I do not own RWBY or Transformers. They belong to their respective owners. Here's chapter 48. Enjoy.

Chapter 47: Airway Complications

"Next time I see Jaune, I am going to freeze him alive," Weiss groans inwardly as she and Dreadwing walk through the middle of the Atlas military base.

Cordovin and two of her guards escort them through the facility, while Dreadwing carries his armor (changed into a suitcase form for convenience and as part of the plan) along with Weiss suitcase. Behind them, Saphron walks with them, carrying Adrian in her arms.

"Oh, I am so glad that you've come to your senses and have decided to return home. Oh, to know that you'll be following in your older sister's footsteps brings me such joy. Oh, and I must apologize for being suspicious about your servant here. I didn't realize that he works for your family as both a manservant and a personal bodyguard," Cordovin says with glee.

"It's quite alright. We try to keep him out of the public eye to ensure that enemies of my family do not know that he is a bodyguard. The less they know, the better he can perform his duties to my family. After all, they'll be less suspicious of a servant than a warrior. Which is also why he has his armor in its compact form, for appearances," Weiss glances back at Dreadwing, who does his best to keep on a calm face. "Jaune was right. I don't like this plan at all."

The group approach an awaiting airship for their ride, "Well, you can rest assured that we'll be offering you the best we have for transportation. I'll also be providing you with two of my best soldiers to act as an escort. They'll make sure you don't have any trouble getting back home, even with the borders still closed. You can let General Ironwood know about that part," Cordovin winks at her.

"Yes, I'll be sure to do that," Weiss nods.

"This damn woman is taxing my patience. I wish to get Lady Weiss out of this Hell as soon as possible," Dreadwing watches the special operative, sure to keep his anger inward.

"Very well. I must return to my duties. I wish you a safe trip. Do give the General and your sister my regards," with that, Cordovin takes her leave.

After making sure she's far enough away, Weiss gives a subtle glance to Saphron, giving her the signal, before she turns and prepares to enter the airship with Dreadwing.

"Okay, just as we practiced," Saphron whispers to her son. Adrian then makes a loud, dramatic cry that reaches all across the base. "Oh no, he is going to miss you so much! You should probably go now before he gets really sad," she says dramatically.

"A crying child. We must tend to it!" the guards turn their focus to Adrian, giving Weiss and Dreadwing the chance they need to board the airship with their cases.

"You okay?" Weiss asks Dreadwing.

"I am adequate, Milady. As is our 'precious' cargo," Dreadwing puts the suitcases down.

"You're damn right I'm precious. I don't care if you're from another planet. You drop me, and I'll kick you straight back to whatever world you came from!" Maria's voices echoes within Weiss' suitcase.

Dreadwing lightly kicks it, "Be silent. We're on the airship now. Let's hope the rest of the plan goes just as smoothly. Miss Rose, we're on the airship. Please proceed as planned," Dreadwing contacts Ruby through his communicator.

Elsewhere, the rest of the group lay in wait at the cliffs outside the military base, just receiving Dreadwing and Weiss' signal to move on to the next phase of the plan.

"Alright, understood. Keep an eye on your scrolls," Ruby ends the calls. "Once we've seen that Weiss and Dreadwing's scroll signals are gone, that means they'll be out of range for both the tower and their radar. That we'll be our opportunity,"

"And that's when Yang, Blake, and Predaking will take down their radar systems. Then Weiss and Dreadwing will fly back to us, we'll board the airship, and then we fly to Atlas before Cordovin notices what's really going on," Megatron adds.

Where Yang is located with her group, they overhear the conversation, "We're clear on our end. We're almost at the drop off point,"

Yang is driving her motorcycle with Blake riding with her. Meanwhile, Predaking uses his semblance, having his body encased in his old predacon form in flames, running alongside them and keeping pace.

