Chapter 85 – Double Family Reunion

Raffina's POV

The rest of the day went by without any problems. And now we were walking down the hallway about to leave the school building.

"Wait, what? Harpy has a cousin?" Ally asked.

"Apparently." Ami said. "Her name is Roco Tamura and, like Harpy, is an angel."

"Wow. That's interesting."

"Arle, didn't you know Harpy had a cousin?" Lidelle asked her.

"Nope. Not at all. I thought Harpy was by herself the whole time."

"Hey! I wasn't alone!" Harpy said. "I had my mom, my dad, my older sister, my younger sister, my brother, my grandma, my grandpa, my aunt, my uncle, my pet birdy named Tweet, my second older half-sister who likes to dress up like a boy…"

"Uh…" We all took notice of the last family member Harpy had mentioned.

"Oh, and Roco." She finally finished.

"Harpy. Why are you now telling us you have such a big family?" Arle asked.

"Nobody asked."

Holy crap. Harpy gave a logical answer.

"I-I see…" Was all Arle was able to say.

"Hey, Arle. So, who was that girl you chased after during lunch?" Ami asked. "You both seemed to know each other."

"O-Oh, her…well…her name is Lala Casati. And, uh…she's from my world."

"Seriously?!" We all shouted in shock.

"ANOTHER one of your friends is here?!" Ami asked. "Geez, this hat…"

"Well, no. She's been here longer than that. 9 years, to be exact."

"9 years? Wait, how did she get here then if it wasn't because of Ami's hat or the Dimensional Mirror?" Ally asked.

"Well…" Arle went silent for a bit. "…you remember those Soul Rubies that brought me here and made Melody a Reborn Soul?"

"Yeah…" We all said.

"Lala has one. In fact, it was her ancestors that created them and scattered them everywhere."

"Woah…" Was all we said.

"Yeah…so, I'm gonna be hanging out with her for a while. You know…to catch up and stuff."

"We understand, Arle." Ami said. "Just don't be out too late. We got school tomorrow."

"Sure thing! See you guys later!" And with that, Arle ran off ahead of us to meet up with this Lala girl. There still isn't much that we know about her…other than the fact that Arle knows her and that she's in the same class as Chu, Klug, Raina, and Marvett. But like Ayumi said, it's probably best to let Arle handle this one.

Speaking of which…where is that dense clone of mine? I haven't seen her all day.

"Hey! Yoko!" We then suddenly saw Harpy's cousin Roco flying towards us at rapid speeds.

"Roco! Hey!"

And so, the two airheaded angels hugged each other in pure glee. Spinning around in a circle as they flew higher and higher. Until one of us had to pull them down.

"So…this is Roco?" Ally asked.

"Yep. Harpy's cousin." Ami said.

"Wait, I thought she hated being called Yoko. Why's she okay with it now?" Lidelle asked.

"Maybe family members are an exception." I said.

"Roco…" We heard a new voice. Then we saw that Ciel girl flying towards us. Mainly the two Tamuras.

"Oh hiya, Ciel. Sorry for leaving you. It's been so long since I've seen Yoko that I just got excited about seeing her again."

"But you saw her during lunch." I said.

"Still a long time, when you think about it."

"It really isn't…" I gained a sweatdrop.

"Sorry about my friend." Ciel said to us. "She's always like this."

"It's fine." Ami said. "We're already used to Harpy acting exactly like this."

"I see. Well, to get off on a better foot…my name is Ciel Neroni. Not only am I the Student Council Treasurer, but I'm also Roco's childhood friend."

"Her childhood friend?" The four of us asked.

"Yep, that's her!" Roco cheered as she hugged Ciel. "Ciel's my most tubular friend ever! We do everything together!"

"Huh…" We all said.

"Hey, Ciel…" I said. "…since you know both Harpy and Roco, do you know what tubular means? Harpy's been saying it ever since we've met her and none of us know what it means."

"Tubular? It's 80s slang. Used to describe something as "awesome" or "totally excellent"."

"Oh~…" Our minds were blown at that moment.

"So, that's what it means." Lidelle said.

"I never would've guessed it was slang from the 80s." Ally said.

"Me neither." Ami said.

"How the hell do any of you know 80s slang?" I asked.

Harpy and Roco looked at Ciel to give an answer. And all she said was:

"Let's just say…angels have been around longer than most people think."

"W…Woah…" Was all we said to that.

Mainly because…we didn't want to go any deeper than that.

