Evangeline Locke, 21, Lakedon:

Jesse: Why did you sign up for the Selection?

Evangeline: Well... I've never really had the chance to date before, so when I heard about the Selection it almost felt like fate. I know that sounds silly *laughs* I am very happy that I decided to sign up!

Jesse: How does it feel to be in Prince Valerian's Elite?

Evangeline: I am obviously very glad that Val has let me stay! But it is a little sad that the Selection will be coming to an end. We have made so many friends, and I am sure we will all remain in touch no matter what the outcome is!

Jesse: You went on several dates with Prince Valerian. Which one was your favorite and why?

Evangeline: I mean I loved all of the dates I had with him! *giggles* But if I had to choose one, it would have to be the Stargazing date we went on. We bundled up into his adorable car and went to a field a little outside of the Palace. It was a perfect night for us to see a meteor shower. We talked for ages and he was so kind, and sweet and he truly understood me. I don't really know why, but I think when I looked into his eyes that night I felt safe and I let myself open my heart to him. I am not generally a trusting person, but there something about him... *sigh* I think that I really love h- *stops abruptly and blushes profusely, clasping her hand to her mouth*

Jesse: How are your aerospace engineering studies going? Is the study group helpful?

Evangeline: *shakes herself before starting* I think it is going quite well, and the study group is working wonders! The girls and Val are so helpful and the study group has really helped me stay motivated!

Jesse: I understand you were adopted by your Foster Care Family. What do they think about you making it this far in the Selection?

Evangeline: Yes, I have been writing to them and I really miss them all especially my little sister... She is very excited that I have made it this far and I have been told to give her a strict daily update leaving out no details! *giggles*

Jesse: What is your love language?

Evangeline: I guess to me words are the best way to truly get to know someone, so I love to talk about everything and anything because it's the little things we know about someone, like that they have a purple elephant that they keep by their bed at night or that they would stop to pick up every speck of rubbish on a walk before responsibly recycling it or the way their nose crinkles up when they laugh...

Jesse: Can you give me two weaknesses and two strengths?

Evangeline: I am quite shy and I get stage fright sometimes, and I am not the most trusting so it takes a certain person to make me open up. In terms of strengths... hmm... I would say that I am quite resourceful and fairly imaginative.

Jesse: What's your favorite cake?

Evangeline: Does a Bakewell tart count as a cake? *giggles* Probably not... Well, I do love carrot cake!

Jesse: What's your favorite constellation?

Evangeline: If I had to pick one I would probably choose the Ursa Major...

Jesse: Can you describe yourself in 3 words starting with the same letter?

Evangeline: *laughs* Quiet, quick-witted and quizzical

Jesse: On a scale from 1-10, how much do you love Doug?

Evangeline: Definitely a 10, he is super cute!

Odessa O-Huang Fan, 22, Yukon:

Jesse: Why did you sign up for the Selection?

Odessa: It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, you know? I didn't have anything to lose, but I had a lot to gain just by signing up. It was an exhilarating experience to send in my form like there was just this rush of excitement at the thought of a chance at trying something new for a change. I don't regret my decision at all! I'm so glad to be here.

Jesse: How do you feel, being on Prince Valerian's Elite list?

Odessa: It's such a dream. I've always had the tiniest bit of a crush on him when I was younger. I've never thought I'd actually get to have a chance with him. I swear! Fifteen-year-old me would have died of pure happiness. But right now, I'm grateful and flattered that he sees me in such a way. Like, romantically. At least I'd hope so after the kiss! He's made me so happy, whether he knows it or not, and I just want to do the same for him.

Jesse: Since the beginning of the Selection, what was your favorite date, and why?

Odessa: Do you mean with all of the princes? I mean, my single date with Prince Silas was okay. I didn't expect to get along with him during the date, but it turns out that we have so much in common, but I like to think that we're friends. My group dates with Prince Nathan were surprisingly enjoyable. I had my doubts about him at first but he's actually the agreeable sort! And then my dates with Prince Val- oh gosh, all of them were- Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry for getting off-topic. All my dates with Prince Val were amazing. I can't choose just one favorite, sorry. So I'd have to say all the ones with Val.

Jesse: I've noticed before that you were quite close with ex-Selected Yuna Anders-Caswell. How did you handle her leaving?

