Chapter 63: Morgan LeFey's Kids Have Really Bad Tempers

"God Terminus, I pray to thee," Juliet chanted.

She reached out her hands, and a green force field bubble came out of them. The field spread over the area, going all the way to beyond the lake. It had surrounded Camelot.

"That aught to give us some extra time," Juliet says. "Terminus is the Roman god of barriers, so i'm hoping he was feeling generous when I cast that spell."

"Are there any gods that aren't temperamental," Ma'gann asked.

"Not really, no," the Camelot mages told her.

"The closest you could get is probably Hestia of the Greeks and Freya of the Norse," Mason says. "But even they have their limits when it comes to the stupidity of humanity."

"For some odd reason, Hestia always seemed to favor Siren," Juliet tells the teen martians. "I always thought it was because of how she is the goddess of the hearth and family, and Siren is the siren of pure heart. The two go hand-in-hand."

Princess Dorothea then floated up to them. Like Frostbite and Pandora, she had used one of Clockwork's portals to bring her army to the Living World. Her army was different from her fellow Ghost Zone rulers. Frostbite's army is his yeti citizens with their spears and ice cores. Pandora's army are all ghostly versions of Greek mythological monsters, like herself. Dora's is all ghostly knights and medieval figures, like executioners, hunters, and one very creepy jester.

"My warriors are all prepared for the oncoming battle," she tells the four. "They are concerned about their orders to not show mercy."

"After your brother, Aragon, i'm not surprised," Mason crossed his arms. "He was a viscous tyrant that didn't allow free will... or for time to move forward."

"Don't ask," Juliet says, seeing and Beast Boy's confused faces.

"They are mostly afraid that things will go back to that way of life," Dora told them. "But my warriors will understand that with the Ghost Zone at stake, they will have to be merciless."

"If they need lessons on being cold, vicious, and heartless, i'll teach them," Juliet evilly grinned. "This is war, and there is no mercy in war."

"And you don't need to be a child of Camelot to know that," Mason said. "Or the child of Morgan LeFey for that matter."

The three walked off, or floated off in Dora's case, to work mwith her army. They left and Beast Boy to their own devices. caught her adoptive brother staring out the window, at the shield Juliet had put up.

"Penny for your thoughts, little brother," she asked.

"I...i'm scared," Gar admitted. "Are we doing the right thing, letting them kill the agents? I know they're bad, but killing them..."

"Everything will be okay, Garfield," Ma'gann comforted. "This will be over before you know it, then everything will be back to normal."

"Will it," Gar asked. "Every hero knows that killing is a line to never cross. Phantom and Siren used to say that they'd never want to take a life."

"I think it's more that they have to, even if they don't want to," Ma'gann says. "They just want to protect their family, and will go to this length to do it."

"It just feels wrong," Gar confessed. "I know what the agents did was wrong, i'll have nightmares about that forever, but killing..."

"Garfield, they would never expect you to accept this like it was nothing," Ma'gann tells him. "They didn't want to go this far, but have been forced to."

"Do you think it's easy for them," Gar asked. "Caitlin already said that she killed the guy that took away her sister."

"In terms of being able to kill, they can do that quite easily," Ma'gann answered truthfully. "In terms of easy for them to kill in terms of their feelings, they don't want to. The mystics have good hearts, and are only doing this to save their families and world."

"What would you do, if you were them," Gar asked his adoptive sister.

"Truthfully," Ma'gann started. "I'm not sure. Uncle J'ohn used to tell me about when aliens were given a hard time when he first got here. They had to use holograms, makeup, heavy clothes, or even just plain hiding to survive. I wouldn't know my choice, but I do know how they feel."

Unknown to them, but Juliet was actually listening in. She had come back to see if the two wanted in on the battle planning. In the back of her head, she saw this coming. All the mystics had been worried about this. That they were asking too much of the Team. And Beast Boy was only thirteen and shouldn't be part of what they were doing. She then shared her concerns with her brother and Dorothea.

"So, what do we do," she asked them. "We can't allow them to fight if their hearts won't be in it."

Before either of the two others could respond, bursts of light started flashing outside the windows. It was like small fireworks. Everyone ran to the windows. They saw Juliet's force field lit up like a Christmas tree as Guys In White agents were shooting at it from the other side. Looking at Dora's army, they all gathered their weapons.

"So much for our little chat," Mason complained.

"Prepare for battle, my warriors," Dora ordered her army.

The ghosts all went outside. and Beast Boy were about to follow, but the three stood in the way.

"We're sorry," Mason said.

"Goddess Demeter, I pray to thee," Juliet cast.

Vines sprouted out of the ground. They entangled themselves around the teen heroes. It turned to a cage.