Blake is speaking with Terra on her scroll, "Okay, one, the radar box is separate from the rest of their comms equipment. As long as you disconnect it properly, it won't take out the communications systems for the rest of Argus. And two... this conversation never happened," Terra tells her.

"Don't worry. It's not the first time I've disabled Atlas security systems," Blake waves it off.

But it doesn't make Terra feel any better, "...Never. Happened," Terra then ends the call.

The trio eventually reach the drop off point. Blake gets off of Yang's ride, and Predaking disengages his semblance.

"Are you sure you don't want us with you Blake? We could be of use," Predaking asks.

Blake faces them, "I'm sure. A smaller group will make it harder for them to spot us. And besides, you two aren't exactly known for being subtle..." Blake then sees the deadpanned looks they are giving her. "I-I-I mean, you're good. It's fine,"

"Go. We'll be nearby if you need us," Predaking says. Blake nods and takes off through the forest as she makes her way to the relay tower. "Do you think she'll be okay?" Predaking worries.

"You've been with Blake. If there's one thing I know about her, it's that she knows how to take care of herself in a fight," Yang crosses her arms with a smirk.

"Indeed... Do you really think I don't know how to be subtle?" Predaking asks.

Yang gives him a flat stare, "Dude, have you looked in a mirror lately? You're practically big enough to be a truck with claws,"

Predaking grunts, "Tell me something, Yang Xiao Long. Why do you trust that monster?"

Yang knows exactly who he's talking about, "Megatron isn't like how he was back from where you're from. He's changed. What's more, he's done so much for me. He helped me get back into fighting shape, he cut off his own arm to understand how I felt when I lost mine. He saved me more than once since we've been travelling together. The Megatron you knew from back then is not the Megatron that exists now,"

"How do you know he's not manipulating you to satisfy his own ambitions?" Predaking asks.

"It's called taking a leap of faith. It's called trust. And I trust him. He could've kept his past a secret, but he told me about himself. Bit by bit, he told me his past, his mistakes, his failures, his fears. Long before Optimus Prime revealed the rest of the truth. He gave his trust to me. And I gave him my trust. It's the same for you and Blake. Even if you don't want to admit it," Yang explains.

Predaking growls a little bit, but ends the conversation there and looks on in the direction that Blake ran off to. Back with the others, Laserbeak flies back and lands on Soundwave's shoulder.

"No signs of the military mobilizing their forces. I think we're in the clear," Laserbeak says.

Megatron nods and looks on, "Please... Let this work," he mutters.

Back on the airship, Dreadwing and Weiss watch as their scrolls lose the signals of the others, showing they're now out of range. Taking that as their cue. Dreadwing takes his case and equips his armor. Once the armor is on, he and Weiss take out their swords.

The pilots look back, "Miss Schnee, what are you-," one pilot begins before Dreadwing swings his sword. There is some commotion within the airship, but a moment later, the two guards are thrown out of the airship, with one hooked up with a parachute while the other holds onto the first for dear life. "You will pay for your treacherous ways!"

Dreadwing glances back, "Was it alright to grant them a parachute?" as he walks up to the cockpit.

Weiss and Maria take the seats, "Yes. If they died, and Cordovin found out it was because of us, things might not go so well once we reach Atlas,"

"Alright, you two might want to hold on to something in case things get a little exciting," Maria says.

"Are you certain you can pilot this airship? I believe you said your eyes were in need of desperate repair," Dreadwing asks.

"Hah, don't underestimate Atlas technology, kid. Besides, I was the Grimm Reaper, remember," Maria takes off a device from her eyes and hooks it up to the airship's controls. The systems become synced to her eyes, allowing her to see everything she needs to pilot the airship. "See what I mean. Now, let's get to the others and get out of here," Maria steers the ship back to the cliffs to pick up the rest of the group.

Back with the group Soundwave checks to see that Weiss and Dreadwing's scroll signals have dropped to zero. He looks over to Ruby and nods for the signal.

