Chapter 62: Mess With A Vampire, You Get The Fangs
"I keep forgetting that Frostbite is a yeti," Ethan says.
"How could you possibly forget," Sarah asked, her eyebrow raised.
"Between always trying to get blood, mutant alligators, zombie puppies, a cheerleader witch, and that rouge siren, you try remembering every little thing," Ethan crossed his arms.
"You call Frostbite being a yeti a little thing," Erica asked, smirking.
"Compared to everything else in our lives, it most certainly is," Ethan argued.
The three were standing in the main hall of Dracula's castle back in Transylvania. Frostbite and his army of Far Frozen yeti came with them. The king of vampires, himself, then walked up to them.
"Are you three sure about these yeti," Dracula asked them. "Most ghosts don't take to kindly to us vampires because we are dead, like them, but we can still pass as human."
"Most of us can, anyway," Sarah countered. "Yourself and the shadow vampires are doomed to forever look inhuman."
Dracula glared at the dark-skinned girl, who just innocently twirled her hair in her hand.
"And here I thought that it was Erica that mostly pisses people off," Ethan snickered.
"And I enjoy doing it," Erica smirked. "Sarah, don't go taking my job."
Dracula just decided to ignore that.
"I'm still finding it hard to believe that Phantom and Gold Siren are so willing to go with a 'kill or be killed' plan," Dracula crosses his arms. "Gold Siren, after all, is the siren of pure heart."
"I think whatever mercy they had left in them was quite literally tortured out of them," Sarah says. "I'd have no mercy left either."
"Next time you see those boys, tell them the vampire community send them support," Dracula tells the trio. "As much support as we can for being with no souls."
"Truthfully, it actually could have been worse," Ethan said.
"What," Erica gasped. "Siren was hit by literal ectoranium sound waves. And should I even remind you about the circle of blood blossoms that nearly killed Phantom the rest of the way?"
"Things can always be worse," Ethan stated. "When we went to rescue them, we could have been forced to go through a set of traps straight out of the movie series 'Saw."
"He's, kind of, got a point there," Sarah shrugged.
"You've been spending too much time with him, his geekiness is rubbing off on you," Erica huffed.
"One, he's my boyfriend," Sarah says. "And two, what girl doesn't love a good horror movie so she can spend time with her man."
"And, i'm officially disturbed," Dracula shook his head. "Congratulations, girls. You managed to do the one thing nobody has been able to do in over a thousand years."
He walked away, and the three went over to see how Frostbite was doing with his army.
"Anything yet, Frostbite," Ethan asked the yeti chief.
"The Great Ones we're correct about the dangers of that organization," Frostbite says. "The vampire scouts have informed by warriors that there is a large number of them approaching the area."
"Seriously," Ethan complained. "How many of these agents are there? It's like they're literally coming out of a factory somewhere."
"We'll need every vampire and yeti we can get," Sarah said.
"If they get into the castle, we must protect the vampire's breath at all costs," Ethan reminded. "If any of those agents get to it, eternal night and vampires would then be ruled with an iron fist."
There was a sudden horn sound. It was the call of a battle's beginning. That their opponents were in view of the castle.
"And the fun is about to start," Erica evilly grinned, flaring her fangs.
Dracula stood in front of his throne. It got the attention of every vampire and yeti that was in the main hall.
"My fellow vampires and our yeti allies, the enemy approaches," he announced, making the group gasp, growl, and hiss. "We prepare to battle for the protection of our home, our friends, and our families. Ghosts and vampires may have been rivals in the past, but that is now behind us. We fight as one. For every mystic and ghost that they have harmed, we will now AVENGE THEM."
There was a collective of yells and screams as the two kinds raise their fists. They all started running around. The vampires all grabbed their sharpest daggers and sais. The Far Frozen citizens all pulled out their spears and ice swords. They all separated into different areas. Ethan, Sarah, Erica, and Frostbite were on the front lines in front of the castle. On either of their sides were their fellow vampires and yeti. More of their kinds were hidden in the castle or on the roof in case the agents got too close.
"Things are about to liven up in this dead forest," Sarah snickered.
"Until it fills with even more death," Erica reminded. "We're about to have one hell of a feast."
One by one, the vampires all disappeared into the shadows. The yeti all raised their spears, the tips shining with their ice core powers.
Out in the woods, Agent N was leading the charge.
"Everyone ready," he asked/yelled at the agents.
They raised their guns, but most of them froze. Agent N looked at his enforcers, then turned to see what they were all staring at. His own eyes went wide at the sight. Dozens of eyes were staring at them. They were all bloodthirsty eyes glowing red.
"Get ready to fire," Agents N ordered.
