Chapter 48
Into the Farplane
We arrived at Bevelle and Amahy hugged Authion tightly.
"Behave yourself until I get back and listen to your father."
"Yes momma. I love you."
"And I love you too."
She kissed his forehead and then turned to me. I pulled her into my arms and she wrapped her arms around me.
"I love you so much." she said.
"I love you too, go save Spira. Then come home so we can have our life together."
"I will, I promise."
I kissed her hard and passionately. I held out my sword.
"Take this and give Shuyin a proper beating."
She laughed a bit and nodded. Her hand slid from mine as she walked away. I took a deep breath before picking up my son. He looked tired so I put him to bed.
Stop worrying! She'd never leave you! She'll come back!
But I still worried.
Amahy's POV
The fiends were tougher if possible and what was worse, more dark Aeons were waiting for us. Shiva, the three sisters and Anima. We had no choice but to fight and defeat them. After Anima was gone, the Fayth boy appeared.
"Yuna. I'm sorry. We weren't strong enough to stop him. We wanted to at least warn someone... but instead, we were dragged into the darkness. We're no better than fiends."
Like the kind and forgiving woman she was, Yuna told him it was alright.
"Forgive us."
I looked at the boy.
"What is he?" I asked.
Yuna looked at me.
"Shuyin."
She nodded and turned to the boy.
"Just a shadow. It may look like him, but the real Shuyin died long ago. Even after a thousand years, his hate and misery linger on. His feelings grew so strong they began to act on their own... Eventually, they became a shadow- a shade that wants only to vanish, but cannot." he told us.
In a way, I felt sorry for him. But not too sorry. Yuna looked thoughtful.
"Just a shadow... I can handle a shadow." she said with determination.
"Are you sure?"
She nodded.
"Yes, leave it to me."
The boy nodded and started to vanish.
"Wait!"
He came back and looked at me.
"Yuna, Rikku, Paine, go ahead."
They hesitated but did as I asked.
"I know what you want."
I arched my brow.
"Do you?"
"You want him back... for Yuna."
I nodded.
"I have Auron-"
"We know. We helped bring him back."
"What?"
He nodded.
"Your potion wasn't strong enough. So we gave him strength to come back."
"You don't know how grateful I am. But Yuna deserves to have Tidus back. After all she does for Spira, she should have someone by her side. And that can only be him. Please, bring him back to her."
"I can't promise much, but we'll try."
"That's all I ask. Thank you. We'll handle Shuyin."
He nodded and vanished.
When I caught up to my sister, Leblanc and her boys were there.
"Leblanc?"
She looked at me.
"Where's your strong man?"
"Home with our son."
"Why are you here?" Yuna asked.
"Because the boss never goes against Lord Nooj's wishes." Logos answered.
I smiled a bit.
"You found him?" Paine asked.
"As we was headin' in we found a sphere addressed to the boss." Ormi said.
"He said," she cleared her throat. "'Don't follow me. Turn back now and wait for my return'."
"Actually doing what you're told?" I asked.
"How novel." Paine added.
"What can I say? One look at Noojie-Woojie's dashing visage on the sphere and I was- oh- charmed. How could I say no to such a kyootzie-wootzie face?"
She looked at the portal.
"What if he-?"
"Don't worry. If he knows you're waiting, he has a reason to come home." Rikku said kindly.
She sighed.
"And wait I shall."
"And we'll tell him that you're waiting like a good girl." Rikku said.
"You do that, love. And don't forget to stress 'good girl'." she said.
I had to smile. As we walked forward I looked at her.
"If I don't come back, find Auron and Authion on Besaid Island. Please tell them I love them both more than anything, and that my last thoughts were of them."
She actually looked a little sad.
"I will... but don't you dare give up easily."
I chuckled.
"Believe me, I won't."
"Good luck, love."
I winked and we all went in.