Ruby nods back and calls up Blake, "Alright Blake, Weiss and Dreadwing are out of range. It's all on you now," but Blake doesn't respond, which concerns Ruby. "Blake... Blake do you read me? Yang, what's going on over there? I can't get in contact with Blake," Ruby calls her sister.

Yang and Predaking look towards the tower, "I'm... not sure," Yang says while Predaking grows a look of concern.

Megaron looks from the forest to the coast, "Why must it always be something," he mutters and looks to Soundwave. "Soundwave, send Laserbeak to scout ahead and check on Blake,"

Soundwave nods and Laserbeak flies into the air, heading for the relay tower. Back on the airship, everything appears to be going according to plan, until...

"Manta 5-1, this is the Argus base. Our radar shows that you have changed course and are circling back. What's your current status? Over," the Argus base calls out over comms.

This makes Weiss and the others almost freak, "Why can they still see us?" she quietly freaks.

"The radar was supposed to be down by now," Dreadwing whispers.

"Someone must've screwed up with their part of the plan. Don't worry, I've worked with Atlas military personnel before. I know their preferred forms of communications," Maria then pulls out a radio and calls them back. "Argus base, this is Manta 5-1, feel free to gaff off. Thought we were going to scrub due to FOD, but we're back up and green across the board. Over," Maria replies in their jargon before smirking at the pair.

"...That was most impressive," Dreadwing whispers, a little surprised that Maria knows how to speak like a soldier.

"...Manta 5-1, return to base immediately or you will be treated as hostile. Over," the base suddenly comes back, stunning them.

"...Or so I thought," Dreadwing shakes his head.

"I thought you said you knew their jargon!" Weiss retorts.

"The jargon was fine, but our pilots aren't elderly women," the base replies, overhearing them.

"Oops, got me there. I can't believe you guys actually let me do that. And here I thought it was my mind that was going off track," Maria says.

"...CALAVERA! If you think I wouldn't recognize your voice just because you used our military language, then you have another thing coming! You and those insolent children are up to something aren't you. I bet you have that one male on board with you. You really think you could sneak an Atlas fugitive past me through my base in one of my airship? If you come back now, I won't personally throw you in a cell for working with a criminal. If you don't return with my airship and the criminal this INSTANT, then I will take extreme pleasure in making an example out of all of you. I will show you the true might of the Atlesian military!" Cordovin exclaims. However, she hears what sounds like crunching sounds on the other end and is perturbed. "What the-,"

"You hear that, Cordo?" Maria replies while chewing on a bag full of cashews, smiling all the while. "That's the sound of me not caring! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Maria laughs like a maniac while Weiss and Dreadwing grow only more concerned.

Dreadwing contacts Ruby, "Miss Rose, we have a situation. Cordovin is on to our plan, and Miss Calavera is only making the situation worse. What is going on with the radar? Was Blake able to sabotage it?"

The group hear the commotion, and Megatron groans, "Of course, to wish for something as dangerous as this to go smoothly would be a child's dream. Have we been able to get in contact with Blake Belladonna?" he asks Ruby.

Ruby tries to contact Blake, "Blake? Blake, are you there? What's going on with your end? Are you okay? Blake!" when that fails, she tries her sister. "Yang, I still can't get in contact with Blake. Do you know what's going on?"

"I don't know, but I'll find out. Keep the ship running," Yang hops onto her motorcycle and floors it towards the relay tower, while Predaking uses his semblance to create his flame predacon form and runs alongside her.

"What if we tried to use the airship to get to Blake and Yang first?" Nora suggests.

"Dammit!" Qrow's sudden curse gets everyone's attention. "Cordo's gonna scramble her fighters. I figure we've got around 90 seconds before we'll have Atlas military swarming all over us. They'll surround Weiss and Dreadwing and force them to land or blow them out of the sky. Damn it all. This is all my fault,"

"What are you talking about? Is this about your semblance?" Jaune asks.