Before they could do anything, multiple streaks and blurs whisked around them. The agents started screaming and shooting in random directions, trying to hit the blurs. Bodies were dropping like flies. Every time someone looked, there was another agent that was on the ground, pale as a ghost, with two holes in their necks.
After a few more seconds of chaos, the blurs all stop. The agents found themselves surrounded by vampires. All of them had blood dripping from their fangs.
"Okay, the one I took a bite out of tasted like he ate nothing but liver and onions his whole life," Erica complained, making a disgusted face.
"Did you really believe that you could take on a colony of vampires," Sarah glared, the lot of them prowling around the agents. "We can move faster than you could ever even hope to."
"That doesn't mean we can't fight back," Agent N countered, getting out a walkie-talkie. "Turn on the high beams."
The vampires, for once, were caught by surprise as blazing light. The spotlight-like beams of light came from over the agent's heads. Wherever they hit on the vampires, their skin started smoking. They all backed away, out of the light.
"Modern vampires aren't as affected by the sun," Ethan says. "How is this possible?"
"Light hasn't affected us since that time that ancient Aztec sun priestess tried to bring forth the sun king," Sarah remembered.
"We magnified the effects of regular spotlights to have higher radiation than regular sunlight," Agent N boasted.
The spotlights moved, forcing the vampires to all move farther away. They all hissed at the agents. The conspiracy theorists aimed their guns at them. But a blast of blue energy came out of nowhere. It hit the ground at their feet. It instantly froze to ice, causing the agents to slip and fall. More energy blasts came, and from them grew an ice shield. The high beams bounced off of the mirror-like ice.
"I would thank you kindly, not to harm the Great One's friends," Frostbite says, holding his staff.
"I have never been so thankful for a yeti," Ethan said.
"Evasive maneuvers," Sarah yelled.
Vampires all sped away, avoiding being caught in the spotlights again.
"We have them on the rope," another agent shouted.
"After them," Agent N ordered.
As the agents advanced, they all ran into a clearing. But already in that clearing was a line of yeti. The battle continued as both sides started firing on each other. Vampires all over the place were dodging the spotlights as best as they could while they fought the agents. Took the phrase "fear of the spotlight" to a whole new level.
Sarah zipped past Frostbite, speeding through the dead forest. She had already knocked out four more agents and drained another.
"At this rate, none of us will have to drink for over a month," she mumbled.
But suddenly, she was struck down when a yellow blast got a lucky hit on her arm. Forced out of her super-speed, she rolled onto the ground and crashed into a fallen tree trunk. Looking up, there was Agent N holding a gun that had a different design than their anti-magic guns. The wound on her arm was smoking.
"Sun gun," the agent smirked. "Same as the high beams, but a lot more lethal to monsters like you. Maybe you'll be like a zombie, one shot in the head will finish you off."
He raised his gun, aiming it at her forehead. But a slight hiss caught his attention. Turning, he was met by one very pissed off vampire boyfriend. Vampire boyfriend, cliche much.
"Don't. Ever. Touch. Her," Ethan growled.
Agent N couldn't even think to raise his gun before Ethan was nose to nose with him. With a single movement of his hands, he snapped the psycho's neck. His body dropped to the ground with a "THUD." Ethan then helped Sarah up. Erica slid to a stop next to them.
"I know that this is all considered self-defense, but I will be the world's happiest vampire when we don't have to kill anymore," Sarah says.
"Somehow, I don't think this will end anytime soon," Erica told them. "But, at least, it looks like the yeti are having fun."
Looking at Frostbite, he was laughing as he saw a group of agents slid down a slid of ice screaming. All of them then crashed into a pile of snow and ice. If the ice doesn't do them in, the hyperthermia just might.
"Like cockroaches, the lot of them," Frostbite shook his head. "I can see why the Great Ones hate them so much."
"Those two, and the rest of the magical community," Sarah says, putting her hand on her hips.
"Any losses on our sides," Ethan asked, worried.
"None that I am aware of," Frostbite admitted.
No less than two seconds later, a splash was heard. Their heads shot in that direction. They saw multiple vampires melting. Another was vaporized right in front of them after being hit by a water balloon-like sphere.
"HOLY WATER," Ethan yelled. "SCATTER."
Vampires all over were now going full-on defensive. As sun gun blasts, holy water spheres, and high beams shot at them, they took dodging to a whole new level. Some would speed off, becoming blurs again. Others jumped into the air, flying away and looking like dark shooting stars in the sky. Others vanished into a 'POOF' of smoke and a bat then flew out of the smoke and away.
"This is gonna be a long battle," Frostbite growled, charging with his staff.