Odessa: Well, it was really sad to have witnessed her heartbreak as a friend, and it was even sadder to see her go. But you just learn to move on and let go, you know? I still see her as a friend, but now I've got other friends too.

Jesse: A little birdie told me that you're a little too far from home. What's the story behind you moving from Waverly to Yukon away from your family? What's the tea?

Odessa: I'm afraid there's not much tea about it, Jesse. It was getting suffocating having to deal with all of the expectations on me as heir to a big company. So many things to do, so many things to plan. I took the coward's way out by running away. But I've come to terms with it. I like the life I'm living now. Plain and simple.

Jesse: Have you had any experience in romance prior to the Selection? Any past boyfriends or girlfriends?

Odessa: Just one actually. I have an ex-boyfriend. I wasn't able to give him the kind of love that he gave me- we broke up when I moved away. I have everything to thank him for. *To the camera, offhandedly* Sabre, I hope you're happy wherever you are.

Jesse: Can you give me two weaknesses and two strengths?

Odessa: I'm perseverant and have a strong sense of will – when I do something, I make sure to give it my 100% percent. If something's worth doing, you just can't help but give it everything you've got, right? For weaknesses, well, I'm easily attached and a coward. I depend on people easily, and I have a tendency of running away when I'm overwhelmed. My strengths and weaknesses clash together more often than not, but I'm slowly learning to hold it together, you know? We're getting there!

Jesse: What's your favorite drink and why?

Odessa: Sweet tea! It's a funny story actually. Growing up, I never enjoyed tea, I preferred coffee. There was this one time that I ordered coffee from a little cafe near my university. The waiter got my order wrong and served me sweet tea instead, and I didn't want to bother him anymore – the poor guy looked really tired – so I just went with it. And I was surprised that I actually enjoyed it! From then on, I just kept on ordering it, I even asked for the recipe. I'm not going to tell you though. Haha.

Jesse: Since you're a florist what's your favorite flower?

Odessa: I absolutely love lotus flowers! They're not always compatible with other flowers bouquet-wise, but they're beautiful. There's this one quote about them that goes "Out of the murky mud of life grows the purely beautiful lotus flower, trusting in its own unfolding." They symbolize purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration, and rebirth, too. And- oh! Sorry, I didn't mean to ramble. I'm just really passionate about flowers and their meanings.

Jesse: Can you describe yourself in 3 words starting with the same letter?

Odessa: I like to think that I'm patient and peaceful and pleasant!

Jesse: On a scale from 1-10, how much do you love Doug?

Odessa: An obvious 10! You didn't even have to ask.

Malia Ka'aukai, 23, Hawaii:

Jesse: Why did you sign up for the Selection?

Malia: Who doesn't sign up for love in a Selection? At least a little bit? Also, I guess I wanted to do something new– an adventure! This was my first time traveling away from home on my own – I came to the Mainland with the Make-A-Wish foundation before – and a chance for me to meet lots of new people from all around Illéa!

Jesse: It was pretty clear that you were here for Prince Silas, but you ended up on Prince Valerian's Elite. How do you feel about that?

Malia: *Blushing* I can't really say I'm disappointed, but not saying it would be lying? I don't know. I've just– I've just had such a huge crush on Silas ever since I was a little girl that I was a little sad when I got taken off his list. *pause* But I'm also super happy to be on Val's list– and an Elite! He's such a sweet man and I don't regret anything.

Jesse: What was your favorite date of the whole Selection, until now?

Malia: Hmmm… that's too hard to choose! On one hand, my date with Silas when he brought me to town to eat that burger was amazing! I was so nervous the whole time! But then my dates with Valerian were just as amazing! *giggles* I thought it was really sweet of him to come to do the Make-A-Wish "prince mermaid" thing for that little girl. It really showed how much he cares about the people, and how he's not afraid to get dirty and actually do things. Yeah, that was probably my most favorite date…

Jesse: You're the Mermaid of the Selection! Did you imagine you'd be that popular with your silicon tail?

Malia: Never! I thought people would make fun of me. When Nevaeh saw my tail popping out of my bags, she made such a face that I wasn't so sure if bringing it along had been a good idea. But then when I did get it out and into the water, everyone was so nice about it! Can you even imagine that Nate and Val tried the fabric tail? It was hilarious! *laughs*

Jesse: Between your two jobs (Life Guard and Professional Mermaid), which one do you enjoy the most?