"Don't you see, every choice I've ever made has led me here, and now I've gone and dragged all of you down with , myself, Lionheart, everyone else; we're the ones responsible for making the world as screwed up as it is now. I shouldn't have dragged you all into this mess. Hell, even you alien kids; I shouldn't have dragged you all into this mess either, even if you're older than me and have fought in way more battles than I have. What the Hell was I thinking when I decided on all of this?!" Qrow blames himself for everything.

By this point, Megatron has had it, "Will you STOP WHINING?!" his outburst shocks Qrow. "Was it your choice that Dreadwing, Soundwave, Laserbeak, Predaking, and I came to this world? No, it was ours. Was it your choice for Ruby and her group to come to Haven, or for Yang to look for her sister? No, it was their choice. We've all been through trying times, but we can't just quit because things have gotten a little more difficult. Even if you hadn't shown up, we would've ended up here anyway. This isn't just about you, it's about all of us. I didn't come all this way just to quit. I owe it to everyone who have lost their lives because of my actions to keep fighting to the bitter end, and I don't intend to let this moment be that end. However, the only way we get through this is by working together; all of us. And that includes you, Qrow Branwen,"

Megatron's words stun the group, Qrow most of all.

Ruby walks up and takes Qrow's hand, "We're in this together. We can do this. But, we could sure use your help,"

Qrow grunts, but finally shows a small smile, "Since when did you grow up so fast?"

Ruby smiles back, "I had a lot of good role models,"

"Um, guys..." Weiss contacts them. "They're not sending fighters," she, Dreadwing, and Maria look on ahead of them.

They look off into the distance towards where the military base would be. The wall built into the large rock at the back of the base suddenly opens up, and the rock fall apart. Emerging from within is an incredibly large mech, with large, lumbering arms and legs, a wide torso with the cockpit inside the main body, and lacking a distinctive head on top. Replacing the right hand is a large cannon as its primary ranged weapon. And Cordovin is the one piloting it.

"Clearly the people have forgotten that they live in peace thanks to the awesome might of Atlas," Cordovin speaks over a microphone in the cockpit so everyone in the city can hear her.

"This just became much more of a problem," Dreadwing mutters.

"Allow me to remind you of your place," Cordovin says, pushing forth on the controls.

The mech raises its arm cannon, sections of it spinning before one piece pushes into the cannon itself and then it charges up its attack. It aims at Weiss and Reaper's airship before firing off a powerful electric shot that just grazes them, though it shorts out the controls for a second.

"Maria, are you alright?" Dreadwing asks.

Maria gets her eyes back under control, "I am, but that she-devil has officially gone nuts!" she replies as she flies away.

"And that was just a warning shot, Calavera. All Atlas personnel stand by and watch as your leader maintains the order of this city and shows these criminals who's in charge," Cordovin says.

The gang at the cliffs see their airship fly by, with Cordovin's mech hot on their tails.

"This might be the one time when I wished that I was still in my original form," Megatron notes.

Ruby thinks for a moment before contacting Weiss, "Weiss, I need you guys to hurry back here. We'll need you and Dreadwing on the ground if we're going to stop this thing," she says.

However, that's not the end of their problems as Laserbeak flies back in and lands on Soundwave's shoulder.

"Laserbeak, did you find Blake?" Megatron asks.

"I didn't get the chance to. We've got another problem here," Laserbeak replies.

"Oh, now what?" Qrow groans.

Just then, they hear a monstrous roar from the forest behind them. They look back to see none other than the ghoul of Skyquake's body marching towards them, roaring all the while.

Megatron groans, "Oh, now it's a party..."

And that's the chapter. Megatron and his friends enact their plan, but already thing aren't going so well, and now Skyquake's ghoul has shown up to add more fuel to the fire. What happened to Blake? Will they be able to stop both Cordovin and Skyquake's ghoul, and get to Atlas? Until then, please Read and Review.