That's too much lore for the first day of high school…

When we got outside, we saw the other waiting for us. But for me, three people were missing. And I was worried about two of them.

Seriously. Where the hell is Raina?

"Hey, guys." Ayumi said to us.

"Hey, Ayumi. Have you seen…" I was about to ask when…

*HONK* *HONK*

"Hey-O! Raffi! Check out my new Pimp-Mobile!"

"Pimp-Mobile?" Some of the others asked when Mom pulled up in a very expensive-looking white car with pink flames on the front and back.

"Mom! What the hell is this?!" I asked.

"Oh…my…GOD! That's the Wildfire Flyer!" Lidelle shouted with as much excitement as a fangirl seeing their male idol at a concert.

"Wait, Lidelle. You know what that car is?" Ally asked.

"Well, duh! Of course, I know what it is! It's an actual kart from Mario Kart!"

"Oh…"

"You don't say…" Both Ally and Ami said unamused.

"And what's that's supposed to mean?"

"Lidelle. I love you…but I honestly don't give a damn about Mario Kart."

"Me neither." Ami added.

"*gasp* How DARE you say such hurtful words?!"

"It's a boring racing game. There's nothing fun about it."

"But it's one of the best selling racing game series of all time!"

"Yeah…because it has Mario slapped across it." Amitie said.

"Hmph. I don't talk crap about Space Harrier or Chu Chu Rocket…two games that I think are nothing more than shovelware!"

"Oh, hell no!" Amitie shouted.

"No, you did NOT just say that!" Ally shouted.

"Oh, I did. And I stand by that, too."

And so…while Ami, Lidelle, and Ally continued to argue about video games, I went over to Mom's car to take a better look at it. It was really impressive. White leather seats, shiny white tires, and an 8-ball gear shift. The radio looked really expensive too. I was amazed at it all…

…But also suspicious.

"Mom, where did you get this thing? It looks expensive as hell. Even for our family."

"I bought it while I was doing…whatever it was that I was doing for 11 years. And it wasn't expensive, either."

"Really? How much did you pay for it?"

"112,826,599 Credits."

"WHAT?!" Everyone else shouted.

"That's expensive, Mom."

"Not at the time. This baby was going for 233,745,999 Credits just last week."

"Who pays that much for a CAR?!" Ayumi asked.

"A sick-as-hell badass like me. *giggle*"

"*sigh*" I facepalmed hard.

My mom is something else…

"Anyway, I've got three extra seats. You girls want a lift home? This baby can go up to 290 km/h in just seconds."

(180 mph)

"That's speeding, Auntie." Feli said.

"OOOOOH! Can I go with you guys?! Can I?! Can I?! Can I?! Can I?! Please?! Please?! Please?! PLEASE?!" Lidelle was begging on her knees at this point asking us for a ride home in Mom's car.

"Alright fine, Lidelle! Geez! Just get off the floor like that!" I yelled while trying to get her up.

"YES! This is the best day of my life!"

"Hey…" Ally got insulted.

"You wanna go, cousin?" Feli asked me.

"I would…but I'm still wondering where Raina is."

And then, right when I said that, I got a message on my phone. From Marvett, nonetheless.

""Hey, Raffina. Raina wanted to get ice cream with a new friend we made. So, she's going to be a little late. Don't worry, I'll walk her home. I know my way around this city. See you tomorrow." The hell? Raina made ANOTHER new friend?"

"Well, at least we know where she is." Feli said.

"True…"

"So. You coming or not?" Mom asked.

"*sigh* Why the hell not? See ya tomorrow, Ami."

"Bye, Raffi." Ami said as she came up and gave me a quick kiss on my lips.

"Steamy~…" Mom teased.

"Shut up and drive, Mom." I said. Not wanting to talk about my relationship with Amitie to her anymore.

I already suffered this morning and at lunch. I don't need to suffer on the way home, damnit.

Mom wasn't kidding when she said the car goes fast. We were speeding down the road passing up every other car in our way. I'm surprised we didn't get pulled over. Then again, I don't think the cops would be able to catch up to this thing.

"Woohoo! Hell yeah! This is awesome!" Lidelle kept yelling out of the car the entire ride to her house. And when we got there, she begged Mom to let her take a picture of it. Which she did.

"I-It's beautiful…I can't wait to show the Chat Room this! See ya, Raffina! See ya, Feli! Thanks again, Sara!" Lidelle cheered as she ran inside her house.

Chat Room? Who is she talking with?