Malia: Mermaiding, without a doubt! But I can't do that all the time, so I need to do something else, too. And I like to have different things to do, it varies.

Jesse: Your hair is so long! Do you ever cut it?

Malia: No! Well– I used to cut the ends every other year, but no more than a couple of inches. When the hairdresser decided to take off eight inches, I think I could have fainted, had I not been seated! But you know what? I'm thinking I should cut them more than a couple of inches in the future because my hair is so luxurious right now! *pause* Though it could also be the creams we put in them every week…

Jesse: Can you give me two weaknesses and two strengths?

Malia: I cannot cook to save my life. I even burn pasta water! Also… quiet bookish boys. *blushing* As for strengths… can we count physical strength? You have no idea how much abs one needs to be able to swim with a heavy silicon tail. And I can hold my breath for 5 minutes!

Jesse: What's your favorite fruit?

Malia: Coconut. You can do so many things with it! You can eat it raw, make flakes, powder, drink it, and then use it for cups! *giggles*

Jesse: Summer or Winter?

Malia: Summer. I've never really been through a real winter with snow and all. We only have summer all year long. So maybe I'll be lucky enough to live through a cold winter in Los Angeles? Who knows?

Jesse: Can you describe yourself in 3 words starting with the same letter?

Malia: Of course! Caring, Carefree, and Calm! I guess? *giggles*

Jesse: On a scale from 1-10, how much do you love Doug?

Malia: 10. He's simply so lovable and cute and fluffy and I want to hug him all the time!

Abigail Correll, 23, Calgary:

Jesse: Why did you sign up for the Selection?

Abigail: One word: Independence. I saw a way out of the Cinderella story and I took it. I knew there was only a tiny chance I'd get in, but I decided to take it.

Jesse: I wonder what it's like to be on Prince Nathan's list? Do you consider yourself an Elite?

Abigail: Pfft. I mean, there are only six of us left, so yeah, I think we can count that as an Elite? *laughs* but Nate would never admit it. Honestly, I don't know what he's afraid of, but he's been refusing to call us Elites. But am I complaining? No.

Jesse: You asked Prince Nathan out on your last date… Did it go as you had planned?

Abigail: More or less, yes. I just needed to dance and move and do something. And doing it alone wouldn't have been very fun. So I kind of forced him to come with me. Blackmail? No– I mean... If you count promising him shower-sex afterward, then yes? I knew that would work. It was fun, though! And it felt good to get some workout done. I'm getting soft!

Jesse: The Halloween party is coming up. Are you also going to be on the prep team?

Abigail: Of course! You don't change a winning team! Well– now that Leigh is gone, I'll probably have some other people to brainstorm and plan with, but yeah. I'm definitely doing that again. It was fun the first time, and now that it's going to be a smaller party, it should be easy.

Jesse: I understand you have two families… is that correct?

Abigail: *sorts* I'm not really supposed to say this, but… yeah. There's my real family– my mom and my two siblings. I would honestly do anything for them. And then there are the others. The governor and his wife. I think it's not a secret anymore, anyway. they "adopted" me for the publicity, but they honestly don't even like me. I mean– the hate goes both ways. But now that I've been long enough in the Selection, I don't need their money anymore. They can go screw themselves… Sorry. Was that too much?

Jesse: Uhm… that's tea, though! Moving on… What would have been your ideal first date?

Abigail: going to a music festival. Unfortunately, there were no music festivals in LA the times Nate and I went on a date. So...

Jesse: Can you give me two weaknesses and two strengths?

Abigail: I get angry pretty quickly and I'm not the most likable person. I was only on one list, so I guess that proves my point? Though Nathan put everyone on his list, but details. As for strengths, I don't doubt myself or my competencies, and I'm very assertive.

Jesse: What's your favorite candy and why?

Abigail: Gummy bears, because they remind me of when I was still a kid and dealing gummy bears instead of giving and receiving punches.

Jesse: What's your favorite music genre to dance to?

Abigail: Hip-Hop. Sick beat, and it really gives you the stamina one needs for dancing and breaking a sweat.

Jesse: Can you describe yourself in 3 words starting with the same letter?

Abigail: Careful, Caring (towards my family, not everyone, though), and uhm… Cinderella? But not anymore. I don't know…

Jesse: On a scale from 1-10, how much do you love Doug?

Abigail: 11. He's adorable and I like him better than the Princes– don't tell them, though.
