.

"Everyone I know we're starting early, but I've been asked a question which I believe needs to be answered, do I think the methods I used are justified? Yes I do, we were placed under the feet of those who thought they were our betters, and they stood on our throats so they we couldn't call for help, thanks to my methods our voices can finally be heard." The cheer that moved through the crowd became deafening as those who once went unheard finally had their voice. Once the crowd quieted and stood waiting for him Izuku began his story. "Here we stand at the place that became the birth place of Carnage, when I was four years old I was told that I'd never develop a quirk I was diagnosed as quirkless, and from that moment forward I knew no compassion from those I had once called friends. I was beaten by my peers for being a freak, I was seen as less than human, my hopes and dreams no longer mattered because I wasn't like those who put themselves at the top of society. Schools like this one are a personal hell for anyone who found themselves in a situation like mine. The teachers do nothing to stop the other students because if they only show praise to their powerful students they may be able to further their lots in life, so once again the outcasts find themselves in a nightmare with no way out." The outrage that comes from a shared experience sounded out through the crowd as, their gazes full of hate fell to the school with memories of their own childhoods. "Many of you may want to destroy the things that remind you of your oppression I say we let them stand and change them, that way we remind ourselves to never fall down the path of those who were in charge." Izuku once again waited for the crowd to quiet before he continued. "I know you all want to hear my plans for the future and have since I made my announcement at All Might's funeral, so I'll give it to you straight. I plan to take over and remake Japan's government with your support, then once I finish I'll instill true democracy for our people. I'm planning to divide Japan into districts based off of population and each district will get three representatives, one for emitters, one for transformation users, and one for mutants. That way all people will get fair representation in our new nation."

Then a voice cut through the crowd, filled with skepticism "and how will we decide a leader or will you just fill that role?"

"I will act as a place holder until this system has been set in place and the first set of representatives have been put in place, then the people by majority not by their representatives will select a new leader and I will step aside."

"How can we be so sure you'll give up your power?"

Izuku smiled kindly to the crowd, "I'll I wanted to do before this was to save people with a smile, to make it so no one had to be afraid like I was, now I get to say I'm living out my dream there's no reason for me to cling to power I don't need. Besides my brothers and sisters, if there's one lesson you should take from my actions it's this, no tyrant no matter how strong they seem can triumph over a people united." The crowd roared in approval as Izuku bowed politely and moved to leave, knowing that after today he'd have the support to make a new Japan, a more balanced nation. He made his way through the crowd and to the vehicle parked on the other side of the street, when he opened the door he saw the smiling faces of three of the four people who always made him happy no matter his original mood. Toga sat in the passenger's seat rubbing the now very large baby bump, while sitting next to Mei who was in the driver's seat, and finally smirking at him as he sat next to her in the back was Jiro.

Before she started driving Mei turned her head to look back at the red haired boy. "So I think we can say that went well don't you think love?"

Izuku smiled back to the pinkette, "I thought so too love." Izuku smiled to himself still stunned that he could be so lucky to not just one person, but three people who loved him unconditionally, him the boy who was so sure he would die an outcast to society. He glanced at Mei again remembering like how she like his two other fiancés blindsided him with her feelings, 'looking back it seems so obvious am I really that dense?'

After arriving at their home the three frantically made their way to the make shift infirmary and tossed the door open with a bang. "Jack!" The man was lying in a bed with bandages wrapped around what was left of his arm, Toga was sitting in a char off to the side trying to direct Inko who had been giving Jack medical attention since Toga wasn't currently able too.

Jack looked over at the door weakly, "hey guys, I might have fucked up."

Inko glared at the retired soldier, "stop moving your gonna make things worse." Then she leveled her gaze on the three newcomers freezing them in their tracks, "your gonna need to leave so he doesn't do something stupid trying to look tough." Then Inko turned back to her work as Izuku, Mei and Jiro slipped back through the door.

"Hey wait guys don't leave me."

Izuku smiled sadly, "We'll pray for you Jack," and with that he shut the door. In the hall Shigaraki and Soei joined them.

Shigaraki slowly removed his hand mask, knowing just how much Izuku cared about his friends the slightly older lunatic decided to try and distract his red headed friend. "Hey Izuku."

"Yeah?"

"Last time you had to take a raincheck but, I think it's time for us to get that drink."