"Your friend's really nice, girls. She's really peppy." Mom said to us.

"Yeah, well she wasn't normally like this. She used to be extremely shy." I said.

"Yeah. She would even stutter her sentences." Feli added.

"Wow. I see. Welp. Time to go home."

"Can you slow down this time, Mom? Primp doesn't have streets as big as Suzuran's." I said.

"*moan* Fine…"

"Thank you."

"…Killjoy."

"H-Hey!"

"Just kidding, sweetie~."

I started hearing Feli's soft laughter from behind my seat. And I turned around and flicked her in the head.

"Ow! That wasn't necessary!" She whined.

"Sure it was." I said with a smirk on my face. And of course, Feli got angry. But she got over it rather quickly.

When we got home, Feli went over to check on Bal while Mom and I went inside. In the dining room was Amira listening to her music as usual.

"I'm home." I said.

"Hey, little sis. How was your first day of high school?" Amira asked.

"It was…interesting. To say the least."

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Well…I kinda ran into someone today. Someone we know really well."

"Really? Who?"

"Hey-o! Amira!"

"M-Mom?! Oh, my God!" Amira got up from her chair and ran up to hug Mom as tight as she could. Which wasn't much, because she still had her phone in her hand.

"Hey there, Amira. You sure grew a lot. In more places than one." Mom then began staring at a certain spot of Amira. And she was able to notice, too.

"*giggle* Thanks, Mom. They have gotten really big. Doubt they'll get as big as yours, though."

"You still young, honey. You've got plenty of time. You and your sister will have tig 'ol bitties in no time!"

"Mom!" I shouted with a faint blush.

"Oh, grow up, little sis. It's bound to happen." Amira said to me.

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean we should talk about it!"

"Talk about what?" Feli asked as she came inside. Mom stared at her for a bit, then whispered something to Amira.

"Yeah, it is kinda sad." Amira said.

"What is?" Feli sounded pissed off. Having somewhat of a good idea on what (or, in this case, where) they were talking about.

"Nothing~." They both said in a sly tone. Feli then looked over at me.

"It's exactly what you think it is." I said.

"I see..."

"Killjoy." Amira said. To which, I kept my mouth shut. Too much in an annoyed mood to retort to both of their nonsense.

Which is now going to be a common thing in this house…

"I'm home." We now heard Lily's voice.

"In here, Lily." I said.

"Well, I see everyone's already here. Miss Raffina, Miss Amira, Miss Feli, Mistress Sara…"

"W-Wait! M-Mistress Sara?!" Lily shouted after rethinking what she just said.

"Hey, Lily. It's been a while, hasn't it?" Mom greeted.

"W-Well, yes. It has. Which begs me to ask…what are you doing back so suddenly?"

"She's a teacher." I said.

"At our school." Feli added.

"Huh?" Lily and Amira were confused.

"Yep. You're looking at the new 10th Grade English teacher of Suzuran High School." Mom said proudly.

"The English teacher?" We all asked.

"Well, it was my best subject in high school. So, I figured why the hell not."

"Wow…"

Damn, Mom. I didn't know you were serious at something.

"Well…good for you, Mistress Sara." Lily said. "And welcome home, too."

"Yeah! So much has happened since you left! I've got lots to tell you!" Amira cheered.

"Oh, yeah. That reminds me, Amira…why the hell did you tell Mom that I was dating Amitie?!" I shouted.

"You didn't tell her?"

"No, I didn't tell her!"

"Oh…"

"Hey, let's order a pizza to celebrate Mom's return." Amira finally said something.

"Don't avoid my question!" I shouted.

"That's a great idea, Amira. That way, Lily can get a break for once." Mom agreed.

"Uh…I do take breaks, Mistress Sara." Lily said with a sweatdrop.

"Well, now you take another one. So, it all works out."

"B-But…m-my question…" I said.

"Come on, everyone. Let's go pick out our toppings."

"Awesome!" Amira cheered as they both walked out of the dining room. Leaving us three still standing there.

"Well…your mother's back, Miss Raffina." Lily said.

"And it looks like she hasn't changed a bit." Feli said.

"I'm still deciding if that's a good or bad thing." I said with a facepalm.

A really LONG facepalm.

Author's Note: Minor changes were made here. Nothing much to say about it. I just wanted to upload something before I go back to work for a whole week. Which most likely means no updates next week. Like at all. I'm going to be too tired to write anything.

Thanks for reading. Later.
