Koala

"I'm freezing and you're warm," Tony pouted. "Hug me."

Steve rolled his eyes and threw a blanket at Tony. "Wrap that around you and get on the sofa, idiot."

"Fine. Be like that!" Tony sulked, though he did as he was told, wrapping the blanket around him as he sat down, tucking his legs up under it as well.

Steve came back a few minutes later, trying to balance a plate of cookies, a bag of chips and two glasses of milk in his hands.

Tony accepted one of the glasses and then frowned. "Why is it cold?"

Laughing, Steve shook his head. "Because you don't like warm milk and cookies, you pain in the ass."

"Oh. Yeah, that's true," Tony conceded as Steve sat down beside him. As soon as he'd relinquished the snacks from his hands and put his own milk on the little side table, he raised his arm for Tony to snuggle under.

"You're the best," Tony murmured, getting as close as he could, while untucking the blanket so he could throw it over Steve.

"Yes I am," Steve replied, relaxing back into the sofa. He grabbed the cookies and put the plate on his thigh. "Are you ready?"

"Uh huh. JARVIS, play Elf."

"Elf?"

"Oh yeah. This is going to blow your mind."

Steve snorted, but settled down to watch the movie anyway. As much as he'd enjoyed the more serious holiday movies Natasha had suggested, he knew better than to expect Tony to be little more than a child with his movie choices.

He was actually quite surprised it wasn't another animated one.

By the time the credits rolled, Tony was fast asleep pressed into Steve's side, his still half full glass held precariously in loose fingertips.

Steve smiled fondly.

So often, Tony had to be Tony Stark, and for a while, that was all Steve had seen. Over the months of living in the tower though, he'd been introduced to Tony, who was a koala when it came to affection, who was often too insecure to tell anyone when he needed comfort, and who was… just plain adorable.

Steve adored Tony, and he'd learned rather quickly that there was very little he wouldn't do for him.

If anyone asked Tony, the feeling would be entirely mutual.

Steve moved the glass carefully, and tucked Tony into his side even closer, before he closed his own eyes.

Tony wouldn't be moving for a while, so he might as well get a nap of his own. There was no telling what hijinks the genius would want to do when he was awake again.