"What are you doing," Ma'gann asked, confused.

"You guys don't deserve to be part of the horrendous battle about to come," Dora said.

With another wave of her hand, Juliet grew shining sunflowers on the vines. They gave off heat.

"The flowers will give off enough heat to stop your density shifting but won't hurt you," Juliet explained. "And I wouldn't try to shape-shift your way out, as those vines are the type that are stronger than steel. This isn't easy for us, so we won't let you be a part of this."

The wording didn't get past . It hit her that Juliet must have heard the two of them talking. The teen heroes could only watch as the three left.

"They locked us up," Gar gasped.

"She must have heard us," Ma'gann says, BB giving her a weird look. "She specifically said that this wasn't easy for them. That's what we were talking about. She must have heard us and made a split second decision to not let us fight so that our conscience will be clear."

"I can't believe they'd do this for us," Gar said. "Now, we have to help them... somehow."

Outside, the army of ghosts with two mystics stood in the field in front of the force field. Archers and hunters notched their arrows, executioners drew their axes, and the knights pulled out their swords. Mason, Juliet, and Dora were at the front lines.

"If things get bad, you know what to do Dora," Mason says.

The princess ghost nodded, then floated away. Mason made twin swords appear in his hands.

"I'm gonna need a serious nap after this," he said.

"Trust me, we all will," Juliet agreed. "God Terminus, I pray to thee."

With a wave of her hands, the force field started coming down.

"BRACE YOURSELVES," she screamed.

The agent's blasts, that had been fired at the shield, went at them instead. The ghost knights all raised their knight shields, and they expanded to protect them. Both sides then charged.

"Circle swords," Mason shouted.

A spiral circle of gleaming swords appeared around the Camelot mage. Pushing out his hands, he sent the swords at the agents. They scattered the enemy. The ghosts then flew at the army.

An executioner slammed his axe. Green ecto-energy erupted from where he slammed it down, like an earthquake crack, and caused several agents to go flying. The archers all pulled back their bows, and a volley of arrows went through the air. Some were blocked by the agent's blasts, but the rest made contact. As for the knights, you can guess that being dead did not exactly take away their fighting 'spirit.' (AN: See what I did there.)

"Goddess Iris, I pray to thee," Juliet chanted.

Out of her hands came a bright rainbow. Makes sense as Iris is the Greek goddess of rainbows, the messenger of the gods along with Hermes. The rainbow flowed over more of the agents, the light blinding them.

"Now, Mason," Juliet called.

Her brother jumped over her, twin swords in hand. He swept through the group like a bowling ball through pins. He scored a perfect strike. He barely even got a single drop of blood in his clothes.

"Huh, goddess of the rainbow, who would have though that spell would be useful," he smirked.

"I did," Juliet raised her hand, giggling and making Mason roll his eyes.

"Sisters," he mumbled.

"MASON," Juliet suddenly yelled.

Darting his head around, he suddenly saw a dozen anti-magic blasts. But he was pushed out of the way. Falling onto the ground, he quickly looked back up. His eyes widened in horror as he saw his sister being nailed by half of energy blasts. She was thrown against a nearby tree. Mason turned to the nearest group of agents, his eyes blazing.

"That. Is. My. SISTER," he yelled.

Holding up one of his swords, he let the sunlight catch it. It caused the light to make a big flash, a signal to Dorothea. The princess saw the light from where she was surrounded by her royal guard. She knew that something bad must have happened. Closing her eyes, the emerald and gold amulet around her neck glowed. Opening her eyes, they were the slit eyes of a lizard.

Back in the castle, Beast Boy was about six feet deep in a hole. He figure that while the vines had surrounded them, they were not under them. So he had changed into a mole and started digging. He thought that once they were deep enough, could density shift them.

But a giant roar boomed throughout the castle. Beast Boy changed back, poking his head out of the hole.

"I wasn't the only one that heard that, right," he asked.

"I have a feeling Princess Dorothea has a lot more up her silk sleeves than she appears," Ma'gann said. "That should be deep enough, Gar. Let's get going."

Normally, can't spread her density shifting to another. Other than fellow martians, of course. But since Beast Boy has martian DNA, she is able to spread her camouflage and density shifting to him for short periods of time. The two slid right through the floor, under the vines.

Outside, things were getting interesting. After the roar sounded, agents looked around for the source. But they didn't like what they saw. A giant ghost... dragon

As a dragon, Dora's body has the same two-toned light blue color scheme. She has red eyes, sharp teeth, and green horns and ears. She has a flaming green spine and wears her amulet around her neck.

The dragon took in a deep breath, and shot a torrent of flames right out of her mouth. She burned a good handful of agents alive.

"Gotta love that ghost girl," Mason smirked.