Izuku looked like he wanted to protest before sighing and allowing himself to be dragged away, and he smiled slightly realizing they weren't about to let him feel useless. They made their way down past they living room to the stairs that sat in a small alcove nearby that lead to the basement. When he joined Shigaraki practically forced them to have a bar installed in the basement and then proceeded to sleep downstairs so he could drink after losing his games, but now it found itself a new purpose comforting a guilty leader. The five stayed down there for hours talking about their lives, past experiences and the things that truly sold them on Izuku's cause, after more than half their stash had seemingly vanished.

"Hey... Soei... what was it that made... you want to help me?"

The usually quiet man had been careful to avoid getting drunk smirked at his boss who he'd seem drink not one but two bottles of whisky, then five beers, and a whole Crown Royal. "Honestly I never wanted a colorful life, I just wanted a life where I could get by with the people I cared for, but my quirk was always one that was seen as perfect for heroics. I never wanted to be a hero, and when people found out I was branded a failure, to them I was wasting my life. Day in and day out everyone looked down on me for my choices. I didn't have any friends because the ones I did have left to find someone who would climb the social ladder and they wanted someone to leach off of. I was always so alone, and I may have had the job I wanted but without people I cared for it was all so empty and meaningless. Then one night I was saved by what I first saw as a monster, and for the first time in a long time someone cared for me. In that moment I felt something I never had before a sense of comfort and belonging, I didn't want it to end so I stuck around, I lost my job but I found my family."

Izuku sat there quietly digesting what he'd been told before looking at Shigaraki, "Why did you decide to stay?"

"Honestly, for fun..." after seeing the looks of confusion on everyone's faces Shigaraki decided to elaborate. "I never had friends before, when I was in the League I had no one I could call a friend, they either wanted me to lead or were there to look after me. I didn't have anyone I was close to, then you came and it made me so uncomfortable. You weren't doing anything the others were, and then you shook my hand, you knew what my powers could do yet you weren't afraid. It was so new to me and I decided I hated how everyone else had been treating me, but friendship was something I could enjoy. Plus you killed All Might and I still owe you for that."

Izuku smiled at his teal haired friend before he felt a pair of arms wrap around him, "you never... hic... asked why I stayed." Mei who had drank two beers seemed like she'd downed more than twenty shots and could barley stand on her own, it was a miracle she still made sense, given how she looked.

Shigaraki leaned over to Jiro and Soei and whispered, "found our group's lightweight."

Izuku smiled and turned his head to look at Mei, "why did you decide to stay?"

"I wanted to make cool babies and you said I got to make anything I wanted."

Izuku's smile widened slightly, "I figured that was probably the reason."

Mei's smile changed to a confident smirk, "I know what I want to build next." Jiro watching out of the corner of her eye nearly chocked on her drink when she realized what was about to happen which grabbed both Soei and Shigaraki's attention.

"Oh and what's that Mei?"

"A relationship with you."

Now it was Izuku's turn to choke on his drink. "I'm sorry what?"

"You... said I could... ask for anything after I did my part." Mei's eyes now filled with hope fell on Izuku.

"Y-yeah I remember." The sudden conversation sobered Izuku up all at once.

"I-i want you to take me on a date." Izuku started to stutter before Mei grabbed his face, "you promised so you don't get a choice."

"A-alright," Izuku had no idea what else to say, and then Mei passed out knocking them both to the ground.

Izuku smiled on the now decidedly happy memory though Mei always complained about the next morning. "What's got you so happy Red?" Jiro smirked at the red haired boy.

Izuku casually reached out and lightly grabbed one of Jiro's jacks causing the punk rocker to let out a startled eep. Izuku brought the jack near his mouth and whispered into it, "you three make me happier every second I'm around you."

The jack was yanked from in-between his fingers and a closed fist slammed onto the top of his head with an amount of force that meant it was only for show. "You idiot don't do that, my jacks are sensitive."

Izuku gave Jiro an evil grin, "good to know."

Toga began to giggle before Mei turned her head "little hard to focus on the road with the show behind me."

"Sorry about that," even if he sounded apologetic everyone in the vehicle knew Izuku wasn't sorry for a second.

"So where are we going anyway?"

"Home for now but, tomorrow we'll be moving to the capital."

Toga smiled, "tomorrow we start making the new Japan you talked about when we met, that feels like so long ago."

"Yeah it does, but with the people's support we can finally make it a reality."

Jiro smiled and held out a fist for Izuku to bump, "here's to a Japan that'll be seeing more of you Red."
